Skype on HD ? - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

hi to all,
one question: how skype works on HD concerning sound output, does it uses main speaker or the one for calls.
P3600 used main speaker and it was unpractical.
Thanks

Skype uses main speaker or headphones if connected.

Thanks,
is it working with bluetooth headset to?

I don't know, because I don't have a BT headset.

It's work with my bluetooth headset(A2DP). ^_^

So no way to make it use the internal speaker and internal mic?

Skype uses internal mic and external speaker as default input and output audio devices.
No way to use internal speaker as output audio device.

Not sure about skype but AGEphone works well with internal speakers.
As a bonus call recording also works 2 ways (voip calls of course)
In audio settings:
Speaker:Audio Output
Microphone: System Default
Then on the second page:
Switch speakers during call is ticked.

They provide a triall from their web page.

am runnin skype on my HD right now and it works just fine. i wish they could make it to work with the internal speaker though

Recording sound with external mic?

Hello guys!
I m a very happy user of my diamond and this forum...
I was wondering if there is any application that would allow to record using and external mic , plugged in via a usb - 3,5mm jack for example.
Then i can stop carryin my Iriver h340 thats getting pretty heavy!
Isn t there a tool that can also update date and time automatically ?
Thanks in advance and big up for all the cookers!
As far as I know, the Notes application is able to record from an external mic just like the fixed mic. Just go to Menu > View Recording Toolbar.
There are several applications to sync the time, can't think of any off the top of my head.
The supplied headset has an external mic in it, you should be able to hack into it and solder on a jack socket, then plug in any mic. In theory you should also be able to do the same with a BT headset.
You need "synchrotime" to correct time and date via the internet.
these were quick answers!!
I was more thinking about recording rehearsals and concerts , so more like a dedicated application were u can choose the sample rate m and also the format for ex wave or mp3 plus a gain control...

Pardon me for digging up old bones, but I've been searching for an answer to this for a bit now...
Like the OP asked, is there an app out there for recording audio from an external mic plugged into the 3.5mm jack? I own a Samsung Galaxy S (Fascinate) and know that the hardware side of this topic is covered.
The only "Notes" application I have is notebook. I have audio recorder, but that doesn't have any such settings to choose from an external audio source (and I've tried to see if it just switches to that source if it is plugged in, no luck).
This would make life so much easier for me if I could pull this off. I'd pay for a decent app that covered that.

In a twist to this question/ request.
I am and have been looking for an app also that will be able to utilize the external mic 3.5 mm jack to record audio to the built-in video application.
NATIVE! not hacked or Jerry-rigged. I tried this by plugging in a headset /mic to the external mic port on an EVO and HTC Incredible and it still seemed to use the regular mic on the phone not the 3.5 mm jack.
I'd like to use my incredible/ EVO/ (and rumored HTC Incredible HD) to be able to connect a lapel mic with transmitter and receiver so audio sounds local without echo from a distance.
Plus I could have 2 people miced up and one video camera.
There is no reason why this shouldn't work.
We are not talking power just software access.
If the notes apps uses it to record why can't the video app use the same port.

Way to record audio on Android using external mic
Hi.
You have to buy adapter which will split the signal for microphone in and audio out (you probably know 3.5 jack in your phone is 2 directional as it supports headset with mic)
You can try to look for it on Amazon (headset buddy)
or solder into headset in the pins which are responsible for mic signal.
Then,
I know only 1 app for android which supports recording from external microphone:
Arabela Audio Recorder - choose DEFAULT audio source and it should catch the signal from external mic connected through adapter via 3.5 jack.
I THINK it can catch the audio while recording video because it works in background ... so later you will be able to remove the audio from video recording and join it with the one you recorded using Arabela with some kind of video editor
regards
If you need a adapter for the phone, then check what i did here in this thread:
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...se-a-external-microphone-with-my-galaxy-nexus
There are also link to a app which can record video with the external microphone

I think any mic with 4 pole jack should work without any adapters. Like the one's used on iphones etc. Check on ebay for iphone microphone. I ordered a cheap one $1.80 just to test on my SGSII but im 99% it's going to be working. There are some high quality for about $30 as well. Like this one HERE

Skype always on speakerphone??

SkypeMobile only does speakerphone or via a headset- you cannot use your device's earpiece, ridiculous!
can anyone here tweak skype so we can use the earpiece? it would be very much appreciated
Install Fring, it can connect to your Skype account and you can switch the sound to your earpiece. It works on my Touch pro2, I did not try it with the touch Pro. See:

[Q] using bluetooth headphones/ video

Hey all,
I have HD7 and listen to music when travelling, everything works fine. But just recently I attempted to watch a film and the sound will not play through the Bluetooth headphones, it transfers the sound to the speakers? Anyone know how to change this at all??

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

Hello, do you have the possibility to call a contact with the voice ( voice dialing) by the headset like on the HD1 ( and not on the HD2) ?
Thanks

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

Thank you, goood news because the HD2's bluetooth stack wasn't able to hear the voice dialing by the blutooth headset , and it only works only by the HD2's microphone.
Thank you

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.

[Q] Bluetooth headset(non A2DP) with Skype/Yahoo voice chat possible?

I have a LG headset (HBM-235) that is paired to my N1 and works fine for calls. The button brings up the speech command activity when pressed.
The problem is that apps like yahoo and skype (latest versions) only use the internal speaker/mic even though the bluetooth headset is connected.
Is there any way to use my BT headset with these apps? (on CyanogenMod7 nightlies or otherwise) Maybe a third party app ?
A screenshot of the BT options screen is attached.
Note: My interest in this is directly related to the WHO report that cell phone radiation is "possibly carcinogenic to humans." 05/31/2011
update: This app seems to be working. Music is routed correctly will report back about the mic (skype test)
Update 2: did not work with skype
Update3: It looks like I need a A2DP headset that supports the "Media" audio channel and not just the "Phone" audio channel. Since CM7 is not showing me (See the screenshot) the option to enable "Media" audio I guess I'm stuck. Note that this headset works fine as a skype headset on my laptop.
What you need is a A2DP headset, that's one that can send the Media audio (stereo) over BT.

How can I hook up an external USB or Bluetooth Mic

I've been getting comments that my volume is too low. The Galaxy Camera mic isn't the greatest for video...
How can I hook up a Bluetooth or USB directional or clip-on mic?
I tried both and neither register properly as the default audio device. How can I switch my audio device?
I found this, but re-ROMing my camera each time I change mics or update is less than optimal.. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748873. Surely this can be done with a simple app or terminal command to switch audio devices.
Apparently the mic audio works in the camera so I will need to cut up a set of headphones.
Hey Adam,
1st - i'm a big fan!
2nd - I'm trying to use my Jabra bluetooth headset as external mic so I don't have to be right next to the cam. Have you figured it out? Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers
