hello,
I have HTC QTEK 9100 with:
ROM VERSION - 1.6.7.1 WWE
ROM DATE 11/28/05
RADIO VER 01.12.10
PROTOCOL VER 4.0.13.23
EXTROM VER 1.6.7.101
if this ROM vers are good and are there need to upgrade it ?
if yes from where i can download working rom vers ?

hi, what are diference between my ROM and your adviced ROM ver ?

Hi, i used to use your rom before my current and it was quite a good rom but the aku2 rom i suggested is better
1. Has push email - so your email arrives in a way that your sms's does, almost instantly.
2. Rom is more stable - no more spontaneous soft reset's or dropped calls
3. Battery life is noticeably better.
4. Device is a bit quicker
5. Calls using the phone are better because it has an updated radio.
6. Downside is 2 line date - can be sorted with lvmtime and battery on taskbar - can be covered with same program.

Hi ,
Is this the latest normal rom, i mean not tweaked, tinkered or modified ?
I looked in the FTP server but the numbering system for the roms is not really clear...
Since i am Dutch i don't mind a Dutch version...
Does it have A2DP ?

I assume you have a t-mobile vario - latest official dutch rom is here http://www.t-mobile.nl/zakelijk/med...y_2210205_22102108_021911_TMO_NL_DUT_Ship.exe
You can stop the t-mobile extras installing by doing as soft reset just before they install. None of the roms mentioned include a2dp but there is an easy addon for that look at the a2dp addon thread.

And is it newer than the above mentioned Qtek ?

Its newer than the above qtek rom the first few numbers give it away 2.21 vs 2.17 the higher this first number the newer the rom.
There is a newer qtek rom 2.8 something but its a test rom but you can get it in dutch. Only problem is that when you boot up it says test rom and some people have noticed a memory leak, but it does have a2dp included but many have reported it does not work that well with this rom.

Those icons are part of the ROM. All ROMs of the AKU 2.1 variety are going to have those icons in place.
That said, if I were you I would immediately downgrade back to a 1.x ROM and do a CID unlock before upgrading. You don't NEED to do it if you stay with operator ROMs, but if you ever want to use a custom ROM in the future it's something you'll want to do.
The CID encryption changed somewhere between 2.17 and 2.21 and the unlocking tools no longer work. If you upgrade to a bootloader that is version 2.21 or higher you will not be able to use the current downgrader tool and you will not be able to use lokiwiz02b to unlock the CID. At that point the only option is to pay imei-check.co.uk to do the job. Might as well take the free route while you can.

I use lvmtime - it covers over the battery icon and levenum has done a good job with it. (new version expected soon) see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45084

New Extracted RomWWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108

I received a new machine bought in Thailand which was loaded with Dopod version, AUS version.
In my own DOPOD D810, I have been using good old wince 5 version 1.23, tried many times to load wince ver 6 and in all cases changed back to the officially old good version 5.
I was very impressed from the performance of the new Dopod d810 (loaded) with wince 6. and decided to load mine as well.
I tried some of the available “cocked” / “Edited” versions (3.0) and in all cases because of added Extended Rom utilities and modification applied to the version, it is slow and does not provide the ability to direct the machine to ALL users requirements.
I use the Trinity to keep my Contacts, use its Notes writing capabilities sometimes logon reading my mail and very heavily use it’s navigation S/W (IGO) in many countries.
When trying to load the Dopod “ship” version, it won’t work. The RUU is loading new SPL and check for “Vendor ID” (originally mine is DOPOD CHT, modified to Super CID). Therefore I took the original “ship” version RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108_Ship.rar and using NBH tools and some other available utilities here, I packed the above version in a “loadable” RUU which allows me to enjoy the speed and slick of the wince 6 (finally). Talking to other friends, owners of Trinity I understood that I was not alone.. How do I learn more about packing my own version of the ruu like this?

Create your own rom....
In fact all details are in the WIKI... however, briefly, you should use NBHtools , use the existing batch, or modify it to your needs. after you get all the parts spited, rename name and re-build you own version... I Replaced the SPL supplied with the original Dopod version with a "safe" one. Use the custom RRU and you can either build an exe file (using RAR) or just pack the files together.
Try going through the WIKI. That is a must before you try anything. Also please be aware that you can easily break your device and "brick" it. so be careful.

When I bought the model earlier from HK ,I had the following.
ROM Version 1.40.721.3(21259)
Radio:0.27.30.
Protocol version : 12.27.30.09H
Initially after my first Flash of this new Rom, I found the Jade very very slow and slugish,and the most importantly the Radio would not work.So I went back to the earlier Rom and I used Jade-Hard-SPL_V41 by Olinex.(I was using the earlier Version) and I Re flashed the Asia Rom again.
Every think worked perfectly now ,and this Rom is much better and definitely faster,than the earlier one ,and i feel it consumes less battery.Not sure if all this info, is of any use to any body.
But still surprised that HTC does not accept my SN even now.Maybe they are bringing out a different version for HK.This one seems to be the Singapore,KL version.

does this ROM have Simple CHINESE language ???

Ok here's my quick review of the ROM after using it a couple of days:
I have never flashed my current Jade with a third party ROM ever. I bought it with it's stock ROM from Maxis Mobile Malaysia (Malaysia's No. 1 Mobile Service Operator) and never modified it. I flashed this new ROM and I notice several improvements but also some downsides.
1. Much better Opera experience. Link selection is better. Opera is much more responsive to screen taps for selecting links, pages load fast and snappy.
2. GPS is fast and much better at geolocation.
3. We finally have the "Map Search" tab but it won't work until you install Google Maps on your device, which means you can't install Google Maps on your SD card which is bad since the map cache can take up to 40MB of memory on your device.
4. Much more free memory on the device.
5. Overall device is faster.
6. We now have slide to answer and slide to ignore by default in TouchFlo
7. Call volume is a little softer than before
8. Calls may drop sometimes but it's unclear if it's the phone's fault or the carrier error.
9. Touchflo's kinetic scrolling in favourite people tab and programs tab is a little choppy compared to the silky smooth scrolling for both these tabs in the stock ROM. Not a deal breaker though.
10. Camera is faster and smoother.
11. New htc boot screen
12. New Opera boot screen
That's about it I'll update more if I remember. Am I happy with the ROM upgrade? Yes I am...

Anybody use the garmin mobile xt with this new rom? does this new rom fix the satelite signal display issue?

If you update your ROM using official ROM provided by HTC, it won't affect your warranty. just download the file and run the installer, follow the on screen instruction, no need HSPL

I want to commend you on a great ROM. The inclusion of Chinese support in a WWE ROM is great! Furthermore, this ROM looks like the stock ROM and seems speedy after a few tweaks with HD Tweak.
For me, it runs faster than Duttys 2.9 ROM that I was running. Thanks again for the great work.

Can the original HTC stroke input method be extracted and make it a CAB files? It can be very handy for people who loves to test with different ROMS.

It could be usless as it conflict with original HTC english IME.

Why Upgrade Radio Version?

Hi everyone,
Been using my BA for years now(4th one so far ) runing Sundreams 6.1 with radio version 1.06.02
Rom 6.141WWE HT4.20
ExtROM Black Kernel
rom Date 10/31/08
I know the latest radio version is 1.15 and here is my NOOB question
should I upgrade my radio version to 1.15 ???and BT version to whatever is latest or availabe??
I just dont know why?
Have no problem with it as is other than all the usual 6.1 glitches(wlan/ no radio after battery removed)
OOh right While I am asking, Why an earth I loose voip config after a soft reset? I use wm6 voip drivers and Sip conf tool by Shaun33 version 2.0.1 once i configure it works ok if I soft reset I have to re enter all the config via this tool otherwise no voip!! Any ideas?

It has some advantages (especially over the one that you have). Better voice quality, better signal, slightly better battery life, among other things.
As far as the voip, I cannot help you there, but if you go to the thread where you got this, I am sure someone had your same issue.

Thanks for your reply, Can radio be upgraded regardless of the windows version running. I have all the files to do the upgrade but not sure if its ok to do so whilst running wm6.1 Sundreams version or does it needs to be reverted back to wm2003 etc etc.

the radio rom is independant from the OS Rom. technically, you don't even have to hard reset afterwards.
