Voip just says searching

I installed wm6voip.cab and schaps voip config tool and have entered my settings. I am currently using internetcalls.com but I am willing to try others if this service is my problem. The today screen plugin always says searching. Anyone have any good step by step instructions on setting up voip? I am using dutty's v3 rom.

I take it you're using Schap's VoIP software. I had the same problem, but managed to fix it (I'm based in South Africa though). You must get the correct SIP settings from your provider.
My settings is based on Telfree South Africa -
Provider name: Telfree
User Account: Your IP Number (without starting 0) ie. 8775XXXXXX
Password: Password given by provider
Registrar Address: sip99.telfreesa.com
Port: 5060 UDP
Proxy Address: sip99.telfreesa.com (though proxy address is not required...)
Port: 5060 UDP
URI Address: Your IP number @ Provider SIP Address - ie. [email protected]
I noticed that the program automatically put "sip:" in front of the address in URI Address while you enter your account info - ie. "sip:[email protected]". I simply removed the "sip:", leaving just "[email protected]". This solved my problem and hope it will help you too...
yea i tried that it wasnt working though...anyone know any voip provider thats for free calls in us that works on the tilt please?
yea i got voip to work after testing out like crazy thank god now to just work on the internal speaker stuff
VOIP problems
Am also having problems getting the internet calling to work with Dutty's 6.1 ROM. Can anyone else shed any light on anything stupid I've missed?
-Fresh install of Dutty's 6.1 release
-Using Schap's VOIPsetup util config the SIP settings. Am trying to use Draytel but have also tried numerous services. Service details are draytel.org/5060 with no proxy.
-Whether trying to connect via 3G or Wifi, I get a 'Draytel: Searching' and then 'Draytel: No Service'. I can confirm the SIP service is active and can connect with identifical settings via a seperate softphone app so is definitely something config related.
What am I missing? Have search the forum high and low and no-one seems to have addressed this particular problem. All and any help appreciated.
Thanks.
hers what i did...for me voip setup didnt work so i downloaded sip config tool put in everything..i saved it..afterwards i went back into VoipSetup and i removed the "sip:" in the uri area
Unfortunately I've tried that already - didn't work. Any other thoughts?

Hi,
why do you want to use two connections for that? Weather and RSS also work over web.vodafone.de
I don't know any reason to use the wap-APN.
2 GPRS connections at the same time - parallely
Hi there,
Regardless if there are other ways to avoid two parallel gprs connections - I have (well had) exactly this: I use Blackberry client on my Touch Pro, this opens a gprs connection called "Blackberry" and if I update the weather or do any surfing, it opens another connection. I can then see them in the connection bubble. Very useful in my opinion.
Unfortunately, I just changed my ROM to a cooked one. And these two connections don't work anymore. Bad, as also the automatic email checking on my non- Blackberry accounts doesn't work anymore.
So if somebody knows, what to do to enable parallel gprs connections, please post it. I know it works as I had this working for 6 months without flaws.

WLM Client connecting to 3 network

i have got Iskoot working to connect to 3's network to use the free skype calls, but i am aware that Windows Live messenger is also able to connect to the 3 network to basically use IM for free.
i am currently using BsB 6.5 M, and it does not seem to have a Java version installed. What version of Java does the WLM Java client use? also would it be possible to hack the registry keys for the native WLM client with the right connection settings to use the 3 network for WLM?
