[BETA 0.5.2 - 8/3] My Android Manager - Complete phone management - G1 Apps and Games

My Android Manager 0.5.1
Exsiting users: Please upgrade by downloading http://myandroidmanager.com/app/MAM.exe
New Users: Please download full installation http://myandroidmanager.com/app/mam.msi
Public Beta Available : http://www.myandroidmanager.com/app/mam.msi
Note: There will be issues for tis build so if you want a perfectly stable application, just wait.
Follow my twitter and you might find sneak leaks =)
To those that have been following and installing:
I am still working on an update system people... Bear with me. It will most likely not come until we are out of beta
What it is:
An application meant to automate all of your phone management needs through the use of ADB. If you are are more comfortable with typing out every command and don't need a easier and quicker way to accomplish it, you dont need this app. It's basically a visual adb commander. Instructions will not come until we are on a stable build. If you have not installed the drivers for your phone correctly, this application will not work. Please search the forum for tips on getting your phone recognized. In the early stages, this program will work best if you have already configured adb and have used it. It is recommended that you move adb.exe to windows/system32 in order to execute adb from any directory. Also, be sure to run this program as administrator!! There will be bugs until version hits 1.0 In later stages the application will be integrated with xda to bring you the latest ROMS to make flashing a click of a button.
Beta Process:
The newest versions will always be released to a small test group to test the efficency before being fully released. This ensures that everyone gets a stable and working application. While it sounds like it has its advantages, I do ask that you fully test and take note of changes in your system when bugs do occur. A great beta tester tries to look for errors to make it easier on the developer when tracing the root of the problem. A great beta tester, and a develpers friend =), doesn't just say a certain feature isn't working. THose who are still interested, contact me whichever way you prefer

if you can just make a program for
- Format sd card fat32/ext2/3
i will love you!
Other than that, this sounds really cool and would be very useful! Good luck on it and hope to see it soon especialy with the daily Rom updates hahahaha

i agree

this should all be possible but most likely using the sdsplit method. I will do some testing on some spare sd cards I have

that would be cool. I guess you can make an adb bat script to download and install the sdplit.sh and then run it. That would be possible
EDIT: You should also add a nandroid backup and restore option. There is already a GUI for it but if you integrate it with your program i would use it constantly!

Id say add the linux-swap creation too. Cause it seems to be the future in how we all partition it now. Side request tho, FTP backup/restore option, I know since Im between home and work, I upload everything to my FTP. Now that would be nice to have something automate that work for me so I always have it safe and can access it anywhere.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I plan on implementing them

Added nandroid backup/restore to feature list.
ADB check/install is currently coded and working
Edit: All Done! System enviroment variables will be changed when ADB installed. Note: This will not correct the error of the driver being incorrectly installed. This happens when you dont enable debugging on your android phone and plug it up for the first time.
To fix this, you must delete some registry settings in order for adb to be recognized correctly.

This app will be made of pure win! I can't wait to see it! I know I'm new around here but I will do what I can to help this community as it has also helped me quite a bit with many different phones.
If only we could get this application completed, and a Hero ROM for the Dream, I'm pretty sure I'd drop a nut right here in this thread lol!

Thanks!
New screenshot added and FTP upload/download feature will be added to the list.

Speaking of the FTP, It might be a good idea to allow "Sync with FTP" so this way if your at work, vola it syncs with that folder kinda like a imap server. =)

Must admit, I am very impressed ^_^ Wish I could code as my previous job had positions open for it but its something that doesn't appeal to me, yet I have nothing but great admiration to those who can.
Keep up the good work ^_^

Great idea! Will work it into the project feature list.

This looks like such an awesome program! Good luck!

a suggestion, contact aTrackdog, maybe you can run ties with each other. Since they have good version monitoring, info etc this could tie in possibly. Just a thought. =)

You mean tie this in with android software updates? Def. a possibility. It would make it an all-around android windows application for the Dream..
Tomorrow I will begin android backups and ftp syncing... The hardest will be handling the formatting of SD cards. I have some code (besides sdsplit) that may allow this. I have plenty of backup sd's to test this on

Ok this just looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing. I cannot wait to test this out . Good job on this. I have a question though, how does it know when there will be a new version and how would it get the changelog?

a very tricky method and a lot of code that stratefically looks through the XDA web site for changes in the original thread. The installed program will connect to an online database upon startup that checks for updates but the process that actually does the scanning will be on my pc. The application will be replicating the database server. It knows what the old changelog was so any new text will be added to the changelog.
It's a tricky procedure but its been working VERY well in my tests. Of course this wont account for new ROMS that are added so I will have to check periodically for new ROMS. The app will still allow you to flash a ROM you download.
Hopefully once it's up and running, the dev's will get involved. I can give them an app to update the information the application is pulling in. It would be a win win for devs as they can track amount of downloads..

Dude this is going to be soo sick can't wait hopefully every dev will use it

something else that could be implemented into this is a prompt or warning advisory that goes alongside each rom. like if it's a hero rom, it prompts you to make sure you have the correct spl, radio, and whatnot installed first. and if you don't have one installed, it will install the necessary things for you prior to installing the rom so that it will help prevent a brick or something.
yeah... something like that....

Blackstone-Android V0.2
Switched to Android 1.5 Release
Audio Working (All Applications)
GPRS Working (Need Manual APN Setting)
FAQ'S (Provided by Cyclone_storm)
Please Read Faq's before posting your questions.
1. If you are booting and your SD card is not working then you will be displayed with the following text “Waiting for SD Card....”. You need to buy a new SD card or wait for a release that support your SD card.
2. When you boot Android and you need to enter a Sim code because it's locked. Then Reboot your phone go to settings, then phone and disable your your Sim lock.
3. Things that are not working are already known. No WiFi, No Bluetooth, No Power on and off button, No Power off screen button, No Camera and a few other things. These will be provided in next release.
4. All languages will come in the next release. So don't ask for a certain language. Just be patient for the next release.
5. If you want to build a New APN connection press the HOME button in APN configuration screen.
6. When APN is not working just edit the startup.txt and for example change it to live.vodafone.nl and user name and password are both vodafone. Search on you network providers site for Android phone settings, those are the same settings you can use when you create you new APN.
7. For the Dutch Vodafone users, we probably have to wait because 3G or GPRS aren't working at the moment. You can edit all you want is the startup.txt and make new APN connections all you want, but it probably won't work. If you do have the luck it works so be nice to post the exact version you are running on you SD card.
8. When you phone speaker is making strange sounds, just go to sound settings in Android and disable the: Make sound when you enable or disable a check box.
9. We know its sometimes a little bit laggy, thats why it's called an Alpha or a Beta.
10. When you want your phone to have a longer battery life just uncheck the the auto dimming box.
11. This is not a ROM so stop asking for a ROM, we are not even far enough to have these versions fully running. That means that first these Androids need to work for the full 100% before thinking of a ROM.
12. Download link is available in first post.
13. Sense UI dont support WVGA resolution. So it will not be available for blackstone.
14. If you think everything is too small for you, again edit you startup.txt and change this:lcd.density=180 into this:lcd.density=240
15. Some people can't send text messages. Wait for a release where it is possible.
16. Sometimes you can get your data connection to work. Just switch you airplane mode on and off. You should try it ones in a while when you have a new build. After it Reboot it to be sure it did or didn't work.
17. When Android doesn't work on the first boot, Delete the files that have bin made automatically such as the IMG files. After that it will probably boot if you are not having the Waiting Error. Then read my 1st option to help NOOBS sentence.
18. We know the Battery gets sucked dry in these versions, so you don't have to mention it on every 10 pages.
19. No USB is not working please wait for a release where it will work.
21. This is a Blackstone (aka HD) Version. What do you think that means. It probably means it will not work on ANY other phone.
Good news Tux! Thx bro! Will try to use!
Really looking forward to giving this a go, as I'm sure everyone here is!
Niceone mate, look forward to following the progress of this, have you got any screenshots?

Thank you to all who tested. Now start getting your phones ready for the final build.
Themers:
Check Post #2 for a package of app & framework files. A good majority of the apps are from FRF91 Vanilla Android build so if you have packages that already work with that build then most should work here. Please make sure all packages are compatible. Please use the framework-res.apk provided since it is unique to this ROM. It is much different than the OEM Drodi2 packages.
ROM Developers:
Feel free to use this as a base for your own ROM. Please just respect us and give Matt, Drod and myself the proper credit and a link back to the threads.
History:
Being bored one day and sick of Blur with all the extra services I started to rip the ROM apart. Finally getting it as clean as I can and being forced to have a bit of blur I began a search on how to get rid of it all. I ended up on the MotoDev website to see what I can find when I bumped into the D2 SDK. Shockingly it was a plain vanilla build of Android. I thought why not and tried to boot it up. Ii did ( see first video here[/URL] ) with lots of bugs. The screen res as all off and we had no radio or many other hardware functions. On top of that it ran like a turtle stuck in some molasses. I sent a message of my my buddy Matt4542 and our journey began. From there Drod and I hooked up and now we have this. It has been a long rough week getting this sucker to where it is now. It was fun, frustrating and we nearly killed each other a few times but all ended well since we have a great finished project..
We kind of built AOSP ROM by hand. Some may say it is not a true AOSP ROM but it is. There is no difference between this build and a true AOSP ROM besides any tweaks that the developer may add when creating a ROM from source. We had no choice to do it this way since Moto locked us out of the bootloader (for now and next project). Many of the apps are built from source. About 90% of the app folder is built from source. We added some packages from the DX that are a bit better and required for hardware reasons. There is NO Blur left in the ROM but for a moto-res.apk file that is required by the framework.
I want to thank Drod2169 for taking this up with me. Thanks man!!!
Drod did most of the work on the DX version after we laid out the foundation together. Glad he approached me so the DX users are able to enjoy this too!
Also, thanks to everyone else who tested the beta and RC1. Was great working with Drod! Good luck on your Rubix version!
Hope you guys with a DX enjoy this. I do not have a DX yet but would love to get one to develop this even further.
What will this ROM do?
It will give you a true Android Vanilla experience much in the same way the Original Droid (OD) did. It is not loaded with bloatware and everything functions as it should. Facebook will sync with your contacts and you will not have all of your memory being used by wasteful stuff on top of much more. Your phone will run more smoothly and feel a lot faster.
What can you do to help?
The most important thing is to provide feedback. When reporting bugs please be clear and with detailed explanation. Do not say this does not work and leave it that. The more feedback you provide will make it easier and quicker for us to kill any bugs. You may also give us a small donation to help with our continuing development of ROM and *POSSIBLY* get this bootlader cracked. It cannot be done with one device. I have a couple of friends who have experience with low level programming of chips and with their help maybe it can get done. They are Blackberry guys and not going to buy a device just for this. This is nothing more than a promise that it will be tried. I cannot say when and IF it can be done so please keep the questions to a minimum about it. If the project takes off then I will have updates. You can donate to the project by clicking HERE.

[TOOL] [Feb 9, 2011] Android Customization Suite 1.2.3

Android Customization Suite 1.2.3
This is a program to complement your ROM. It is able to produce a CWM flashable zip with apps your ROM might be missing (T-Mob ones, launchers, utilities, etc). It also has other tools available for you. It can produce an empty flashable zip for you (read more about it here). And now, it has "repositories." Developers can upkeep their own repos with whatever files they wish. Roms, themes, mods, etc.

WHILE YOU ARE DOWNLOADING MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
Unzip the folder. Please keep it intact. Moving files around in there will probably break the functionality.
Run ACS.jar.
Choose desired apps.
Wiping Dalvik cache is recommended, but it will take you about 5 minutes to boot
Copy flash.zip to your internal sd card
Flash with CWM
Linux users: if you are running Linux I advise you to use the run.sh file to run the program, otherwise it may use your home directory to store files
Mac users: you need to have java 1.6 installed for this to work. i tested this on a friend's mac (running 10.5.8 & java 1.5) and it wasn't working. also i was not able to update her java to 1.6 either. so i'm assuming you need to have snow leopard installed for this to work...

Check out this reference guide for more info on setting up a repo list. Feel free to contact me for any clarification. It's really not hard to do it, just have to understand how the app works a little. The guide should give insight and instruction. Contact me to add your repo to the list.

dude what are you waiting for? sounds like credits will poses your name alot in new devs roms! say cheese!
Sounds awesome, I know a lot of people will find that very useful. Great job so far! My only concern is will you be releasing a new version every time the apps are updated? Or do you intend to have it download the latest versions automatically once you turn it into a client and host the actual files online?

If this happens, it would be extremely easy to update to newer versions. But as the program works right now, it's pretty basic, so yes it would have to be downloaded again.
Also I'm pretty sure I lack the skill to program it to download the files. So like I said. Maybe later

No worries man, that still sounds like a great tool. I honestly wouldn't mind downloading every now and then, I was just curious. I still have to update half the applications on my computer manually, so it doesn't bother me. Thanks for your contribution, it's years beyond anything I could ever pull off, web server or no!

I'm finishing up some things and going to try flashing a test in a bit.
If I can get it to work I will post the initial release later today. Only the Utilities tab and the Mms tab will be working though.
I've gotta figure out which Apks go with what for the actual bloat
i think you forgot to post the download link.

So I'm in the process of creating a little utility that will allow you to choose alllllll the bloat you'll ever want.
It will generate a .zip file that you will flash through CWM.
Couple things I'd like to mention:
It's written in Java, so eventually I will get it working properly on Linux and OS X as well.
The file size of this utility will be a little large as I will have to include every single program with it
I will eventually try and get them to download off the internet to make the utility itself pretty damn tiny, no promises though
I had originally planned to make this an online-kitchen type tool. I don't know nearly enough PHP so I just ended up doing this
This thing is Alpha
I'll probably end up releasing the alpha over at Heathen's site before I put up a beta over here
I'd like to hear your thoughts/suggestions/comments.

Honestly, that wasn't my main intention. I thought it was a good idea for people to add apps they wanted in one swift flash. I'm always looking to have Titanium and maybe a couple other apps.
This just makes it easier and provides most of the apps people want in one place.
But I've read it over and over how (some) people want Avatar, Wifi calling, or AOSP mms, and I've even seen a request at one point for the memo app.
Right now, this is what works:

Gotcha. It is a good idea. It just threw me because of the generally negative connotation of the word "bloat"...

As far as updating goes.... It's not difficult here's an example for you...
http://www.javajazzup.com/issue3/page65.shtml
All you would need would be a host to hold all your files which a simple DropBox account can solve.
As far as the updater goes. What you can do is make a Wrapper that checks for a new file on a server (your new dropbox) if its the same size (in bytes) then continue to load your main .jar, else you tell it to download to the location which should overwrite it or you can delete it prior to the download.
I hope this helps in your java application. Great work and continue the dev
P.S. Feel free to PM for any questions you might have on Java.

Yeah I didn't really doubt I could find it online, just didn't wanna jump in too far right away.
I was actually thinking of hosting like a master file which would contain locations and versions of the files that the client would be able to download and interpret. That's just something that crossed my mind though. I'm going to get this thing working fully offline before I go into anything else.
As far as the web hosting goes, I have some, it says it's "unlimited" but I have a feeling XDA will test that limit if the time comes.
Thanks for offering to help! I may take you up on it.
If anyone knows this, I'd greatly appreciate the help. I need to know which APKs are associated with the following apps (mainly if there's another APK besides the main one):
AllShare
Amazon
Avatar
GoGo
Layar
Kindle
MediaHub
Memo
Mini Diary
Write and Go
Audio Post Card

This ROM is now significantly more stable and usable than it was before. It is now suitable to be flashed by anyone that want's to check out basically a stock AOSP build of Android 4.0.4 with a few CM tweaks included. There will still be bugs, just report them to me so I can fix it
If anyone wants some screenshots, they are attached to this post.
This CM9 ROM is more of a stock AOSP build than a CM9 build. There aren't many tweaks available in the system section of settings yet, however as a consequence the ROM feels very smooth and responsive. As far as I can tell with my own testing, only the camera isn't working properly and the GApps don't seem to play very nice with this ROM for some reason. They install fine and you have access to the Play store etc, but Google Maps and other apps aren't installed it seems. Easy fix just go to the play store and download what you need.
Changelog
Code:
V1.0 Aug14/12
-USB/SD Card mounting now works
-Removed GApps (Available as seperate package)
-Wifi/USB tethering works
-Updated Trebuchet
-Added No-Frills CPU Control (I like it better than performance settings, can set it up so that OC values won't be applied if system unexpectedly shuts down)
-More stable
V0.5Beta Aug08/12
-Initial Release
-Apex launcher, ES File explorer, LordModUV, Auto-Rotate Switch, Titanium Backup apk's added to ROM
-Jellybean boot animation
-Smooth, fluid usage.
-Overclocking works without problems.
-Theme Manager works
-Wifi,3G,HSPA, etc all work.
Bugs
Code:
-Camera doesn't work
-Android Terminal Emulator crashes; Fix - Update app in Play Store. (My bad forgot to fix that, next release will be fixed)
-Gallery app doesn't work. Fix - Use Quickpic or other 3rd party gallery apps.
-Titanium Backup doesn't work. Fix - Use Rom Toolbox pro to restore your apps.
-Backing up apps doesn't work, can only restore apps.
-You tell me!
As I said, this is still a major work-in-progress and will have updates coming. I don't have internet at home right now, I'm only 18 and just moved out on my own a month ago and can't yet afford internet. Uploading my ROMs will happen at my parent's house whenever possible, so updates will sometimes be delayed.
My intentions with this ROM are to eventually build out more features in the "System" tweaks section as I learn how to implement them. I want to eventually make this a much more feature-fillled ROM. Right now, however my immediate attention is on fixing whatever bugs pop up in this ROM. For the most part, its very smooth and I have encountered very few hiccups/lag. Feature implementations will come slow however, as I don't yet know how to do it. I'll be learning so don't worry, it'll come eventually!

My pleasure! This ROM is the culmination of 4-5 weeks of studying any android guide I could find, decompiling many ROMs and apks, and countless nights left staring at the white HTC screen when my ROM fails to boot.
Although this ROM is also proof that anyone with no background experience in programming/software development can get involved in Android dev work! It takes a lot of time and dedication, but it's worth it in the end when you finally have something you can call your own. (Granted I used a CM9 base from Kaijura, but that's because I'm using a laptop and there's only 10GB left on the HDD. Not a chance in hell I can install Ubuntu and compile from source until I build a new computer in the coming months)

Obviously, as you can see above XDA is the best resource available for anything android! Those are only the guides and places I have bookmarked I read a lot more guides than that, I just didn't save them for future reference. Download a bunch of ROMs for your device and take a look inside each ROM. Get familiar with the file structure and learn where all the important files are and what they do. Learn how to tweak your build.prop, write proper functioning updater scripts, decompile tweaks and look at the source code to see how it was accomplised. Those are my favorite ways of learning. Also youtube has some decent instructional videos on how to compile Android from source.
I'm getting extremely frustrated with this ROM. Everytime I try to fix the bugs and change any libs or files in the bin folder, the ROM hangs on the white screen. I'm not doing anything stupid with the files, just trying to use ICS8.2 libs to see if it fixes certain problems. Can you simply drag and drop libs and other files like that from other ROMs and than just recompile? Or is it more complicated than that? How can I view the source code of a lib? or a file in the /system/bin folder? Currently neither of those files are viewable inside Windows 7 with notepad++ or anything I have installed on my computer. Also when I look in ICS8.2 I see that ROM has quite a few init.d scripts compared to my ROM. How can I incorporate more init.d scripts? What files have to be changed to get them to work properly? I know if you look inside the init.d script you can see what file it needs but for example-
Code:
if busybox [ ! -f /system/etc/liberty.cfg ]; then
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
cat > /system/etc/liberty.cfg << EOF
There is no liberty.cfg file in the ROM at all. None. Not even in ICS8.2. Does that bit of code mean the system is going to create a file called liberty.cfg at /system/etc? Or does it mean the script searches for a file called liberty.cfg in /system/etc? I'm currently trying to fix the camera as well, and which files for our HTC Vivo control the camera? I know there are a few libs and a file or two related to the camera spread through out various folders in the ROM, but I wouldn't mind a direct confirmation from a more experienced dev or someone who has experience with this kind of issue on our phone.
Also I found the vold.fstab file was for the HTC Passion not the Vivo. I'm hoping changing Passion to Vivo will cause the SD card to mount properly. In the /system/lib/hw folder there is a file called camera.goldfish.so in the CM9 base from Kaijura, but in ICS8.2 there are 2, camera.goldfish.so and camera.msm.7X30. There's also a file in there called copybit.msm.7X30 what is that file used for? Is it related to the camera as well?
As you can tell, I'm using ICS8.2 as a kind of goal/inspiration. I look at the features and stability in that ROM and that's what I want mine to be like eventually. It's also pretty much the only up-to-date build of AOSP ICS for our phone, which is why I tend to lean on that ROM for libs and files. I prefer to make the changes to the code myself instead of simply copy-pasting everything, so I usually have the file I want edited open alongside the same file from a different ROM so I can see the code for both files and learn from it by typing out the changes myself.
Edit:If I compile the latest trebuchet.apk from github, will it be compatible with our device right away or will I need to make changes to the app to get it to work properly for our phone?
Thanks for anyone who can take the time to help me, it will be greatly appreciated!
Anyone? I'm seriously stumped right now. There's gotta be someone, a dev or something that knows the answer to my questions. Please guys?

I'm not a dev but since trebuchet seems just like a launcher to me, I guess it should work with the newest .apk But I'm not sure, just assuming...

this is awesome dude great work! once you fix camera ill be sure to switch over and check it out. i just need my camera

anyway good job and thanks
The Camera is my highest priority right now, I will be concentrating all my efforts on figuring that out next. CM10 would be nice, but I'm not nearly experienced enough to successfully port Jellybean to our phone unfortunately. As soon as we have a JB port available, or if I eventually figure out the problems that come from porting JB then I for sure will release that as well! Just don't get your hopes up, I'm still very new to this.
Does mms have the wap2 setting like sense roms? Or is this missing as like all AOKP roms?

A few things about this rom, firstly this is a port from a Samsung device, thus it features control panel options not normally found in some CM roms, you MAY need to go to the app store if this has no on-screen navigation buttons.
I have added MIUI apps not normally found to round it off as a MIUI clone, I think this is something you folks will like a lot since your CM10 base is so functional to begin with. : D
To get themes, go to themes in settings like you normally would, It's been replaced with a fully working clone of the MIUI theme manager which can apply themes, and can browse themes online.
you XT925 folks are going to have to inform me of the working status of this in order for progress to happen, if any is needed.
So are the same things that are wrong with CM 10 affecting this ROM too? (i.e. Bluetooth music)?
Have any rogers users tried it yet? does LTE work?

The same for me. Boot loop every time. I even formatted /system. Erased /data and /cache. Nothing works.
It seems to work, as you can see the start up welcome screen, but before you have a chance to click on the "next" button, the system reboots.
It's an issue with the base, I will upload a working one either tonite or tomorrow.
Ok, for the next revision of this I will need a dedicated tester to confirm the working order before I put a release up, please PM me with some kind of real-time contact info

I can confirm it. I cannot restore my backups because the system cant find an SD. I can write to the internal and external SDs using the built in file manager, but for some strange reason, I cannot write to them using ROM Toolbox, nor any other program. also, for the same reason, I cannot download the Gapps file listed on the update part of the settings.
Thank you for your hard work.

Don't mess around with any OTA updates or it could mess up your phone; anyway I'm not sure exactly why this is happening, I am going to send a PM to another porter of this rom who is used to Moto Devices and see what they have to say!

Thanks for Rom!
Usb works for camera mode (used IP Webcam to stream), but does crash for media, get android.process.media stopped...
Good job man

Hello Tquetski. Any progress on this ROM? I guess you are really busy now, but I got so frustrated because you ae so close on this one.
I hope you have the time to continue working on this and future ROMs. Your continue support on porting for this phone is really appreciated.
Appreciate it as well. Also same USB problem as previous post about it. Same crash with media but when plugging in the cable or trying to use the gapps I used. Installed twice. First time the crash wouldn't allow adb, second time was with gapps from 20121130 and still crash on cable but adb works. Play store crashes with same media related file but youtube works. Perhaps youtube was already part of the rom....
Am uninstalling for now but can come back to it to test (Not a lot of time of the day for it though, but as much as I can) if you need it.
Also, don't know if it matters but I noticed that symlinks in the ROM don't work as expected, for example sdcard and /mnt/sdcard just return sdcard and /mnt/sdcard when typing ls. putting a trailing slash works, for example /sdcard/
I've noticed some apps rely on /mnt when they look for things.
update from above. Installed gapps from cm site and that went better and the store works. Titanium backups were on external drive and restored fine, as you'de expect. Titanium backup states, upon launch, Media Storage: not mounted but also then displays the correct amount of available storage for it.
So for example it says:
-----------------------------------
Root Acces: ok
Hypershell: yes
...
Media Storage: Not mounted
Backup Directory: /storage/sdcard1/Titanium
Then at the bottom
System Rom: 1.53 gb (1.09 GB Free)
Internal: *looks like the correct amount*
Media: *looks like the correct amount*
Ext. Sd Card: *looks like the correct amount*
-------------------------------------
Internal and Media in the above part are slightly differant than what df at the terminal says but not by much so it seems that Titanium certainly sees the space there in the second part but doesn't see it as the space its supposed to use.
I hope you can fix it. Thanks for getting this far.
One last edit; stock rom behaves the same way with symlinks.
File permissions of mounted internal sd card look the same, from memory, so its not something so simple overlooked at that level.
Happy to have been of no help
