Well I answered it! Haha I might be able to help you out here too.
I recently encountered a problem with Super User not connecting to anything, and what I did was just re-flash the ROM right on top of what was already running. It won't wipe anything, besides a theme, and it also works by re-installing the stock apps. Data is never lost, but sometimes it resolves problems within apps.
What it sounds like is that your IM app isn't connecting to data services. Try all EDGE/3G/WiFi connections. If that's a no go, re-install the app with a re-flash of the ROM. If that STILL doesn't work, wipe and re-flash.
Let me know how that goes :]

Alright, cool. Personally, I would give up on the Stock app and switch to one of the other countless IM apps on the market, because they're constantly updated and quite frequently have more features to offer, but that's just my opinion :].

i like buddymob so far. only really have had it for a few days now since i became more concerned with my default IM app problem. ebuddy looked good but didnt provide a seamless way to use it as a im app that was constantly on and connected via the phone. like no taskbar icon or nothin

You won't be able to get it from the market, but you can unzip any build with it in it and drop the app on your SD card and install with an App manager program.
That's odd, you might want to try re-installing the app then :].

Open Overclocker (WTF >_>)

I find it strange that this App seems to try to open itself upon startup.....even after I have wiped twice switching ROMs. How is it even on there?

Probably stores information somewhere else on the phone than normal. adb shell your phone and look for it manually

Hmm odd.. I wrote that app and I made an activity that starts on startup the normal way... not sure why it would still be there after a wipe... *shrug*
I had a similar issue with another app. No matter how many times I wiped, there it was. I think the Market got "wonky" and was downloading it each time I started up for the first time after a wipe. Almost seemed the market website didn't get notified of the successful download/install and was trying to "finish" the download upon signing back on.
whats the problem? uninstall it if you don't like it. personally, I think its a great application and I use it daily.
What should you keep your settings on with this app, both high and low. Also after applying the numbers do you need to reboot?

Seems like a silly question, but do you use apps on SD card.
One of my favorite features of doing that is that I dont actually have to reinstall after wiping, just redo the simlink

That depends on personal preference. I keep mine at 528/528 'cause I like me some speed
EDIT: forgot the second half of your post, you don't need to reboot after applying.
ive never been able to get open over clocker to do ANYTHING, i put values in the box hit apply and nothing happens... reboot... cpu at same speed.... its like the button just does nothing, tried the standalone app and dudecake.9 with it integrated. it hasnt ever caused me any problems and removing it worked fine for me, it just never did much of anything at all for me
are you using the dude's build? he included the app in his builds until this last build

Can't download from Market - stuck on "starting to download"

This has been going on for 3 days now, and I haven't been able to find any topic on this so far.
For the last 3 days, I cant' get any market updates, or new market apps. It just says "starting download", but won't actually download. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Market App (Vending), did a wipe, nothing seems to fix this issue. I even installed a new ROM fresh.
Has anyone come across this issue? Solutions? Am I the only one?
Using Cyanmod - 4.2.12.2
Haykuro DangerSPL (Rogers)
One more Note - Noticed a comment here in the Q&A about Metamorph causing "market issues", but they don't actually describe what the issue is. I did recently install it, changed my power control widget, that was it.
Thanks for your help!
Try this;
Connect to wifi,
Cancel all downloads,
Restart all downloads over wifi.

Thanks lbcoder, had a feeling it would be you replying to my inquiry. Anyways, I had also tried that method, still nothing. Actually found the link below, people having this issue. To add to your steps they suggest to login to Google Talk. Well, that seems to be an issue as well, i can't login.

The only unusual thing in my logcat seems to be calling for low memory: No more background processes. This is a little odd, never had mem. issue's before, looking at my phone's memory usage in terminal, should be ok.
I had this issue due to my wireless router. Disconnected from the wifi and it all started working. The strange thing was browsing was working and google talk but it just would not download from the market.
Issue Update - in case others are having this issue - Back in Business
Well, I figured I ran out of options, that is options that didn't require a complete format and wipe of the phone.
I had to follow all the original steps, for installing the newest cyanogen ROM, using the HTC Dev Phone. So, after installing the HTC_DevPhonezip file from their website, applied it, applied Cyan's latest ROM, reboot...Bammm, the market is back, and downloading. Actually it ended up installing all my updates automatically. Guess it was registered through my google account, because I hadn't even installed the apps back to my ext partition yet, after installing new ROMs

Wanted to say thanks for the pointer to starting Google Talk to get my market downloads to work...as soon as I logged into Talk, my downloads started. I had re-flashed, re-formatted and basically tried everything until this simple suggestion fixed the problem. Kind of strange...but thank you!

Wow! Thanks for posting this, man. I was racking my brain... as this was the 2nd time I ran into this issue on my phone! Didn't want to wipe/reload once again.
Anyhow, I was using 'Autostarts' to pare down some of the crap that auto-starts with a standard Android build. Since I don't use GoogleTalk, I naturally killed that sucker. I guess I should've thought that it'd be tied to the Marketplace, right? Google Talk + Marketplace = logical That said, re-enabling Google Talk and restarting resolved my issue.
Thanks again!

Wireless tether works fine if u download it from the market.

Quick question regarding the facebook sync. By reading your summary of the facebook, i wonder if i have a different issue. When i go to accounts and sync, when i click add then facebook. It just goes back to accounts page. Does not even let me enter facebook information. However i am able to use the facebook app.
Is this the bug your referring to, or am i experiencing something different?

Ok, thanks for clarifying. In your summary might want to put something regarding "Unable to add to accounts & sync" , just for others that might be curious.
Wireless tethering worked for me, i just installed the one provided in the 10minute root video again after CM6 was installed. Then tested it and it worked fine. I also have Hydra Rom for stock speed undervoted with wireless N. Noticed when i did tethering it only connected to my laptop in G mode, however i am able to connect to my router in strictly wireless N broadcast.
Had this problem last night which forced me to revert back to stock firmware.
I plugged in my phone to charge at 11 PM. Then at 12.30 ish AM, i heard my phone vibrating. I looked and it rebooted. So i let it be, then few minutes later I heard it again. Then I decided to revert back to Stock.
Thinking that it was maybe caused when charging the battery. That the batt got 100% then rebooted? Not quite sure.
I can test again if needed.
Good idea.
Thanks!
You are most welcome!
Thank You very much
what time is the nightly build and what time standard/zone?
i would love to try this but cant without bluetooth and am hoping it makes it into the next build. in my state they are cracking down on using your cell phone without a handsfree and giving big tickets to make up for budget shortfalls. so i need bluetooth. (i am too deaf for speakerphone, especially on the incredible, its not that loud)
i am excited, especially now i am 90% sure i am keeping the DINC now that the DX is officially going to be a ***** to root and no roms looks likely. and i dont know why blogs that pimp the phone keep saying "root is still inevitable" but i dont agree with that, if you cant get into the boot loader we would have never rooted the incredible and it only makes sense motorola has locked down the backflip root methods and made sure rooting will also be hard.
i just really want a bigger screen and a fast gpu, other than that, the DINC is the best.

and nice, based on your answer on the first post, we have a new build as of a couple hours ago, anyone running it yet? anyone have a revised bug list? should we discuss that here or in the other thread?
It would appear that the incredible has been removed from the buildbot cycle as of the latest build. A version was built today (check the dates) but looking here: http://buildbot.teamdouche.net/tgrid it's no longer listed
I hit check for update on the rom in Rom Manager, but it didnt say there was new rom. The last one under nightly builds in rom manager still has same time stamp as one i got last night.

if you clear download cache and redownload it should be newer, someone posted the repo and it clearly showed a date and time of today even though the file name still said 7-8 or 7-9 on it the time and date were 7-10 unless it was mirrored then or osmething.

The filename doesn't change. Just clear the download cache in ROM manager and then choose download ROM, reinstall as usual. I guarantee its a different file. Updating OP with what my current build version shows.
Sometimes download of apps in market just stalls.
Some apps fail to install. (android-vnc)
Sometimes screen doesn't register touches until rotated.

Deleted the CM6 zip file from the sd card, then redownloaded the nightly build. Installed and noticed the rom version now has 7/11 as the date instead of the zip files number. So thats good. I see you crossed out the green light while charging bug. Thats only difference i have noticed thats been fixed.
I really hope they are concentrating on Facebook, Camera, GPS bug the most. Thats the biggest deal breaker for most i know.

SPECULATION on my part but from what I read looks like that is what it is.
I've checked my services periodically to see if this would ever popup for me, but it never did. :/
I'd say try uninstalling the updated market and wiping the cache/data for it via the applications menu under settings - same menu you went to to take that snap shot.
Well what's the disadvantage? Do you actually notice slowdown, battery draining, etc due to it? If not, why bother about it?

Installed [ROM] Rock Steady CM7, worked great... Until I rebooted

I installed it, it did great, I restored everything from Titanium, rebooted, and now it will never stop booting. Just doing the HTC with the green indicator "with HTC Sense" on the bottom, and it's doing it for 30 minutes. I brought it into recovery and wiped the cache, and the Dalvik, still the same. I cant get it to a home screen to try laying another rom over it. Any ideas?

All I know of is aosp's asopcmmod or cm nightly. There was probably something in titanium backup that messed it up, you can restore most of your downloaded apps, just keep away from restoring any system apps or associated data.
Ah, I did do that. That makes sense to leave the system data behind. Thanks Again!

ntsense is what kifno originaly copied anyway, and it was much better before he screwed everything up.
I'm told the "tweak" wasn't included in this rom. However, I'm frowning upon this thread because it is promoting a rom that is no longer supported and a rom that is one of the biggest KANGS ever!
People, stop using Rocksteady!
Ok, I installed the last stable Cyanogen 7.0.3. It works fine, but its force closing messages. I checked the cache, and its clean. Now it will bring up the list of all contacts in the msg screen, but once I choose a contact, it force closes trying to open the msg log for that contact.

Correction, Handcent DID allow me to view messages, but a few minutes after I sent a msg, I got a notice that it never sent. Hmm.
Would the fact that this distribution is for a Sprint phone, but mine is an Ntelos? As far as i know Ntelos is pretty much a clone of Sprint, and is a parent company in a few ways over Ntelos.
