By default only Opera, Picture Album, YouTube apps use landscape mode. The rest of the applications do not. There are a few 3rd party apps like Gyrator.. that would give you the landscape mode functionality for all the apps.

[Q] ADW Launcher - Preveting Landscape mode

I am using AOSP YMCA Gingerbread ROM 1/28 and I notice I get lag on my screen when it switches into landscape mode. Is there a way of preventing it from going into landscape mode?
Do you want just ADW to stop switching, or every program (except youtube or apps that run natively in landscape)?
Landscape
You can actually turn off auto landscaping.
Home Screen -> Menu -> Display, then uncheck auto-rotate screen. Applications like youtube will still be able to rotate when you put them into landscape.
I think that's what you're requesting.
Thank you that fixed it

On the homescreen, yes. However any apps that support landscape mode do not need the keyboard out.
I discovered if you use a third-party launcher (LP, myself), the setting for autorotate in the launcher preferences allows homescreen rotation. I'm rotating now...
I've found an app that forces rotation on individual apps. Its called Smart Rotator and it is amazing!

[Q] Permanent landscape mode

If I want the screen permanently in portrait mode I can switch off "Auto rotate screen".
But how can I achieve permanent landscape mode?
(I'm on ICS)
Many thanks.

What're you using ?
If you are using touchwiz landscape is impossible.
For some other launchers(like Apex) set orientation to permanent landscape
I'm running LauncherPro over ICS. But in fact my problem is solved as I'm successfully in permanent landscape mode thanks to the app "Ultimate Rotation Control".

Force fullscreen on apps

Is there any way to force apps to go full screen. I was wondering because my keyboard I Downloaded goes under the navbar in landscape mode. Its also nice to have the extra screen space. Thanks
I have wondered the same thing. I have looked through so many settings, and cant find a answer in my settings or here.

[Q] Auto Rotate in Album

Hey all
I typically like to use my phone in portrait mode, and only want to rotate when I'm watching videos or when I'm viewing photos.
I have used rotate switches, and whilst they work perfectly, I was wondering if there is a solution to what I want.
Is there a mod/app/rule that we can set up so that the phone enables auto rotation in the Album? even if the screen is locked to portrait?
thanks

I use adaptive rotation lock. This has the ability lock apps in different modes.

^Yeah even I prefer to keep my phone in portrait mode at all times, so I know that it's kinda annoying to toggle it on/off every time before opening the album app!
Although I couldn't find any solution for the same, there is a simple workaround. Just search for "ScreenRotate Small App" in Play Store. Using this, at least you could save yourself the hassle of navigating through the Settings every time to toggle it on/off!
you can use Tasker and create a rule to turn on auto rotate when you open the gallery (and other) apps and turn off auto rotate when you exit it

In the Tasks, you create one for turning on auto-rotate (action -> display -> display rotation -> on) and one for turning off (action -> display -> display rotation -> off). So there's 2 tasks total for this. Then in profiles, create one based on Application context, choose the applications you want and hit back, then pick the Enter task (auto-rotate on). Then long-hold the Enter task that just showed up, and choose Add Exit Task, where you'll pick the auto-rotate off task.
If you still need help (and if I have time later), I can add screenshots of the process.
