Isn't it able, which is to change Landscape mode as manual. - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know it is changed to Landscape mode automatically by G-sensor.
However, I think 'Landscape' mode does not work whole programme, such as Word Mobile.
Do you know how to change 'Landscape' mode as manual?
I cannot found in 'Screen' setting.

Thanks but I am afraid I explained wrong.
I am happy with 'Auto-Rotation' function.
However, I wonder to see other programme (E.g. Touch Flo3d, Word...) as landscape mode.
I used to use WM5 (Trinity), it is able to change Landscape mode on Screen (Setting). However, I am not sure I cannot find how to rotate screen on Touch Diamond2.

Search for Gsen and other programs in the Diamond or Blackstone forums that let you choose which app is rotated. There's also a post somewhere about some REG edits that lets you configure the G-sensor app in the lastetst Topaz Roms (the one you are currently using) the way you want it.

I'm using G-Config:

Prevent screen from rotating in Opera

Hello everybody,
I have a kind of habbit to check the news and other interesting stuff, just before I go to sleep i.o.w. while laying in bed. Problem is that Opera doesn't allow me to rotate my diamond whit out rotating the screen back in the upright position... This question has been ask before in the Gsen Thread:
"keerttttt
Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007
Would it be possible to make another shortcut or some to enable te g sensor completely? so that means also in opera?"
Because keerttttt's question didn't got answered. I decided to make a thread out of it.. can someone come up with a solution? Thanks alot..
Same for me, some tool would be very helpful... Usually I like this auto-rotate function but sometimes I want to switch display orientation manually...
Is the screen in opera supposed to rotate with the screen? :s mine doesnt do that?
Yes it's supposed to do that. But it's hard to get it to change. You should lay some FORCE behind it But yes, i also wan't to disable the auto changing in opera.
Hmm how do i turn it on? because mine doesnt rotate
Ah nevermind, there is a delay before it rotates, works fine.
Please anyone?
stop htcsensor service using taskmanager

VITO SMS-Chat 1.1 landscape

hi i purchased vito sms chat and have had a problem with the typing in landscape mode, its not there. it doesnt appear in the text box until after it is sent. I had this issue in both wm6 and wm6.1 and have searched it for weeks and havent been able to find a solution, i tried disabling cleartype landscape and many other things but nothing seems to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction or has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance,
Fjc3
I've downloaded and tried the SMS-Chat, I think the problem is not the software but the WM6.1 have issue with displaying typed clear type text in landscape...
Vito's FunContact also does not work when you try to create/edit a contact and entered any text in landscape mode, texts simply would not show up untill you flip your screen back to vertical orientation...
I've sent a message to the tech support at VITO maybe they can give me an answer.
Unless the SMS-Chat have option to disable cleartype in landscape, it is not useable when typing in landscape mode using either QWERT keyboard or onscreen keyboard.

thanks for the reply, lets hope VITO can give us a solution!
I highly doubt Vito can give a solution other than revert back to 6.0 or just turn off cleartype in landscape.
6.1 doesn't allow it in any programs I have used.

i had to do that for my IE as well but that fix doesn't seem to work for SMS-Chat.
actually i just noticed, oddly enough, if you type with keyboard (landscape) and then close keyboard before sending the message your written text appears in text box and if you slide open again the text will stay but new text will again be invisible... i have all cleartype disabled and cannot think of what the problem may be. maybe the application uses cleartype in landscape on its own???
You guys should try L26's Diamond V9 ROM. I have zero problem with cleartype in landscape mode in any application.

I am actually on L26 v9 coincidentally i have updated roms every time he comes out with a new one since v1 and check for v10 every day lol. I have no problems with other apps both in landscape and in portrait but this one is giving me a hard time tho.
This is serious issue, I have it on my tilt too and I havew l26V9 too... this is ridiculous...
I tried to change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings key: offonlandscape with no luck, anyone has any idea?
I have Alex's newest ROM, and have no difficulty using Vito SMS chat. I can see the text as I'm typing it in (in landscape mode, of course), and can see all of the messages I've received or sent. It's in cool colors, too!

I installed AT&T's WM6.0 Stock rom on my Tilt and it indeed works perfectly, so does Fun Contacts by Vito.
You can't simply disable cleartype in the system to solve this problem associated with Vito softwares. Why? Because the software itself forces the use of clear-type fonts regardless of system setting in landscape mode.
I've got a response back from VITO support, NO They can't fix this problem unless it is fixed by microsoft in WM6.1

that makes sense, i guess we will have to hope that the cleartype issue gets figured out in a new 6.1 ROM
Is there an alternative for that program?

PocketCM Keyboard is a freeware alternative. But I guess you've paied for Vito SMS Chat right? I would not be satisfied with their answer.
Vito should add an option to enable\disable in their program. Should not be the hardest thing to do.
Voice your concerns on http://www.technologyatplay.com/main-mobile/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=165
Seems its the VITO forum that their developer visit.
looks like this could be the solution to our problem.... i have asked Leo to include it in his next ROM. lets hope he does!

Fat Fingers?

Is it me that has really fat fingers or is the diamond thats like impossible to write on? I often have to rewrite words.. really annoying.. Im not comparing it to iphone but when i tried the iphone you never missed a letter.. and often with the diamond if i want like ? and have to press and hold it releases itself so yet again i have to delete and try again .
Is there a fix for this to get?
It is possible for me to use my fingers. Keep in mind that the iPhone has a 3.5" screen and the HTC only have 2.8"!
A solution could be the tilt the HTC so the keyboard is on the long side - here the keys are a bit larger. (gsen program to do that)

I have just got the diamond (XDA Ignito) and have to admit the on screen keyboard will take some getting used to after my XDA Exec physical keyboard but could anyone tell me how to use the QWERTY on screen keyboard in landscape mode as that might improve my accuracy somewhat?
if you use the phone keypad, its a hell of a lot more reponsive than the artemis, the cruise or iphone, best touch sensitivity ive come across

Same here, using the SIP utility found on this board to have it set to phone keypad when the stylus is in the device, and full QWERTY when it's out. The Full QWERTY without using the stylus is just too frustrating.
This tool will allow you to rotate the diamond in all applications incl. messages and then the keyboard will follow to landscape mode.
Allows you to rotate the screen between portrait and landscape mode

Follow this thread for more info and the latest version.
I have very small fingers, so I use the regular (small qwerty) keyboard option in portrait, just with my fingers. No need for me for other input options, because I think I tap with a 95% "succes rate".

Text disapears when rotating to landscape

When I'm trying to use PocketIE and I open up the keyboard (faster to type in)...I'm unable to read the text at the URL line or in the search box...but if I close the keyboard...then everything shows back up...
help?!?
same problem
Ihave the same problem. It is not universal, but it does happen in the google search box and a few other places as well. I had the same problem with a jade dialpad in that all that I saw was the white background and not writing. I am running the official 6.1 rom

Do not enable cleartype in landscape mode in any Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM based on the HTC official, they did changes to the video driver and it not longer works.
Just use Kaisertweak to disable cleartype in landscape mode.

I used Advanced Configuration Tool.
You can get it from:
http://julien.schapman.free.fr/touchxperience/advanced-configuration-tool.php
Install it and run it.
On the bottom right select "Menu"...then "More Settings"...then "ClearType"
Make sure that the "Enable ClearType on screen rotation" is turned OFF.
Click the OK at the BOTTOM LEFT of the screen...Followed by DONE.
It will ask you to soft-reset...select YES.
That's it.
Bah.. I just had my UK Vario III back from repair and it came with 6.1 (which oddly enough is still not available as an official update on the T-mob site). I wondered WTF I'd installed that had broken it :-/
No cleartype in landscape is pretty poor. I might need to think about flash another rom after all!

M2D Landscape Workaround??

Can anyone point me to the CAB that corrects the landscape issue for M2D? I found one posted by mbavarian but the link is dead. I'm running -shifu- WWE 6.1 ROM on my ATT Tilt. Nice ROM but when you end a program and return to the Today screen it returns to portrait mode even though the keyboard is slid out.
Thanks!!
I would be interested in this too-I was not aware that there was a "fix," as M2D was never designed to work in landscape unlike newer versions of TF3D that have it built in.
As stated it was never created to run in landscape mode. There are fixes but all the ones I have tried have been pointless. If you want a fully fledged and supported device for landscape mode, then run a stock rom.
There is a fix based on mbv's by shifu it's not a 100% fix as works via mort to create a action screen when keyboard opened, i'm mobile @ mo so cant give direct link but click my ROM in sig and work from back of thread as i linked it for users, to be honest if you like m2d then you get used to the nuance of landscape and work around it...
Ok, thanks guys! Will live with nuance of portrait mode. Love M2D home screen.
I still have the file. I believe this is what you are talking about. Its a bit slow to rotate but it does work.
Yes, that's it! Thanks!!
