CE OS 5.2.20757 - BUILD 20757.1.4.0
I will favor no language before others, so do not ask me to do your language first, then I will only put it off longer back in the line. And... no arguments about this.
RULES:
-I DO NOT PROVIDE BEGINNERS HELP ON COOKING.
-I AM NOT WRITING A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DO COOK, THERE ARE PLENTY AVAILABLE IF YOU USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION.
-I AM NOT ANSWERING PM, MSN OR EMAIL ON HOW TO COOK, SO DONT BOTHER
-ITS ONLY FOR XPERIA, DO NOT COOK FOR OTHER DEVICES, IT WILL NOT WORK, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
I know many will think im difficult or w/e. So be it. I dont need to explain myself
Tips:
Try to be active in this thread, both helping others, and to find answers to your questions.
Im not gonna be THAT difficult, I will ofcourse try to answer some questions (no, not the basics like, "how do I use this kitchen?")
well....
How to:
1. Download the Xperia kitchen, and extract to (pref) c:\Xperia Kitchen
2. Download the Base kitchen files, extract to c:\Xperia Kitchen
3. Download you language files (If available) copy them to the specified folders (noted on the folders within the .rar file)
Now..some basic editing needs to be done.
1. Edit the "mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml" file, change the entry(s) I have marked to your language (opens with notepad)
note this line please, its repeated many places in the "mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml" :
<parm name="Name" value="xxxxxxxx" datatype="string"/>
Do you see the xxxxxxx marked in red? thats the spot where you find the text you need to change..
DO NOT CHANGE VALUES OR TEXT ELSEWHERE, IF YOU DO SO, YOUR SYSTEM LANGUAGE WILL BE FU..D UP
So if we look again at the image where the highlight say "Advanced Network" If I was to change it to my language wich is norwegian it would be "Avansert nettverk"
So to make it even more understandable, you can download this file, open it and you will see one "mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml" file in wwe (thats world wide english) and one that I have translated to norwegian....
so that you can compare the two and see what changes is made to get a correct translation.
If the rom dont work, its not my fault, its your own. So dont blame me if anything go wrong
Download: Xperia Kitchen
Download: Base kitchen files (No language files) BUT: read the "how to"
Languages available:
German Language files
Italian Language files - NEW

Really good work done!
Ectracting from an *.nbh file works fine, but unfortunately
BuildOS gives me an emty window/package list.
I've tried two different *.nbh files. The Posts in this Forum
on this topic didn't help me out.
Anyone knows an solution?

what roms are you trying to work with? If its custom roms, most chefs have protected their roms, so what you experience is pretty common.

I tried Swedish rom from the thread where all xperia info is.

Sorry, my fault. Deleting directories is a way to remove
packages from rom. (I'm new to cooking roms)
For getting the checkboxes one needs an option.xml in
every package directory. (Infos about this file can be found
in the forum).
I used phnx lite rom and the original german one. Of course,
there aren't those option.xml files. Manually creating them
for every package is quite a lot of work, so a little batch
file would be useful to create them. Unfortunately I'm only
into other programming languages, not windows batch.
Or is there already an application that does this job?

not certain whats different but pagepool changer works on your version..
Just changed your latest to a 32mb pagepool, about to reflash to see if there's any difference.

yes I know, its patched

I'm just testing the package creator. Seems to work great.
But no, what I meant was to write a batch script, that
creates option.xml files for the application that are already
in the rom. Must be easy if one is able to write in batch
language, if one can, because it's always the same
mechanism.

If you can say what batch script needs to do I will write it.

@kulla:
Thank you.
In my opinion the following steps are nessecary:
As the script would be located in the 'Tools' Directory, the
working Directory would be the above one. Then it needs
to walk through the first subdirectories of 'OEM' and 'SYS'.
For every folder, except those containing the language key
(for example 409-english, 407-german, and so on), the
option.xml needs to be created.
Format:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16" standalone="yes" ?>
- <Items>
- <Item name="????" group="Built-IN" checked="true">
<Tip>????</Tip>
<Guid type="p">Number</Guid>
</Item>
</Items>
The Item name can be taken from the parent folder, the
Guid type from the name of the *.dsm file.
But attention should be paid to unicode file format of
option.xml.
Hope this will help.
@itje:
The package creator in the kitchen only works for english
and italian windows mobile devices. There's an newer
version, which is easier to use and makes less mistakes.
It's version 2.7 (although minor number than v5.4). With
the lang.xml file one can simply add new languages. In
the Posting there can already be found many. The newer always
contain the changes made before.
I think it would be in favor of the multilanguage charackter
of the kitchen to switch to the newer version.

I am trying cook my first rom. need some help...

Hi, i am trying to cook my first rom but i need some help. I red all those thread for beginners in cooking but i did not found anwer for my question. So, i want make a rom for HTC Touch HD. I want to make this rom at most similar to the shipped rom from Rhodium as it is possible. Now i have extracted stock rom for HD 1.56 WWE. It is build 20769 AKU 1.4.5. As i know some OEMs from Rhodium will not work under builds 21xxx. As i understand the next step what i need to do is to found build from rhoidum and replace it in my rom. The question is where can i find the rhodium build and how replace it? Thank you for help.
Rhodium packages can be found in the wiki, just download an official Rhodium ROM and dump it, the packages can be found there, only thing I can say, is update packages one at a time and flash afterwards.
an easy to use kitchen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420
Thank you for your reply EpiphanyNL. Now i have extraced both ROMs. Newest for Blackstone and newest for Rhodium. Both of them are shipped ROMs. I can see that in evirus kichen all packages are in this locations:
ROM1\dump\EXT\BlackStone\20769
and
ROM2\dump\EXT\Rhodium\21048
As i understand if i want update package i can just replace folder in blacktone extracted rom by this one from rhodium rom.
Now i need information what files/folders should i replace to make upgrade blackstone rom build from 20769 to 21048. Thank you.

Just put the packages found in ROM2\dump\EXT\Rhodium\21048 under ROM1\dump\EXT\Shared in a folder called Blackstone_Rhodium_Package or something like that.
I don't know what you mean with upgrade blackstone rom build from 20769 to 21048, there is no 21048 build for the blackstone.
Thank you again for your reply and for your patience. I really want start cooking but i need to be clear with undestanting what i am doing. Now i will try to explain you what i mean when i am talking about those builds.
When you go to setting, system and about item in your device you can see build of your windows mobile which you have flashed. Blackstone shipped rom which i have extracted has build 20769, rhodium shipped rom has 21048. Many times when i flashed my HD the build was different. Sometimes chiefs write on his post about released rom which build of windows mobile it is. Like you can see in post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3493473&postcount=2
there is information "CE OS 5.2.21051 (Build 21051.1.6.4)". Even one in your ROMs posts i found information "CE OS 1.59.709.0 & Build 23007".
The thing is that some packages from Rhodium wont work with build of windows mobile lower than 21000. ROM for blackstone which i have extracted has 20769 build so HTC Menu Enchacement package and HTC Nofitication Enchancement package will be not working on it. There is some thing about gwes.exe file.
So all what i need to know is how to make that ROM which i am cooking right now will have build of windows mobile the same like this ROM for rhodium (21048). I am talking about this build which you can check in the settings, system and about item.
I hope that you can undestand what i mean. Anyway sorry for my english if something is hard to undestand.
If i undestand something wrong about build of windows mobile then please explain me what really the build of windows mobile is depend on.
Thank you.
Hi,
You are welcome, I'm trying to help, but I'm still kind of new to cooking myself. I didn't even know about the HTC Menu enhancement and HTC Notification Enhancement not working on builds before 21000. I don't believe Leo (L26) has a +21000 build and both are working on them.
As I said earlier I'm also just a starter, I have been reading about porting XIP and stuff like that, but that's too advanced for me now.
What I would like to advise you is, start with a shipped blackstone ROM, dump it and cook it.
After that, start updating packages, one by one, flashing after each update. That way you can see, what each package does, what packages work on your OS build etc.
I don't know much about buildnumbers and OS versions, but I believe the last Shipped Blackstone ROM is the easiest way to go for us beginners.
Hope this helps a little.
No need to create a whole new thread, there are help threads specifically for chefs/kitchens:

I red those post but i cant find answer for my question about this how to change build of windows mobile in rom which you want to cook. Anybody can explain me how to do that?

When i want replace HTC Album should i remove package Album_2_5_19122926_0 from \EXT\BlackStone\20769\BlackStone_External_Packages and paste into the same place HTC Album package from rhodium or should i leave original HTC Album from blackstone and only copy new HTC Album package to \EXT\SHARED\Blackstone_Rhodium_Packages

Thank you.

[REQ] Some Blackstone Cooks to HELP in Testing Extendir Drivers

Many of you may have heard about Extendir by now, if not read more in the link below. I have been doing a lot of testing trying to help Shadrac the developer to get good working versions for our Blackstone. So far it seems to work good on some devices and not so well on some. We are getting close to a working version and I would like to ask for some help from my fellow Blackstone chefs to get more results and speed things along.
These Extendir drivers have great potential and combined with the PresetInstaller it gives the user a lot of flexability on installing and uninstalling programs which may only be needed once.
Extendir cabs is also great but it is a learning experience as to which packages work well cooked in after and some can be partially cooked in and partially installed after.
You can find more information here and follow the thread.

Just a few questions:
Did you used the Test13 build?
Bootphase is that on both places to 1?
Did you add wince.nls back to your xip?
Which kitchen are you using?
What OS build are you using?
If you want to, I could check your boot.rgu if you post it.
Thanks,

Hi ShaDrac,
Thank you for the efforts you are making to produce a quicker mobile! I really see future in this way of installing, I have a question though, will it be possible in the future, to make the cabs included in the ROM and run like a sort of autorun, or run cc? Removing them from the device after that's done, that way chefs can setup the device like they prefer and users would still be able to remove/install applications the extendir way.
To answer your questions:
Did you used the Test13 build? - Yes I did
Bootphase is that on both places to 1? - Yes they are
Did you add wince.nls back to your xip? - checked it twice, its in there
Which kitchen are you using? Using ervius kitchen
What OS build are you using? Using a ported xip/sys 21048 base OS is 20776
I used the boot.rgu and boot2.rgu (ofcourse renamed it) bob posted earlier here.
Hope this helps.

Hmmm, strange...
And if you are using your own boot.rgu and applied these setting?
I'm not sure but if I can recall it correctly there was a problem with UC. Don't know for sure...
But if you removed everything that has to do with customization...
Maybe it was something with autoshortcut or autorun... can't remember at the moment. (probably need to go to bed)
I hope Bob knows, he had the same problems early on, but I think he's not awake for another hour.
btw Test14 builds posted in Extendir thread.
Good luck and thanks for testing!

Hi,
I can test this on monday I hope. Then I will have some time again to do elaborate testing!
Send me your boot.rgu Epiphanynl. Your original that works without Extendir. Also your boot.ms.rgu in ROM \Shared\MSXIPKernel.
Have you removed any packages from either MSXIPKernel or OEMXIPKernel?
The boot .rgu I sent i for 6.5 not sure if it will work.
Are you using Preset Installer to install any cabs? If so try to do it without Preset Installer first. If you have it set to Automatically Start just select Exit Left Soft Key when it comes up.
Thanks for your help
Mine is working great on VTest 13 trying Test 14 now.

Of course newest build 23563 is attached.
In this version I changed:
- Removed BuildOS, replaced by my own engine called HimaBuilder.
- Added automatic rom version change
- Multilanguage support (\LANG folder)
- Added author info d)
What would not work (experimental)
- Building release of all languages, it takes much time and fails sometimes (sometimes only language of 409 will be build, non sense)
What not work/is removed:
- EXT support isn't ready yet to see the Xdadevs light.
- XIP automatic porting too.
Adding lanuguages into this kitchen:
Download any rollup which will match with your system version (6.1, 6.5, 6.5.x)
Look at \LANG\409 folders and copy same names of folders but with your lanugage into \LANG\YourLangage, example \LANG\408
Now download initflashfiles for all lanugages pack, and find your lanugage there.
Create new folder in \LANG\YourLanguage, and paste there your initflashfiles.
Now open this initflashfiles in notepad and save it as initflashfiles.txt.
Remove initflashfiles.dat.
Now go to LANG\409\OEM_Lang_0409 and copy all except initflashfiles.txt
You really mustn't overwrite initflashfiles.txt!
Paste files you copied into folder where you have initflashfiles.txt.
Run the kitchen and select your language id, now kitchen is ready to go

It worked at first attempt of brute force method. Trial and error!
Well, I guess, the power is with us wise senior members!
Otherwise, I could have asked you my friend, after trying luby at second attempt.
aero visual kitchen the best! BUT how to remove icons
i have now got the hang of your excellent Aero Visual Kitchen 5 but can u please let me know how to remove the feedback and error reporting icons out of the settings tab in the startmenu.
i have tried just deleting the icons using total commander but the folder shows no icons.
maybe the icons are in a .dll like shellres .96.dll or shellres.dll.0409.mui.
i have seen talk of how u can change or extract icons using res hacker
any ideas of which .dll or .exe or .mui need changing or deleting as having even one of feedback or error reporting in Aero Visual Kitchen 5's final output in my mind spoil's it.
initflashfiles.txt, you should search in those
tweeking shellres.96.dll to remove stuff.

i have now managed to remove the feedback and error reporting icons.
at first i thought it was just a matter of deleting the "Start_Icon_ " .png" for feedback and error reporting ie.
Start_Icon_Watson.png
and
Start_Icon_Feedback.png
in the kitchen and tweeking the initflashfiles.txt.
but that did not work. i have found that feedback and error reporting icons are also in "shellres.96.dll" so i had to use ROMExtractor, reshacker,mSigner and UnSigner to remove them after ROM install.
the resulting tweeked "shellres.96.dll" was then copy from my desktop pc and overwrite the original one on himalaya.
had to install "sdkcert.cab" also.
i also deleted in the kitchen before install-
ceipui.exe
dw.exe
dwxfer.dll
which are also part of feedback and error reporting.
does anyone know of a way of tweeking "shellres.96.dll" before ROM install as when i go to it on my desktop pc it is a folder with the title shellres.96.dll and in it these files
imageinfo.bin
imageinfo.txt
S000
no .dll that i can change with reshacker

THANKS
aeroflyluby,
Thank you for your work!
I could not do any russian ROM using the kitchen Aero Visual Kitchen 5 or Aero Visual Kitchen.Confusing many different folders, which can be forgotten.ROM with 0419.mui is going, but after flashing the device - a white screen.
Do,please 3 folder SYS, ROM, OEM.he new ROM(core) do - I do not know how to port XIP (many times I tried to do).Very interesting and just came up with Barin program "OS Builder"___wmclub.co.ua/index.php?newsid=1864_______
(have any new kitchen for the ASUS).You're like a programmer can adapt it for Himalaya?

What system do you have?
Did you install newest .NET? 2.0 at least, 3.5 recommended.

Aerokitchen 6 beta test :)

Hi
OMG Sorry I forgot to add password again
PASSWORD IS aerofly
Welcome to beta testing thread of aerokitchen 6.
First of all, link:
http://www.4shared.com/file/zQ-85Lyz/Aero6_Beta_pass_aerofly.html
Source is provided too.
Okay, the build is almost the same as previous kitchen release, but there is some really important technical differences:
XIP is really clean now, there was a boom of inneded **** inside, so I deleted it and placed wince.nls there. It saves sectors and boot time jupi
Also, kitchen now automatically updates file records in xip.
If you want to add something to xip as file:
Place a file in
SYSTEM\ROM\OUT\FILES
now create file named YourFile.YourExtension.imageinfo.txt
and fill it like this :
File name: yourfile.yourextension
dwFileAttributes: 00000007
ftTime: 01C90F33A4D5E600
nRealFileSize: 00043156
nCompFileSize: 00043156
lpszFileName: P+00195FEC
ulLoadOffset: P+002628E4
Kitchen will relocate it and update size. Good <ok>
Also xip is built ON THE FLY when building a rom, so any changes will automatically apply.
Because of xip auto rebuild, ramdisks don't work anymore (as in beta stage :<) But it is easy to recover that functionality.
Boot.hv does not exists now, boot.rgu is decompiled boot.hv, any changes made in boot.rgu (SYSTEM\ROM\BOOT) will apply while rom creation.
Also main stability of built roms increased a lot.
Test and post your response
I will be trying this for sure! Don't forget the password next time, thanks aeroflyluby!

When it stoped responding, xip has built beautiful words lol, we should sing it loud
The xip built has finished already
We are set, we are ready
to build new awesome rom
as beautiful as a bloom
A process take a long time
My laptop feels a battery drain
But a time that my rom has flashed
It smells good, as I wished.

Do you know the picture that is in the upgrade tool?

Is there a himalaya rom with that in or is this tool from another device?

hmmm... so it could be that there isn't enough storage on the himalaya. Because i have noticed that when my storage was nearly full the hima was really slow.
I have also found this manila customizer:

Aerokitchen 6 beta test HOW ABOUT THIS?
how about a version of this great kitchen that is not so standard.
so some theme and tweeks are allready built in like different font, keyboard skin, startmenu icons and stuff.
and also the main things everyone has like psShutXP and .NET Compact Framework 3.5.
the damn errorreporting and feedback gone...
and to top off some great welcomehead.96.png
how about it aeroflyluby

So build this version and release
ps, net cf 3.5 is included anyways.
I include error reporting and feedback because I love to release stock roms, as it comes it releases, just changed wallpaper and some messed images as buttons etc )
Anyway, I have never disabled this functions, I remembered how to disable but I forget.
just some feedback on kitchen.
i have noticed that the resulting ROM that comes out of it has the older wm 6.1 lock screen and not the tap and slide lockscreen.
what up with that?
and also in the TEST folder of the kitchen you seem to have left a lot of unneeded files like..
three sets of "RUULog.log" and one "Upgrade.7z" and one "Upgrade.rar" you are most likely planning to delete unneeded files from the kitchen on the final release i just thought i would mention in case you have overlooked them.
the smaller the download the better and all that!
keep up the great work...

Oh no you facked up the rom It has 6.5 lockscreen, you may not cook if you can't, okay?
I know I overcooked a lot of my debugs.
ok ok ok
ok you where right bro.
i recooked and reflashed and the lockscreen and everything so far is all good.
all i did was swap the defult theme files for the "hollblack theme" files (use search for hollblack theme on xdadev its quite a good theme) and that seems to have busted the kitchen somehow.
oh well we live and learn!
any ideas how this could of happened?

TSK files is cab files, you can dump it with ervius cab to oem or something, or edit with any CAB editor. Try to check there are no lockscreen entry in theme (or in registry of theme)
changing the registry in Aerokitchen 6 beta test ?
hey aeroflyluby.
can you tell me which file in Aerokitchen 6 beta is the registry so i can try changing, deleting etc. with a registry app like registry workshop.
i know that it is easy to change registry once the rom has been installed on device but i want to be able to tweek it in the kitchen.
it will also help with what we are doing in the thread "[Q] some .exe that could be removed from most himalaya rom's ?"
i know in Aerokitchen 6 beta that there is a registry window but i cant work out how to use it ?
any ideas?
i know that the registry in this-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378498
in this it can be done easy in registry workshop that puts the registry in a more easy to read format.
merged with next post...
hey aeroflyluby ...
i see in your Aerokitchen 6 beta test that there is no "welcomehead.96.png" in-
SYSTEM\Redist_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320
is this the way it should be?
today i used Aerokitchen 6 beta test and added a "welcomehead.96.png" to-
SYSTEM\Redist_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320
and the "welcomehead.96.png" showed up at install no problem.
so is this a oversight or have i got it wrong maybe?

[App] Samsung Keyboard from Touchwiz for CyanogenMod ROMs

This app was initially ported by MadTeam's member DSM. It just needed a twist to make the 3x4 portrait mode work... and I found it!
It works a 99% ok, but...
Known bugs:
Low Importance:
Description: Some (Ok) | (Cancel) labels don't show up in buttons.
Workaround: Left button is OK, right button is Cancel
Medium Importance:
None.
High Importance:
None so far. Neat!
Important Information:
Languages included in this release are:
Spanish
Portuguese
English (US)
English (UK)
Italian
The APK was tested in many CM7.2 ROMs. Squadzone's, and Unnofficial CM7.2 (haven't tried the official nightlies but it should work too). Included dragnan's fix from this post. He fixed the "add word makes the app FC bug"!! Thanks!!
The APK is reported to work in CM10 too so it probably works in all CM versions. I haven't tested myself yet.
Attached file to post so it won't die.
Installation:
You can download the zip file from the link below and apply via Clockworkmod... and that's about it! Then all you have to do is activate the Samsung Keyboard in your settings and you're good to go! Hope it works for all of you and post back with your feedback!
Please vote in the poll, I can't promise I'll be able to do it but I can promise that I will try my best! First I'll try to get rid of the bugs in this app and then I plan on moving on to the most voted app in the poll, so your feedback is important! <-- Probably won't have the time to do this in a looong time, sorry

I've checked parasmi's emanoN ROM thread and found only Skype and AOSP Gingerbread keyboard (which is default in CyanogenMod 7) I have not found the Samsung keyboard that comes with stock Touchwiz phones. That is one of the reasons I created this thread. If I'm mistaken please point me to the file or the thread where the keyboard you are refering about is located so I can check it out.
I've also added some screenshots in OP of the ported Keyboard to clarify.
Root shouldn't be neccessary. Simply apply the zip via ClockworkMod and you're good to go.
Input languages
First of all i would like to say Hallo to everyone because i am new at this forum and i am also new in the world of Android.
I have a simple question. Is there any way to insert some new input languages in CM7?I am from Serbia and i need T9 dictionary which i had on my stock Froyo?I have a back-up of T9DB folder from Froyo which contains all dictionaries. Can i use that folder and paste him somewhere in my phone so i can use them?

You can try but the keyboard apps from Froyo and GB are different so I'm not sure it will work. You need 3 files that look like this:
phonepad_XX.kdb
qwerty_XX.kdb
Samsung_400_XXlsUN_xt9.ldb
where XX is the two letter code for serbian (i.e. "es" for spanish, "en" for english, etc).
You should paste the three files inside the /system/T9DB folder, give them the same permissions as the other files and then select Serbian language in the options.
I don't know which is the code for serbian but if you tell me I can try help you find the GB version. Most likely it would be found in a branded firmware from your country
I will try this and let u know if it worked.Code for my country would be SR.
Thanks for helping me.

I didn't get you wrong I just didn't see that thread (don't know how could I miss that) please everyone ask whatever you need and I'll do my best to answer
So for your questions:
1. Yes, it's the same app, I just tested parasmi's on my phone. But they are different ports so they may behave differently, I guess you should try both and see which one suits you best.
2. No, you don't need to include twframework.jar or any other file. I've packed everything needed in the .zip file I uploaded. Just apply via CWM
I hope I have answered your questions
Can u port the stock gallery app to work on cm??

I have tested it several times in my phone and it's working just fine. I'm using tj_style's CM7.1.0
I'll be happy to help you find the problem but please give more details.
Was the .zip file applied correctly via CWM? Did it show any errors?
Can you find the "Samsung Keypad" option in your settings? (like on 1st screenshot) Are you sure you have selected it as input method??
I am using the same ROM.Installation of samsung keyboard (if you are talking about that zip) went smooth with no errors.I am using that keyboard with 3x4 layout and everything works great, only problem is that i don't have serbian T9 dictionary and i don't use xT9.I have imported 3 different files with same code like you told me to.Gave them permissions and change owner to be like other files in T9DB folder, reboot my phone but nothing happened.I still don't have serbian language on list of input languages in samsung keyboard settings.

Then Froyo dictionaries are not compatible with the Gingerbread App I'm afraid
I have searched but so far I couldn't find any Gingerbread ROM with Serbian language. Perhaps you could play around with CheckFusDownloader (it's a windows app, search the forums) and see if you can find an official Gingerbread ROM for any of your country's CSCs where you can extract the language files from. I'll keep looking too but can't promise anything, sorry.
More info: I pulled the Serbian language files from the latest official serbian GT-S5830 ROM (it was a long shot but worth trying) and had no luck also I noticed that serbian doesn't even show up amongst the languages to select and the list is fixed no matter how many are installed...
@lexonic did you have any luck with CheckFusDownloader? Can you find out and post here your product code to see if some gingerbread is available for your specific product code?

It might have something to be with the theme you're using. If you are using a custom theme please try changing to the default CM7 theme and see if you still have the issue
