Updates:
Changed Search UI so that it is no longer its own activity. This will allow the user to back out of the search box and still use the switcher on the bottom to switch between search, browse, and terminal.
Replaced pop up in search box with Search hint.
Corrected the trackball from defaulting to control key when changing Terminal prefs. Basically it will allow it to work as the enter key again after changing preferences.
Current users will have to change the preferences the first time they update in order to correct the issue if you previously had it.
menu> preferences> command key: select something other than jog ball
Updates 1.5:
Fixed Search UI bug
added preferences for List color, Text Size, and Selector Color
New:
Added ability to create sym links
Updates 1.6:
Email Support
Better thread processing to prevent system hangs and crashes.
Random amusement?
Updates 1.7:
Multiple Viewer and editor support Support
Issue with 1.7:
It appears that something was miscodded causing crashing whenever a dialog attempts to appear this will be fixed tonight I appologize in advance.
The app is currently unpublished for now. until i can fix this
1.7 Re-Published as 1.7.1:
Delete / Paste Crash Fixed
Update 1.7.5:
Search Fixed for Newer Hero Build
Current Directory/Browse To bar implemented
Partition RW/RO Status added
Update 1.7.8:
Filter set up for "Browse To" bar to prevent typos.
Bugs: Symlinks Broke?
Not sure if symlink in the code is broken or maybe if its this new hero build 2.3.3 I tried to manually create a link and that fails as well.
Any Feedback on this one would be appreciated.
Update 1.9:
Cleaned up a lot of code
added some additional menu icons
Better Alert descriptions
file support to the Browse to bar for manual entries
Update 1.9.5:
Recursive Zip Support Added for Extraction
Compressions support in the works.
view, extract all or single targets to the directory of your choice.
Remember u must Mount as RW if you would like to extract to anywhere other than in your SD card.

Optional Expandable tool bar added with:
Settable Home Button
Bookmarks
Quick Exit
Update 2.0:
Browser Download Helper Added per requests
Update 2.1:
Multi Select support added. no buttons needed, just click the icon next to the file. You can also select across multiple directories so be careful
Zip File Creation Added. You can Zip ALL files unlike other zip apps out there. Zipping files on other partitions than the sdcard may be slower though due to the special means needed for the files to be zippable.
Unzip/install apk option added for those that wanted to be able to view the apk contents
Download helper change. Hopefully this will fix the issue that arose with android 1.5 and email crashing with txt html and pdf files if u had astro, download crutch or any download helper

New Updates

No available on the market for me...

Linda file Manger works well for me

Is this App protected
This app doesnt appear in the market search
i had already purchased this when i had my G1
Now that i have a G2 touch, the app appears in my downloads in the market, but will not install........
Anyone else having this problem with protected apps

Why post this without proper research
this App will not show as available on Hero
Also, as i had downloaded this on my G1, this app shows up in "my downloads" in the market, but will not successfully download
Sort this problem out before promoting in the Hero forum

I have done my research. This is not an issue with MY app or something I can solve. This was a decision by google and HTC for certain builds. Not all Phones running Hero will have US 1.5 paid apps locked that is why it is advertised here. As far as Linda goes, your more than welcome to use your preference but Linda is not a root browser so to compare them would not be just.

New updates please see Dream thread link located in sig

[HowTo] Get your Themes with cmupdater [Updated 28/10/2009]

Hey Guys!
All you have to do is put a additional file under /system/framework (so the Updater knows the Theme Version your running on) and create your own MetadataFile for Theme Support.
You can also create a Big MetadataFile with all the Updates in there, but thats a whole work to keep it up to date.
Take a look at the wiki, how the JSON-File has to look, and how the update will work:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogen-updater/wiki/CreateJSONMetadataFile
When you have questions: Just ask
Hope you like it
Update 28/10/2009:
CM-Updater 4.5 is out.
Get it here:
http://cyanogen-updater.googlecode.com/files/cmupdater_4.5.apk
Update 09/09/2009:
Added a HowTo
Update 08/09/2009:
CM-Updater 4.1 is out:
Fixed Bug when changing orientation while Barcodescanning
Fixed Bug with MD5SUM to Pad the String to 32chars
UpdateFolder can now be changed (i think its beta )
Suggestion for all Theme Developers(cause some host their themes on one click hosters):
Create a google code Project to host your themes and your JSON.
You can put up to 2gb Files on there and you have direct downloads.
For Barcodes use this link(creates permalinks):
http://qrcode.kaywa.com/
HowTo:
When you want to Use the Theme Update Feature, youn have to configure a Theme Server first. I haven't included one, because each ThemeDev has its own Theme JSON File.
Search your Favourite Theme Thread @ XDA and see, if the Designer already made it cm-updater compatible. If not ask him if he can do so and point him to this Thread.
If its compatible, just go to Settings-->Themes-->Theme Update Server, and enter the URL (must be a URL to a file called *.json) or just scan a Theme Barcode if the ThemeDev provided one. The Barcodescanning is the same as entering it manually, but it saves work so you don't have to type in the url.
The next Time you do a "Check now" the ThemeUpdaterServer File will be scanned (also the Rom Updates) and if the Theme matches some criterias (see below), it will show up in the App under Themes. All you have to do now, is download the File and hit "Apply Now".
When you are complaining about, the Themes and Roms are showing up even tough you already installed it, just disable the "Show all Updates" Option. When this is enabled, you will always see every Update(with a few limitations as described above). When you disable this feature, you will probably only see Updates.
How the Updater works (Themes):
Theme Developers put a File called
/system/framework/themes.theme
in their Themepackages, to tell the Update you are running a Theme with this name and this Version.(The Path is configurable)
When there is no themes.theme File present, the App assumes a Wildcard for Theme Checking (will come to this later).
When any of the described checks don't pass, the Update is Discarded and the App proceeds with checking the next Update in the List.
When you do now an Updatecheck, first the Rom Provided in the JSON File (Theme Update Server) must match the Rom your running. This is because a Theme is always designed for a specific Version of a Rom, and this is a Securityfeature that you can not mess up your System.
When your Rom Matches, the next thing from the JSON that gets compared is the Theme Name.
This must either match the Theme Name from the themes.theme, or if this File is not Present or you have the "Show all Theme Updates" Option enabled, the Wildcard is used. So this Updates will always show up, so you can install a Theme, if you dont have one installed.
Next thing is the Version. If Wildcard(no themes.theme File or Show All Updates enabled) is used, the Version is not compared. Otherwise its compared against the Version from the themes.theme, so you will only see updates for your Theme and no older Versions.
The last thing that must match is the branch. Its either Stable or Experimental. It depends on your Configuration (Show Experimental Builds), if this update shows up or not.
When your Update is not showing up, connect your Phone via USB Cable and do an
Code:
adb logcat | grep "<CM-Updater>"
You will see the Output from the App, and the Reason why an Update is discarded. It can be helpful for Theme devs to test their own Jsons.
damn i cant wait for this
Thanks for all your work! Already prepping to use and abuse this feature for my themes :]
Greatly appreciate your work.
This sounds great! Will definitely look into it more when I get the chance.
This is just amazingly awesome...

great idea
So are there two buttons now? One to check mod update other for your theme update? Build in devs metadata file location and have a drop down menu so you can switch themes on the fly. Maybe add a link to go to a location with 5 or 6 screenshots that pop up in the browser? To make it super easy. Add an option to input your own custom locations and save them and make them nameable and selectable from a drop down menu. Devs can just include a location in thread topic of their metadata file. And when you need to add a feature...just add in new metadata file links as well. Like custom apns i suppose.
Is there going to be some way for it to keep track of theme compatibility? For example, I have a theme (Enoch) which works with 4.0.4, but EnochX works only with 4.1.X. If they tried to install EnochX on 4.0.4, or Enoch on 4.1 - what would happen? Will CMUpdater know not to install incompatible themes? Perhaps there should be a JSON identifier for what build a theme is compatible against?

The "mod" string in the json must match the ro.modversion from /system/build.prop . Otherwise you will not see the update. Maybe i will add multiple mod strings
impressive!
wow, i can not wait to use this! i'm glad that your including theme support so now we can handle themeing a lot easier
awesome work!
Now you can add multiple mod strings to support more roms per update-
in example cm 4.1.1 and 4.1.1.1 where the themetemplate hasnt changed
You have to split them with a |
made a new testing version for you with more features
check out the first post!
added a barcode picture in the first post so you can scan it for my smaple json. Its much easier than typing
just a check....
who has already started implimenting this?
we plan to release on sunday - giving u guys some time to catch up and get ready
IF you have ur json and themes ready by sunday, email me with the URL and description
i plan to give the links to 5-10 theme jsons in the 1st post if you guys are ready
i will be out of contact from monday til friday, so sunday is the deadline to get ur theme in the "featured" list
What about themes that replace files like framework.jar or services.jar willthose work?

why should it not work?it only downloads the theme and applies it via the recovery image.
The same way as when you do it manually.
Brilliant!

I've got a themes.theme file in my latest as well as a json file uploaded to http://injun.org/themes/SystemForce.json (case important i think) if anyone wants to try it out in incidental releases.
prash...have a look at the 1st post of the updater thread...
would be good to have u in the featured list
can u make a quick mock-up of the theme for 4.1.2.1?
im using that version so cant actually "see" your 4.0.4 themes
if it works then u, my friend, will be the 1st in the featured list

This build is based on the latest leak of the OTA. It has Flash 10.1 modded for Hulu included in the build. You no longer need to install it after flashing the ROM. I have also included my mod of the Hulu application that allows it to go full screen, use the sensor for landscape mode and then close properly when you're finished. In addition, the demons have been vanquished from this build. A little holy water on those shared library files always does the trick. If you use Visual Voicemail, please just install it from the Market as I have removed the HTC one.
--==--
The problem with Gmail and the new Voice Search is also non-existent in this build. I had to sit them down. but they are finally playing nice together. Try out the 'Note to Self' or other voice commands Google has built in to the application. For music, I am including MusicMod by Eliot Stocker. It's much like the stock music application but much better. It also integrates with Android much the same.

There are two scripts for your convenience. You must use GScript, SL4A, ADB or a terminal emulator to run them. When executing 'rotaryunlock' or 'tabunlock' you no longer need to be root before doing so. In addition you will be presented with a menu as shown below.
Please choose from the menu
1) normal
2) normal+menu unlock
3) music buttons
4) music buttons+menu unlock
5) get me out of here!
Simply type the number of your choice and press enter. As long as you have Rom Manager installed, your phone will then reboot. If it does not, simply do a manual reboot to enable the change. There is a shortcut method available to avoid using the menu. Just type your desired script and the number choice after it before pressing enter. It will bypass the menu, make your requested change and reboot your phone.

Apps2ext: Darktremor Apps2SD 2.7.5 RC3b (Experimental)This link is to a flashable zip. It contains the scripts for this to work with RC3. I modified them to work with our phones and this ROM. Do not install this application from anywhere else. Even the thread regarding this in this forum has scripts that will mess up your phone. They are not configured correctly for our devices. Only install this from here.
NOTE: Your sd card MUST be partitioned for this to work. This can be done using the new Amon Ra recovery. Partitioning an sd card will ERASE everything on the card, so back it up before you do so.

I think the only two things I had to pull from the 2.5.2 rom was the HTCAlbum and HTCRadio, will these be included or should I just put them in again myself?
Thanks!!!

I have been waiting for this ROM as well...can't wait to try it.
I am not quite sure what the file "Apps2ext: Darktremor Apps2SD 2.7.5 RC3b " does. Do I need to install this with this release. Could someone explain this to me. Thanks!
Does this ROM contain the Exchange ActiveSync?
I was running 2.5.2 and happily using it, am I just too stupid to find it in 3.0?
Downloading at this time... Running upgrade from 2.5.2 to test upgrade path for most...
Installing without wiping now...
Coming from RC1, boots up nice and fast. Testing.
This is great. Thank you!

I'm getting a white screen on the Hulu app. Hulu.com works tho.

[Theme][MetaMorph] Krispy's Gingerbread for CM6.1 ROMs v1.3.1 - update 13-12

(scroll down a bit for download links)
Description:
This is basically a metamorph version of l0st.prophets "GingerFroyo" with a few differences:
Uses Metamorph instead of an update.zip to apply theme
Your final look is determined by which packages and subthemes you apply (you have more options, e.g. you don't like the gingerbread-style animations? You don't apply that package)
Both grey and green statusbar icons (default is grey)
Includes a font that is somewhat more subtle (from the Palm Pre)
Misc. minor subtle differences (like the half transparent background of the dropdown)
Problems using metamorph or prefer an update.zip? Look here for l0st.prophet's flashable update instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864451

v1.3.1:
Fixed font copy location
Fixed tab bug (in main package); thanks for the heads up, ximmox!
v1.3:
Moved files to public dropbox folder (HERE)
Restructured packages into individual zips for different items (see post below)
Added (optional) Froyo animation package. You can now revert if you don't like the wobly gingerbread style.
Added menu packages for Froyd 1.7.2 and Floyo 1.1.9 (could work on Floyo 1.2.0; untested)
12-12-2010: v1.2: Major kudos to l0st.prophet; this update is only possible thanks to him.
Nexus S default wallpaper
Added (optional) menu package for dark menus (see screenshot)
Added (optional) green icon package for statusbar icons
Added (optional) Browser and Dailer subthemes
Restructured metamorph package
10-12-2010: v1.1 now has both animation- and theme-packages in seperate metamorph directories. That way you can choose whether you want those animations or not ... or just the animations Also it has cleaned up contactframes (aka they be gone now) as well as cleaned up waiting spinners (no more jagged edges there).
09-12-2010: Thanks to studjuice for pointing me to the anim xmls, which have now been included in an extra package (those that don't want the fly-in animations can still use the original zip).

Downloads
The public dropbox folder contains the following zip-packages (which you will have to extract to your sd-card; see instructions below):
KrispysGingerbread_1.3.1_Main.zip
KrispysGingerbread_1.3_Animation.zip
KrispysGingerbread_1.3_GreenIcons.zip
KrispysGingerbread_1.3_Menu_CM61.zip
KrispysGingerbread_1.3_Menu_Floyo119.zip
KrispysGingerbread_1.3_Menu_Froyd172.zip

How to use:
!!!
Please, please, please make sure that you have are using the default theme (Stock) with the white status bar before continuing (this is important; you can reset it by going to Settings -> Cyanogenmod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweaks Extra -> Reset UI tweaks to default).
!!!
"KrispysGingerbread_1.3.1_Main.zip" contains:
"CM6settingsXML" contains an xml for use with Cyanogenmod settings. It is the colour definition I use (makes the clock and notifications turn white). This xml-file should be extracted to your sd card in "CMTheme". Then you can select it by going to Settings -> Cyanogenmod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweaks Extra -> Select a theme.
"KrispyGingerbread_Main" contains the basic metamorph (a directory) and you should extract that to the "AndroidThemes" directory on your sdcard. This main package contains 4 subthemes: the font, browser update, dailer update and framework-res.apk: the meat of the package.
"KrispysGingerbread_1.3_Animation.zip" contains the gingerbread-style animations metamorph and you should put that in the "AndroidThemes" directory on your sdcard as well. This package also contains a metamorph with the original Froyo-style animations in case you want to go back.
"KrispyGingerbread_1.3_Menu_***.zip" contains the metamorph with the gingerbread bottom menu (dark), depending on your ROM.
note: If you apply this metamorph, there is no easy way back to the default style. Should you wish to do this, reflash your ROM version (only cache wiping) and reapply the packages you want or drop me a pm and I'll see what I can do.
"KrispyGingerbread_1.3_GreenIcons.zip" contains statusbar icons in green. Copy to SD blablabla.
Then install using metamorph (here's a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591329 )
Disclaimerthingy:
So I made this for myself, but seeing as there is some demand for this in the froyd thread, I figured I'd share this. I take no credit for anything other than the resizing (which is not a big deal anyway). I did not skin the bottom dwelling menu (the one that pop's up if you press the menu key), because I haven't been able to change the font colour and you'd get black on black (unreadable). If someone knows how to change that, please tell!
I've tested it on CM6.1 stable, but my guess is that it should work for other android 2.2- or CM-based ROMs as well. I don't plan on supporting this, but if you post something here I might look at it. Also, feel free to use the images in the pack, they're Google's anyway
ENJOY!
hallo! i'm using froydvillian 1.7. when i apply the metamorph theme nothing happens (i think the font changed)... i have tried several times now. i have chosen krispyGingerbread.xml and get no errors. no errors on startup check either.
any ideas?
Not working for me, getting stuck at installing Krispy fonts and does not advance

Not working on my froyd 1.7 too.

Hmmm... odd
Seems you have problems with Metamorph in general then. It could be that the file permissions are not set correctly.
Using either the adb or root explorer, can anyone on Froyd check the file permissions of:
/system/fonts/* (mine are set to --rwxr-x)
/system/framework/framework-res.apk (mine is set to rw-r--r--)
The other problem could be with the /system partition being mounted as r/o rather than r/w, but that's a bit trickier to solve.
same permissions on froyd....damn i already got excited!
I found this in the Metamorph thread and I remember doing this at one point so you might want to try this:
"That actually is a busy box issue, it is not being given proper permission.
get the app "terminal emulaltor" from the market
then type this into the emulator

chmod 755 /system/xbin/busybox"

shoot! I'm assuming you have plenty of space on your system partition.
What's the output of "df"?
output:

Well.. it's not about space then. Last thing I can come up with is renaming the directory to something without special characters, e.g. "KrispysGingerbread".
I had some problems applying the fonts, but it worked after the rename. I've updated the zip, maybe you could try that one?
tried the updated zip. still no errors and theme is not applied.
i'm on osx and one thing i noticed is, after your zip is unpacked and i try copying KrispysGingerbread folder in sdcard/AndroidThemes i get an error saying that the operation cannot finish because an object with the same name already exists.... and there is nothing in that folder...
so my solution is that i copy the whole zip into sdcard/androidtheme and let metamorph unzip it. i then browse to the xml and apply it
the copying of KrispysGingerbread always stops after jog_tab_target_yellow.png in KrispysGingerbread/framework-res/res/dawable-mdpi , if that helps...
Have tried myself with this, and with new zip will apply the fonts but not the theme itself, although it states its applying framework-res.apk and then asks if you want to reboot to see your changes.

Just installed MetaMorph and went about to enable this theme. Works wonders! Had to run MetaMorph twice though to get it to run without asking about more space on /system.
Thanks! Looks awesome!
Looking really good, but aren`t network and 3G icons green.
Are you going to add other stuff?

I suspect this has something to do with roaming on a network or something like that: my colleague has the same green icons and uses an small operator that uses the network of a smaller one. I'm on vodafone and mine are just white.
I might theme more.. if I find the time
A small addition to your theme, hope you don`t mind.

I've ported this to the Galaxy I7500 running GAOSP. Posted in a thread on Drakaz android forum (I wasn't allowed to link to outside sites yet apparently), giving you credit.
Thanks for your work, it works great and looks nice!

General Info
I do not have a Nexus S to test this on, so I would appreciate it if someone could a.) alert me, preferably on twitter, when a new build is made, and b.) let me know if the theme I post here works.
This theme is extensive with over 2000 edited .png files and more than 35 .xml files.
There are no icons included with this theme. If you would like icons, then you can use ADW.Launcher or ADW EX download Minimalist - ADW Theme.
If you would like to donate to me for my work in this theme, then you can download the Donate version of the above mentioned theme. Search for "Minimalist Donate - ADW Theme" to find it.
If you would like to port this theme to any other device or use any part of it for your own doing, then you can download my images and edited .xml files from this post.
You do not have to ask me if you can port this or use any part of it. You do not have to credit me for any of my work in this theme.
I will not be checking this page frequently, but I will try to answer any questions posted here whenever I update the links. If you want a quicker answer, then I suggest saying something to me on Twitter (@david1171_).
This theme is for the official CM7 Nightly ROMs.
Theme Info
The widgets are transparent with white text. I recommend using a dark wallpaper.
The font included in the theme is the Ubuntu font.
If you are using Amon_RA's recovery and the theme is not applying after flashing, then you need to use clockwork recovery.

Install Instructions: PLEASE READ!!!
1. Set MetaMorph delay to around 1000 (My exact number is 1054) then press Close
2. Press Unzip/Extract new theme
3. Navigate to where you have Minimalist_Lockscreen_Icons.zip located
4. Select the file
5. Press close on the on the pop up that appears
6. Press Apply all!
7. It WILL force close com.android.phone when it applies the Phone.apk, I do not know of any way around this.
8. While the force close pop up is on the screen, another pop up menu will appear behind the force close pop up and the buttons will say either Continue? or Stop; you must quickly press Force close on the force close pop up, then press Continue? on the other pop up menu; it will then start applying the framework-res.apk
9. The device may freeze up at this point, if it does freeze up (mine did), then wait about 30 seconds, then pull the battery and boot your phone
10. Everything should be applied now

like this theme a lot. Is it possible to use default gingerbread look on the keyboard?
Thanks
Thanks for this! I was the one you emailed about this theme and the NS, and I'm really glad you made a version for this phone. It works without a hitch, and combined with the ADW theme you made, I now have a really good looking phone =)

This has the new 2.2.11 version of the market in it, so if your market is still stock after flashing this theme, then you need to go to settings/applications/market and press uninstall updates.

Take the LatinIME.apk from /system/app/ of the Nightly build you are using and push/place in /system/app/ on your phone.
Code:
adb remount
adb shell stop
adb push LatinIME.apk /system/app/LatinIME.apk
adb shell reboot
or you can place it there with a file explorer with root access, but I recommend the above method as you stop your phone, so you shouldn't have to worry about any unnecessary force closes.

Added Morph to OP for lockscreen icons for those that do not like completely transparent lockscreen. Please read the instructions and do exactly as they say.
Edit1: Also, I believe with the next release, I am going to restructure the way the links are set up in the OP. As it stands right now, it is an ineffective model that takes up a lot of unnecessary space. As anyone who follows me on twitter knows, when I mention my updates on there, I just link to a folder on media that contains folders of each supported device, then in that folder are the theme files for each device. If I go to just having a link to that main folder containing all the sub folders like I do on twitter, then I do not have to go about updating the links in 9 different threads with each release, and I do not have a space for old download files, since they can be gotten from the same place as the current download file. I think this method will make for a less cluttered OP, and save time overall.
Updated to cm_crespo_full-27.zip.
Working fine on 28, but you do lose the screen on/off animations....
mine works i had an issue with running spare parts on screen animations fast if u have that on turn it off should work then

THE SKINNY
WHAT IS NIGHTLY UPDATER
Nightly Updater is an AROMA installer for those that
yearn to have the cleanest device. Since I first
owned an HTC Droid Eris, I have been wiping bloatware
off of my device. Flash foward to my latest devices -
LG Nexus 4 and the 2013 Asus Nexus 7 and there ain't
much bloatware... But, all AOSP ROMs tend to come with
at least one or two apps that I can do without (and
sometimes a lot more). Nightly Updater is a simple
tool that allows users to remove unwanted system
applications in an easy manner. NU also allows users
to customize which apps are removed.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Nightly Updater works by relying on scripts that
read txt files. When customizing your script, the
installer looks for junk.txt in the "NU" folder of
your virtual (i.e. internal) SD card. Each line that
has not been "commented out" (i.e. does not have a
"#" at the front of it) or any terms (i.e. app
descriptions) that follow a "#" are removed from the
script. This leaves Nightly Updater with a clean text
file that only has the applications you want to remove.
Review:
Custom Script is called: junk.txt
Custom Script goes here: /sdcard/NU/junk.txt
#Chrome.apk -- NOT DELETED FROM DEVICE
Chrome.apk -- DELETED FROM DEVICE
Chrome.apk #Google Browser -- AFTER "#" IGNORED
HOW DO I ADD MY OWN APPS
You can add your own apps in three ways: [1] name (without
apk), [2] name (with apk), or [3] file path.
[1] Name (without ".apk")... Just type:
Code:
Chrome
The installer will automatically know it is looking for an apk and
delete Chrome.apk.
[2] Name (with ".apk")... Just type:
Code:
Chrome.apk
I think you know what it does.
[3] Full File Path... Now, you can get a little funkier and do the entire
file path like:
Code:
/data/app/Chrome.apk
This comes in
handy for files like pre-loaded wallpapers and
ringtones you may want to remove. Be cognizant of
where the files you are removing are located! This
will become very important when telling Nightly
Updater where to scan.
By the way, Nightly Updater also recognizes wildcards.
This is great for those user apps that end up having
unpredictable file names. For example:
Code:
/data/app/com.google.android.youtub*.apk
com.google.android.youtube*
These are both ways of erasing YouTube regardless of
the "-X" at the end of the file name.
WHAT'S UP WITH SCANNING
When using a Custom Script, Nightly Updater asks
where you would like to scan for apps. By default,
Nightly Updater recommends you only scan in the
System/App folder - which is where (shocker) system
apps are located. Remember, most junk apps are located
in System/App. However, Nightly Updater has also given
the option to scan Data/App. Some developers will put
apps in the Data/App folder, so it may be useful to
remove apps from there. But NORMALLY, these are only
the apps you chose to install. The final option is
to scan EVERYWHERE. Be very cautious with this command!
Remember that it is matching what you write in
junk.txt with the scan parameter. If you accidentally
wrote "system" as an app you wanted to remove instead
of SystemTuner.apk (with full scan on)... you would
erase your system folder... that's REALLY BAD!!!
Now, if you only check this option when you are using
full path and double check your junk.txt file so that
you did not make any mistakes... YOU ARE GOOD!!!
When in doubt, post your junk.txt here and I will
check it over for you
WHAT'S THE DEFAULT SCRIPT
If you download junk.txt from the OP at XDA, then
you have seen the Default Script. The Default
Script is meant to remove apps that MOST people
would consider expendable. If you are nervous to
tinker with your own Custom Script, try running
the Default Script first. If the script deleted
an app you need or did not delete at app you want
to destroy - hit me up and I will walk you
through the steps.

Just a quick bump for the Version 1.5 update. Lots of ideas brewing in the Flo/Deb thread for new features. Any ideas over in Mako land?
Hey y'all! Working on a sizable update that is trying include several things requested from different devices. Looking for a little help on the testing side. First few that hit me up will get it.

BIG WARNING! DO NOT use the Data Wipe in version 1.5 and below. The script does not exclude the "media" folder... As some of you know... That's the SD CARD! I just did it and it SUCKED lol It will be fixed in the next version along with many new updates

Any chance you can put the files in a normal attachment to the post? However you've done it only works if the user has XDA 2013 beta defined as their forum theme.

I will get right on that with the next update! I'm beginning to think this DevDB thing was a mistake. Good idea in theory but is hard for mobile users and those not wanting to use the latest theme. Hopefully the next update is right around the corner :fingers-crossed:
I don't see anything really N4 specific. Have you considered placing your tool in the general android apps forum for all to use? I just upgraded a nook hd+ to carbon rom and was planning to put the nightly updater on it so thought I'd double check in case I missed something.
