The idea of this roms is to provide a very small and leightweight rom with maximum stability and performance. The device has great hardware, but the built-in software doesn't use this hardware properly, so its up to you to install the right software from other software houses.
The rom is not protected, you are invited to take it as a base for your own roms/experiments. Modifying it using the kitchen is quite easy.

I decided to stay at version 2.0. Although the 3.5 version is running fine (in most cases), there might be software not running as it is still a beta and therefore not built for roms granting maximum stability.
Installing the framework isn't a problem at all, you can also use netcfcfg in order to switch between those versions (in general and for a single application only).

Idea
There are quite a lot of cooked romz out in the field. All of them have their pros and cons
and the chefs do a very good job but none of them actually pleased me.
So i decided to build my own rom. Since i am actually pretty new to this stuff it took me
a few days to get my kitchen set and understand the mechanics of how SYS, XIP and all the OEM
stuff works.
I realised that there are very few updated Blackstone Kitchens out and most of them
concentrate on Topaz and Rhodium based OEMs.
As a beginner in cooking i didn't want to hassle with Topaz/Rhodium related problems.
That's the reason i decided to stay with Blackstone OEM and just upgrade SYS and XIP
since the changes are pretty small.
Although i removed a lot useless packages and added many registry changes to improve the overall
performance, i actually deleted nothing. I just moved them to a seperate folder. So if you think that
you are in dire need of the Welcome Center or Windows Live, then just move the folders back in and recook.
To make a long story short, this kitchen is aimed at people like me who are new to cooking and
look for an easy way in. Therefor everything is set up to be as compatible as possible.
Requirements
- i recommend using USPL to flash your cooked rom
- please use 1.54SPL, otherwise -> Greenscreen )
- you might flash 1.13 radio since this was originally bundled with the latest Blackstone shipped

well actually, i can't answer that questions in a few lines. so i decided to build a swedish kitchen. i didn't have time to do intense testing, but i flashed it on my device and clicked around a bit for while.

Just replace disptools.dll from older 1.19 and you can flash HSPL

WM 6.51 CE|OS build 5.2.23028 | 23028.5.3.0​
These new builds (WM6.51) have major improvements and very, very big changes, sort of "love it or hate it" IMHO
Some new features I've found so far on 23028:
- Closing an app or menu turns you back to previous menu screen, not directly to "today" (finally !!)
- "Battery bug" finally solved: Task Manager's slot has been omitted an replaced with ample battery + clock space in the task bar
- Tap the task bar and a new transparent menu emerges, enlarging taskbar options (cool)
- Tap & hold a Start menu item to drag and drop it around (great !!)
- Lower menu bar has been stretched to fit thumb-wise buttons
- "OK" / "X" (close ) button has been moved to the left of the lower menu bar
- New, big finger friendly interface for volume
- New, big finger friendly and lateral scrollable interface for most programs and control panel apps
- And so on...
SO MANY CHANGES MEAN MORE INCOMPATIBILITY WITH THE "OLD" XPERIA INTERFACE AND APPS - NOT SURE IF A "PURE" ROM IS STILL POSSIBLE WITH THIS MUCH UI CHANGES
I have prepared this BAREBONE VERSION to test WM 6.51 capabilities, incompatibilities and possible bugs

Brief description:
Very pure WM6.51 SYS conten, minimal XPERIA OEM content but no panels

From SYS, omitted sample music and user feedback only (kept the WM system files as pure as possible)
Kept the XPERIA auto connection setup (more universal than current WM one)
This build had a timebomb, removed by inserting a patched shell.exe folder

Well, I've been trying every single new WM6.5 release since build 21500 and the beatles (bugs) and some gremlins are still there... but
build 21750 reportedly has less beatles, so I decided to publish this BETA ROM for all your flashoholics' testing pleasure
Up for beta testing, NOT FOR FINAL USERS
Please focus a priori on the known beatles and report if they are fixed or not, then, we can start polishing some other stuff
I am doing it too, just wanted to accelerate the job - and thus the release
If this is worth cooking further, this ROM could be the base for the future SEX1 R3 (release 3)
Being a beta, it has WM6.5 build 21750 SYS/XIP and .23 Barebone OEM only,
this way we will have less confussion with third party apps and will get a well-known interface (XPERIA UI)

in that windows6.1 roms - touchit9 and touchx performs almost
twice as windows6.5roms - this new rom and valkrie1.4
i get a scoreof about 1400 in 6.1 roms
while only 750 in 6.5 roms
any ideas or is it a 2dmark problem?

Agent_47 uses the same speed tricks seen on Touch ROMs, I'd really like to see those figures and check if these measures are really helping or not, how they influence the ROM speed and behaviour

Seems the x2 has a second ROM-memory because "Clear Storage" has the option for deleting emails, added software, ringtones, games browser favorits and so on.
Haven't seen it on other wm6.5 devices.
Note: I've copied the RAW image to my memorycard and started that programm.

No, and some more information, you not even can cook with it since it doesn't work(I tried to cook with the oemdrivers etc and the kitchen just crashed).

Gtrab, think the rom dump is corrupt again. Did you have any luck with the files?

actually I'm not so much interested in the raw rom dump - I have a decent rom now.
But the panels (and maybe panelmanager) would be interesting to me.
isn't it possible to just (replace the old files with the new ones and) copy all needed panel files plus reg entries (even make a cab out of those)?
Also the openvg/dd drivers would be nice to have.

XIP Porting kitchen for HIMALAYA

Here's my xip porting kitchen for Himalaya,
It's based on Lennysh XIPKitchen see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443383 Thanks Lennysh your brill
What doe's my kitchen do?
1) It extracts xip.bin from your kitchen's nk.nba and sets up lennish XIPKitchen Magic
2) Back's up your nk.nba to tools folder
3) Makes it easy to build and insert the New_xip.bin into the nk.nba
To use download and extract, place "XIP_Porting_Kitchen" in kitchen and RUN "Port_XIP.bat" read the DOS window for instructions,
It's as Automatic as i can get it, you just need to add the info provided into xipport and the new xip.bin will be inserted correctly,
I have based this to work with my Himalaya kitchen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555390
and provided 1, donor xip_23007 just for you to play with and learn,
To test both Kitchen's download them and port xip to 23007 and build the rom,
you should get a hybrid rom, OS 23007 (build 23004)
it will work in any kitchen that has OEM, ROM, & SYS, folder's
It will also work for sundream kitchen but you have to do some copy n pasting manualy, instructions in download,

Hi mate, i was able to port xip 23088 & xip 28002 to ur kitchen with copied sys 23420 from aeroflyluby. I tried to port sys of 28002 following sys porting guide but an error occured in building images portion specially on wmcore.dll flashed in the screen. What does this mean? Where should i correct the error? Thanks. . .
Note : I dont have the himalaya device anymore to test i just wanted to give back to the community for all the help and rom updates i enjoyed . . .

1) It sounds like your crashing build imgfs ( you probly have too many files in your new SYS )
unpack my kitchen again somewere on your PC and compair each folder in SYS i know it's borring ,you will find there are many things removed in short if it's not in my SYS you prob don't need it
make some folders with same name as the ones you remove things from then if you need to put anything back you know were
In the later builds you will find more graphic files some needed some not !!

TIP: drag a couple of folders out of SYS and run kitchen again till it builds without crashing then add back bit by bit look for free sectors at end of DOS window read the screen at all times
Something else is "files n module's" if it's a file in my SYS then you need to recmod any module's to files, or the ROM will not boot to many module's will use up all the free RAM and cause unstable errors
And if you don't have a device to test the rom yourself, I wouldent recommend posting any ROM's .

Thanks mate, i'll try to port 28002 sys again and if no error will occur during building rom process i'll reserve it if and when i'll be able to have a himalaya device again. Coz ur right i may brick someone else device

unpack my kitchen again somewere on your PC and compair each folder in SYS i know it's borring ,you will find there are many things removed in short if it's not in my SYS you prob don't need it and it prob won't fit, clue: about 25 items removed from "SYS\Shell"
also *.cpr files if it don't have 240x320 or 320x240 remove it "wink""wink"
EVERY BODY PLEASE READ THISI do recommend anybody trying to build a new port should first build my ROM as I shipped in my kitchen to confirm that it works then port xip as I shipped with xip_kitchen and build rom and check, then you know for sure if it works

yea, i removed all of those after i posted the sysversion quote
i finally got the BuildOS to complete, flashed the ROM, didnt boot up - first try
will try more on it

good getting closer then as in post 4 files/modules if it's a files in my sys and a module in new sys, you do have to recmod it to a file or there WILL be memory overload and that will cause ROM's to not boot There's no short cut's porting for hima and BA it's a manual job and takes some hrs Good luck

i've heared that 28002 source isent good, so it worth trying? i havent been playing in the Windows mobile field lately as i have an android device too..but im back now!

1.What can be removed from the OEM (for example, your kitchen) ---- or it not necessary to increase the memory?
2.How to change in WM6.5 the size of PP from 32 to 16 mb?
I have some questions:
1. I made a ROM, but after flashing the device is not loaded.
and
2. I made a ROM, everything works, but the device wakes up for a long time, and with the installation of any program - hangs(frozen).
Where could I be wrong?

hi there
the only stuff that could be removed is
6_5_Start_Menu_Icons
PACKAGE_HTC_LargeTitleBar
PACKAGE_HTC_TaskManager
and that won't gain you much, without TaskManager you'll have to manage memory yourself
RE: page pool see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1033162
the rest are the hardware drivers if you remove any of them things won't work
Please remember this is an old device and has only a 32MB flash size, and the bare bonnes 6.5 OS is 58MB without OEM's, If memory 32MB Ramdisk+around 54MB memory, isen't enought for you then, you need to use 6.1 ROM this is as good as it is and will get smaller with later builds that are getting bigger,
