Request: Google Mobile Apps - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I would like to use the Blackberry or iPhone google mobile app in my Fuze. Is it possible, can somebody port it?

you are talking about Google Maps Street View. Just go to google.com/gmm on your mobile phone browser and you can download. It has been available for a couple weeks.

if you just want a nice page with icons as links for the services you could easily make a web page, store it on your phone and and set it as the home page for your web browser.

m.google.com is a simple page with lots of nice links to all google services.
Maybe juanikiki could be a bit more specific on what they need.

OK here is what I'm talknig about.

Location sharing app other than latitude?

Does anyone know of an app where my g1 can track another g1 via gps? Basically, if Latitude would actually update for me, that would work. Im still playing with it to get it to work but it seems to have problems updating regularly.
Anyhow, I'm just wondering if there was an alternative to Latitude so my wife and I can see where each other is. No I don't suspect cheating, I just hate having to answer calls on my way home from work to hear "Where are you so I know when to start dinner?" If I share my location, she knows right where I am and I can continue streaming pandora in the car.
Anyone wanna try to tackle this if there is no good alternative? I need to find a "Android Development for Dummies" book.
You could try Glympse. It's concept is a bit different though: It allows to send a text-message or e-mail with a link that one can use to track you. You would have to do that every time you start your way home though. It also is more real-time than Latitude, therefore draining the battery more quickly. Either way I recommend you to give it a try.

[Q] Can I use Skype on 3 in unofficial ROM

Hi, I am in the UK and with 3. My galaxy S came with the Skype on 3 and it can call phone numbers for free. (You still need Skype credits.) I think the way it works is it actually dials a 3's service number and then you get redirect to the phone number you want to call.
My question is:
1) If I flash to other ROM, can still use Skype on 3 for free? I make a lot of international calls by Skype...
2) Can I flash back to 3's official ROM?
Cheers.
there is no skype for android yet
at least not officially
the next best thing like skype + video VoiceIP is Fring

I hate you so much right now
Does it have video call?
I tried fring and even the voice was a disaster...
voiceIP only it seems
also it FORCES YOU TO TURN OFF WIFI so that you can only use GPRS/EDGE/3G to use skype
so that was the deal, so that you can't get away of their data plans
IMO it's useless if you can't use it on WiFi
i'm going back to Fring for Video to Video chats
Is there any trick to use video chat (besides fring) on yahoo/gmail/skype with a PC?

Same for me in South Africa on 3G
it'll only work if you are using the "3 network" from UK
you can install and run it, but it wont let you connect to make a call
I cannot transfer the application to my phone, it says that the file format cannot be transferred, is there any other software I have to upload to my PC before downloading the application? I'm on 3 Ireland and they haven't release skype for this phone here yet. Also Phone is on vodafone but unlocked, therefore I do not have 3 Ireland d=software installed yet
Thanks
you need another browser, like SkyFire for example
Hi guys, I've one question for who is using skype on three..Did you notice delays when someone is texting you? i mean, i get like 30 50 minutes delay on each text...is that normal?

Marketplace Browser and Downloader for Windows Phone 7

Zune is a wonderful application for finding and installing Windows Phone 7 applications on your phone. The other alternative is to use Market Place application in WP7 handset. If have an HTC HD2 which doesn't support WP7 officially, but thanks to XDA Developers and DarkForcesTeam, I am running WP7 on this handset with no issues.
Initially, when I upgraded, I couldn't connect to Windows Market Place and browse or install applications because of Windows Live Services Registration (which I later resolved). So, I wrote an app to resolve my problem.
What this application does is, that it allows to browse for free apps on the marketplace, and download them to your hard disk which you can later use to deploy to your handset manually (developer unlocked phone or ChebronWP7 unlocked phone). The interface is pretty simple and serves the purpose. The only pending thing is automatically deploying the downloaded application to the device, which I will leave for a later date (anyone to help me out with this).

EDIT: The first app listed in the first post is claiming that the device has to be unlocked. The second app listed in the post above is claiming that the app hasn´t a valid license.

I'm going to go with Chrome. I havve been using it exclusively for over a year now.
Fast, simple, clean, and easy. Also is light on resources and lets me do a lot of things in tthe background along with a ton of windows open.
Chrome has some problems with java sometimes so I switched to FireFox.
-FireFox has a slow start up n loading pages...
-Chrome had a fast start up and fast page loading but sometimes pages won't load so I had to press refresh.
-Opera had problems to when loading some java pages..

The amount of moving/animated/flying bannerd messages on 99% of internet websites has completely gotten out of hand. It is distracting, annoying, and causes pages to load much to slowly.

I might give that a shot. I guess I can have both IE8 & Chrome on my computer, but how about something that will work with IE8 ?
Anybody try this ? (from PC mag)
"Block Ads with InPrivate Filtering and Third-Party Filters
One reason I switched my default browser from IE to Firefox was that I could install an ad-blocking extension. IE8 doesn't support a similar add-on, but with a bit of effort, you can get almost the same level of stress-reducing ad blocking in IE8 that you can get in Firefox—using only IE8's built-in features. It's a three-step process.
First, turn on InPrivate Filtering by using Safety | InPrivate Filtering Settings and select Automatically Block. Click OK.
Next, add a Registry setting that turns on InPrivate Filtering by default so that you don't have to turn it on every time you start up IE8. In Notepad, create a text file with these three lines:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Safety\PrivacIE]
"StartMode"=dword:00000001
Save this file to your desktop with a name like "FilterOn.reg"; right-click on it; choose Merge.
Next, search the Web for files named Adblock for IE8.zip or EasyListIE8.zip, or search for "ie8 adblock xml list" or similar strings. You are looking for links to downloadable XML files converted from recent filtering lists created for Firefox's AdBlock Plus. Download one or more of these XML files to your desktop—you can use more than one without problems—and look at the files in Notepad to make sure that they're standard text files and not a dangerous executable program (scan them with your antivirus app first, just in case). In IE8, go to Tools | Manage Add-Ons, and click on InPrivate Filtering. Click the Import button, navigate to your downloaded XML file and click Open. IE8 will take a few seconds to process the list. Click Close. Now visit any normally ad-heavy site and enjoy the view of the site with few or no ads."
