Donkey Kong.. original arcade - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

After about an hour of searching this forum, and many links for games and emulators from this forum, I cant find the only games I really want. The classic arcade version of Donkey Kong, and the Legend of Zelda. I know I could probably have the both of these with a nintendo emulator, but the 5 or so links to download different emulators never worked. Does anyone out there have a working .bin emulator file, or just the games themselves. Thanks.

Well i found this. I dont know if this is what you looking for. But just trying to help.

There are more emulator games on the site. You just have to find them.

Would have been exactly what I wanted, but they dont work with the Kaiser. Always prompted with "file error". Thanks.
Anyone have either of these games already.

thats weird they work on mines. sorry it didn't work. If i find more ill post it here

Thanks... I'll try again, but it seemed the java that they run off was conflicting with my phone.??? Are you running an Emulator with them, or just straight off the website?

Have you tried Pocketnes? I have a few hundred games that all work flawlessly. Which rom are you using? There are a few roms that it wont work with.

I'm not using one yet. Everytime I install one, it never works, or just doesnt download.. I'll try pocketnes though... don't think I've tried that one. Thanks.

I have PocketSnes, but I can't get Roms to work, when I load them they freeze my device. I tried Killer Instinct and The Avengers, anyone know of any issues with these.

I also have pocketSnes and have both those games running just fine, most likely your rom. Which are you using?

Probably a useless reply (sorry!) lol
But i did manage to find a copy of zelda thats a stand alone java application.
Try searching for zelda+winmo+java maybe.
Sorry dont have time to upload it somewhere for yea atm.
My kid is a huge zelda fan - Its NOT for me. Thatd be quake2

Have you tried MAME for PPC? It's called MAMECE3:
http://www.mameworld.net/mamece3/
I imagine it shouldn't have any problems running an older game like Donkey Kong!
As far as the original Legend of Zelda goes, have you tried PocketNES?:
http://pocketnes.retrogames.com/
Of course, finding the ROMs is a question of legality.. You could try building a ROM dumper and dumping the contents of the chips in that old Donkey Kong arcade machine in your garage.. (you know, the one sitting next to the box with the old Legend of Zelda cartridge in it!)

yes but it would be on rapidshare or megaupload, still just as annoying having to wait.
wolfenstein you may notice you can get on a website you dont need to register from.
as far as duke nukem, you need the .exe from modaco, you should read my guide on getting it to work on the kaiser also from modaco here:

quake 1 or 2 aint doin so hot, framerate and peformance is good, but theres 1annoying bug on both versions that makes the left and right directions strafe, and you cant fix it. it only strafes and doesnt turn. ive managed to fix it twice but every time you run the exe it automaticly makes it strafe again
So, my son got high point on Wolfenstein but we could not figure out how to input his name. So we ended up having to SR'ing the phone. Is there a way around that?

not all will work, only those that have the same file names, but even then some dont work. im gonna try the spongebob mod lol.
EDIT: just tested and the spongebob mod works with the shareware version:

its actually nothing exciting, not as great as it sounds. a mod i do suggest tho is Operation Letzterschutz:

why? cuz its not boring, it works, and it uses the full version. (the last 3 episodes arent finished though)

Nesroid

Just thought I'd point out a full NES emulator on the market which works perfectly at full speed with sound and saving state. It's called Nesroid. I've tried it with a few games and it seems to work perfectly, although the sound is a little static-y.
Yeah I saw that this morning. I was waiting on a little more feedback before I bought it. Im looking forward to some Captain Skyhawk...
Yeah, I tried to buy it with my dad's credit card, but i stucked at "validating credit card" or something like that (i'm german) so i mailed the developer asking him for e.g. paypal .. still waiting for answer <.< GNAH GIMME ZELDA

**Nesoid
Saw this posted on here and HAD to test it out...!! But when searching for Nesroid, I received no results. It's actually under Nesoid (no R) But regardless, I am very impressed. There are comments on the market page for it stating there is NO sound..well that's not true. I tested FF1, FF2, Kirby's Adventure, Zelda, and Megaman, all work flawlessly!! Full speed, sound, everything. ^-^ Keeping it, worth the $1.99..this is what I've been waiting for.. now hopefully, there will be more on a Genesis or SNES emulator..though I know an SNES one is in the works and should be out by end of June... crap..I don't have the link, but the developers are very focused on speed, sound, and save states..! I will find that link...eek.
you mean, this one:
http://www.supergnes.com/
Yeah it works well. I guess why some don't have sound is because of the lack of Open GL drivers in their firmware (HAHAHAHHAHAHA! screw them ). There is lite (free) version that seems to be the same thing... I'm kinda pissed because there seems to be no difference between the two! At this point... I normally would refund and get the free (exact duplicate!!) one but I feel bad because I have waited for this since I got my G1. Hummm.... the Touch Pro 2 is coming to T-MO USA in July and I was gonna go back to WM (keep my Dream as a back up) but it gets easier to decide not to with each day of fantastic Android innovation, port, or emulator. Hell, it's good to have choices! Now T-Mobile is finally giving us MANY more (cough, cough, Samsung Android w/ 8GB internal memory coming in fall)
Looks like my battery life will suffer severely thanks to this app. Sound gets choppy when the phone starts accessing data, which sucks, but it is still awesome
works on jf 1.5.... The sound for me doesn't work but every game I have played on it works 100% This is a dev who knows what a good product is!
its about time a decent emulator came out, if ScummVM works fine i dont see why all the other emulators till now had to suck...

Maybe you should try to write a high performance emulator in Java. Then you'd find out.
Freedomcaller:
You have no clue what an emulator, OR scummvm is, do you?
An emulator simulates all low-level calls, and basicly pretends it's a whole other computer... and that's while running all the other services and apps in the background.
That is not an easy thing to do, and especially not in pure interpreted java. That's why native/compiled code is probably used in that emulator.
ScummVM is *NOT* an emulator. SCUMM is an interpreted language, by lucas-art.
What ScummVM does is basicly just read some sort of script, and match the commands in the script, to local calls.
ScummVM is (relatively) easy to implement, and doesn't need a whole lot of horse-power (The NintendoDS runs it, and i think the GBA does too... and the GBA runs at 16MHz, with 384kB of RAM)
this emulator works great, i tested 5 nes rom and they all runs and sounds perfectly.
this is from 1.5 H build.
the graphic looks cool when g1 screen is so small.
now lets give us SNES emulator please

This emulator is so fast in fact, I suspect this app has a component of native code in it that is not Java at all. Doom had a piece of native code in it.
-James
This is great!
Any chance buying the emulator for the ones outside T-Mobile networks?
u don't need tmobile?!
The lite version only plays one preloaded rom - Chip N Dale. I'm sure you could mess with the .apk to play other roms, but the work involved to make a good NES emulator is worth 2 bucks to me.
Well, let me try again then.. Is there any way to get this outside the market, as I live in a country that cannot browse any priced applications on the market.
Edit: I have no problem paying for it via paypal or something, it's just unavailable for me over the market and I really want this !

This will allow you to browse priced apps on the market:

However you'll still need to attach a credit card to your Google Checkout to use it.

Duke Nukem GP, Heretic for G1 (Using the Free Doom off Market)

Hey all, did some old digging in my Zodiac 2 Palm files. Back when I was playing Duke GP on it. Anyways learned that some wads dont work on the Doom G1, however I found my wad file that does. =D
So if you wanna play duke nukem. http://www.darkmystics.com/g1 is where to go. You have to put the file on your SD card in the doom folder. (I used Lind file manager) However.. was odd tho, Do not try clicking it with the G1 browser.. seems to wanna load up as a txt file which then freezes the G1. Instead long press, save link as, then after it saves, use lind to rename it to .wad and move it to the doom folder.
Download Doom on the Market, its free. Then install sounds, install the various wad files you want, long as this wad file is in the folder it works. One glitch however. It wont use the Duke 3d sfx. So Id suggest turning them off. Since its mapping Doom sounds to Duke3d but if you wanna play Duke, least its something. =) Just wanting to give back something to the forums. (Since on the market the other dev charges for Duke Nukem..)
Anyways hope this is ok with everyone and hope you have fun. =)
Update: Went more digging in my files. Heretic works as well now. =D
Sadly my Quake 2 doesnt.. nor counter-strike. But I am still working to find what more I can add for you all. =)
This is awesome! Brings back some great memories
Thanks very much for finding this!
doom works fine but when i try to run dukegp.wad i get the
fatal error:... iwad not found...
any ideas?
Iwad not found..? Just to make sure do you have the sound files installed? Did you DL it with the G1 or what?
Cause I tried some other wads I had on my palm and if it doesnt work on the G1 it would just crash out to the home screen. Or say force close. But iwad not found, not sure there. But I have all the wads installed the app can do on its own. Then I added this one. Plus you do have it in the doom folder right?
Btw.. Doom 2 is also in the site... shhh! I didnt say a word.
Edit: Also I see 2 doom versions now, so to clarify, Its "Doom for Android (FREE)" by Scheff's Blend.

I had the same problem. Even though there's no sound, click Dukegp, and then install the sound files. That will get it to work.
I emailed the dev on his Doom port so he knows of this wad. Ill look around too see if I can jury rig something about the sound files for everyone. =) Thank god I still have my Zodiac 2 working. ^^
Woot Heretic now posted as well. =D I really hope the dev gets back to me now, maybe were we can add a separate sounds folder to map to the wads. Either way with this solid port in progress and smooth control and frame rate. Good stuff indeed. =D
works fine, but the dn3d cheats dnstuff and dncornholio dosenĀ“t work
Rem the wads are being run on a Doom port. So since this is new on the G1. Not sure how everything maps out. So not sure about extras and so. If the dev responds to this stuff. Would help alot. But this was what I had for Zdoom and so.
LOL Heretic and Duke Nukem sound halarious with Doom sound FX
Hey man just wanna say thankx so much that dn is awesome
Hey thanks very much I really enjoy playing doom and doom 2.
Duke nukem is always fun , mostly in a boring situation
Im glad you all are enjoying it. =D If anyone has something else to contribute. Im more then willing to upload it to my host for everyone here at XDA. =) Call it my contribution to the forums. =D
And yea.. Doom sfx on them really are funny.. tho would be more awesome to have duke nukem sound fx in Doom. =p "Come get some" as you pickup the chainsaw lol.

Gamers: Please get TigerMAME- it rocks!

TigerMAME on the Gtablet plays CPS1, CPS2 and all Neo Geo games. It plays all games full speed with sound. Droid X chokes on games like Metal Slug and King of Fighters 99.
I have tested every rom for CPS1, CPS2 and Neo Geo over the weekend (really). EVERY game works perfectly.
Gamers need to get this ASAP TigerMAME 1.31 is curent version. The app sucked up until 1.3, but since then, it is amazing.
Proably best for the dev to rename it Final Burn, since more that than a true MAME.
A+ none the less!
i'm sorry but what exactly is tigermame? is it an emulator, i can't find it in the market.. also i got wiimote to work over the weekend and have been playing some games. my experience the games have been very laggy and choppy. my incredible plays them much better. i'm on zpad, i wonder if i'm doing something wrong or i'm on the wrong rom
I'd prefer a plain version of MAME instead. I like the older games versus the JAMMA (CPS, CPS2, NeoGeo) stuff.
I found it, I had to search mame not tigermame.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Silly question, but how do you control the game? is it all on the touch screen?
Weird. I found Tigermame by typing "tiger" but have the near full market working.
TigerMAME is a multi arcade game emulator. This is more like Final Burn, whose focus is Capcom games (CPS1 & CPS2) and Neo Geo.
This app and PSX4Droid show how much more powerful the Tegra 2 is over the 3630 (Archos 70 & 101).
If you search for the game sets I refer to above, you can easily find lists and download links for the roms. Everyone of them works perfectly. For Neo Goe games, make sure to put the neogeo.zip file in the same directory as the game zips or Neo Geo games will not work (it is a bios file)
Touch screen is better than I thought it would be, but still no match for hardware inputs.
The app is free.
I also have psx emulator and it its laggy too. Maybe its the rom I'm on or maybe I need to reboot before I play. But yes the tegra2 should smoke the snap dragon.

Just Google scph1001.bin for psx4droid and u should find it. Once u download it place it in your psx folder on Da SD card. Now when it asks u to get that file it should be in there
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
in order to play psx games they have to be downloaded and extracted on a desk or laptop. Doing this from ur phone will cause the games to not download correctly. I don't know the exact step by step instructions but I do know what you need. U need a program that extracts the psx games. U can usually Google it and u should find something to help u with this. Than the most important part is finding a program called (UN ECM). Once u get done downloading and extracting ur game of choice, you then drag and drop it ON TOP of the UN ECM program wherever its located on ur computer. The reason for this because the program doesn't open, u can just drag and drop stuff on top of it. Once all that is said and done there should be a data.bin file wherever u originally saved the game. U can rename this file but don't delete data.bin, jus put game title prior to the word data. Once u do that, then put the game file in the psx folder on your Droid.
In order to be successful u should do research. The info I gave u is generally correct but hey, ur Da one that has to complete the task. Let me know how it works out. Good Luck

Thanks... I am looking more into it, its running .. looking for roms now
Sadly, the current version of PSX4Droid (1.7) is MUCH slower than 1.5 and 1.6. 1.5 seems the best version of the app for speed.
Games play a lot slower on 1.7, so not a good rep for the app and the Gtablet's performance. 1.5 version IS a good rep.
As far as TigerMAME, how the dev went from a bad app to one of the best in such a short time period and a few updates is amazing.
Every single game and rom version works perfectly for speed, graphics and sound.
1 CPS1
2 CPS2
3. Neo Geo
That is a few hundred real arcade games playing just as well on the Gtablet.... Though the V-pad is better than expected, it would be nice if a USB gamepad could be read.....
i tried running psx 1.5 but it does not load the bios that worked for 1.7. is there another bios or something?

For me, version 1.7 is slow on the Gtablet and super crazy slow on the Incredible. 1.5 is about twice as fast. I can get some good playtime with the v-pad, but playing platform games is an issue. Actually doing better than I thought with some games.
Correct though- we need the ability to use a game pad.
I'm trying to spark some interest as to why tnt is making us use their keyboard, there has to me a hack or a mod to fix this issue.

1.7 version of PSX4droid is slow. Something is screwed up in it. I pulled 1.5 from an older Titanium back up. Twice as fast and not exaggeration.

[Q] Could someone with 3.2 please check if Tiger Arcade scales correctly now?

Hello, Acer Iconia tab owner here. Since we don't have 3.2 yet, I was wondering if one of you could please check if Tiger Arcade works now with the new zoom feature...it didn't use to scale correctly. Thanks!
I just tried Tiger GBC playing Final Fantasy Legend and it looks and runs fine.
I'm not running stock 3.2, though. I'm using the 2.0.1 Tiamat ROM.
That's great to hear! Did you even have to use the new zoom feature? For me, 3.1 on the Acer, the window is tiny, games run but are more like phone-sized. Also, what version number of Tiger Arcade was that? Thanks for the info!
or actually, just understood that you said GBC, so gameboy...alright, that's cool to hear as well, but Arcade (Mame) is what was causing my issue. Would you mind testing that?
I don't have Tiger: Arcade. It doesn't seem to be on the market anymore. Do you have apk and a game rom?
Scales great. I have a hard time finding roms that work on it though. The rom that I tested it with was "Mega Twins". All the scaling options worked great. What roms work for you?
That's great to hear! It was an unplayable small screen on 3.1, awesome. What version of Tiger Arcade is that?
For roms, I've used this: http://www.coolrom.com/roms/mame/
I've tried at least a few of the Metal Slugs and 1944, those at least worked good (as far as I could tell from the small screen). It supports gamepad too, so I'm looking forward to hooking this up to a tv and having a portable console =)
Thanks for testing! And ccossin - I couldn't find the site where I downloaded the apk right now, but I should have it bookmarked on my home machine. I can get back to you (or perhaps Mr Bland can say what version and where he got it from).
Edit: Oh yes, for many ROMs you need the "neogeo" rom as well. So that might be causing problems, remember to get that rom too.

Thanks for this.
You know what, I can't find the bookmark (I guess I didn't make one) and I couldn't locate it again although I tried googling a bit. Unless somebody else can point you to the right page for downloading it (they were pulled from the market), I can of course mail you the apk, if you'd like. Just PM me with your address and I'll send the apk over. Or if somebody else has the link for downloading the emulator, please share, it'd probably help others who come to this thread too.

It is version 1.4.4. I bought it from the market before it was removed. I haven't tried Googling it but you could try one of the alternative markets. Slideme, Andappstore, and a couple of others that are actually mostly warez but are good places to check for apps no longer available; Google should be able to help you.
