WIFI Cracking App - myTouch 3G, Magic Apps and Games

Has anyone heard of a WIFI hacking/Cracking Application?
Something like http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php that works on the android phone.
Birnie

You really don't need this.

Do you espect your 528MHz to listen+decrypt WEP/WPA wireless?

From my reading i dont think speed is an issue at all, as the program captures, then decrypts.

bernie is right, there is no reason to decrypt on the fly.
So there should be no problem, even with a phone that is not normaclocked.
The only problem you have when you do not decrypt on the fly, is you do not know how many packages you need, so you would end up with a full sdcard with dump data.

Yes this would be an awesome addition to the android.
Hopefully some smart coder will read this and take up the challenge.

Sure , easily . Speed has nothing to do with this. It is a waist of resources to do it on the fly , however I will remind you of one of the more popular methods , WRT54G and kismet Drone (on board the device). The wrt54gl (best of the best *cough cough* still clocks in at 200 mhz). heck a Cisco ASA5505 clocks in at 604 mhz manilla (thats before any kind of load you place on the device / flashing.... it is alot more "stable at 552 mhz" .

this would be hard as your would have to be able to set the wireless chip in monitor mode(im not sure if you even can). Also just the development for smart phones it less standard(ram and raw cpu power rang from super high end to to the new low end models comming out)

men i have decrypted wep within minutes with an 8-year-old zaurus pda. So guess this htc has enough to play with it

QUALCOMM(R) 7201 chip on my Tilt.

I just received a warranty replacement for my ATT Tilt (reception problem, it would drop signal and not pick it up again, not in a 3g area). I checked the device info to see if they had preloaded the updated rom--they did--and in the hardware section they listed the chip as a 7201, not a 7200 like my old one.
So, what is the difference between the 7200 and the 7201? I did a seach and couldn't really find anything.
Thanks.
o wow this may be very important actually.

I must admit, sheepishly, that I haven't done anything with it yet. I don't have time to string out the restore process, and I don't want to just restore from a backup, so I'm collecting all the cabs I need, at the moment. I should have it up completely tomorrow night.
Is there any file or anything I should be looking for?

OK,
I ran VSBenchmark--sound off--and got the following:
graphics: 1254
Others: 2178
JPEG: 2612
games: 1540
Sound: 0592
final score: 1635
so according to this, it's not any faster.
ugh..who knows.. maybe its nothing lol.
but i thought i remember hearing that the P6500 had this chip or something?
I just got my tilt last week and it also has the 7201 not any faster than other tilts though

For some reason this reply really makes me laugh inside. What your seeing is (my guess) the oem chip number finally being shown. This is the chip with the video gpu turned off. Why does everyone think it's going to be something better?

/cry... Seriously, I've given up hoping for awesome video performance from my Tilt. I'm running Dutty's latest release and it is plenty fast enough for me. I barely use my phone for talking, let alone video playback. We'll just have to wait for the Xperia to come out.

I was afraid of that. So, same chip, but new number to reflect what we <i>really</i> have.
In my not so humble opinion, I would say that maybe Qualcomm caught enough heat from people like us that they started requiring new phone to go out with the 7201 name instead of the 7200. Now they will have something to fall back on. Also the way that HTC has worded some of their replies to us just gives me the impression that this chip has been modded for them. Which is normal.

hey i was thinking that too, either improvement, or a big nail thru the processor disabling any possible drivers.
QUALCOMM(R) 7201 vs 7200 chip
I just got my new Tilt from at&t today for a warranty swap. I checked it out hoping there would be a new ROM release on it. There wasn't. I checked the Device Info and to my surprise it was a different chip. Normally it's the 7200. This one has the 7201. I am wondering if this is common where some Kaisers come with the 7201 or if it's a new release. I searched Google and was unable to find any info. Here are some pictures.
I'm unsure that it's anything but I have noticed that my new tilt runs much faster and smoother. There could be a few different reasons but my old one never seemed to run this fast.
I am using the at&t wm6.1 test rom on both.
Here is mine. Thats odd. I haven't seen that. Maybe someone can clarify.

hmm my tytnII is 7200 as well...maybe tilts have 7201?
my tilt is 7200
I just got my warranty replacement today and it too has the 7201 chip. I couldn't find this thread so I started my own.
Mine seems faster and smoother. Significantly. It's possible it's because of something I did to my old Tilt but I really don't think I did anything but it's possible. I'm benchmarking in coreplayer and I'll try spb benchmark, but it's not likely i'll find anything.....

When I say significantly, I don't mean like it has the drivers. It just feels much faster.

My bad. I didnt realize that was what that thread was about. I haven't even looked in it until you linked it. My apologies.
My coreplayer test were inconclusive. My new tilt came out ahead but by very little after a few runs. Every time it was more but not by much.

How do I overclock t-wing beyond 247?

Hi everyone!
I have a t-mobile wing and overclocked it to 247mhz with battery status. I have read in some posts that some people have it overclocked up to 274 or beyond, but everytime I try to overclock beyond 247 it just freezzes. Any trick on how to raise the speed?
r u using a stock t-mobile rom?

na man just go look up some roms on this site n ull find alot of good rom n tmobile rom sucks n roms on this site is like 50 times better than those
Overclocking past 247
Same problem here; sometimes 247 gets the problem; but ..
Basically when it bursts up past that; the display gets verticle lines and ends up all messed up; it will straighten itself out when the burst kicks it back down a nothc; if i set it to a higher rate (not a burst) then I can still change it back (granted i can't see the screen i can only hit the right keys) so the phones not freezing the display is just not handling the cpu spike;
I've tried it on many many different roms; I don't think that's the problem..
Not all CPU's can handle the extra speed. Just like desktop CPU's.

HTC Hero/Dream/Mgic ROM on X1

Sorry, maybe a stupid question.
Is it not possible to flash one of the HTC ROM's onto X1?
Nope, it will not work.
I figured that much, but can someone on here maybe explain? From what I could see it has the same processor as X1 etc.

I know people are trying to get android onto X1 and hence my question. Why is it not possible to just use the android rom (with some mods) from the HTC phones as most of the hardware seems similar?

it's basicly misc Hardware stuff.
CPU might be the same same jeah, but evyerthing else is not. neither the chipsets for the keyboard are, nor is the chipset for making phonecalls, nor the memory and so on.
it's liek trying to fit a Mazda Elektronics into a ford ka. maybe u can squeeze it in but im sure it wont work since the electronic doesnt know any part of the new car.

electronic doesn't need to know the car. because in computer systems, there exist another layer between the electronic and the car.
it's called the kernel. hardware abstraction layer.
it'll work... just need someone free enough to make it work.
no further explanations please! lets pretend it is magic

ps: jeah i know .. im king of typos and abstract examples ^^
Is there anybody working on this right now?
Would love a Hero/etc android ROM on my X1, definitely. Just got a Hero and I'm loving it to bits.

Simple fix - dont accept anything from anyone you do not know and or trust but i assume it must unless sony changed the BT stuff
not sure about the rest of you but when I'm not using bluetooth I turn it off as it's a batt eater
and when it's off there is no vulnerability
besides that hacking convention non of them broke any of the smartphones
because they're very secure ?
no it's still a small base compared to users with ie6 which is still
the main virus and exploit basics

Touch Pro Overclocked - Overclocking the X1 - is it finally possible?

Anyone managed to find this software and give it a go?
The Touch Pro has finally been overclocked.......
Anyone care to try this on their X1?
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/09/06/Touch-Pro-running-at-800MHZ.aspx
does not work, forces the device to auto restart.
However, the creator is working hard to get one that works
Even if a X1 version is released, the only thing you might achieve is to fry your cpu and destroy the device years earlier than its expected lifetime.
How about Temp and Battery life, is it worthed ?

I was using a custom rom, the energy rom, standard version. I haven't tried installing it with a different rom.

As the same arguement for Pc overclocking, the lifespan of a cpu is many years beyond what you are likely to use it. I.e the phone could last for less than 5years for all I care, 2years in fact as Ill upgrade to xperia 2 so I might has well "fry" it and gain a faster smooth and more enjoyable experience in return for a shorter lifespan.

I prefer to keep my tech working even after I stop using it. After all, you never know when you might need a backup device. Different points of view about this, I guess.
I agree with orelsi..I'd like my device to be in good condition even though I won't be using it anymore...you never know, you might come up short on dough with your plans of buying the x2 or x3 and selling ur x1 might give some additional cash for u to finally buy that device...of course if it's fried, no one will buy it or u'll only be able to sell it dirt cheap, for parts or whatever

somebody thought about downclocking the cpu? maybee some MHZ less could double the akku duration??!! =)
this would be mutch more interesting fo me instead overclocking this littel cpu xD

You would make the phone useless, for anything else than calling. I would prefer multitasking and good performance over battery any day.
waw it worked for me...
i install the tool and my phone way connected to pc with activesync and it ran at 800 mhz ,i was like (damn thats how the phone should run, smooth scroling in main menu ,benchmarked with sktools and got waw results ).
BUT when i took usb out of pc my x1 froze and i had to softreset.
and i couldnt run it again in my x1(now when i run it,it freeze or restart)
what a shame ,i hope the tool get stable so i can run x1 at 800.
