Problems on flashing my X1 - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

Hello everyone!
I am a rookie to windows mobile. I would like to flash my X1 but I don't know if this will affect the display of Chinese characters in my phone. I use the keyboard to type chinese too. I don't know how to distinguish which rom will affect my X1's 'Chinese compatibility'. Anyone can teach me how to distinguish which rom is compatible with chinese, or how to make the rom compatible with Chinese.
Million thanks to you!!

I would suggest not to use chinese rom. If you can read English, I think use English rom is better as most of the software are based on English platform. You can istall a chinese software for chinese writing and reading....That is what I am using
what software are you using to read chinese? I only need a viewer if you know any. Thanks

i have last chinese rom for dopod700, but the problem is you can not use it now, because i don't know how to flash it from english to chinese, i don't know which part of nbf i need replace. but i don't know how to upload here.
Subject: Re: Help!! Anyone have XDA IIs 2003 SE chinese ROM
Usually if u just want the chinese rom, u will just need to upgrade the nk.nbf file, u can keep ur old ms_.nbf and radio.nbf the file the same, provided u have a chinese rom now and there wont be any conflict between the extended rom. but if u have an english rom now, I dont think u can do much to upgrade to the chinese one yet. since u cant change the header files in the dopod 700 roms yet, because I cant find anyone who has got the password for it, i think the developers have changed the coding encryption, so we prbly have to wait until someone develope a new tool to change the settings! I hope this will be soon too!!! 8)
Thank you very much...
thank you very much...
If so body dumb their dopod 700 rom to be a file, can we use the file to change our xda iis ??
is it also need a password ??

Flashing A Original Rom

Hello everyone! First, I must say I have read the Wiki, used the search button, but didn't seem to find a correct answer to my question.
I just bought an Htc Diamond, but the language is dutch (I live in Belgium, where dutch and french are the two officials languages). It's not really bothering me, but I wanted to know if I can flash directly from HTC-website the original HTC Rom in French?
I know you guys prefer cooked roms, (I will try it at one point or another) but I just want to begin with something official.
Also, for doing this, do I need something special? (HardSPL, new radio?).
Thank you for your time.
Regards.
i dont think you can cos the country and carrier id is different! may be some one can confirm that!
The country is the same (Belgium, with two different official languages, Dutch and French).
So I think you can give it a try, but only in case you find a French official ROM for Belgium.
If there isn't any, maybe HTC made it partially unlocked so that it tolerates flashing of French ROM from France.
Otherwise, I don't see how people who buy a Diamond in French speaking area of Belgium would do.
In the worst case: Although there is no specific ROM for French speaking Belgian, HTC has locked the phone enough to avoid language switch (which doesn't make much sense), you will need to flash a hard spl first in order to CID unlock your device.
Thanks for you replies.
In case it doesn't work, all I have to do is HardSPL it, and then put the official French ROM from HTC.fr?
exactly

Multilingual ROMS

Right now I'm looking into flashing my Xperia X1 for the first time. I used to have a Samsung Omnia, customized the hell out of it, now this new beast just arrived for me. Twas about time! For starters I'd like to try some of the already estabilished X1 ROMs.
One thing really hard to come by when I flashed my Omnia was multilingual stuff. I managed to translate Manila but everything else took a higher knowledge.
So, does anyone know if there are any widely known multilingual custom ROMs? Are there any? Are all custom ROMs in english only?
Thank ye!
Well.....most ROMs you will find here are English.
But there are other languages amongst them, but some are older and maybe disconinued projects.
A ROM is unfortunately never multilingual, so if the language you seek isn't available you have to make your own. You can't flash a WWE ROM and change the language to German.

I sure can't change the language of an english ROM, but as there are localized official WinMo releases, can't these be customized /cooked?
they are cooked, there are a few chinese, german and french ones
look for them, you can still translate tf3d but most are only wwe for ease of cooking or space saving reasons

Brazillian portuguese. I'm still very green with the Xperia, just bought mine. It came in portuguese, I'm considering what's best way to customize it.

Well, I can't remember seeing a custom cooked Portugese ROM. So if you want to stick with Portugese you'll have to customize the stock ROM (wm6.1) or start baking your own ROM.
gtrab made a good tutorial on how to start cooking, see the stickies for that.
sorry^^^^
brazilian rom
hehehe nothing nothing, i never found

Thanks, I'll look into it.
By the way I was shocked to see Energy's MaxManila rom has a way to turn its interface into portuguese, an it actually works. Under the hood, WinMo is still in english, but converting the UI was already a blast to me.
