Won't sync with Outlook - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

My Tytn2 has worked fine for over a year. Recently outlook.pst file got too large so I created a new mail profile and have been using that (outlook2.pst). I noticed it was not synchronising so renamed my outlook2.pst to outlook.pst restarted outlook and all is working fine, but attempting to synchronise is causing following errors now (using Sync Center on Vista Business):
Mobile Device Center: “Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleting and then re-creating the device's sync relationships.”
HTC Tytn 2: “A problem has occurred with repllog.exe”
I can t seem to get past these errors whatever I do (I have deleted and re-created the partnership numerous times). HELP!

To bad you cant sync mate! However there are no need for another "cant sync whit" tread. Use another that already are discussing this issue! This forum is getting harder and harder to read when people make new treads on the same issue every day. Another thing, you do not mention what rom you are on, this issue may have everything to do whit just that. This might be a loongshot as I dont have much detail on your problem but try to delete partnership whit phone and run this cab I made once I had replog issue on one of my rom`s: Raiisak`s Repair Activesync (just a simple cab that use FixASRunAt.exe).

I did have a really good search round Google and this forum as I know people round here are a bit touchy from last time I posted.
I did not find anything similar or any answers.
I do not use ActiveSync -- I am on Vista using Mobile Device Centre.
ROM is the standard one it came with. CE OS 5.2.19212 (Build 19212.1.0.3)
I have not changed any settings on the phone -- just Outlook.pst as described -- I'm sure this is the cause but not sure how to fix it.
Also, I cannot copy CAB files or PHM regedit to the phone because I cannot connect to it at all!!

install cabs via activesync free software

Dont know if it is has been posted already but found this on a different forum
I'm pleased to announce that I have today released the full nag-free version of CABviaActiveSync free of charge, previously only available to MoDaCo Plus members.
The application has been updated to version 1.4, and now adds full Vista WMDC support (as well as XP ActiveSync support of course), including running smoothly with UAC enabled.
From my original posting:
QUOTE(Paul (MVP))
How can a small application change your mobile life? Here's how
Last week, nedge2k and I were lamenting how much of a nuisance it was to install CABs on the phone. Sure, it's not complex, but there are a bunch of applications out there to try and choose from that do it (one by myself from a long time ago included!), once you've installed a CAB you need to keep a copy of it for future installs, it doesn't integrate with ActiveSync and - well - in general, it's a bit painful.
With this in mind, I mentioned to nedge2k that writing an application to integrate CABs with the ActiveSync installer wouldn't theoretically be very hard. This morning, I actually got the inspiration to do something about it... so it's my pleasure to introduce CABviaActiveSync 1.3.
So how does it work?
- CvAS installs on your desktop PC, and adds a right-click context menu for CAB files
- When you click the menu, the CAB is automatically parsed, copied to your ActiveSync directory, and a regular ActiveSync install is initiated
- When the install is complete, the CAB file stays in the ActiveSync directory, meaning you can un/reinstall in future, without having to archive the CAB away somewhere.
For me, it's a serious time saver.
The application can be downloaded
Enjoy, and feedback is appreciated!
This is going to be great for all us habitual re-flashers / ROM testers out there. With so many of these wonderful tweak cabs and small freeware cabs floating its going to be a breeze to get my Wizard how I want it with a couple checkbox clicks.
Now I have to look into creating my own cabs for registry tweaks and configuring settings then things will be perfect in my XDA world.
Thanks a lot =)

i had to install microsoft net framework for my laptop to use
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...0b-f857-4a14-83f5-25634c3bf043&DisplayLang=en
I have downloaded your CAbActiveSync program. However, I do not fully understand what or how to use it. I was hoping that it would help me to solve my ActiveSync problem.
1. I have been playing around with trying to sync my Wizard T-Mobile MDA for weeks and consistly get an error 'ActiveSync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. To troubleshoot the problem, click OK.'
When I click on OK, I run Troubleshooter for ActiveSync. After running Troubleshooter for ActiveSync I receive:
'Unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device. Get up-to-date solutions to common connection problems. Please click the following link:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=65257
--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
No additional known issues have been found.
If you are still experiencing problems please send the results to Microsoft to help improve future versions.'
I have followed the link, sent the results to Microsoft (never received any reply) and tried everything to resolve this issue. I have tried to ActiveSync on my Desktop and Laptop and still cannot. I did sync months ago without any problems. I have exited my Firewall (Sygate) and Virus Checker (AVG) before I started to try ActiveSync. I have tried all versions of ActiveSync such as 4.2 and 4.5.0 Build 5096 which I am currently running. I am using the USB Connection
2. I have even tried to delete the partnership and reestablish it since I did get ActiveSync to work way back in Sept 06 many times. Since then I cannot connect my MDA to either my Laptop or Desktop. When I try to delete the partnership while in ActiveSync I try the following:
I Click on File: Delete Mobile Device is not an available option as it is not bold (it is grayed out) and when I click on it, nothing will happen and/or nothing did happen.
On my MDA screen for Comminucation Manager the ActiveSync option is not active. I can click on it and it takes me to ActiveSync on my phone and shows the last date that I accomplished a valid sync.
This is one frustrating operation.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your info. I did:
Close out my firewall and antivirus.
Uninstalled ActiveSync and then reinstalled it after I downloaded the latest version.
Used another USB cable to connect the MDA to the PCs. The PCs do recognize the MDA. However, ActiveSync cannot connect to the MDA.
So, thank you for your help. I am trying anything and everything to get this resolved to no avail. I have posted this on other forums but have not resolved this issue.

I have had this problem a couple of years ago, and I could resolve it as follows:
Open Network connections after you have connected your Device, and you will see a Local Area Connection xx that connects using a Windows Mobile Device. Open the Properties of that Local Area Connection and make sure that it uses all 3 items below:
- Client for Microsoft Networks
- File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
- Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
When I had the connection problems I found that my connection only used 1 or 2. When I made sure that the checkbox for all 3 items were selected, ActiveSync worked again.
I hope this works for you as well.
Thanks for this One....
saved trouble on Vista's eFFin activesync problems...
hail to you ol' chief.
Hi:
Is there a version of this great program that will work on WM7?
Thanks!

Syncing with Mac

Hey guys has anyone found a solution for syncing the Touch Diamond with a Mac??
I am using the latest version of Missing Sync and its not working, it starts to connect, gets to 2 dots then stops and says the connection attempt failed I click Learn More and follow the directions in there, it has instructions on allowing certain programs in the firewall and the missing sync listener is on of them, however I can't find that program either in the firewall or anywhere on my hard drive under a spotlight search, anyone else have this issue?
Anyone else try any other programs??
I have also tried sync mate, it did sync, but there were lots of entries missing and it didn't sync my calender at all.
I have now tried manually instaling the cab file for missing sync to my device but still no luck...
im using missing sync 4.0.3 on 10.5.3.. i dont have any problem syncing with my diamond. however after i sync my contacts on address book, I can't open the "people" tab on the today plug'in anymore so i have to hard reset. but for all other things, missing sync works fine.. when u sync the songs from itunes, u can ever has the album photo.
good luck
sometime buzz the USB cable, please try the one that comes with phone
Im occasionally getting the following error message when instaling, don't suppose anyone has had anything like this before??
I also used appzapper and deleted eveything it found on version 3 I amwondering if I deleted the wrong thing.
"The system extension "System/Library/Extensions/MissinSyncWM.kext" was installed improperlyand cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update."
I checked the missing sync forums, and officially, they do not yet support windows 6.1. Here's the link. I guess we just have to wait for a few weeks (or months) before it'll be supported.
For uninstalling the missing sync app, I would suggest heading to their forums and posting your specific problem. Good luck.
Anyway, I'm excited with the htc diamond. I just held one yesterday and it really felt good in your hands. Although the interface is still slow (this may be due to wm itself rather than HTC's design team) but I hope that the advance config app can fix this one. I'll try to play some more this weekend.
u can try SyncMate, it can sync Address book and iCal for the unregistered version. http://mac.eltima.com/sync-mac.html
Problem solved, did a permisson repair then reinstalled and it alll worked. Also I wouldn't recommend syncmate, it garbled my contacts on my phone thankfully not on my mac though....

activesync problem: rapi.dll clashes with pulsar drivers

hope this will not be the improper place, anyway i've got a weird problem and i cannot find a solution.
the situation is this: i am a professional composer and i've been using a creamware pulsar sound card as my main tool for quite a few years.
i am also a htc kaiser user and have been using activesync to, well you know what you use it for.
anyway i've just installed a fresh os (windows xp sp3) because the old one was getting slower and slower, but now i can't use activesync. it turns out, a dll called rapi.dll (in the windows/system32 folder) is its main dll.
unfortunately, the drivers for the pulsar card also use a rapi.dll, situated in pulsar's own folder. and every time i try to start up cubase or soundforge or whatever audio program, it will open the wrong rapi.dll, being the activesync one in the windows/system32 folder.
so i had to uninstall activesync in order to keep on working.
how will i convince these programs they are looking in the wrong place? any suggestions?
thanks a lot, Joop

activesync and other problems - please help!

Hi, all.
I have an XDA Serra (Touch diamond pro) and have been very happy with it, it is my third xda so I kind of have a rough idea what I am doing but not to the extent that most of you guys do. When I first got the phone I syncd it with my outlook to transfer all my contacts etc, set up tom tom and some music, since then I have mostly used the disc drive function but I have installed some additional programs but the opperating system is untouched from the factory. Recently I wanted to recync my phone to back up all the data. I got this message:
Synchronisation can not be completed successfully. Reconnect the device and try again. If the problem persists .....etc.
So I searched through the 4 pages of topics on here and tried all the tricks. 3 different usb cables, checked and unchecked the box for advancd network functionality. Uninstalled and reinstalled activesync on my laptop, tried a different PC. tried syncing over bluetooth (connection successfull but the same message) I also started to loose contacts! some of which turned up in the contacs folder of outlook, some are lost to the ether.
Whilst connected to the computer through activesync I can exchange files and explore the phone as normal.
It also apears now that I cant install any software, tapping a cab file now does nothing. If i go to the remove programs page, there are NO programs displayed, just a white empty box so I cant delete any programs. I have updated the .NET framework and there are logs for versions 2 and 3.5.
If I were able to back up my contacts I would simply hard reset the lot and reinstall everything but as I cant I am a little reluctant.
Can anybody help??
If you need soft or hardware numbers, if you tell me what and where I will dig them out.
Cheers for reading all this and for any help.
Richard.
Longshot as you are using a Stock ROM but do you have PIM Backup installed? You can backup your contacts with this.
Even if you don't, try installing the attached PIM Backup while you are connected via Activesync. It's an exe not a cab so hopefully you can install it. Then use it to backup your data.
Thanks for that, that seemed to run ok so I will try a hard reset tonight.
Richard.
No problem. After the hard reset you will need to install the PIM Backup again to restore your data.
Bingo, all seems to work ok now. Much obliged for the advice.

brutal combo of scenarios

So I've been diligently managing a pretty pristine outlook contact list that im pretty satisfied with. I've been syncing back and forth via bluetooth (usb port went bad about a year ago).
Recently i reformatted and reinstalled windows 7 on my computer. I did not back up my contacts on the computer because they are on the phone and figuring i'd get them on the re-sync (which I've done before). Unfortunately In that short time period I managed to smash my phone touch screen up pretty good, making things more difficult (and a lack of tap and hold). I cannot for the life of me get the two to sync up to each other via active sync. They pair together fine and send files back and forth to each other, but cannot get them to sync to each other. In the past i've just gone on the phone active sync > connect via bluetooth and then it starts doing its thing in windows mobile device center... Whenever I do it now I get the message
"cannot connect using bluetooth to a pc that supports active sync. you may be out of range. it then asks if i would like to create a different partnership with a pc."
I've obviously created a new pair, turned on visibility and discovery on both pc and phone. Each time it gives me that error message about creating a new pair.
A couple of side notes.
-I have some thoughts that it might be a conflict with the new and old bluetooth pairing but i cannot delete the old one due to the lack of touch screen for the tap and hold. (perhaps there is a way to do this on the hard keyboard)
-I could give a crap about the phone, I've already got a new one. I just want to preserve my contacts.
-I've made a pim backup and a sprite backup of pertinent info but its my understanding that both of these only work with my phone and not outlook, not to mention only my specific rom version.
What is the easiest way to proceed to salvage my contacts?
Sorry for the rather long post on a familiar and oft rehashed question but I couldn't find the answering in any other posts and wanted to be pretty clear with my post.
first of all, since you have made a pimbackup of contacts, your data is SAFE no matter what ROM or which windows mobile device you have! the sprite backup, on the other hand, CAN be specific to your ROM/device depending on exactly what you chose to back up.
so you can always restore the pimbackup archive to a good working windows mobile device (borrow a friends?) and sync up that device with your desktop.
with that out of the way...lets see...you've got a bad screen? i would suggest using a "remoting" tool (like mymobiler)...but i think mymobiler requires a working activesync over usb...but you say your usb port is screwed?
if you can use the screen just enough to install "wifi remote access 1.7" and configure it and enable WIFI, then you can remote control your device using the relevant functionality of "wifi remote access 1.7" from the browser on your desktop, assuming you have a WIFI network at home.
with the screen hurdle out of the way, i suppose it would make your ability to configure things on the device a bit more possible. for starters, even though you have used pimbackup, also install microsoft myphone and upload your contacts there as well. while you're at it, you can mess around with activesync on your device some more to try to get it to sync.
BUT! i think the problem might be on your recently refreshed desktop. i hear windows mobile device center should be upgraded because an update is available.
if all else fails, you can use pimbackup to create a "non-binary" archive (the style is configurable during the backup wizard use case). this non-binary archive is actually a zip file containing a csv file (comma separated values). so you can rename the archive to "something.zip", extract the zip on your desktop and use microsoft excel to open the extracted csv file. here, you will get an easy to edit file with your contacts laid out over rows/columns.
