hope you recognize the music, It's the songs that were used in doom, which were made into midi versions in the game.

Excellent! Didn't know that existed, I've downloaded and been playing it myself for the last hour. Controls take a bit of getting used to, but otherwise its ace!
For those searching for this game, search for gfdoom to get the program then doom1.wad for the maps.

First off, I'd like to thank danits for showing me how to configure doom with the keyboard.
ok so to make it landscape you must go into options and toggle the quality from low and high. this wont really change the quality, it rotates the screen.
as far as configuring keys, check out the other doom thread I made in the Development and Hacking section:

there is a program you can use, that when you press a key, it gives you a code. this code is required for assigning keys in doom. see my examples in the other thread.
and here's my skin file, with keyboard support.
the controls are the same as all my other config's if you've used them.
and keep in mine ive made the windows key the button to flip the screen.

anyway thanks for your config files! makes it a little easier to play! Used to have this on my old old nokia and now thanks to the Kaisers 9 way d-pad (so you can move diagonally eg forward AND turn) makes it so much playable

and not to mention use N and M to strafe makes it even easier.
well when i first joined i didnt plan on most much either...but...look at my post count now lol.

its really a shame the author never finished his last update. he came soo close, it was literally just a a couple days away, then he disappeared.
his updated WAS going to contain a much easier way to configure keys
proper keyboard support

improved peformance i think
he was also working on a zdoom port.
its too slow, but that would have been worked on too if he didnt disappear.

Where is the WAD
ANy one found where you can get a functional WAD file.
THe link to Jimmy software is either dead or just a front screen.

Ok after playing with it last night, it works, BUT
it does not work with gfDOOM Launcher.exe.
it gives me an "Doom Error"
You cannot -file with the shareware version.

If I start from gfDOOM.exe it works but I can not get it to landscape mode
no matter what I do.

I dont know why is everyone makes this hard to get this game with all necessary files.

Help with a Tilt and Java

Hello i am thinking about buying a tilt and I was wondering if somebody here can test something for me PLEASE..
if you would help me out got http://games.asobrain.com/ and register it is free . then goto play xplorers non ranking game and see if it will load the java window so you can play it on the phone it is a online game i would like to play

The frame setup sucks in PIE (displays the borders). Seems to work fine in Netfront however. Got all the way to a game, but didn't attempt to play. However, a game is not why I'd buy or not buy a Tilt. FWIW.

I'm using the free latest beta version (3.5). Remember - tons of browser work going on right now. Even if you had issues, someone would probablyfix it pretty quickly with one of the new browsers coming out (Skyfire, Opera 9.5, etc.).
I think I got to the game screen. Registered and got all the way in and everything looked good. Just jumped in to one of the top games (where it looks like a forum) - didn't even look at the game's name.

ok just 1 more ? so you when you clicked on play and enterd you name and pass a new window open up and you can see the names of the games they offer like xplorers,toulouse and so on
on the xplorers ones did you click on non ranking 1 and if you did a new window will open up and say loading and checking game version and java and connecting to server if it works you will be taken to a lobby where there are a bunch of names of poeple on right and there are some buttons around the screen 1 says create new game click that too set up game with bots and start a game
I know this seems like a lot but it is real easy once you get there ...
the screen where it says applet starting is the importand 1 i think if you get too the lobby where the names are on the right it should work
let me know i can call you if you want to walk you through it

Save some Christmas $$$ Barcode Scanning [App]

Initially accidently posted this in the Diamond forum...
Happy Holidays.
After reading a post here or in another forum I stumbled across a program called BARCORAMA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368798
Its a program that lets you scan UPC barcodes with your camera and then goes out to the internet to let you find the lowest price online for that item...already saved me quite a bit...and made shopping feel sortof fun for once...fealt like a spy..LOL
Works Awesome on my touch Pro...strangely seems to work better when I zoom to 2x and take the picture than when im in close

I got the app working great on a touch pro.
Except I changed the default to pop open skyfire for the browser, and also piped it into Google shopping search engine, rather than just google. B/c in shopping it already shows the prices and places to buy.
Neat app! Thanks. Minor suggestion, offer the ability to put a path for the images and / or a way to name it when you shoot the UPC.

open the app, go into settings and hit the right arrow until you see the google address. then replace the word "search" with "products"
EDIT: works well. i zapped every item on my desk at work and it found them all.

LOL...no, sorry for the misunder standing. I was trying to add credability to the other guys post of pointing it to google shop instead of just google. I wanted to just put +1 as in I am also wanting this, but you have to have 10 characters to make a post.

mine is not working everything i scan says no barcode i have the pro and question what is it suppose 2 say for program 2 run

yeah I found Standing further away from the barcode and doing a 2.0 Zoom really helped...I make the barcode fill the screen and make sure its sharply focused before taking the picture...
...In terms of how to install...i created a folder called Shopping in my Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder and dropped the EXE file in there...You will then see the folder in your Windows/Programs area....i put it in its own folder because it saves each barcode where the program is installed and i didnt want them in my programs menu.

Yeahh....I found a new way to kill time and kill my battery...lol
I've run out of things to scan around the house.
I now know the best prices of everything in my work place...lol
I even depressed a few when I showed them better prices......
Walmart thinks I'm a spy...lol....had to turn of the sounds while taking pictures of barcodes....Security was confused too.....
This really is an achievement! Thanks to the creator of Barcorama.....

To change to shopping in google
The above poster is right, just change search, in the http string to product and that's it. Then it shows you a listing of prices and locations, pretty slick.
As for the person not getting it to work, it won't work if you're megapixels is set to 3MP, I dropped mine down to 1MP and that did it for me.

I even scanned a can of Progresso soup and it found it. Crazy.

Keep your phone upright when you take the picture. I found if I turned the phone sideways and took the picture, it would not find the barcode. Keep the phone straight up and down when you take the pic.

I changed my camera to take a picture on Touch instead of Touch and Press. Right after it autofocuses, it'll take the picture. Getting much better results this way since when I would use Touch and Press, when I would press to take the picture, my hand would move.

Searching for applications

Hello. I have been searching the internet, without any luck though of finding the programs i want.
First, i want a program, like ShopSavvy is for the Android, where i can use it on my touch pro to scan barcodes of products and find the best price.
Second, i am wondering if there is a way to have Google Street View on the touch pro. I have already seen KDKobes Google Maps Street View 2.3.1, from our forum. I was wondering though if there is an "official" or "fully working" program, as in KDJobes program unfortunately, location-data support and GPS integration aren’t working with this version of Google Maps.
Third, i want a program, like I-phone has, for Drinks (bartender?), same cool skins and graphics environment maybe?
Fourth, again like I-phone has a program where you record a song on the phone and then it goes through the internet and finds you possible matches.
Please, bare with me, as i a m new and maybe i didn't have enough luck or "easiness" finding these type of programs i want. Yes maybe i saw some "looking like them but weren't afterwards the programs i wanted, cause their functionality wasn't after all what i was searching for and was mislead by their Title Name.
So if you please know any "freeware/ or have to buy" programs that are exaclty as the one's i have described please feel free to post and tell me.

theres an app called track my run floating somewhere between here and fuzemobility.com

Just giving you a heads up don't go looking for everything that the Iphone has for your phone. Most of the time it will not be there. on to you questions
Shop savvy is a great program. Our closest thing is "Barcoroma"
Google street view. I use google maps from NRG'z Rom and I can get street view on it.
Drinks IDK your on you own for this one
Song recognition. Well try out Music ID works great for me.

I go to http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php, although its not complete list and new releaase of an application can take a couple of days to make it to thier site. I find the site easy to navigate and search. The catagories and rating system help for filtering.

Hi all.
I've decided to upload the first public release of "Flix". It's a movie listings app i've written, inspired by Cinemo, but for a UK audience. Be gentle with the comments, as it's my first foray into the Compact Framework!
First off, the features:
- Yahoo based
- Search based on Postcode or town
- GPS "Where am I" lookup
- Google Maps link from Cinema Info screen
- Call cinema direct from the app.
- Movies list cast info, Synopsis, runtime, and (optionally) a poster if Yahoo has one.
There is a little more detail on my blog (along with instructions) as I've just added it on there too.
I'm contemplating changing from Yahoo as their postcode lookups seeem to be getting more vague by the day. My own (PE8) has yielded nothing for the past couple of days even though it did previously - so if you find nothing matches up, check the Yahoo page to see what it does at that end.
You'll need to have CF3.5 installed for Flix to work.
Anyway, I'm happy to hear of any comments you have - if you have problems then let me know and I will try and help of course, and suggestions are always welcome too. As ever, if you find it useful then please consider donating!

Flix has just been updated! Changes:
-Now supports France and Germany
-Google Maps loading should work if it's installed in non-std locations
-Where Am I function now uses online Geocoding to work in the new countries
-Some improvements to parsing behind the scenes
I do still plan to update it to work in North America, however the Yahoo page is quite different so it's more work. Lots of Euro countries use the same layout as the UK so it's pretty quick to adapt. Expect Spain and Italy next...

same and im in N13, yet it still finds the nearest one (cineworld enfield)...
an idea: For future releases would it be possilble to have multiple cinemas saved, for example, it will find one near me, but not another near me, thus i have to go through the update process and lose the first cinemas results.
other than that, great app man, really useful

I think it is a problem on yahoos end, try going to their website and entering your postcode there and see what it returns, I seem to get better results if I configure flix using the name of my city rather than my postcode.

great app but unfortunately I'm in the usa, cinemo is alright but it feels like a first step and daniel gary is great for filling the gap in the app market with a needed app like this, but his is limited so far.
would it be very hard for you to tweek this a little to make it work in the states here. I really like your interface and features.

Hi all - sorry i've not been back to check on this thread, I'm stupid busy at work and my home-time is currently spent sorting a website for a mate who was made redundant
Anyway - I still have plans for Flix ,including support for other countries. I didn't do the US out of the box because Cinemo existed, but if it's not too hard to add I will do, as it gives folk the choice.

Problem with listing by cinema
First of all: great and very useful app.
One problem though: when I click on 'cinemas' and then 'Odeon Wimbledon' and then the clock icon for listings the software just crashes. Any idea why?

Hi, I entered "SW19 2DX" as post code and it happened, but also when entering just "Wimbledon". I'm using this app on a HTC Touch HD by the way...
I also tried updating all data because I thought it might have been a problem with the data download - but unfortunately the crash still happens...

OK, i've just tested that here and it works fine.
I think it's not a data problem but something else.
What resolution is the HD offhand? There is a little bit of code that makes the button "bounce" bigger and smaller when tapped for UI feedback and I wonder if that does something odd on a different resolution... do you get any details of the actual error? (it may have a button at the bottom for more info; although you might need to install an extra .NET cab to give full details)
Have you tried going the other way as well? i.e. look up a movie and click the clock; does the same happen?

Thanks so much for looking into this for me. The Touch HD has a native resolution of 480x800 pixels. When I go to a movie and then click on the clock it shows the times at Odeon Wimbledon just fine.
And very interestingly it now WORKS via the cinema route as well - how odd is that? Maybe because 'Wimbledon' only uses 1 cinema, whereas the post code found quite a few?
I'm just trying the post code again just to be sure...downloading data as we speak...

That is odd; I used the postcode as you mentioned and I get several cinemas:
Cineworld Wandsworth
Odeon Streatham
Empire Sutton
Odeon Wimbledon
However they all list showtimes without problem...
If it still happens, see if you can get any details on the error, otherwise i'm a bit stumped!

All good now, data download finally finished (b****y GPRS here at work) and no crashes anymore...
Maybe me restarting the device in the morning helped.
