you can use it on any windows mobile device. Sometimes it's disabled, but if you look for a cab named enablerecognizers.cab you should be able to enable it again. I'll try to attach it to this post.

don't you have transcriber or block recognizer as options when you click the little arrow next to the softkeyboard icon at the bottom.
Not SE specific, just part of winmo..
there's also the commercial but rather good
http://www.phatware.com/index.php?q=product/details/calligrapher as an option

Of course i have it by default in he WindowsMobile
but
In the OLD Sonyericson, like the P900 or the p990 ...
the screen was splieted into two part, the top and the bottom.
if you write in the top part of the screen, the phone reconize numbers, if you write in the bottom, it reconize letters, and if we write in bothe side, in reconize in CAPITAL LETTERS.
Voila...
excuse me for my poor english !

SMS and T9 for Kaiser

Hi all.
I've bought HTC TyTN II and i'm waiting for the shipment...
I've seen on the web that TyTN II doesn't have the virtual numeric keyboard for writing SMS with T9, but only for phone calling.
I'd like to know if i can install phone pad international on Kaiser or not. If yes, does it overwrite also the virtual keyboard for phone calling or only add the virtual one for SMS?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english.

Wishlist for Tools, Programms, Files inside a "perfect" cooked ROM

Hi,
i start here a wishlist where all breeze owners should post witch programms/tools,... should be in, in a perfect rom.
I will edit the first post to hold it up-to-date with our suggestions...

ConnTweak (Tool to edit automatic Datacall Hangoff)
RegEdit
AutoKeyLock (Tool to set automatic Keylock timeouts, with Screensavers)
WM5torage (if you don't know the tool -> -> use the Phone as "USB-Stick")
OperaMini (Java Browser but much faster and easyer to use then anything else!!! Just give a try!)
Call Firewall + SMS Blocker
TCPMP

Windows PhotoContacts 3.0
maybe should be in but seperatly installable:
SmartToolKit
GenTimer (its not free, thats the problem)
1st Thanx for this =)
Must have apps:
WIndows Live Messenger
Office 6
Swedish T9 [yeah dammit, I'm king of T9 even if I'm a n00b of upgrading my phones ]
Will add when/if I comes up with more stuff.
I haven't rellay become a good friend with Opera mini [or Opera at all...] I try and I try... but as long as there's IE as well I'm fine =)

i prefer opera because of the mobileview ... you see the whole page and then can zoom into small parts... the ie on smartphone is very unuseable... also when you use ebay you cant press on some buttons (java buttons and so on...)
i hope i can insert T9 in every language... i miss t9 in german for me too... but i'm workin on it

Looking for an HTC program

On my brother's Touch Pro and on several WM 6.1 ROMs for my Wizard, there's an HTC program. When you click on any of the icons in the top right corner (Connectivity, Phone, Volume, Battery, etc) it would pop up a full screen menu, making it easy to choose which one without a stylus.
Does anyone know what it's called and if I can get it on my TyTN II with a cab?

Best keyboard when not using QWERTY?

Hi, i'd like to know which keyboard do you use when you dont use de qwerty one. Ive seen some CAB files but i really dont know "which one is better". I think its about taste, but that why i ask you all, to know which one do you all use so i can "think" about which one will i use
thank you very much!!!!
I use sometimes fingertouch and sometimes default WM one.....
i'd say "FingerKeyb 2.1" is the best one so far... It's free, it's good, it's even customizable (just a bonus, not necessary) x1 has wvga-resolution, download the right cab!
Ezinput is even better (made by HTC), but it messes up the hw-keyboard, makes it unusable. there are others like SPB etc, but they're not free and definitely not better than FingerKeyb.
one problem they all share is the small screen of the x1, unless you have really really tiny hands.
Well, I never use software keyboard in landscape. In portrait I use the default WinMo one haha. I have the SPB keyboard as well, but it is kinda ugly. From time to time the Bulgarian keyboard is pretty useful. The Resco keyboard is very nice too.
The XT9 keyboard is good for landscape and portrait. Um.. I have one called "fullscreen keyboard", but I don't remember where I got it from lol.

That's like me. Even if it's small, has the best functionality.
Always come back to it. And it supports gestures!!

This on is fantastic but has one big flaw:
once you have it, you cannot enter any other keyb. or handwriting.
Bad.

Not true, u can still install CE star, it has handwriting capabilities which can work for English characters. Does anyone know of the new EZ input keyboard which Agent_47 used to package in his manila 2.5 rom? It looks real good and was large enough, but pretty laggy. Does anyone have the cab? I want see if its laggy on a non manila 2.5 rom
XT9
Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494026
It has large finger-friendly keys and allows for fast text entry with the feel of the old-style phone keypad.

Yep, xt9 is my choice too. It has t9, doesn't mess up with hw keyboard and has really big (virtual) buttons.

True, I'm not talking about CE Star
but the whole input menu gets covered so you cannot use
anything else.
I got Fingerbeyboard and HTC Touchit keyboards, and finally i chose fingerkeyboard
thank you all for your answers !!!
I'm an XT9 user too. (Used SKTools to force it to be the dafualt on rebooting so I didn't hve to keep changing from the std one).

do you mean the sip selector? (tiny triangle at bottom of screen- i think!!)
if so, in fingerkeyboard settings, in the 'options' tab you can choose to 'show bar' in portrait or landscape. this will then will allow you to use the sip selector, and also the soft keys
fingerkeyboard and softtouch maxkeys gets my vote
spb keyboard. its a really nice keyboard, easy to write with. also has options to add vibrations when u touch a key if u like that sort of thing.

Has Transcriber been removed from WM 6.5?

Before I upgrade my TD2 to 6.5, I need to be sure that Transcriber hasn't been removed. It's the only reason that I use WM, so pretty catastrophic for me if its been dropped. I've checked the new 6.5 manual on the HTC site and there's no mention of it in the input options.
Thanks

i don't see it anywhere...looks bad man...i'm sure there is someone who can wrap it up in a cab for you... ?
check this thread in combination with the list in here - hope this helps
Transcriber is still included with ROM dumps. I personally don't cook it in my roms. Also EzInput will kill the default SIP menu.
I don't know if any cooks cook include that.
I have Diamond 2 with official wm6.5 ELL
Transcriber does not exist. Neither Letter Recognizer.
I'm going to beleive that official ROMs suck. If there was the guarranty limitation, I have already shifted to an English or cooked ROM.

Thanks, I was originally following that thread, but as it was for the block recogniser l was discouraged. Perhaps I'm one of the few that use Transcriber.
However the link you provided to sip registry Keys was enough to make me upgrade. l carefully followed the procedure and it bricked the TD2. A hardware / factory reset brought it back.
transcriber workaround
No, you are certainly not the only one using transcriber!!
To make it work again, locate it in the \windows directory and drop a link into the start menu. You can then always start it as a program and switch back to finger input by the standard input selection. Should transcriber start such that more than half of the display is unusable for input, just switch from portrait to landscape and back - everything should look good then!
As stated, it's just a workaround, but it works 100% and isn't too bad in handling!
Have fun, André

You will be pleased to know that it is back, as a download from HTC web site.
You have to install after updating to latest ROM.
Here's the link to the worldwide HTC site for the block transcriber. They have it for the Rhodium and Touch Diamond 2
Hope this helps
I've changed my reg value to 00000000 etc to allow the install of the update, and its given me back the block recogniser and letter recogniser but not the transcrber
d0oes anyone know how to restore transcriber?
fixed after changing the reg, and downloading the update, you then need this transcriber cab
