No Video Playback - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has Anyone had problems with video playback? I have tried MPG, MP2, and AVI on my TD2 and they give an x,y floating point error. I have tried the standard WMP that came pre-installed, TCPMP 0.72, TCPMP 0.83, and mplayer. All with the same result.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Using any of the many available Video players... I recommend you read this
CorePlayer or TCPMP. Make sure you get the AAC codec.
tcpmp has done the job good.

H.264 Codec!

Hey ive searched on google, the wiki and this forum but couldnt find the answer im looking for. I am searching for the H.264 codec for tcmp or just for the tilt period. Id greatly appreciate it if someone can help. Thanks in advance!
it doesn't although this codec is used on the sender's side of video streaming when watching videos but the codec will not work if you watch files you transferred to your memory
As far as I know only The Core Player 1.2.4 offers that codec for Youtube videos.
Cheers!

WMV's will not playback properly

Hello,
I've been trying to view some WMV's on my Tilt running WM 6.1 [downloaded from HTC for the Tilt]. I cannot see any video in TCPMP .72 or 81, WMP, Pocket Player...they all have the same issue - audio works, no video. Given that no video works in any player, I'm sure it's an issue with the phone missing a codec or something.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I promise that I searched around however I didn't find any threads with an answer.
They should play in tcpmp, do you know someone else with an htc/windows mobile phone that can try to play your vids?
I do, however getting a vid to them could be problematic.
EDIT: Doesn't work on the other Tilt, using Kinoma FreePlayer. Unknown codec.
Is there a codec pack for WM6.1, similar to the k-lite codec pack for XP?
I checked the file properties in WMP and it shows the video codec as Windows Media Video 9 Screen. Shouldn't WMP with WM6.1 be version 10 and include this older codec?
AFAIK is the "Screen" codec is a particular variation of WMV9 for special uses and is not supported on PocketPCs (actually not even on Macs either , only Windows).

I've personally never encountered a video using this codec, most people use the generic WMV9 for everything as it has a lot more support.
As for your videos, you should reencode them to a supported format.
It was brought to my attention that WMP should be able to sync the vids to my phone and in a playable format, so I'm trying that out.
EDIT: Works perfectly. Case closed.

avi video codec?

I've searched around in the forums and the wiki and can't find a codec to play videos encoded to avi in Windows Media. I installed wmvcodec.dll, and the video will sort of play in TCPMP, but it's seriously choppy. And WM still says it's unsupported. Is there any plugin for Windows Media player?

I use the Core player and it plays avi format flawlessly.
There is a setting in TCPMP, I think its in options, its called Raw Frame Buffer, enable this and it should work. Hope this helps.
