Windows Mobile App Repository

There is currently one app repository on XDA the thread is as follows.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471576
However, I am trying to develop similar software which allows users to register with the website and create different profiles, create packages, revise packages, and search by device, WM version, package name and other traits.
For example, on my Kaiser I like to have the total commander, Skype, pocket rar, Google maps, and other software. I would like to be able to select the necessary programs either via PPC software or the website and automatically download and install the software on my devices. (a lot like tierautoinstaller) in addition when new versions come out I would like to have to option of automatically installing the updated version.
The package system would work much like Apt-get from the debian Linux distribution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apt_get. Each package would have an owner and contributors. The owner is the person who created it and can delete it. Contributors will have assignable powers to modify package information and release new versions of the program.
Each user will be able to select his/her packages and they will be saved in the database. The cabs will can to be retrieved from either the software on the device (still needs to be made) or the website (work in progress).
Currently I have a mySQL database as my backend and have created the basic dynamic webpages in perl which can browse, search, create and modify packages. Each package will have an external url and an internal cached copy for fault tolerances. More details will be disclosed as my development contuines.
If this sounds like something you will use or have any suggestions please let me know. Work has been kicking my butt lately but as soon as I finish the user registration part of the website I will put it up for a few test trials.

Mods: Since I currently own a Kaiser and only have software for a Kaiser I would like to keep this thread here until the initial testing phase is complete and I am ready to expand to other devices.
I don't get why there are 3-4 (likely 6-12) app stores out there, all incomplete, all with few apps listed. Rather than build another one, how about working with one which fits your ideas and contributing.

AndroidSPIN

Hey everyone,
Stop on over to AndroidSPIN and check it out.
Host your ROMs, Themes and everything else
No more searching for free hosting space to place your ROMs with limited download speeds and 60 second waiting periods for downloaders.
We have formed a small group to put together the next version of AndroidSPIN and wanted to get some feedback and input from the development community.
A FREE central repository for the Android Community with FREE, Unlimited bandwidth File Hosting.
We are always working on the new site and some of the functionality we are developing is:
Each developer will have their own section in our system where you will be able to post all the info about your ROMs. The information will be similar to the current Android ROM database only searchable in ways you can only dream about….Well, many ways anyway.
e.g. You will be able to go into the database and say you want a ROM for the G1 that has Bluetooth support, Tethering and the Rosie UI and the database will provide you with a list of the compatible ROMs.
* You will also have ROM upload space (no more searching for free accounts) and your ROM files will be tied to the database so people can download them directly and not have to switch between the ROM database and XDA or whatever else.
* You will have full access to anything related to your ROMs so you can keep the info up to date.
* A Dedicated forum that you will Moderate yourself.
* We will provide any RSS / XML streams for other people to use for almost anything. So if you want to write a single ROM update program for the Android Phones, you can write the app and take the latest info directly from the ROM database. This will mean that the data will always be the latest info from a common location as long as we can get your support.
* You’d be able to see how many times you’re ROM has been downloaded and how the community rates it.It’s up to the you and the community to let us know what you want from the system.
We want to build this correct from the beginning. We want to build something that the community would really use.
This is just the start of things to come but we need need your input!!!
What do you want to see?
What will help you get your ROMs, Themes, Applications and more out to the community quickly and easily?

I've bagged a semester project recently, called 'Social Data Mining on Smartphones'. I've added the task description as an attachment to this post. Do have a look!
Now - I installed the ADT/SDK plugins for Eclipse and tried out the 'Hello World' programme once following the Developer's Tutorial - that's it!
I'm all set to being my project... but.. there's a tiny snag in my way
--> I have absolutement NO clue where to begin
I'd be grateful to you guys if you could guide me through my project and be available for answering questions/solving problems.. I'm also open to new ideas/suggestions/creative input, etc.
So......... how to get started?
Okies - I managed to make the GUI.
Download it from the attachment.
Comments welcome : )
So, now I need to get started with the actual coding.
Step 1) Extract data from the contact application
Any ideas how to get started?
