It's not freeware. You must pay for TouchPal.

I understand what you want but at this time I do not have the knowledge of how to make this happen. I have not found the way to change this. In the 3.5 version and older there was a background image not in 4.0 so I will continue to work on it. Hopefully someone here on XDA will fill us in on how to do this. Sorry..........will continue to look for a solution. I have posted a request on the CooTek forum.

Black keys with midnight blue pop ups or the other way around? Right now I am waiting for a response from the CooTek programers on how to make the background dark instead of light. If you want let me know the answer to the keys and I can do it tomorrow but the background will still be like the top of the black one until I get a response from CooTek ok? The screencapture below illustrates what I am talking about and when you touch the keys it shrinks and shows the small key surrounded by the lighter background. Eventually I will get it corrected.

To do bigger work SLITHER2007, I made some skins and better able to exploit this very useful.
To install need to download the thread Slither program SCLPC++0.51.
HERE you can find the download link and instructions for installation.
They can also make their donations to Slither in his thread.
So I open this block to have more centralized skins, and will be more easy to view and download.

@JAMILU007 - Is there any possibility you could supply the BMP for each individual icon so that original HTC Cube users can harness it ?
I would imagine that many users with HTC's original cube software that do not feel they need to install SPLCD as they've got the same functionality on the ROM. If you could supply BMP versions of each individual icons, we could convert them to the HTC recognised .BRN format for skinning the original cube.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask. I only take credit for porting and making a minor graphic change to the topbar highlights. on my 6.1 x1 the welcomehead works great but there is no animation apert from the xperia one at the start.
edit: fond the x1 animated gif in the windows dir its called SEMC1904.gif tried to remove or rename with total commander but it wont let me do either. any ideas?

Yes..It Will..If you start your device in landscape mode (IE opened HW keyboard) the splash screen will be cropped.
To emse:
You should start from an 800x800 png but make the image fit into 480x480 (top left) and leave the right/bottom space with background...
BTW..VERY NICE work.
I'll wait for the 800x800 version to embed it in my custom rom.

The image looks nice, but is it supposed to be really animated? It doesn't seem to animate on mine.
Yeah, doesn't work on landscape either. The portrait image is used and it's top part is occupying the left leaving the right part black.

Released. Woring on the new build (multilanguage).
Based on 3.9.10.10 Cab.
Working only on WVGA/HTC devices.

Now it works in every language Rom, i fix a thing in the extrator cab.
Every Resolution, every device, from QVGA to WVGA, and the widescreen versions.
Fixed the .ini file that in QVGA makes the skin ugly. Now it has the correct aspect ratio.
You have to install first the cab and then the skin. If you have the Swype keyboard cooked in, you have to install only the skin.
On NON-WWE ROMs you have to move the swype folder from your locale program files folder to /Program Files/.
I'm working on it totally free!

ATTENTION! Remove the password from your phone before installing the cabs, or it will lock your phone and you should hard reset =(
Here the images at full resolution.
If you could adapt it to VGA/QVGA/WQVGA and for non-htc device, it will be fantastic!

Honestly i could also post a cab of the portrait skin, but I don't like post something that is incomplete...
If at least one person want it, i could pack and upload to this post, else I continue with the Landscape skin and you'll wait for the final release

when i come back home, i'll try to install swype on my brother's omnia (WQVGA).
QVGA landscape mode isn't supportded by non-wide screens.So
So:
WVGA - WQVGA (PT and LS)
VGA - QVGA (PT only)
But... why did you posted it here?! XD
mmm i could try to install the VGA and the QVGA version on my older devices and if the landscape is just resized from the wide version, i could make every cab

no, i'm sorry, the QVGA/WQVGA is too smaller (4 times) and with a different height (77% of the ratio).
Last week i had a QVGA Device and i hate the ugly resize of the themes and application, now i'm on WVGA and i'm skinning for that resolution.
QVGA is too older for spend times to support it, i'm betting all on VGA/WVGA

I know that creating these skins are very time consuming so if my quality is up to standards with that of your own, you are welcome to use the .bmp that I created for the Numeric and Editing LS.

If you have some spare time, you could try to make the qvga resizing... not just make shorter the image, but deleting some pixel lines between keys... did you understand me?
Looks brilliant and works well. Top work.
The quality may not be up to par with the original which should be expected but it doesn't look half bad on my device. I just hate waiting. Greak work though!!!
mine landscape keyboard with letters (not symbol) is really amazing (eheheh) this evening i'm at my grandma house, so i cant work on it. Tomorrow before evening i'l try to release everything! like a Christmas gift!
(only if the christmas presents aren't better!)

I have been inspired with dozen of posts searching for black GTX so I decide to make skin by my own,just to see what happens when you turn white into black....and perhaps someone could like it or use it..Every single file (355 files so far) has been altered to its negative in Corel one by one individually and accurately turned into its own negative component...Because there is a lot of job to do yet (some hard coding about colors and fonts inside manila9 files,changing icons and slider )..Full colorfull weather images comes from original ROM but they are altered also to enhance graphic contrast of all interface.
DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS :
AS A FIRST DISSABLE SENSE UI AND SOFT RESET AFTER EVERY INSTALLATION
1. Install Mamba GTX skin
2. Install CHT Editor ( If you wish)
3. Install Cookie Hometab ( if you wish )
4. Install GTX 6.5 Mamba Theme.cab, player,slider, weather and clock from attachment
5. Install Mamba Hotfix
Reset device and start SenseUI.That is all !

Adequite WM 6.5 tsk theme becouse I am not such a good theme maker

It could be done in any colour.But,I need specific colour RGB code for skinning ( blue colour has a lot of subvariations )
all images has to be altered ONLY in specific colour code for persistance of theme.So far, I have seen enough posts who asked for black negative version,so I am working daily on it now..Perhaps some new colour packages of this theme will be prepared in nearby future..

Yes indeed.It spins thought in my mind..perhaps GTX is skin based on a stockrom and reverted in colors..hm...I would not know.
To get my permission (and to use the name GTX) you should enhance the theme far more. If people see it and know it is GTX inspired, they'll think GTX looks like this. To be honest, this doesn't look very good.

I really love a Black GTX theme.
But your current theme still needs a lot of work, like proper font color and proper color modifications.
Nevertheless, great effort and I look forward for your updates!

Thank you for taking your time to see BEGINNING STEPS but this is only WORKING VERSION and not for distribution.It needs to be polished MUCH MUCH further. I AM CONTINUING one by one file,and this version now in my phone is much much better ...
Progress work will be announced as development steps continuos...
I am doing right now rendering and shadowing elements with specifications named in GTX HOME THREAD (carefull with rounding corners! )
also I separate manila9 files to do some coding of colours and font elements. etc.etc.etc....
but this is early beginning phase because I work alone, so EVERY KIND OF HELP will be generous !

I think instead of inverting the colors, just make a darker version.. Use a darker color to replace most of the graphics i guess? Right now its not very pleasent because most of the ridges and strokes of the images show up pixelated. When i seen that it would be an inverted version i thought it would maybe be inverting both the grey and white. So all the grey in the original theme would become white and the white grey (if you get what am saying, not including the bg). I think that would probably be a better concept.. But as you wish.
Its great to see this concept running, just needs tuning.

I know such people, and have some such friends.Design snobs expect everything finished and polished.Developing phase to them is totaly irellevant.About Bauhaus movement is everything on internet ( and I am pritty in it also),and I am shure that I would not named it, if it was not be that style.Every theoretical discussion is irelevant to me.I need some PRACTISE discussion !
So,for conclusion, I need now "design snob" for coding,not for theory.If you suggest some hands on design or something similar,it will be very,very welcome,but theory,I do not need it.Thank you for dropping by here,and I expect you to drop by only when I finish it.

Everything is just inverted here on preview for now.Nothing more.But accordingly to GTX Specs,I am doing fine polishing as you menteoned in your post,and it will looks like your origin GTX only inverted.So,I named thread as it is now because it will look like that on the end.Not to worry.You will be first person to see result before any decission or distribution.When it finished,decision will be on respected GTX team.
The most problem is that until now,no one offers some practicle and constructive help ( coding manila9 files for example ) so I am alone on "all fronts" of project,but I dont want to hurry up,to avoid unneccesery mistakes..
