SPV M1500 / Alpine Memory Card Compatibility

Hi,
Can anyone here tell me the fastest 2GB / 4GB MiniSD cards please?
(BTW - Not sure if 4GB exists in MiniSD format yet)
Also - a fairly dumb question - I think the answer is "No - of course it dosn't" but I'll ask anyway!
Does using a MiniSD adapter have an effect of read / write speed? As it's just an electrical connection I would assume it dosn't...
Cheers
Lee
Mini SD are slower than full size SD cards. Unless you are after a compatibilty thing with mobile phones, MMC+ cards would be a better bet for the Alpine as they seem more stable than SD cards.
Tecic do a 120x Mini SD 2gb - Google it.
Some alien language but here's a link - http://www.mml.com.tw/topicdetail.php?f=243&t=59595

Hi - thanks for the reply.
I thought of Mini-SD becuase some phones (C500 / C600) have Mini-SD slots...
I currently have a M1500 - full SD slot but would like to keep mini-SDs as you can put them in either device...
I'll have a look at the link now!

please help How big memory card xda2 suported and which types of card

How big storage card xda2 suported and which types of card it will support under wm6 , do big memorycard slow ur xda2 .thanks
If you have SDHC Card, you can help us to try driver in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351811
And then you can feel it
So far I haven't been able to get my 4 GB SD to work on my Hima...... any suggestions are welcome . It's an Emtec btw and it doesn't hold the HC logo, but I also can't use it in my camera so I think it's HC.
2 GB is currently the max I can use.
About the speed: the hardware is basically the bottleneck. I have several speeds up to 150, but there is no (noticable) difference between them in my Hima.
i bought kingsten 2gb sd card and its working perfectly
i bought kingsten 2gb sd card and its working perfectly, the dealer said to me larger then 2gb is not supported by xda2. sorry for my english, thanx all here
Up to 2GB SD card is supported, any SDHC card can and probably will cause problems, either till someone adapts the SDHC driver or till we give up hope.
But IF you're able to use SDHC on Hima, (without messing up any other feature) please tell us how you did it.

upgrades...

is there any way to upgrade the 02 xda2 to have wifi built in like xda2i?
no, that is a hardware issue.. so forget it!!
one can always use a sdio wifi card
with wm2003 the sdio wifi cards with sd mem on them dident work
havent gotten confirmation if this is the case with wm5-6 though
wifi
would a spectec sd wifi card do? im running wm6. would that work? i just dont want to have something shipped over and then find out it doesnt work.
is there any hardware mods to fit the wifi into the xda2?
if there was room which i dont believe there is then the only connection the mod could connect to would be the sd interface rendering the slot useless
about the card

Christian.. I run the spectec sd wifi card... works quite well, the only prob is it seems to drop out after 10 minutes or so if i leave it go... it seems to be intermitant but it has allowed me to skype my way round the world so it's still pretty good... just sucks to not be able to have the sd card at the same time...
wuh000...
thanks for the infos guys...wuhooo. i got a brand new spectec for around $50 aud / Php 2000. now that's what i call cheap!!

It is quite simple:
No SD Wlan card ----- No WIFI.
That´s it.
Look at this:
i am installing now PDAVIET's rom does this 1 have wifi without sd card?
erm, Wifi is a Hardware, not a software issue, Get a Wifi Card (SDIO) and then you can use it, no matter what ROM You try, unlesss you have the Wifi card, you CANNOT RUN WIFI
wifi sd card thingy
i had one for wm 2003 how can i make this one capable?
himalya don't have wifi the hardware is not there
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HimalayaHardwareOverview
so if you had a win2003 rom which gave you wifi
you prob don't have a himalya device

Wifi a possibility in vogue

I did purchase the spectec micro sd wifi card in my vogue- it installs properly but for some reason the wifi network doesnt show up. Contacted spectec and they said that vogue doesnt have sdio driver installed. I finally gave up on that- but just realised that there is another possibility- I purchased a mini sd card slot from ebay and when you dissasemble the vogue you should see a empty slot next to micro sd slot and the mini sd slot fits perfectly- the micro sd wifi cards arent so stable yet but mini sd wifi cards are fine- may be you can get wifi on vogue by soldering a mini sd wifi card onto the board
Were you using a stock ROM or...?
I used both stock rom and custom NFSAN rom- didnt work for both
So did you try the mini card yet? I've noticed that slot but I wasn't brave enough to try...
Also, for the microsd, have you tried any of the new Android builds that support wifi?
the slot is not a mini sd card- it is a sim card slot
oh wow, im surprised either way lol
is there any way to get an sdio driver properly installed? or would that require stuff from HTC?
Please keep me up to date on how this project is going. I SO want the wifi capability on my HTC Touch!
