[HELP] Flashing gone wrong??? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It looks like that i bricked it.
Here is what I have done.
I used Hard SPL Utility and got it to say 0.72.Olinex
After that I used TouchIT 4.5 to flash it. it went through but after going through calibration it now keeps rebooting. Sony Ericson screen comes on. disapears and reboots.
Please anyone help

hard reset didnt work either

flash it with other rom and see. boot to tri color screen and start your flashing, computer can recognise it

tried that I am getting update error 262

ok its official the phone is dead. it gave me 270 error then rebooted. and done. doesnt even want to power on.

I just want to tell you that flash hard-spl is something different then flash a rom...
Each one has his own software for flash...
So first is to hard-spl your xperia...
And then i recommend you to flash the rom phone via the microSD
Just rename the touch-it 4.5 to KOVSIM.nbh and put it to the root of the MicroSD..Then restart your phone with Volume down and power button together...And then follow on screen instructions
Note maybe you should try to read this thread, study a little and then flash.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=477801
Good luck....

well I have used the one inlucded in X1_HardSPL_Utility.zip from one of threats here.
then I used the Touch-IT_v4.5.rar
i even tried X1_RUU_ROM_UpdateUtility
dont know what I did wrong.
now it doesnt even power on.

Satrange i have like 10 times and no problem...
Just pull the battery out try it on again...
Maybe you should download and official rom...or original are the same
The ones ins PavelX1 thread...
And Flash with ones of them via MicroSd...
MicroSd method is much safe than rom update utility...Remember to have at least 50% battery....This is very important..
Dont worry you phone is not broken...

try flashing using SD card, search the forum for the method
edit : too late for the reply, hope you get it working.

Try booting to tri-color boot screen (decrease volume button + power on button)

thing is it doesnt power on now
removed battery, put it on power only nothing.

It won't boot without the battery no matter what you try.
Leave the phone on charge overnight then try flashing a new rom using the SD method.
Did you make sure you had a decent battery level (>50%) before you started flashing your rom??

it had 100% it flashed and I even calibrated the screen on reboot. but after that it started rebooting continuosly. I dont know if it juiced it out. well I will leave it on charge for some time to see if that helps.

Maybe try to recharged it?????
Mybe battery is empty
It may sound like a joke but charged the phone...?
Does it make something when you connected to the wall charger?
If so wait until it recharges about 4 hours and then try it again...
If it flashes then your xperia is not broken....
Some others users have this same issue with that rom...
So maybe try and official rom trust me flash it via microSD method always
Rename the official rom to KOVSIMG.nbh and the copy to the root of the microSD memory

shoudl something blink or is there is indicator if it is charging when plugged in the wall charger?

yes, the LED above the USB connector on your mobile should be blinking.
if the battery went flat completely, it will take some time to start blinking.

Not sure... might dep the rom.
Normally my led's flash/glow... but I haven't had a look at it charging whilst the phone is off.
Charge it for half an hour or so and then try to get the boot loader up (hold power and volume down to turn on).
If the boot loader (striped screen) starts you should be able to fix a bad flash.
Turn the phone off and charge it overnight
get a rom you know (the .nbh or .image file) and rename it "Kovsimg.nbh"
put the Kovsimg.nbh file on the root directory of your storage card (you might want to take the card out of your phone and put it in a card reader to do this)
boot your phone in boot loader mode (hold power and volume down)
follow the prompts to install the good rom.
After its complete, reset your phone (either by putting your stylus in the reboot hole or taking the battery out)
All should be good

well 30 mins and no flashing lights, power button doesnt work. connecting to PC doesnt work. I am out of ideas.

charmer dead...

flashed charmer with wizard...an now its totally dead...cant enter boot....anyone can help...
dead - can you describe it better? is it freezing in the splashscreen? or not powering on completely? have you tried to charge it using normal charger, not usb sync cable?
what about bootloader, dead too? try to hold camera button and press reset. if three color bars appears, you have a reason to stay calm.

complitely dead...not powering...cant enter boot...
hmm, it looks bad. I don't have any valuable ideas...but:
maybe you may try to charge battery in another charmer. When I bought my one, directly after unpacking the box, it wasnť able to start. I was angry, but then ve have tried to charge the battery in my friend's charmer and it worked (the battery was not completely discharged, but maybe some electronics inside was somehow blocked)
otherwise, you can try to diagnose electric circuits inside - but do it carefully, you may easily damage it!
speaker charmer
it has production defect. the HTC has knowledge of this... and is about one reparation in warranty. [[]]

I have a problem with my mda compact II and it was almost like describe.
after i tried to upgrade my pda, the update went to the end and finished successfully, the pda doesn't turn on, it shows the t-mobile image and then goes off, if i press camera button and turn on button i can see the tree colors, but what should i do now?
help me please.
use official t-mobile rom (in t mobile official page, difficult to find, get the link from the XDA-Wiki).
1. put your charmer into the 3 colour screen mode
2. kill your activesync in your PC (or just disable USB link)
3. run the EXE of the offical ROM
Do it before your battery went dead.

try leaving it off with the battery in and plugged in for about an hour to see if you can get a charge, otherwise use another battery that is fully charged. Only other way is to use a SD backup which you can then install with the power cable plugged in.
also you do not need an activesync link to install ruu rom packages. also long as your in bootloader with usb showing in the corner, the ruu will be able to find it.

can i install in bootloader from sd card?
well, now i can turn on the bootloader but when i'm trying to install the rom from t-mobile gives me some errors in the nk.nbf...

N1 not booting up...LED flashing orange-green-green

Hi,
i need some help trying to figure out what do i need to do to get my N1 to function again.
I had KiNgxKxNexus Desire2Nexus (v1) ROM loaded on my N1. i don't know for what reason i tried to load latest intersectRaven's Kernel(20100421_2237-the update.zip version)on top and that's when i start having issues. After i loaded the .zip file, phone rebooted and it was stuck/looping on the HTC screen for about 10 min.
I removed the battery and since then i cant get it to boot. all i get is a flashing LED (top right side)--looping on orange-green-green.
removed battery, SIM, SD card.
I plugin the wall charger(with no battery) and same issue.
when i put battery back in, i get the LED red, and if i try to power it on, i get same loop - orange-green-green.
tried to connect N1 to PC, and use adb, but PC its not seeing the phone.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Just go into recovery and wipe then flash your desired ROM.
You get a similar sequence, when you try to start the phone without the battery pack (with just the charger). I tried that to help someone in another thread, so just remember the phone won't start without its battery.
I don't remember the exact orange/green sequence in my case (and don't have the charger with me right now), but i guess that either your battery pack died coincidentally or that there is some other low-level hardware problem. The red light could also indicate an empty battery (that maybe broken and won't charge).
Can you borrow a battery from someone? I wouldn't try to use your battery in another phone to be safe though.

i cant go into bootloader or recovery. tried the power+trackball, power+vol down... no luck. - my PC doesn't see the phone to use adb.
when i turn the phone on, my screen its black...i don't get anything on the screen.
i got it to work.
over nite i left the battery out of the phone. this morning i put the battery in, plug in the wall charger, and turn the phone on (power+trackball) and i got to bootloader. from there i was able to go in recovery and fix my phone.
hey, thats great! please have a look at the battery from time to time, if the phone gets hotter than normal.
I have the same problem, but not because i flashed , but I put strange extra battery in , that didn't worked, And N1 was just flashing orange, green , orange, green, 1 sec interval ...
I put new one in and worked like a charm.
Don't buy from 4U-kidi. Dead battery!

[Q] Phone stucked after Task29!

Hi,
Some weeks ago, after flashing/testing my cooked rom & using Task29, my TP2 was stucked on the 1st logo screen and I desesperately tried to flash a rom either using the sd card/bootloader method but it remains on 0%.
After many many tries, I was finally able to flash roms again but yesterday when I used Task29, I noticed that the progress bar flashed from 0-100% in less than 5seconds (It was very fast which is not normal). Usually this process takes at least some 20seconds to complete. After that, my phone is again stucked at the 1st logo screen.
Edit for update : Phone is working again! Don't know how but it just flashed today!! I think I have tried at least 70-100 times before it decides to start flashing!!
It's normal that task29 is a lot quicker than a regular ROM flash. Also, after the task29, it's normal that the phone hangs on the startup screen, because it hasn't got a ROM to load any more. What you need to do is put it into the bootloader (hold down the Volume Down button and press reset), wait till it comes up and says "Serial" on the tri-coloured screen, then plug into the PC and that should change to "USB".
Then you should be able to go ahead and flash a ROM. I presume you have HardSPL ? (I guess so, or task29 wouldn't have worked).
thanks for the reply. Yes, indeed I know the process of task29 since I have been flashing a lot of times. The fact is that the last time I did the task29, the progress bar completed in a flash (i mean, it jumped from 0% to 100% faster than usual). And since that, phone is stucked again at the logo screen. The last time I got this problem, I had tried to flash numerous times for 2 full weeks before the phone finally flashes a rom. Is it that task29 screwed the phone's memory/bootloader? Forgot to mention that it is a Vodaphone UK Rhod100 model.
Ah ok, sorry for misunderstanding.
I wonder if something odd has happened to your HardSPL. Is it still showing "0.85OliNex" ? I wonder if re-doing HardSPL might help ?

Yes, it's still on Olinex hardspl - can't re-do the hardspl since everything I tried is stucked at 0%.
What was the last thing that happened when the phone was still working ? You mentioned that you were testing a cooked ROM, is that your own cooked ROM ? Are you sure you haven't bricked your phone ?
Well, the problem started right after using task29 yesterday night - so the rom is not at fault because I flashed the same rom many times before. Phone also was working fine (never dropped or no damages - still in mint condition). What do you mean by "bricked your phone"?
What I was wondering is whether you cooked your own ROM yourself, and this is somehow responsible for the current state of your phone (e.g. by cooking in something damaging to the phone). But it sounds like this isn't the case.
Previously, some people have reported problems like this when there's a USB problem. Have you tried a different USB cable, just to see if that helps ? Or looking very closely at the pins of the USB connector on the phone to see if they could be damaged ?
You mention that flashing by SD card doesn't seem to work either. Have you had that working ok before ? Because sometimes it can be sensitive to the make of SD card, as well as how it's formatted.
thanks for the advices, steviewevie. I really appreciate All the usb pins seems to be in good condition and yes, I've tried 3 different usb cables but to no avail. If there were a problem with the pins, I believe that the phone would have problems to sync with the computer and I did not encounter this situation in the past. I assume the usb is ok.
As for the cards, I have only used Transcend ones formatted to Fat32 - never tried to flash using sd before until I got this problem.
Try searching for some details on the "mtty" tool. It might be that you can use that to help - mtty gives you some commands you can use to the bootloader.
Already tried the commands from "The DEFINITIVE MTTY Thread!!" before and phone is still stucked. Anyone can help please??
Please help me too!!

sounds to me that it could be the battery is out of power. Maybe try to leave the battery in with the power cable for a short period of time and see if you can turn it on and flash the rom.

Thats definitely a issue with the battery, Not enough power is getting to your battery maybe after a bad flash or something you did wrong.
I seen a similar issue when my battery was dead and I tried charging it via usb the device would turn on then loop n turn itself off . 5, 10 mins later it did the same thing. . .
Is my battery dead yet?
If i buy a new one,Does it work? Or How to fix this problem?

Do you know anyone with the same phone as you that could charge your battery ? Otherwise you might need to buy another battery. I would have *thought* that a new battery would be charged, but this is only a guess, and it might depend where you buy it from. I don't suppose you have a lot of options though.

By the first boot screen you mean the HTC screen? Then you did something wrong. Then it's normal that the phone would reboot or turn itself off.
Are you sure you try entering the bootloader the right way? Keep volume down + power on button pressed until you see the bootloader. I mean really keep them pressed until the bootloader shows up.
I can't enter to bootloader and I can't turn on my phone without charger.
**CAN'T USE USB CHARGER TO ENTER BOOTLOADER TOO

But i have a similar problem to the stated one. After flashing the new leaked 4.3 Rom from DoomLord my phone ran just fine for nearly a week. Yesterday i inserted a new sd card and wanted to format it in recovery. But then after formating sdcard1 my phone totally freezed. However i rebooted it from recovery. No led when i plug in. I tried every combination of buttons presses (also volume up + power button which does normaly the trick). I even opened the phone and unplugged battery for 2-3 min, still nothing. Do you guys have any idea what i else can do, or is my phone simply broken?

charage the phone for 24 hrs or overnight and try flashing the stock rom via flashtool. if it did not work with vol down button+power try this method 2
try to do a hard reset; (while NOT connected via usb or something) hold power+vol up, it will vibrate 1 time, and then 3 times quick. After that try to connect the usb (NOT while pressing any buttons) and press vol down+power
That should connect it into flashmode.

Ok, I disassembled the phone again. I removed battery and measured voltage seems to be fine. Besides battery life was OK when it worked (OK compared to my SXplay ). Additionally i tried the battery trick from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449242. However the bahavior on charger is still the same 5min red LED 5min no LED at all. Excluding it is a driver problem I ran flashtool on my linux machine and tested both the windows and linux flash tool with my xperia Play which is correctly detected in flash mode.
Thanks guys for your hints upon now but I would be happy to get additonal ones. I'm not afraid of disassembling and getting my hands dirty.
I hope I will get this great phone running again since I've really started to love it :-/.
Same situation with CM 10.2
Hi there I'm in the same situation with my xperia V.
Bootlocker unlock and flashed 10.2.0 (latest stable rel) and gapp. No issue everything was working but huge battery drain due to Media Scanner, so I've reboot in recovery wipe the cache and format the external sd then reboot all from the recovery menu.....then the phone is dead.
now in change since more that 30 hours and get red light for some minutes that nothing at all....nothing pushing power, nothing pushing volume nothing at all.....if i connect without battery to the power red light blinks.
how is that possible???? at least recovery node should work...is that an HW problem? but how can i have created an HW problem with a wipe a format and a reboot????
Please help...
Thanks in advance.

How much voltage is the battery? For that battery trick, are you sure, you did it correctly? Could you post some pictures? If you're sure, it's the battery, buy another one.

Ok i attached a picture. The measured voltage is 3.07 V between kathode and anode marked in red (of course I measured it when the battery was disconnected. Moreover you see the soldered connection to the back of the battery marked in green. I've already tried what I red in another post in this forum, where the guys there suggest to unplugg the battery and try to connect the phone in flash mode. This results in a blinking red LED :-/. No idea what else I can do

Charge the battery somewhere or buy new battery. 3.07V is not enough.
Battery Voltage
peetr_ is right, using GPS Essentials to measure my battery voltage at 12% charge (not the most accurate way I know) it's measuring at 3.611V

please provide me some guidance.

Yes, it's worth to try it. Just try to borrow it from someone, let it boot and try to use your battery again.
no way even changing the battery

No way even with a new battery
Really? Neither flash mode?
xperia t now alive
hello guys I have a solution to this problem.and I guess you guys are lucky cause I experienced this problem also.you don't need to panic cause this will help.all you need to do is to get a new battery either online or in your domestic regions.if you wish to get it online go to aliexpress.com And it will be shipped to you no matter where you are on this earth.the reason is because the xperia t has been drained to the core and so it can't come on in other to flash in a kernel or image. When you've bought the battery you can actually fix it by yourself cause I'll Show you how.when you've fixed it then you flash in 4.3jb stock room in it and then your phone comes back alive like mine.IV actually used the phone for a month before that problem occurred but now say no more to that cause this thread will work 100%

[Q] HTC One Charges but Won't Turn On

Hello guys,
A while ago, I was just doing stuff I normally do with my phone. I flashed a ROM and it rebooted normally. I then flashed a MOD using TWRP recovery. As usual, every MOD that uses Aroma Installer has a "Reboot device after install" option so I chose that and then **** happened.
Out of nowhere my One suddenly shuts off (The install was done so...)
I have tried the sensor under bright light trick and my phone does vibrate once but nothing actually happens. Just a black screen and stuff.
Sometimes it does go into this screen where it shows a battery icon with thunder bolt in the middle (Yes I know that is the charging screen. But, I also believe that it acts like a progress bar and it does not do THAT.)
Then again, it dies and it doesn't have the charging LED nor would it turn on.
Help is appreciated. I know basic and complicated android stuff but I can't do any of that if my phone is dead
Edit: When I press the power button for a few seconds, it vibrates but nothing happens. The screen is still off and the charging LED is not turning on as well.
Edit: Okay, when I do get it to charge, it shows that charging screen and when I unplug it, it freezes with the charge light on. The phone is also heating up so that does mean it's charging
Regards,
TAM

No. But I was able to drain the battery and once I plug it in using the original HTC wall charger (which is the one that I always use to charge it.) it charged but the charging LED is blinking (mut have drained it self good overnight) am I making progress or did I make it worse?

It's difficult to say at this point, Personally I would just leave it charge over night. Then try and power it on with Volume Down+Power while still connected to the charger. And it definatly doesn't show up in device manager, not even as Unknown Device or QHUSB_DLOAD? I find that a little odd.
But there are signs of life so I think a good charge may do the trick.

Yes. I did plug it into my laptop's usb ports last night when it still had charge (usb 3.0 if that helps) but it was neither recognized nor visible in the device manager. I hope! I am now charging my phone as we speak. I hope it's not dead too
Okay so...I installed HTC Sync and still nothing. It was not recognized and it's still not booting
Try Windows 7 USB 2.0
just htc Drivers
Try to go to Boot loader and flash firmware
if it show battery with charging sign it means Soft Brick or battery problem
if it showed nothing like no charging light or nothing on screen then its Hard Brick

Then it is probably a soft brick or a battery problem. Because when I got home I immidiately pluged it into the wall charger for it to charge and it charged showing the charging screen with a blinking LED. One more thing, if I press the power button for a few seconds it vibrates and then nothing happens. I am planning to leave it charging over night. Is that a good idea?

can I ask what your flashed before it did this ?
also crazy question, but have you tried holding down the power button till the lights on the bottom flash approx. 12-15 times ? this resets the device, Ive had to do this after many flashes of various things.

I was flashing a MOD then after the installation finished, it asked if I wanted to "reboot now" so I tapped yes then the phone died and it won't start anymore. Yeah but how long should I hold the button? Just to clarify, my phone only vibrates if I hold the power button for a long time. It just keeps vibrating and vibrating

until the lights stop flashing, usually about 12 or 15 times cant quite remember exactly how many times they flash but its quite a few.
I know you said you tried the bright light trick, but you should also try this trick whilst holding down the power button.

Umm...but the buttons don't light up when I press the power button for a long time.
It does this but when I unplug it, it freezes like that with the LED on.
Edit: When I plug it in the computer it doesn't show up (I think that's good because it's a sign telling me that maybe the phone just needs a long ass charge). Now I will be leaving my phone to charge over night and hope that it will boot up in the morning. The phone becomes hot too while it's charging.
Note: I also do not have access to RECOVERY, BOOTLOADER and FASTBOOT.

if your phone is in warranty you should go to service centre
This situation is quite confusing
as not accessing bootloader is not good sign

Oh no...well I will try to search for my old laptop that has USB 2.0 ports and see of that recognizes my phone. I also do not have warranty anymore though so that is not going to help me

Okay so I plugged my phone into a laptop with USB 2.0 ports and it showed up in device manager as an "Unknown device". Not sure if it was caused by the phone showing the battery charging screen but anyway that happened. Is that a sign of life? What should I do about it?

Well as you have tried everything else, and now seeing some signs of life, you could give this a try, no harm in trying, it will either work or it wont.
