Is there a decent upcoming appointments widget ANYWHERE??! - myTouch 3G, Magic Apps and Games

And please don't suggest the built in calendar widget, or Quick Calendar - they're both complete gash. The built in calendar widget takes up a quarter of the home screen and tells you one, count it, one upcoming appointment. Quick Calendar is, quite frankly, the ugliest thing I've ever seen since Peter Beardsley went out on a date with Iain Dowie and had an illicit lovechild.
What I would like is a widget that came in either 4x1 or 4x2 flavours, and that gave me the next 2 or 4 appointments in my calendar, and that looked at least slightly pleasing to the eye. I don't believe I'm the only one out there interested in such a widget, hence why I simply cannot believe some enterprising developer hasn't made one. And I can't believe it'd be that big a programming task to put together. Therefore I conclude one must exist somewhere and I am being incredibly dim in not being able to track it down.
So guys, where's this widget? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Haven't been able to find one either - however..
I use quick calendar, but only in the taskbar! it works pretty well like that

I purchased Touchdown and am extremely happy with it. I definitely wouldn't buy it if I didn't want exchange...
...but if you are using Exchange, I would seriously recommend it. It shows up to 4 separate appointments at once on half the screen and leaves space for two icons on the side as well.

One of my mail accounts IS Exchange, but I could never get Touchdown working as well for email as the HTC Exchange client. Plus my calendar is in my Google account not my Exchange account. Does Touchdown's calendar widget let you pull data from Google-land?

Koxx Weather Widget - now shows the upcoming appointments with the weather!

Good spot, n1ck! I'll buy that for 80-odd pence. Have actually used the free version of that widget before, but got rid of it because no matter what the weather was going to be over the coming days, it always displayed rainclouds. Maybe that was a Frenchman's satirical comment on the weather in London, I don't know

Another one you can use is Aniwidget. One of the widgets included shows upcoming appointments.

AT LONG LAST!!
Thanks for the headsup, nick.

Thanks for the help guys, I too was looking for a decent calendar widget, I shall be trying out these two today.

koxx has made a seperate agenda widget from his weather/cal widget. it's really good, its 4x2 rite now, and he planns to do 4x3 and 4x4. currently its a free beta, he just started working on it the other day. improvements are updated daily/weekly.
here is a screen shot of it running on my phone:

It's still a bit ugly, but will do until Koxx sorts out a 4x1 version of his.

unfortunately, i don't think so. it's really just for exchange. if you ever start using your exchange account for calendar and email, you'll love it though! it MIGHT be able to sync with your google calendar, and you could definitely turn on email forwarding, but i haven't found this option. it does copy your exchange contacts to your phone, however, and update your phone as you add new contacts.
the biggest drawback i've found is that you have to add contacts through the application...you can't add them directly through the contact list in your phone (else it won't appear on exchange). if there is a workaround, please let me know!

Pure Calendar is what you are after:

dxTop Widget Development

Wanted to start a thread here about dxTop widgets. I want more of them! Memory Management is awesome, now we just need a few more!
This is basically a plea to the Developers here to make a few.
Weather
Calender
Frequent callers
RSS
Digital Clock
New Analog Clock (If you make themes, maybe just extract your clock, and make them avalible as dxTop Widgets, as dxTop overwrites the clock styles )
There are more, a better starting list is at the dxTop Forums however
Perhaps a XBL Widget showing peoples status. Or maybe even a mini buddy list from some of the IM clients.
I'm thinking about adding a widget view to the open source Wifi Tether app so that you can just click on a button on your screen... If the author doesn't beat me to it.
I would like a RSS feed widget and weather widget. Maybe a system status widget(storage, temp, memory, and cpu speed)
Perhaps the tether widget could show who is also connected.
I am all about the different style clocks. Thats a great idea.

Yeah, but the thing is, I'm probably not going to actually code it because I dont have the time; I'm just going to make a view for it... eventually... =D

Wouldn't that end up being a widget that's about the size of an entire screen?

Or you just touch a widget the same size as the Mem monitor, and it changes between them/expands like a folder opening for more detailed view, or a combo of both, tap to change the quick view, hold for a detailed overview.
Mind you, I am not code savvy, so I have no clue if it'd work...but the widgets in windows can do similar things, so some intelligent Developer might take a swing at it =)
three words... upcoming calendar appointments
I think once there is a more complete "how-to", I think more will become available.
I cant wait though!
i always wanted some widget like this
i thought it would be a great
addition to the home screen

[REQ] WM6.5 Titanium Calendar

Does anyone know of a way to display a month view of the calendar within Titanium? I just want to see a quick view of the calendar to check dates, etc. without opening Appointments -> Day View -> Week View -> Month View. I know you can use SPB or other interfaces but I want to just scroll down to Calendar and see an actual calendar.

I believe this is what you want just rename .txt to .lnk and drop in the windows dir then change the appropriate reg settings and you should be good to go.
Not exactly. But that file helps in reducing the amount of clicks needed to get to the month view. What I'm looking for is a panel for CHome that displays a month view without clicking on it. I don't need to see any appointments or anything.

^ Yes please great idea
that would be awesome.
the only issue I see with that idea is the size of the plugin. All the plugins have size settings and I don't think it can be changed for each plugin. To have a full month calendar, the plugin would take up the whole screen.
you could use the My Apps plugin and create a shortcut using the info given above, again it's not exactly what you want but it's as close as you are going to get.

I think having a panel that is double the size of a regular panel would still be legible. And I know that you can expand the panels height, not sure if you can do it individually though. Still would make a great panel and be very useful.
Yes, you can use different size panel. Win7 beta theme uses diff size panels.
or edit on idea...
Maybe the panel can show Week view.
Or even fade text in and out as different weeks of the month shown vertically.
kinda like:

Should probably req panel on Dev & Haq forum.
Any one developing a panel for the Month view that you know ?..
I'm certainly interested to make one, if some one throws an idea on how to get started with it (Technically). hehee
Finally what i have as an alternative to the month view on a panel is, a nice IPhone style icon (Also dynamic Updates the Icon with Date ) on a JML Panel and link the Thumbcal (Free Full Screen Month View App) application to it using the JMLPanex. I find it a nice alternative, apart from having the month view always on the panel..

Also, I think a whole screen version, a bit like the new lava labs home could be really nice-
A base for all messaging.
I would try to keep the skin colours to a minimum, and use coulours as UI elements to differentiate sms, mail etc etc
A whole screen widget would be amazing! Hero style would be awsome, becuase it just looks fantastic...
sorry i do not have the apk/widget, it is just an example i was using. go search beautiful widgets for more info on the sms hero style widget currently on market.

maybe something like the htc msg widget? i think its 4x4 tho for htc one. here is an example of widget provided by beautiful widget, i think they got it into 4x2. it's the same hero style, but their's only does SMS.
This is the real official hero one:

whats is the lava labs u mentioned? and also, i have always wanted to see some kind of full screen browser widget. i know it might sound stupid but i would just like to be able to swipe to new screen and be able to pick up where i left off, just an idea...
also what version of beautiful widgets is that that has hero style sms widget?
To be honest, I'm getting bored with the icons for refresh and settings. They're rather bland, and it's becoming an annoyance to see them repeated in every widget.
In one widget they're unique. In two they're distinct. In more than that, they become a style, and I feel doesn't really fit this type of widget.
I think this design would give a better style to fit the widget:

Koxx, this is providing a service to G1 users have been asking for ever since we were given the gift of Hero. unfortunately little kings in the ROM drove us back to CM or Xrom. But you my friend have given us G1 users something to cheer about once again. I love your pure calendar and now this, WOW i cant wait as im a HUGE widget junky and thank you for your devoted work. By the way love that fact that you will NOT be copying Hero and staying unique. I will definitely keep on eye on this.
i wouldnt use this widget, i dont like having all my messages displayed there right on the home screen, but i like the idea of it though haha. i just wouldnt use it. here is a design i just made that incorporates all the elements found in the previous designs. simliar but still different!

[WIDGET][UCCW] - MIUI 2x4 Weather Clock Clone

Hi all! I'm Digitalhigh. I port MIUI for the evo 3d. Resultingly, I've spent a lot of time lately trying to get every little detail perfected. One of the things that bugs me is that the 2x4 weather widget is broken from the factory. Or, to be more precise, the weather feature refuses to work because they rely on their own built-in weather app, which doesn't work in the US.
There exist several clones of this app with varying functionality...one doesn't locate your position, another doesn't default to the system clock, etc., etc.
So, I set out to find a method to properly emulate the MIUI weather app without any loss of functionality or requirement to bounce between six different programs - and discovered UCCW.
(This is probably a great time to point out how bada$$ UCCW is. A lot of widgets are customizeable, but this one takes the cake. The built in WYSIWYG editor is just awesome).
The above image is the full set of weather icons created for this. I'd say about 75% of them are pulled straight from MIUI framework, and the other 25% were created by me to fill in the missing requirements for UCCW.
Original: VS Mine:
And, as you can see, the output is pretty danged good. I am still playing with fonts and such, but for now, I'd like to get feedback on how all the weather icons look. I live in the frigid wasteland known as Wisconsin, so most of my weather updates are going to be very nonplussed. So, if anybody using this has issues reading over any of the weather images, please take a screenshot and post it for me and I'll see what I can do for that image. Thanks!!
As this is designed for MIUI, the assigned hotzones are linked to MIUI apps, and may not work on other ROMS. If you know how to use UCCW, then you know it should be a snap to map these to your ROM's apps.
ALSO, this is designed for the evo 3d's screen, so I'm not sure how the dimensions will work out on other devices. Please let me know.
But - the clock links to the miui deskclock, the date links to the calendar, and clicking the weather icon links to the trusty ol' google news and weather app. Tap the top-right to get into UCCW editor.
So, yeah. Be gentle. I know the corners need a little work and it's my ultimate goal to fully scale the weather icons and add more features, but for what it is, I think it's a good start.
DOWNLOADS:
Download the skin
Download UCCW from the play store
Is it possible to show the weather as mph vs km, or is that just a limitation of UCCW?
Thanks in advance. Looks good! Keep up the great work

Unfortunately, that seems to be the one thing I couldn't find. I'm new to UCCM, so I'm really hoping I just don't know how to do it yet. It is possible to edit the suffix of the wind speed item - but I don't think that it actually changes the value to the MPH equivalent.
Right now I'm trying to do a better job with the overlay - you can kinda see where the mask is undercut by the weather image due to the weird scaling used by UCCW. So, I'm gonna redo every single weather icon and just use a blank bg - I hope this will do the trick. Once that's done, I plan on getting in touch with the author and seeing if that is a feature or if it can be added.

AT&T in the U.S. renamed it Calendar but it's still S Planner. If it's completely missing it might be a regional thing. Use an app like Shortcut Maker and see if you can find it in your phone's apps and activities. It may be there but hidden and you can use a shortcut to you make to launch it.

If you're talking about being able to add hand written comments on week view that's gone. A casualty of Samsung's de-bloating efforts. You can still ink but it's not as broad as it used to be. For example, if you press a date on the calendar with the S Pen this pop-up appears. You can handwrite your meeting in to it but it auto-coverts to text.
