Anti Glare and Anti Smudge Screen Protectors - myTouch 3G, Magic Accessories

Anyone find any successful ones yet?
So many garbage ones on eBay, hard to know which ones are the quality ones.

Search for the Martin Fields one, bit more exspensive then the bog standard ones but they are the best ones I've tried so far.

Yup Martin Fields are awesome, not sure if they have anti-glare or anti-smudge ones though...

I have ordered one anti reflection Brando Screen Protector and it is just perfect, and i think it is cheaper then the martin fields one's, but those from martin field are also good, i once had one for my touch diamond and it was also very nice...

I broke down and bought a martin fields one. Should be anti glare but who knows, we'll see i guess

i ordered the ones from ebay from username dcmugen88
ive ordered his clear ones in the past and they are high quality and just like the boxwave ones.
if his matte ones are any similar to the boxwave ones, then i would go with those, they are a really good deal.

How about a best skind ever? Its not anti glare but its anti smudge. I have a review on it in this section

my martin fields one came in the mail today.. will see how it is. cost enough.. lol

are those martin fields one like the boxwave ones?
if so then they are just marking them up 1200%.

I don't know. But I prefer not to talk about it lol, if that is the case!

Well i put the martin fields protector on. Not bad. Definetly hard to get air bubbles with this thing, goes on nicely. But, lots of smudges. have not tested glare yet, probably anti glare though.
Probably should have kept the cheap $7 lcd camera screen protectors that when in direct sunlight, basically light up everything on the screen so you can see it.. lol.
Also got some dust on the inside of the screen protector as I was laying it on the screen, could not get it off.. really annoying. damn dusty apartment

If it is a static peel screen protector, you can pull it up and use a piece of tape to get it off.

Oh I should have thought of that. Well I have already taken it off once to pick some off the dust so maybe I just won't worry about it anymore, don't want to weaken the adhesive by taking it off and on. I'll just be extra careful with the next one.

Power support
I ordered power support, really good, 2 for $14

Well I am sort of an "expert" on these screen protectors, I used like 50 brands for my previous phone (iphone).
As the person above said, power supports are definitely the best I have ever used. The anti glare and anti smudge work very well, put them on once and they were there for a year.
Also check on the packaging if anywhere it says static cling or static peel. If it does, then you dont have to worry about the adhesive coming off since it holds on using some weird static method.

Hmm says "mild adhesive". Nuts! I will look out for the other types though.. sounds better.
Might pick up some power supports. This $20 thing is definitely not finger print friendly, but might be ok for glare.

Here you go : http://www.powersupportusa.com/product/show/google-g1-anti-glare-film
12$ gets you two, they are the best you can get, period. They also dont use adhesive, but static cling so they hold on better, and you can literally wash them under water for hours and they will still stick on like new.
*edit* I believe this only covers the screen so the G1 version should work for the Hero/Magic
They are anti glare and anti fingeprint, the screen still does feel kind of weird an oily after a while so you might need to give it a wipe on your shirt every 1 to 2 weeks.

Shipping is like minimum $13 with fedex, and they and ups have a track record of charging extra when it comes over the border to canada! Damn! Dont know who to choose lol

I dont know, maybe they re-sell them somewhere..
I got them for 15$ for my iPhone 3G in an apple store here in canada

Anti Glare Screen Protectors, They Any Good?

I was looking to pick up some Screen Protectors for my Tilt and I noticed there are normal ones, and others that specify Anti Glare.
I was just wondering, do the Anti Glare ones make a noticeable differance when used in Daylight? I was using the GPS the other day in the car and I could see the screen but it does get pretty washed out when the sun is low.
Yes They Do
I have an anti glare type screen protector on my Garmin iQue M4. Works pretty well. Big difference between that and a clear protector.
I plan on ordering one for my Tytn II this week. Check out Pocket PC Techs. I think the website is PPCtechs.com or something. Much better than the Body Guardz I tried before.
the anti glare ones are dull in finish (usually) and take away from the great screen that the Tilt was given. I use the crystal clear protectors because I get the same clarity as if it was not there. Also, it protects the touchscreen from key scratches, banks, dings....

I figured the matte finish would cut back on the Picture Quality a bit, but the anti glare ones seem to go on like a static cling window decal. You can remove, wash, and reuse them over and over. That being the case, I would probably only use it when I am going on road trips and I know I will need the GPS.
I am going to get some normal ones as well for everyday use.

I think it's boxwave that will sell you 1 of each. AS for the whole wash and put it back on, I've never got them to do that. Usually by the time I'm ready to wash it, it's so worn out in the upper right corner or where the "s" or "a' keys on the pop up keyboard is, I usually replace instead of wash...
I've got both the high gloss and anti-glare protectors from Javoscreen. I purchased them for about 10 each on amazon. They fit perfect and seem to do an amazing job. I ordered the wrong size of each accidently the first time, which was OK because it gave me practice in getting this things on. If you actually do what the very brief instructions say, they go on to where you honestly have no idea anything was done at all.
They win my vote!
I recommend The Ultra-Clear Screen Protector from www.pdair.com (and while you are at it, get one of their cases as they are nice and allow you to use the keyboard in the case). I've been a very happy customer of theirs (free shipping from China) and have used their case and screen protectors on my 8125 (wizard). The screen protector lasts about 4 to 6 months for me.
I just put an order in with them for a new case and screen protector for an AT&T Tilt as I'm soon to be joining you guys (Tilt is on backorder though so having to wait...).

I've used the Boxwave crystal-clear protectors on all my last devices, with the Tilt/Kaiser I decided to try the anti-glare version from Boxwave instead. I wish I had stuck with the crystal-clear, they are MUCH nicer. I do like the feel of the textured anti-glare, but I see no significant glare improvement and the loss of clarity is obvious. I'd trade some clarity for glare reduction but trading clarity for nothing is the pits
Re: washing and re-applying. BTDT - it's a ROYAL pain. Oh the wash and re-apply is easy enough, but getting the protector clean enough that there are no spots left onscreen is [email protected] near impossible in my experience.

Best bet would probably be to rinse it with distilled water or saline (contact lense solution would probably work for that matter) and then dry it with a microfiber cloth.
I have the anti-glare from Boxwave....and I have polarized sunglasses. If there is light is at all on the screen (not the backlight) whilst I am driving, i can't see a thing on the screen. Even with the backlight on full.
I think I'll switch to the clear ones.

Screen protector

There came a screen protector with my Touch Dual, which works very well, i do not see any difference in using the protector or using the device without it. So anybody out there, who knows, where to get this specific protector?
Thanks in advance.
we
PS It is adhesive, which i like more than sticking it to the screen and never being able to remove it again
the one that came with mine is ok but I messed up by having some dust underneath so I've ordered a new one from here: http://www.martinfields.co.uk/dis_product.asp?model=HTC_DualTouch&modeln=Touch Dual&prod_type=screen
I've always used Martin Fields screen protectors, IMHO they're the best! plus they're ultra clear once you put them properly you can't tell

Screnn Protector Washable?
Hi..
Do you know if original screnn protector is Whashable?
Thanks
The orig. protector rocks.
I bought some from ebay and already dropped them into garbage.
Now i ordered one from martinfields and i hope this one works better for me ...
Any other experience?
i got 3 really cheap ones off ebay which are fantastic.
they're in 3 sections, you take one side off to reveal the sticky side then put it on the screen then pull the other side off to reveal the front face of the cover.
really good.

I don't know whether it's the best or not, but I had the same problem that you do.
I bought the protector from martinfields based on the recommendations in this thread, and must say that I like it better than the original one.
It is thinner, so it seems like you need less pressure to make the screen react when you press it.
I've only had it for a day, so I really can't say how durable it is...

Are the Martin Fields and Invisible Shields self adhesive?
I don't have to glue them on do I hehe
The one that came with mine I put it on properly but then I panicked slightly and thought "How do I get it back off!" so peeled one side up just to see if it would come off, then of course got all dust and crap under the edge so it looks skanky now thus want a new one.
I only managed to do that because it was slightly misaligned and a bit overlapped at the side of the screen though not enough to notice unless you looked very closely. So how do you get them off if they are put on perfectly? I know you could use a knife but you could scratch the screen and that defeats the purpose

Don't know about Martin Fields.
Go to link in above post to see Invisible Shield. If I remember correctly, they tell you how to do things on their site. I don't have one for the niki so can't tell you for sure, but have one on my ipod and it took awhile to get on, but well worth it.
Also, their customer support is very very good.

Use scotch tape. Just stick it on the face of the screen protector and lift. Simple as that.
Btw, I've recently swapped out my screen protector because I somehow got a scratch on it. Anyway, the sales recommended one that was matte finished (as oppose to glossy like most screen protectors). I have to say, it is so much better than the traditional glossy ones. The great part is the texture. It is so much smoother than regular ones. Great for sliding your finger across using Touchflo.
However, it does diminish your off-axis visual quality. But i suppose that doesn't really matter since you don't look at your screen off-axis much anyway. It may even be a plus since you might not want the person next to you to see what you're looking at...

That's a good idea! I never thought of that, I did see something on a website about using something sticky to remove it but I was thinking of blutak or something like that and thinking that it wouldn't work very well!
A bit of grit got on my screen and I scratched the protector with my stylus the other day, another reason to get a new one, but also a good reason for leaving the current one on!

I'm in Hong Kong so I just picked it up from one of many independently owned techy shops. I didn't pay attention to what brand it was (i basically just paid the guy and he opened it up and stuck it on for me). The next time i head back there, i'll take note of the brand.
Invisible Shield
Just installed the I.S. (bought on ebay) on my Niki...
It's been a pain in the neck to install...
It's really hard to prevent small bubbles on the surfaces...
Maybe on a white ipod has a better look but on the Niki black finish you'll see them..they're really really small but sometimes in a large number: the overall effect is as a dirty and scratched Niki...
Bigger ones could rise passing from the front/back to the lateral sides, in particular near the big 4 rounds.
The hole for the hands-free speaker was totally missing!
When in hand you can feel the sharp edges corresponding to its thickness ...
The original protector is a little bit "softer"
But...
I can have it in my pocket with no additional thickness...
Right now I was using the silicon case, but it seemed that I was calling with a tv remote control...
I was just gonna buy an Invisible Shield *Thinks*
Thanks for the info ohyeahar I was thinking of going for the Invisible Shield but now might just go for a screen protector and some sort of leather case-age. Dunno

Anyone using a diamond without a screen protector

Hi I was just wondering how many people are using their diamond with out a screen protector. I have been using the invisi shield but it's starting to peel and look pretty messy. I don't really want to have to carry it round in the htc pouch they give you.
So how many folks just stick it in their pocket and have they found the screen scratches easily?
Cheers
I'm currently using a special TPU case from CAPDASE, unlike all the other silicone cases on the market, I'd say this has to be the best quality non-leather case out there. It comes in two colors, black or silver/white. In real life it looks a lot better than in pictures. I'm also using their mat finish screen protector.
The picture is from Google.
Me
No screen protector and no worries
my original screen protector wore off and i'm going to get a new set ASAP. it's not very wise to be using the phone without one IMHO
sorry, double post
I'm not using any screen protector either (have had it for 7 months now) and so far no problems. There are a few very little scratches here and there but they are not noticeable and it doesn't bother me.
edit: just cleaned well the screen to double check and there is only one small scratch near the camera on the top right corner, but it's only visible under a certain angle and with the light reflecting on the screen. So, the Diamond's screen is ****ing resistant!
I'm using one from MArtin Field. They are highly recommended as I have purchased many of their protectors and they are very very high quality
i dont use protector and my screen is full of hairline scratches and it also has 3 reallly deep scratches
i dont care

That's not the one I got, I'm just using the regular mat one, it's not a privacy screen protector. I can't find the exact shopping link, but the package looks like this, except the one in the link isn't mat. This screen guard comes in two types, clear or mat finish.
http://www.yesasia.com/us/capdase-p...amond-pda-phone/1011133846-0-0-0-en/info.html
EDIT: The mat one has the word "Excellent" instead of "Crystal Clear" on the package, it comes with a tiny cloth too, see attachment pictures.
It's not just scratches to consider, I have had mine for a week and I just put a screen protector on when it arrived in the mail and it doesn't attract nearly as many fingerprints and smudges, I was wiping the screen constantly before I put it on but I just sent several messages with my fingers and there's hardly a print on the protector.
i used to have a screen protector on it (the one supplied) but the corner started peeling off then i got annoyed with it... so there is now no protector on it. its been like it for about 6 months. its been kept in my pocket (with nothing else) and has only collected a couple of small scratches, which would probably come out with acrylic polish.
I didn't use a screen protector and regretted it as I picked up a fine collection of scratches. This reduces the resale value of the phone and alos on a screen with such a high dpi scrthes make a big difference.
However The screen also cracked seperatley, so it's off for an insurance job, after which it will be behind a screen protector/slip case.
I used the origonal one for 6 months and it was ok till the end. Replaced it with a cheap one from Ebay and after a few weeks it has bad scratches on it.
Next time i am going to replace it with an expencive one.
At first when I bought my diamond I used the invisible shield. Took the screen part of the shield off immediately because it felt to rubbery. I have been with no screen protector since and I have some hairline scratches, but they really don't bother me. When the screen is turned on they are unnoticeable. The truth is by the time the scratches start bothering me it's a great excuse to buy a new phone anyways( even though I really love my Diamond).
Nice one cheers people. Think i'll probably replace my invisi shield it does work really well it's just a shame it's peeled at the edges. It just makes the phone look messy.
Shame they didn't make it with a really durable scratch proof screen.
Cheers
I can't do that to my phone , i have sweaty palms most of the time

I strongly dislike the Zagg protective shields. The touch feel is horrible with them on. I rather get some scratches than use them. I had one a little while on another phone but ripped it of after a few hours.
Besides. There's already protection on it? I would like to get another one of those original ones instead. You can hardly see nor feel it.
Well i guess that's your opinion.

Hi vdciii.
I've had the invisishield installed on my phone. Since you're also from the Philippines, there is an official store that installs them with lifetime warranty (if it gets torn or damaged, 400 for "shipping"). So if the protector gets loose, they can also fix it for free, just do this before dirt gets in. I got it for only P1500.
The only thing I dislike about it is that there's a certain friction with your finger sometimes that annoys me, but it works. It also gets a bit finger print dirty but nothing a good wipe can't fix.

hello!
yeah, i find it a little bit annoying too. but for an exchange of full body protection, i think it's okay for me.
But what annoys me more is the thought that not all parts are protected. the white metal on the screen part is not protected which is different from what i have seen in the sites here. i thought of double checking the other ishield for xperia play when i have time.
How's your xplay now anyway? does it still have the ishield up to now?

My xp is still protected by invishield up to now. Other than the dirty screen, I think it's good enough naked. It's just hard to find silicone/crystal cases for this phone in this country.
I have used my Invisible Shield since i bought my Play in august. Still no scratches Just bought the Play Dock too
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
I'm very disappointed in Invisible Phone Guard. It appeared to include more coverage bits than any others on eBay and was described as being thinner than the others and compatible with "any" case. It seems as thick as any Zagg shield and includes NO corner protection/coverage. The right-side piece only surrounds the volume buttons and does not run the length on the side like that carbon fiber style one someone else has here. Though there are pieces to cover the trim above the screen and below the buttons, it has none to cover teh silver bits on the left and right of the screen. It also includes no protection for the L & R buttons. I think the Zagg Invisible Shield option with all the extra bits would have more coverage but they don't show it on the site.
Oh, did I mention that the microfiber cloth was full of lint? Also, even though I tried to align the screen protector with the top of the screen it is touching the bottom and seems to be causing my home button to stick down. It should have been a little shorter! Before reinstalling my Otterbox Commuter I noticed that the clips that go over the top and bottom were fractured and, sure enough, they cracked through and flaked off when probed with my fingers. When I snapped in on the phone, I saw new stress fractures appear.
I'm not happy with the Otterbox Commuter either, but that's for another thread.
I dont understadn, what's the difference between this and another normal screen protector?

First of all, what do you consider "normal?" Traditional Zagg Invisible Shield screen protectors have an adhesive and require wet application, while they now have a new line of "dry" protectors that are likely more like the alternative stiff film variety (dunno. haven't seen one). The original Invisible Shield is a very tough elastic designed for things like the edges of helicopter blades and it adds what has been described as an "rubbery orange peel" texture as opposed to the smooth texture of many others. It feels a bit sticky when perfectly clean. There are many others that use the exact same material, like the Invisible Phone Guard that I mentioned earlier. Zagg charges more than most alternatives and has different options, including screen, full-body, and another that has little bits to cover every part if you are dedicated enough to bother installing it.
Its great, I have had one on every smart phone that I have had, I have never gotten scratches on it either.

I have it on mine, I think it was a bit much i payed 38$ for mine just because i got the phone for free with upgread. Its the full shield and its not so bad. Makes ur phone super glossy. For the protection its worth it. And yrs the finger doesnot glide like it did but really not that bad this phone aint cheap rimember that. Zagg works

I have had the shield before and it covers well due to it being thicker then most covers, however the feel of it is very resistive. Which I do not like.
Also, I have had 2 friends who after many months of using the shield on their phones had issues with their touchscreens going out. If I recall over time the zaggshirld will damage your touchscreen digitzer. When I finally removed my zaggshield it was all yellow.
My opnion do not touch a zaggshield yeah they really protect your phone until the touchscreen takes a crap on you.

Some reviews rating it poor mate that the protector doesnt cover the edges of the screen? Can you confirm or deny?
Can you post some pics maybe?

As you can see it fits extremely well with no bubbles or wrinkles, my partner has one on her S6 Edge with the same results and if you saw what smashed against it in her handbag you would be as impressed as I am.
Looks great but I couldn't find it on Amazon US
Probably because I live in the UK
Doesn't Amazon UK send to USA or Germany?

looks great. I have the spigen and it has orange peel effect. like little dots all over the screen (posted on forum). Can you confirm this one doesn't have that? does picture look less sharp? contemplating this…
You have to look really hard to see i have a screen saver fitted.
I was wondering whether having one of those full edge to edge screen protectors on would be affected when putting device in to a case...are the edges, etc. likely to come loose?

I have a sccren protector both front (edge to edge) and rear. It doesn't get affected by cases. It feels safe when I use phone.

Thanks, that is very good to hear.

Hi mate, I'm really fed up with all the screen protectors. I have spent a lot of money for this. Wet and dry solutions. Always the same result. Bubbles and a orange skin. I'm leaving in Germany. This protector would cost approximately 15€ with shipping. What is your honesty meaning? Is it worth? Is it better than skinomi or the other named protectors?
As you can see it looks good, it works well and is cheap ... Nuff said
i have that copter screen protector for my s6 edge and to be honest it was really bad to install,
bubbles everywhere, ill try install it again and see if they come out
Really excellent screen protector
I live in Romania.
Tried many many screen protectors so far, all bad (too short, only plane part, orange peel effect, edge unsticking etc etc etc)
Finally got the right one, covers the entire screen, great texture, perfect cuts; allthough the adhesive seems a bit more sticky than usual so requires much patience.
I personally prefer to be installed right at the dealer for free, the guy is great expert.

beware don't get this… its really bad, it scratches if you ever put earphones in the same pocket. will scratch if you scratch with your finger nail..
also get it and you will get bits of paper saying give it a good rating and you will get some money back… crazy… avoid guys unless you want to be disappointed
I also have the screen protector on from OP.
He's right, you really can't see that it's on. I was really impressed at first.
Kur0ya is correct though, easily scratched by nails, being left in bags etc. It's better than no screen protector mind but you'll need to replace it every 2 months as you will damage it!

But itsn't that sort of the point? I mean I paid close to a thousand euros for this phone, and would hate have the screen shatter or scratch, 0.99GBP every 8 weeks doesn't seem too bad a price compared to ~10-20€/month for an extended renter's insurance (with a 150€ deductible, mind you) if the phone happens to fall out of my hand when I pull it out of my pocket or something.
Mind you, I'm probably not going to buy one of these, I'm waiting to see which one of the few actual tempered glass protectors will be the one to go for, and spend a little more on that.
If only the screen proctor can turn out well, but it has poor ratings on Amazon.
