I'm looking into it, a screensaver kinda thing.

Think of the possiblities,
Instead of fish you could do human figures in various states of undress depending on the status of the monitored process,
For the prudent or prude you could create an inverse process!
For the medical types you could have hospital beds with patients in various states of health,
For Christmas you could have santa coming closer and closer or getting bigger and bigger depending on status...
The possibility's are infinite!!!!!!

As i mentioned i'm working on a X1 fishpanel lock-app kinda thing for VGA.
But graphics aint my thing.

I have no idea what this panel is about... Can someone post a link pls? Google doesn't know the "fish panel Xperia" words.
I would like to know what the fuss is about and perhaps see if I can do something about it (graphicwise).

Shake phone to add food, cool aint it?. Xperia is never gonna get it since SE skipped the motion sensor.
Light sensor sensetive fish? colorchanging perhaps, or a day and night graphics feature effect.
And the water HAS to be motion sensetive aswell, im thinking about the beerapp.

Check out these video reviews for details on the fish panel:
http://www.phonemag.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-panel-gui-in-action-042162.php
http://www.thesmartpda.com/50226711/what_exactly_do_the_sony_ericsson_xperia_x1_panels_do.php
http://www.gaj-it.com/2143/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-launched-at-tent-london/
Basically here is a portion of a description from the last review:
"The best panel by far on the Xperia X1 was a panel of 1 black and 2 orange fish that would excitedly swim to wherever you placed your stylus on the screen. Sounds pretty basic and boring, but each fish did have a purpose. If the sound was muted, one of the orange fish would turn clear. If your battery’s getting low, one of the fish starts to turn red, and if you miss a call another fish will turn yellow . While at first the sound of an aquarium in your phone sounds like a waste of an application, the fish do allow you to guage your phone’s settings with just a quick glance at your “aquarium”. If you for some reason really don’t like fish, just give them a tap and they will go nuts."

i want this program 2
a program like this, with the future build in to unlock your phone???

Actually the fish function like this:
place a finger/stylus to the screen and keep it there -> the fish come to it
tap a fish -> it swims away (I know, animal cruelty..)
black fish -> turns to red when battery below 10% (too late to my liking)
skinny orange fish -> turns silver when sound is on mute/vibrate
fat orange fish -> turns to gold when there's an unread message (email or sms/mms)
clown fish -> appears when there's an unanswered call
..the fish have been individually named in the manual also: Japanese style names, like Ryumi etc..
They are actually very cool to show off, in a gimmicky sort of way. Too bad there's no way to alter their behaviour; for example the battery fish could have a broader spectrum of colors (gradually from black to clear/white for example).

When i realese (read if), i will use 3d models, this graphics is just placeholders for now.

Haha, very nice indeed I like them...

haha it's a start, keep developing!

I really hope something comes of this. I think it would be great to have a screen saver / locking app that had this ability. Has anyone posted the idea inn the diamond or general software forums?

me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very nice. it would be great to have such screen saver on the raphael.

hahaha amazing start. i would post up in the dev. forums too (more traffic more help lol more recognition)

[REQ] Live Wallpaper Request - Google UK Logo Inspired

has anyone here seen the google uk logo? the one that is composed of multicolored balls that can be disturbed or agitated by the mouse.
google.co.uk
it could be a nice live wallpaper.
-multicolored balls filling up a black screen or a color customizable background
-balls wiggles in place
-can be agitated by touch
-optional:
colors of balls that will appear can be customized
interval for color changing can be adjusted
Saw that earlier awesome isn't it
it would make good a live wallpaper...
and to clear things up it's not only on google UK.
+1 to this. Imagine even if it was simply the word "Google" as we're using Android phones I think that would be quite fitting.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
hoping someone could do this.
The Google logo is back to normal now, I think I could take a stab at this as I am learning Java and my demo paper (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=133197) is relatively similar. Anyone know where to see the Google logo again, I never saw it the other day when it was out, just heard about it.
Just did some thinking and did a proof of concept for myself, made a single dot that reacts to touch... should be easy to make lots of dots do the same and do other things.
here's one from youtube.

3d droid

Hi.
I'm modeling 3d Android for one website, so I'll like to share with you my current progress; this is not finished model: I have to change hands (I don't like them as they are now), make legs, and add some more details. I have just posed what I have till now in to some quick pose and make quick render, to better see how it looks, and what to change.
I the end, this will be animated character and it will be used for banners, logo, icons, animated intro for videos, and some wallpapers and maybe even for theme for mobile phones.

I'm modeling this in 3d studio max.
And here is one more small update; I have remodeled hands, so that now I have more wide range of movement with them.
Awesome work, the first face looks better in my opinion, but the second is more original.
I also prefer the darker face. There is more contrast and makes the eyes stand out more. Also looks happier. Good details there. It is very difficult to make "green skin" look good at best of times!
Tnx guys for comments.
Face is still something I haven't decide yet what to do about it; I'll have to make some tests with expressions to see what will work best.
Now, I have to make legs; i'm thinking about making them somewhat similar to hands, but I'll put wheels on them (they will be mostly hidden; there will be a gap like for hands, where wheel will come out), so that he will basically role around; i thing that he will look cooler that way.

Last Call for Google IO Submission

Hey guys! I recently competed in Round II of the "Last Call for Google IO" challenge for Android which had us develop an Android version of the HTML5 countdown clock that is on the Google IO Homepage:
http://www.google.com/events/io/2011/
I threw it on my G-Tab when I was done developing it and I liked it so much I thought I'd create a live wallpaper from it, but change it from a countdown to Google IO to just displaying the system clock.
Trying to get a feel for how many people would actually use it. I've attached the standalone app I created so you can try it out.
Please let me know what you think!! Thanks,
-teleK

I made that in 9 hours for the challenge. I barely finished let alone had time to add any options.
The Live Wallpaper will have options.
I like it! Good work!
Id rock this if it were available in a full live wall paper

It would be an awesome lock screen wall paper..
Different colored balls maybe, amount of balls, maybe you can even add in different types of balls for a paid version? Like for sports fans- they can choose a baseball or basketball etc...If thats even possible LOL
Pretty cool. Some options I'd like to see:
1. Ability to change balls (color, size, shape)
2. Ability to change physics (gravity control, bounce speed)
3. Ability to interact with bouncing balls (move finger and cause them to change as if I actually bumped them)
4. Location on screen for date/time
5. If possible, have the balls interact with the icons/widgets on the screen - bounce between around as if they were real objects
Sorry for the Delay
Sadly I was not one of the 10 Android winners for the contest. However, I have finished turning my submission into a Live Wallpaper with the system clock and stuck it on the market.
I'm very happy with it so far but this is only the beginning. I plan to add accelerometer support, and a couple settings options as one of the other posters requested.
And who knows, if it sells well enough maybe I can afford to buy an I/O ticket from someone on eBay. So.... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? Go buy my app and try it out!!!

Watchface offset issue (always on mode)

Has anyone else noticed the watchface usually goes a few pixels offset in always on / standby mode? Its a bit difficult to see in most watch faces, but you can see it shift back to center when you wake it up. Its really noticable when you design a watch face that is the exact size of the screen or have something at the very edge because when it shifts, you get a white boarder or small items at the edge go off the screen. I just want to verify I'm not the only one here. I cant imagine its a hardware issue, but want to make sure before I'm no longer able to exchange it.
Thought I read somewhere it is intentional to stop screen burn in on OLED. All the watch faces apparently do it...

Awesome, thank you for the response. That does make sense and now I'm happy it does it lol. I'll just make sure to design my watch faces with a background larger than the template so when it shifts, there's no white boarder.
I'm just about to buy one. Being doing a lot of reading up. Finally decided between this and the Moto 360!

To each their own, but I'm so happy I bought this over the 360. Just personal preference I guess, but I love it so far and don't think i would like the 360 after getting used to the "always on" feature.
That's the bit I like and why I decided on the LG. Just need to get it signed off by the wife and is all good...
I think the LGGR makes a better choice for a man while the 360 is better for a woman. But let's not forget the ASUS Zenwatch. That's a good looking bit of kit for $200. Once again, IMHO a better choice for the ladies as the lines are somewhat feminine.
The think I like about the LGGR's styling as a man is that it reminds me of a watch an Indycar driver would wear.
The question is what adjustments can we make to watch faces in Facer so they don't look so bad?
Unfortunately, there's probably not much we can do about existing faces. I personally started making mine with a square background image (still round face). That way when it shifts, there no white line bleeding through. Search my username Jaydawgx7 on facerepo and check them out. I'm just getting started with the faces so I'm learning as I go, but I think they've turned out well so far. Hopefully more people start making their backgrounds larger than the circle mask in most templates as this watch gains popularity.

You're right some show white space like this one - http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/colourful-149b2fe3fdd. but the Mickey Mouse doesn't. - http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/mickey-dark-circle-full-1499f5d7a90
But I just realized the first example has a white border around it so maybe removing that in Photoshop will alleviate it.
It's just that some watch faces don't look as bad when they shift and others look horrible so there must be some work around even though it's probably a pain to do.

And I just figured it out. I extracted the images of each face. Both circular images were placed over a square, but the Mickey was a black square and the Rainbow wheel was a white square. Changing the Rainbow one to and all black background fixed it. It still shifts in dim mode, but it's not as noticeable. So it appears that watch faces need to be on a black background in order to compensate for the shift and not look terrible. It's a pain to do, but if you really like a face that has this issue, it's too hard to do.

Question Interactive wallpapers gone ?

No, i dont mean live wallpapers as they are today - video footage.
I used to have nice wallpapers on old phones (S1, S2) that would react to touch - signals spreading via pcb traces from finger upon poking the screen, rings in water surface growing, strange cube undulating landscape, etc, etc.
There was even a wallpaper i could play with - some sort of bacteria growing wallpaper, where upon poking the screen you spawn life, that needs to feed on other spawns of different colors...
Gyro activated wallpapers, sound reactive, touch responsive - that sort of thing.
Yeah, yeah, battery life... dont care
All i find now is "look at this aerial night new york footage" live wallpaper... bleh. Just got S21 Ultra and well disappointed in wallpapers...
#EDIT1# Ha, found my old microbes.apk live wallpaper, the microbe feeding thing Still works on S21 Ultra...Noice... And its from ICS gen...oof... i feel old...
