Calendar - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I have seen pictures of the integrated calendar, which seems quite nice. Just one question, is it possible to change it, so it also shows the calendar week number? I always depend on calendar-weeks workwise...
Thank you and regards,
JTGBDR

Hi
I don't think so. It's pretty basic to be honest. Month view and you can tap a single day and see the appointments, that's about it. I still had to load up Pocket Informant.

Have you succeeded in opening the PI calendar directly from TF3D, for instance by using ssMaHo ro VJBrisk? I haven't so far.

Simple weather app (not for today screen) - like the iPhone?

Hey everyone,
I'm sick of trying to get the HTC Home weather thing to work. I've tried replacing DLL's, editing XML files, and installing a couple different versions. None seem to work so I'm moving away from this weather app.
I'm looking for a standalone app that will show me local weather along with a 5 or 7 day forecast. It would also be nice if I could store other city's to it as well so I can see the weather at different places.
I don't want a today screen plugin. I just want to be able to open this application, view the weather, and close it.
Anyone have a good program for that? Free or paid I don't care... I'm just looking for the best & most stable.
It isn't just a weather app, however SPB traveller when opened shows the cities you have specified with their weather, high and low temps for 4/5 days depending on the view you select.
It will show you their time and conversions to your local money.
It is likely to be a bit bloated for what you require, however it works exceptionally well and I haven't had any issues with it.

"Weather Watcher" is exactly what you are looking for. It will do multiple cities, current conditions, hourly, extended forecast, weather alerts, and a zoom-able radar of the city you have selected. You can set it to automatically update or update it manually. Best part is that it is free. You can get it here.

Thank you for the program. Seems to work pretty well. I had to make Opera NOT by default browser through... otherwise it wouldn't work. It basically loads IE into the program and you view webpages.
But... very cool. Thanks again

I'll check it out... but just from looking at the program it does seem a tad too bloated for what I'm looking for. But thank you
I liked Weather Watcher too, but it won't open HTML pages since Opera was my default.
I uninstalled Opera and it still wouldn't work. Did you have to change any settings?

With Opera installed I went into settings and made sure to un-check make opera the default browser.
After I did that it worked.
Another vote for Weather Watcher
Let me rephrase it: I couldn't get it to working using Opera Mini
try weather panel. in case you have the SP BMobile hsell, you can insert the program as one of the tabs. I love it. It's the best, and I've tried them all.
I use PocketWeather, very detailed.
ekhhhh...im really getting frustrated, none of these programs work with a proxy connection! does anybody know a weather program that works with a proxy connection? thanks

Well Weather Watcher is in deed free. I'm afraid to say you might have settings problems on your GPRS connection. I have Proxy and it worked perfectly for me. If you care to share our DevInfo, I'll see if I can help.
Hi there,
Where did you get Weatherpanel free, all the version I got asked for registration key and even if I put it in it still asked me for it again, like I never entered it. I'm using Pocket Weather now and its pretty good.(Not free though)
You can try this one. It's free and loaded to the gills w/ info. Including hourly.

Calender Bug - Any Fix?

Hi all, I choose to start calender in 'month view' in calender options, but when i open it, it comes on in month view but immediately changes back to day automatically. Has anyone else come accross this?
yes, my HTC Diamond also has this bug.. anybody has any idea how to solve this bug??
Just a curiosity: does this happen with TouchFlo disabled as well?
I haven't tried disabling touchflo so not sure.
Here it's the same, but with TF3D disabled everything is fine
I have no fix for the calendar bug. I use another agenda program though (Agenda One), which has a much much better look and feel than the standard one and much more functionality.

I do not have the problem??? You mean to just open calendar from start menu and click the bottom left soft key that says day to week then to month then to year and you can view the whole month at once??? I do not see any problem. My black fuzzy icons are buggy as can be tho....

nevermind I see in calendar options....but mine has no problems....starts right up in the month view....hummm
ok folks, i've just tested on my Diamond. If you open Calendar using the 3D Touchflow, u'll open up to the day view (irregardless of your view settings in Calendar).
but if u open Calendar using the Start -> Calendar.... u'll get the month view (assuming u've set "month view" in the options)

Thanks mate.
It is not a bug, it is a feature:
Touchflo 3D is a TODAY replacement. So if you use Touchflo 3D to open calender, it will show you TODAY!!
Makes sense, don't you think?
If you want to take a look into your calender in an other view, you can use one of the many other ways to open it.

LOL ! even features (and good ones) are considered bugs in a diamond. if you don't find a bug...invent it! i can add that my diamond is waking me in the morning BEFORE the coffee is ready. now, that's a bug!

TF3D Calendar shows not all Items

Hello everyone
im now for almost a week a lucky owner of the htc diamond...
It's working like a charm!
But I have to questions:
-> When I have more than one wholeday calendar-entry (for example a busy note, and a birthday) only one entry (in my case the busy note) is displayed, the birthday I only see when I lauch the calendar application... Is that normal? Where can I change that?
-> Second thing: When I click on the calendar, it starts always the ugly agenda view, also if I changed the default view in the calendar options. Where do I have to set the switch?
I didn't find the answers. If they are already available, I ask you to provide me the correct link on saying sorry.
Thank you, Sven
Please view this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399983&page=6
Thank you..
I tried this already.. It also shows only one wholeday-entry when the clock is small...
Do you have an idea to the second question?
thank you,
sven
In the manual it says that it is only designed to show:
1 all day event
up to 2 timed events
When tapped, it will only bring up the Agenda view of the Calendar, this is by design and so far nobody has found a way of showing more calendar events or getting it to open the built-in calendar on any other view other than Agenda view.
Also, nobody as yet has found a way of making it open a different calendar application eg AgendaOne or Pocket Informant etc.
I believe people are trying to do this, but so far nobody has succeeded. I'm sure that if somebody does, it will happen on this forum and we will all know about it!
Hey marisa
thank you for your answer I'm not a friend of manuals, nor I'm a friend of restrictions...
I now have found a way to start the calendar in day-view (in fact I think it wouldn't be a problem to start any calendar with this way)
Is there a request for smt like this? Should I try to create a helper?

If you've managed to do this then I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who would want to be able to do this. Maybe you should start a new thread with that in the title and put there the explanation of how you did it.

Show more dates on the tf3d home screen

Does anyone know how you can make the Touch Diamond show more calendar dates on the tf3d home screen as it only shows one entry from the diary at the moment
Oh joy! Finally someone is asking this question
I'm asking too..
any ideas ?
Perhaps we should ask the mods to create a new sub-forum dedicated to posts asking for tasks and/or more calendar items in TF3D? There's certainly enough traffic to justify it!
Asked the same question .........but I also appreciate all the work being put into making our diamonds run better by others.........so when there is a solution, and please can an expert look at this.. I and all others will be very appreciative.
many thanks
This is an outlook mobile thing, happens on every phone. THere are calendar apps that display more items if you wish, i just don't know if they are diamond ready yet. calendar+ is an example

Yeah i know, but since the the diamond displays already the next meeting in the calendar maybe there is p a place in the reg. to increase it to a few more ?
I use 2nd today and map it to the left softkey of the TF3D home page.
Then on 2nd Today, I use o2 plus plugin that displays all my events neatly.
Now I can switch between them seamlessly
I'm at work now, so I can post screenshots.. will do so later.
Cheers
Hi,
this is wat i did. I installed "Second Today" and I changed my left softkey to "Secondd Today" where I got PocketBreeze. My right softkey gets me too Pocket Informant.
I also changed my phone touch (left bottom) with pouch and hold it gets me too secondtoday. When I close my PocketBreeze I go back to my homescreen .
Lambert
Sorry "second today" "installed", could you explain to a newbie-ish and frustrated calendar user, please?

People TAB supports no more than 15 favourites -> how to remove this limitation?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody noticed that you cannot add more than 15 contacts in the favourites (People TAB in TF3D).
Is there any way to remove this limitation?
Cheers!!

I find the same limit...
Is there any workaround?
Thanks in advance!

people contacts limit
I apologize, but I've searched a lot before posting and still I can't find a solution.
Would anybody be so patient and willing to help me?
Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, I don't think there exists any tweak to do this ATM...
do you really need more than 15 favorites in "favorites" tab ?
you also have the option to add to yr phone lots of favorites without pic but still a fast way to access yr most used/important contacts.
i like the favorites tab but i find all the favorites option a little redundant. my smart dialer takes much faster to the contact i want.
shortly, in my opinion not such an important issue to be asked and asked again, and pushed again.

Very true that- I make an effort to add the favourites every time I flash although it's much quicker to use smart dialing (awesome feature). I guess adding the favourites is mainly for showing off because it is quite impressive.
I turned that whole tab off
