I installed the SPB shell 3on my Xperia and had lots of troubles with it, like no way to goes back to Today panel, no more X functions, and stall....but....I like it...
Now, I reinstalled the Xperia original software, and, if someone could tell me....Before installing the SPB shell 3, what exactly I need to do FIRST?
what Dll or else I MUST install first...

if U using stok ROM RAA1 maybe
try update ROM first
download spb 3.0 from the spb site. Then look up a serial somewhere. had no problems at all
It worked, for me without any modifications... I was on the R1 ROM at that point though.

after install spb shell 3, clean ur star up at windows, delete all. use explorer.. n soft reset. now u can choose manuali 2 spb shell menu
All of you, many thanks for yours advises, and going to study first what is my Rom number and, if I update my Room from, say 1 to 3, do I still need the number 2? sorry my Rom, but, in Hungarian a Rom, is a gipsy, BTW....
I did not knew, a CAB file instead of an EXE file installer could make a difference.....then? a golden rule would be to use an .exe file instead of a cab file?

then it must be something into the cab file..
Try the trial of SPB 3.0.1, not 3.0. Google to find it. This resolves some issues.

no need registry editor, just clean up ur starup.. with file explorer. windows/starUp.. and delete spb mobile shell, in my case i choose dellete all.. coz make faster with starUp the X1. same like a PC.. the X1 might be crash booting if the has a lot program in starUp.
or u can just leave auto config and not dellete this

perhaps your english is not fluent like mine, but, also, you are able to communicate with another language and, THAT, is the best...What is your native tongue? mine is french, then after a small english and then a very little hungarian...

I will, but, after reading all the helpful post, I just found out my Xperia was still runing on Customization version R15A with the variant generik_uk,
Now after having made the update, I see that I have now the R2AA010, perhaps, this is also why I have or had, who knows trouble.... Do I also must update the generik UK ?
Now, if I like to try WM 6.5 do I must update thru the forum, tho the R3AA? or not? here, I am lost, and yes true cooking is ok with me but Rom and UI are not for me...better some Rhum and Coke...heahh
Now I do wonder if it would be also better to reformat my microcard? because I almost install all softwares into it.....
I flashed my X1 to nX1i ROM (found here) and it's working very well so far.

Does anyone know if the Orange M700 Today plugin is available as a CAB anywhere or something similar? After upgrding to WM6 my other half is fit to kill me as she really liked it. I tried tempting her with SPB Shell but got one of those icy stares

Thanks SS, it's a good idea but unfortunately the ExtROM doesn't contain much of interest.

The UK M700 ext rom is pretty useless actually. it only contains 4 cabs
MP_MMS3.5_OrangeUK_Trinity_060811.CAB - setup MMS settings ONLY (doesnt include gprs and wap stuff)
MP_CVSDcpl_20060920.cab - adds the Voice Speed Dial control panel (standard in HTCs rom)
PP_Fix_ShowTodayTheme.cab - Changes the background
PT_WA_Abaxia.CAB - Turns on the Orange Plugin
Everything else is including in the rom itself, the orange sounds, today plugin, colour scheme, icons, programs etc so installing the ext rom wont get these back.

I know someone is trying to dump the Orange ROM but haven't seen one posted yet. Perhaps I should be thinking of an alternative? Any ideas?
You might care to try this,it's from the Hermes but works quite well on the Trinity.
I just extract it from my device, but might be localized in French...

I've got the files somewhere! They reside in the Application Data folder and are part of the main ROM installation, not extended ROM.
I'll try and find where I put them and repost

Note : as I said earlier this is from a FRE ROM...
As promised, here is an English version.
The DIL_APP folder must go under Application Data, so copy it there first, then copy the orange.reg file to the device, and tap on it in File Explorer to install it.
The Orange.tsk file goes in My Device/Windows and is the main Today Theme file selectable from Settings/Today.
The orange.bmp file can only be installed as part of a ROM manipulation, but is here for completeness!

When I copy the orange.reg file and click on it, i get told that i should open the application associated with it and run it from there.
Could anyone help please?

Hey guys, I am using Dutty's WM 6.1 19209 rom
What my problem is, i want to change the task manager that comes with this rom to the newer version so i can get my video to start recording. I dont know how to uninstall it and replace it because there is an icon in the programs folder.
I read somewhere that all i need to do is replace it and it will work but idk how to replace them in that folder.
So, you don't know how to uninstall it because there is an icon in programs. Interesting. I often get confused about uninstalling things because it's installed. Hmmm.. How about, this probley won't work but it could.

If it's there then you need to uninstall via the uninstall.
If not just install the new app, if it's a newer version of the same app it should uninstall automatically.
If this isn't what you ment then I suggest you write your problem out a bit better.

You should request this in the tread of rom, bigger chance one of the people who is using it or helping out on support there sees it. If not wait couple of days and perhaps bumping it. to me, the reads as you tried to copy it to the phone but it no workie.... I am shocked that the phone won't allow the file to be copied.
Copy and Install are 2 dif things.
I just want to know how to uninstall the one that came with the rom.
copying the new crap isnt the issue.
you cant uninstall it cause its cooked into the rom, use total commander and then you can copy it over
today i find this file from SE PlayNow and Rotation work fine with sms, browsing,Panel
u can add other app HKLM-Services-MultiService-mods-rotation-AADRClients
when installing u need to restart phone (soft reset),after go to Start-Settings-System-Accelerometer-Check Box(Enable automatic Rotation)

i download and install but icons got screwed up..there is no accelerometer icon..when i open video call accelerometer appears,when i open phone reset notification appears..and other stuffs..i had to hard reset the phone again..my x2 is generic sg..i tried it twice,same thing happened..any suggestions???

Use any registry editor. For example, embedded into Resco File Manager, or Total Commander/CE

no need for answer anymore, i'm trying my luck with "X2AccelerometerUtility.CAB" from this forum, seems to work smoother..
i INSTALLED the opera mobile on to my xperia. But even after using the X2accelerometer i am not able to see it rotating..
And also the main opening screen too...

according to the spb home page you have received an email with the registration key
so it should be simple and just depend on whether you dl it as *.exe or as *.cab
in case of *.exe it's on the PC and you should be able to rerun it and authenticate yourself using the mentioned registration key
similar with *.cab, secure the file on your sd card (keep a backup on PC as well if you like) before flashing a new rom and reinstall/register after installing sbp mobile shell
that's just an educated guess as I don't use the product, so in case you are unsure and nobody else answers I would advice on contacting their support team and/or doing some more detailed research yourself (e.g. start here)

at first i downloaded a trial version (i think it was a .cab file), and then registered it. but now i can't find that file on my sd card.
edit: no, i installed it using my pc (so with .exe file). i think that's the reason i can't find it

i already install..for example gwatch and also fingerkeyboard ....i check at remove program the gwatch and fingerkeyboard file is not there...i just want to make sure...maybe someday i want to remove the file...any other solution how to remove the file??

well what u can do is try remove everything. the icon and everything. and try to install another keyboard. a htc keyboard or touch keyboard perhaps? or u could try to locate a .cab for finger keyboard on the forums and install it if you dont wanna remove anything from ur program files.
