QMAT – Idiots guide of what can be done and how to do it - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

I downloaded QMAT. When I ran it a message came up saying I had 10 mins free with the unregistered version.
I have used Hard SPL before to flash my Xperia. I currently have a Vodafone branded uk tp2.
I would like to flash a standard uk rom.
I have seen this page with various roms etc http://xda.caspersworld.co.uk/
They seem to be exe files? What is all that about? Would I be wanting the Europe rom?
Can I put a generic rom on my phone with my free 10 mins of QMAT (assuming I still have 10 mins and it didn't mean 10 mins from when I ran it)? If so how? From what I have read it seems like the rom is installed on a memory card callled a goldcard or something.
Or am I likely to mess this up and better to wait for hard spl?
Sorry if any of the above sounds a bit dumb.

u cant use free edition of latest QMAT to create Rhodium goldcard. Buy it or u can use another method by contacting cmonex. (actually u can use free edition of QMAT but I cant reveal the info due to respect to the QMAT's developer. U hv to figure it urself)

As stated many times.
PM cmonex,
Buy QMAT (and figure out how to use it)
Wait for Hard SPL.
These are your three choices.

Should I get a TyTn?

Morning all
I have been offered a swap for my iPhone for a brand new boxed Orange TyTn II and Im just wondering if its worth doing?
I have had previous windows mobile phones and do like the phones so I am considering the trade, I am currently on o2.
The thing is i have read all the posts about unlocking and flashing roms etc and im a little on edge about doing it myself as im sure i will break it lol
I would basically need to sim unlock the phone and remove all the orange software as I think it looks naff!
How much work is envolved in doing what i need and how long would it take?
Sorry if im repeating a post, im not the best at forums and get lost with all this info you guys have!
Cheers
Sy
Absolutely YES!!!
There is no contest. The TyTN II wins hands down!!!
Leave well enough alone. Perhaps get a sim unlocker. Just do a search and you should find something. But don't play around with flashing roms etc. You may regret it.
Use the HTC original apps which you will find on a sticky at the beginning of this forum.
You'd be suprised how easy it is to Flash the Tytn II, the only things you have to remember is:
Flash Pof's HardSPL first,
Then Flash your ROM,
And make sur eyou have a Radio that is compatable with the ROM you've chosen (although if you have an incompatable radio, your device will still turn on and function, you just won't be able to use certain elements, calls/gps/etc)
Plus, you'll notice a MASSIVE speed increase when you've flashed to a new ROM
Hope this helps
I'm wondering if i should get a TyTn 2 now or wait for a Xperia.
Checked out the TyTn at a store a couple of days ago and i loved it, the only thing i didnt like was that it doesnt have a radio. Then i read around in this forum and came across the driver problems and the touchscreen bug and due to them i'm more inclined to wait for Xperia, but then i checked out Xperia's design and i didnt like the way the keyboard slides to, makes you operate the joystick with the right hand instead of the left and that's kind of uncomfortable.
seriously, who uses radio? I stream my Sirius satalite radio..
Sirius Pwnz AM/FM

Yes you MUST CID unlock as well (unless it has already been done, which is doubtful if it is on Orange).
My advice...Before even getting the TYTN II, read the sticky's and Wikis in the upgrading ROM section at least 3 times over to ensure you have an idea of what you are going to need to do before even doing anything. when you think you understand it, read them again.
Then go ahead and flash any ROM you fancy and enjoy the benfits of the TYTN II voer the Iphone.
HardSPL is the replacement bootloader that allows you to install an non original ROM.
Im on T mobile and i hav heard that the ROM is not heavily branded. im just worried about bricking it. i already have the MDA viara 3.
reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679 doing hardspl, does that automaticly unlock the CID or is there another tool to do that? if so do CID unlock it first and then hardspl?
You will NEED to CID unlock AND HardSPL...Do not consider doing anything untill you are 100% certain of the steps you are performing and why, otherwise you will have a rather expensive paperweight.

Thanks for the advice. one small question. if i was to follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1790046&postcount=3 word for word i should be succesful?
there is one question i am still confused about and thats this hardspl/cid unlock. according to the Thread i linked, all i got to do is follow the guide from HTC Kaiser Hard-SPL v1 - CID Unlock & Flash any ROM to your device (4 free) and bam im ready to Flash the ROM?
also what are the major benefits of flashing to a custom ROM?
does the procedure from that last link above hardspl AND CID at the same time?
hi i managed to hardspl my device succesfuly. so im ready to install a new cooked ROM? what are the best ROMS out there that i can try. i have seen dutty's ROM that many have used and was wondering if thats the best one
Does the DUTTY rom improve the camera and video playback?

Hmm...Some questions concerning the flashing

Hello there,
this is my very very first post here, and i'm glad that i registered myself Excellent forum, and very helpfull nevertheless I still can orient my self in the hierarchy of the threads for Herald PPC. It's a bit messy (i've found some info about flashing in booth Herald Mobile 6 and rom development ) ..just personal opinion, and I'll be very thankfull if someone give me a directions for my problem... enough with the crap, the question:
How the heck i should do the thing with the flashing and rom upgrading?
For background. Since a long time i've successfully managed to tweak and mod for the x166 infineon processor on siemens mobile brand especialy ME/S/C45, C/M/S35, M/S65 (yeah, still working on some of the models for dual sim for example, and J2ME inside the x45 series). Most of the procedures are in pure asm, some are in C written with C166 (so i though i knew some tricks)...anyway, it was a bit frustrating for me that i can not find anything concrete on flashing PPC. On one post is written how very important is that i've SPL>4.xx and there's nowhere explained how to decode this number, and how to see if the spl of my device is compatible (we have a patern of 1.0x.xxx1 for spl's, for mine it is 1.08.0001, is it compatible?, my intuition tolds me no)...and if it is not what should we do. On another post i found that mine is not compatible(surprise), anyway the guy had tweaked it to hard spl, and says it's working, but i preffer to be sure before take my chances.
Something else: nowhere found the WM6 official upgrade for Herald, even on the HTC corporate website(including the e-club). I've found a file here: HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe , downloaded it and it gives me a Runtime Error after extraction (yeah, it's an MSI archive).
Another one: in the tutorial by Ivan (great job by the way, really apreciated) some of the links are broken, some of the instructions are not clear...
For the moment i'm very sad (is the perfect word), because i feel myself very stupid and dull (i've had myself for an average inteligent guy), and I don't know if the problem is me, or the way the information here is represented. Please help me, to not being feel dull )
P.s.: Sorry for my bad english, realy didn't excercise a long time ago

Your SPL is too low to flash (excluding the old Aserg's way) but search for the word "goldcard" and you might find a way to flash.
The Runtime error, I'm not sure why you're getting that. Do you have .NET2.0 installed?
I have to update a lot of my threads, I just haven't really had time to be very involved with the xda community, lately.
Ok, guys, after a period of time, I get it!
And I'm gonna write here a quick instruction concerning the nobs (like me).
Steps:
1) Make shure that u've an IPL & SPL higher than 4. When u start ur device, there're some chiphers, that're written in the following format x.xx.xxxx. Usually if u've just bought ur herald it is with windows mobile 5, and the written is (for example)
IPL 1.0x.0001.
SPL 1.0x.0001
OS 2.28.4441
The first chipher is the version of the IPL and the SPL in our case it is 1. So u're not OK with it if u wanna make some personal changes in ur rom, or just wanna use a personalised one.
2) Get higher IPL & SPL. To do so, u must upgrade to Windows Mobile 6. The correct link for the English version of the WM6 is here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/49315340/HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe
or any other language here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358030
Don't worry about the WM6, it's more stable than the older, it's faster, and it's more reliable. Something that I was a bit affraid before upgrading.
3) The upgrade proccess is very simple. U've a file, that is a MSI (Microsoft System Installer) archive. It contains a bunch of files, the most important of them are : RomUpdateUtility.exe (or here called RUU), SPL.nbh(SPL&IPL>4) and RUU_signed.nbh (the windows mobile 6 itself).
4) Connect ur herald to the PC, and follow the instructions(!!!), just make shure that u're connected with ActiveSync(and u've backed up all your info with it). After upgrade u should upgrade and the activesync too, to version >4.5.
5) If u screw up something (ur electric company shuts the electricity for unpaid bills for example, or the pc is running winSucks and freeze), don't worry just switch of the pda, press the camera button and shortly press the reset button in the same time, while the pda is connected to the pc with the usb cable. U'll see the bootloader, ur pc will recognize the pda as a new device, and u can put inside whatever u want, just by skiping the initial chekup of the compatibility of the phone. It's a risky but if're shure about the version of the ROM, everything is just fine. In worst case the PDA won't start and u should reflash it with the original ROM (RUU_signed.nbh), by entering the bootloader.
6) u've brand new pocket after the upgrade to windows mobile 6 and SPL, IPL greater than 4.
Next is HardSPL-ing:
1) read carefully the thread about the hardSPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225
download the packages posted in the first post. If the links are broken wet me know by typing a personal message, i'll upload them again.
2) Follow the instructions that are written in the first post of that thread.
3) After the reflash u'll have a brand new (once again) pocket with hardspl, and personalized windows mobile 6.
Next step is to download any of the up-ready-steady roms developed by the gurus here, and reflash the pocket with them. Or create your own, by using the rom cooking class of ivanmmj:

Education Required: HTC TP2 ROMs and such...

Hi there,
I got my new TP2 today, and was disgusted when I saw that Vodafone had raped the aesthetics of what I thought was going to be a gorgeous sleek, black interface. So, I jumped online researching what could be done, and eventually came across this site.
From what I have learned, I'm of the understanding that I must obtain the HTC unbranded 'ROM' and flash my phone's software back to the HTC ROM, instead of the tainted Vodafone offspring (I am fully aware this will void my warranty).
I've been looking around to see if the UK ROM is out, but so far I can only find the South East Asian one (posted in this forum) and a topic all about the EU one.
Are the EU and UK ROMs the same? Or am I going to have to wait X amount of time before it's indefinately released?
Or am I talking out of my arse altogether..? I've never worked with XDA/PDA phones before so I've no clue what's going on.
All I know is that Vodafone have screwed me over!!
Much appreciate in advance,
Rob
Rob, welcome to the forums. There is a wealth of information here usually, but as of now, this phone is VERY new. Things are still being worked on to allow the flashing of roms that are NOT provided by the carrier you purchased your unit from. Once this has been fully allowed (SSPL and HardSPL. Basically a hacked bootloader that doesn't check vendorID, allows unsigned roms images, and other things too) we will be able to do as you wish.
Keep watching, and a new thread will be created when it has happened.
Thank you so much for the speedy reply.
Unfortunately, I'm flabbagasted by the amount of words you just used that I do not undertstand
From what I know, SSPL and HardSPL are both some sort of devices used to flash (similiar to a piece of software used on computers to flash BIOS updates). These devices have to be made compatible with the Touch Pro 2 and its ROMs before they can release anything substantial that can solve branding problems. Is this correct?
So i'm waiting on:
1 - The UK ROM to be released in a stable format.
2 - SSPL/HardSPL to be made compatible with flashing these ROMs to a TP2 such as mine.
Thanks again.
Welcome to the forum.
Do some reading about HardSPL and QMAT.
HardSPL is still being developed and will hopefully be ready with in the next few months. So for the moment, you will have to use QMAT but it does have it's limitations.
Once HardSPL is released there will be a whole range of custom ROMs and then you will have many to choose from.
I host a range of ROMs at http://xda.caspersworld.co.uk
A Europe ROM should be World Wide English - WWE (unless specified) and should be suitable.
I dont know if the TP2 will be affected, but early on when people where upgrading the Orange UK Kaiser radio ROMs, there were problems and the phones would then needed unlocking.

The ROMs used on HTC phones are signed with a certificate. The phone (SPL) checks for the certificate when you try to flash a ROM / image.
When the cooks make a new ROM, they are not able to sign it with HTC's certificate because we do not have access to it.
To get round this issue, we used a hacked SPL named HardSPL. The HardSPL does not check for a valid certificate and will allow flashing of any ROM, signed or not.
The HardSPL needs to be flashed on to the phone, but again, we do not have access to HTC's certificate, so we use SoftSPL which is a temporary SPL that does not care about the certificates either.
There is also a CID you have to worry about. This defines what region / provider the phone is from.
Vodafone have their own version of the ROM for the TP2 (again, this has been signed). Obviously Vodafone do not want you flashing an Orange ROM, or even HTC ROM on to the phone, so the CID is set to only let you flash a Vodafone ROM. HardSPL / SoftSPL will bypass the CID. QMAT is another utility you can use to generate a GoldCard that will bypass the CID checking but not the certificates
Hope that makes it a little clearer. Any more questions that you can not find answers to on the Wiki or forum, just ask and someone will try to help you out
Thanks for taking the time to explain this to me. I've googled around but have found HardSPL information for various phones and don't want to confuse myself. Though, what you have said has clarified things a little more.
So, to confirm...
When flashing a ROM onto a TP2 the phone checks the certificate to see if it is accepted or denied. For example, flashing a HTC ROM onto a Vodafone certified phone, will be denied due to certificates and CIDs not matching. Conclusively, HardSPL will be able to ignore this certificating process, and allow anyone to flash any ROM of their choice onto the phone.
However, for HardSPL to be installed we have to go through that process in the first place, so SoftSPL has been developed as a temporary solution to install(flash) HardSPL onto the phones.
Right?

Yes you are right.
Now a answer to your first questions.
I know how much is a pain in the butt to buy a Vodafone Branded Phone (I have Vodafone SIM and because of the branding that they put, I only buy Factory Unlocked Phones).
If you need help, the new rom is available in the HTC UK website, put the following serial: ht968ll00175.
Then download the Europe WWE ROM. To change your firmware you going to need at the moment a registed version of QMAT for creation of the GoldCard.
Then is just install as normal.
Just to See, my phone had arrived with the PTG Rom, I had changed to the Asia WWE and now had the Europe WWE ROM. If you need further help, just send a PM.

Most of the 'stuff' that Vodafone have done to the phone can be undone quite easily without flashing ROMs or unlocking the phone. Most, if not all, of the details are on here in various places.
This thread is probably the most comprehensive

Thanks for the input and help Stunno, appreciate your efforts.
Black Pheonix and I are half way through creating a goldcard for my TP2 and flashing it to the stock HTC ROM. This way I can flick between the Vodafone ROM and the HTC ROM when/if it has to be serviced or claimed for on warranty.
I've had the phone for a day and I don't particularly like the reviews of things such as the file explorer not working, and the TP2 failing to boot because of the installed theme.
Thanks anyway.
i'd like to jump on this bandwagon , i've got a voda branded phone , i've taken the branding off with the patches mentioned before but would much rather have a 'clean' un-branded rom.... is there a guide for using qmat and creating a gold card for this purpose ? I've had a little search but didn't find anything for this specifically ? Dont mind paying for qmat.
I've had a little ****-around with qmat but i'm guessing you got to know what your doing ..... I'd rather not try my usual 'fiddle with it till it breaks and then try and fix it' way of doing things.

OK, guide for QMAT:
1st - Pay it to get the key;
2nd - Buy a microSD Card;
3rd - Install a registry editor in your PPC and change the following key: HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\"00001001" set to integer 1 (it should be integer 2);
4th - Go to QMAT and do the following:
Select:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then do the Following by steps:
First - Get SD Serial from WINCE Device (wait until appears a new serial. During the process will appear a message in your Rhodium, say allow or yes);
Second - Choose in the selection box the Rhodium equipment (not Rhodium CDMA in your case, CDMA is for US Rhodiums);
Third - Choose one of the 2 options, I prefer direct copy to the card in the WINCE Device instead of image to your PC Harddrive.
After that is simply download the signed rom you need and patch with the card still inside the Rhodium. Don't forget that you must be sincronized with ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center.
Any more help just PM me.
If you sit tight for a few days I'll be making a tutorial for how to unbrand TP2's using QMAT and Goldcards, in collaboration with Black Pheonix.
Hopefully, it should put to rest the problems for all the people who have the same problem as me!
Check back on the forums in a few days, or check my profile and add me on msn if you want any more info.

But I cant get them to work
I just want to flash the new EU rom onto my vodafone TP2 so I can use the HTC rom and subsequent patches without waiting for vodafone to get round to it in 6 months time.
Should this procedure work for my TP2 ? Or does anyone have the correct set of instructions for teh rhodium ?

The procedure that I've done is the same I posted. Worked with me since first time, I already had flashed my rom 2 times using this procedure without any problem, rom, radio and sms update.
Well I was trying to use perl and the xda dev tools to create a goldcard as I dont have QMAT and only wanted a one off upgrade to the HTC vanilla ROM.
I take it your saying the only way to do this at the moment is to use QMAT ?
TIA

I'm not saying that the only procedure to do it is using QMAT. I'm saying that was the procedure that worked with me. Perl may also work, but I do not tested that way.

Older TP2s came with 6.1 ROMs. Mine did too. But official 6.5 updates are available from HTC and from some (but not all carriers), and a lot of TP2s now ship with 6.5 already on them.

the wing by tmobile

hello: iam trying to unlock my phone so i can update the sotware to windows mobile 6 can anybody help me with this ?
Ok. Several things: 1) If you have the default T-mobile ROM on your Wing, you already have Windows Mobile 6.1. 2) If you post the same question in multiple subforums, you are very likely to be ignored. 3) If you only wish to CID unlock the phone, then all you have to do is flash any other ROM found on this forum. Be sure to search in there for "How to Flash" before opening another thread asking for help. Thanks!
what do u mean default T-mobile Rom?
please excuse me iam new at this. and iam pretty sure that i do not have mobile 6.1 on my wing... could you help me in this matter? 1. i need to unlock the phone so i can put windows mobile 6.1 on the phone ... i would appreacte verey much paul....

Alright. If you bought this phone directly from T-mobile US, then you do already have Windows Mobile 6.1. Also, to check for sure which version you have, you can go to Start->Settings->System->About. It will display what version of Windows Mobile you have.
I suggest you start with the wiki. Since you keep asking to 'unlock' your phone to be able to flash a new ROM i'm going to guess that you don't know what your doing. Make sure to read up on what is required to flash a new ROM. If you need any more assistance please make sure to ask the correct question in the correct forum and I'm sure everyone will be willing to help. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Herald
@elazullizard, unless something has changed, the Wing DOES NOT come stock with 6.1, it comes with 6. Now like I say, that may have changed, but I just bought a brand new in the box Wing manufactured in November 2008, and it booted into stock plain jane T-mobile 6. So yeah, this guy does indeed need to CID unlock and upgrade to 6.1 or 6.5.
thank you. and its hera 110 rom ver. 4.26.531 wwe and i do have windows 6 professional but i would like to cid my phone so it can take a new rom? and you help in this mater?
Yes, first of all soft-reset your device using the little hole on the left hand side of it, as soon as you press the little button in the hole, press and hold down the camera button until the 3 color bootloader screen is displayed...confirm that your IPL/SPL is above 4 and reply back to me with the exact number and we can get you started from there.
hello there ther a little problem I use the divce on and everday as my life line for work and i do not have a spare. and this forum takes forever for someone to get back to u ,
so if we can talk head up on yahoo or let me know when u are gona be on this site so we can do this together thank u paul
its rom ver 4.26.531/wwe
radio ver 03.21.90 and runing windows mobile 6 professional.......
Well my yahoo IM is listed in my profile information, and I still need to know your IPL/SPL in order to help you.
Dear friends,
I use T-Mobile Wing. 2007 manufacture.
Can u help me to upgrade it. It uses Windows Mobile v6.0. I wanted to change it to Window Mobile v6.1 or v6.5.
I use it with another sim card. Not T-Mobile. But it is working properly.
How can I do this?
IPL 4.10.0002
SPL 4.10.0000
Thanks a lot...
P.S. Can I use GPS from my mobile. I couldn't found it.
There are plenty of posts that teach you how to flash custom ROMs. If you don't know where to start try searching for "how to hard SPL." You can flash custom ROMs without having your phone hard spl'ed by using USPL. If you decide not to use hard spl there is a great change that you will brick your phone and will no longer be able to use it again. After all you have to do is search for a flashcenter or use mine http://mywing.info/dl/Flascenter.rar . As for you GPS question, there are plenty of gps programs out there. You just need to buy either an external bluetooth gps receiver or a USB gps receiver. pair it with your phone and your done.

Noob needs help. Bought Wiz200 3 days ago

Hi everyone!
**This is my first post in this forum, so I apologize if I'm posting something wrong - please be polite**
I bought a MDA VARIO (I) 3 days ago. The first User didn't mod anything on this pda. It's T-Mobile (germany) branded and still SIM-Locked.
That's the point where I came to this forum. ATM I'm using an O2 SIM-Card (will change that soon to another provider) and can't use my new PDA.
At first I've read some threads and noted all my IPLs and so on.
**Then I downloaded an official update from the t-mobile webpage and now I've got a ipl 3.08.0001 and spl 3.08.0001 still Windows Mobile 5**
I've seen some cool stuff you ppl do in this forums and want to change my lame phone into a creative machine too That's why I ask for help.
---------------------------------
*************************************
My phone still works and nothing is hacked or anything. Just 1 Update to the newest state. I read some Wiki entries and some posts very carefully, but I'm still uncertain, so I post my thoughts in here.
I read that someone here is "collecting" the phone-data and I WANT TO DONATE. Just tell me what to do/post.
**************************************
-------------------------------------
My PC-System is Windows Vista x64 ultimate.
I already got the newest version of WMDC, installed the x64 drivers like posted in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338473
I already installed the newest Wizard Service Tool
------------------------------------
After searching some threads I found out that I have a G4 device.
------------------------------------
I want to upgrade the following:
1.kill SIMLOCK
2.kill SIDLOCK
3.install new windows mobile if this makes sense (read further in this post)
Final. Use the pda with my SIM-Card as phone,plaything, organizer and do stuff -thats why we are here
--------------------------------
(1)If I read correct, I have to DOWNGRADE my IPL and SPL to kill SIMLOCK, is that correct?
Same goes with SIDLOCK? (2)
(3) Which Windows Mobile will be okay? The phone is pretty weak (195Mhz, 64MB Ram, 126MB Flash, 16bits BUS, Memory: 42,55MB, [email protected] 240*320 with 65536 collors and an extra 2Gig Memory-unit)
I'd prefer a german windows (hope that you can't read my accent ) with lots of touch function. Saw some preview of Windows Mobile 6.5 and it looked pretty nice, but I'm worried that the 195MhZ Wiz200 is to lame.
It won't be good enough to get along with Windows Mobile 7 (when it comes out), does it?
---------------------------------
SO I NEED YOUR HELP:
What information do I have to post to donate?
Do I need to downgrade to kill SIMlock and SIDlock? How do I do this?
How can I actually kill/disable SIMlock?
Where can I get a good OS for my Wiz and which one would you prefer? WM 6.0; 6.1; 6.5? Language packs available?
Which programs do I need to install (must haves)?
**Thank you for your time to read this and all upcoming answers!**

This will be the page u want to go to to unlock your device. Use it at your own risk. Im not sure if you will have to downgrade your radio or with the G4's or not. this thread will get you where you need to be to get Hard SPL (CID Unlock) and SIM Unlock. Read the first post thoroughly that's the info you need.
Just remember, When in Doubt, ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS...we would rather you ask questions than turn your device into a brick.
Thanks for your reply.
Hope anyone else will post some thoughts to my other questions (Must-Have Programs, which OS and so on)
I wrote that much about what I've already read. I don't plan to flash my device into a brick just because I'm impatient

AFAIK HardSPL has nothing todo with SIM-Unlock.
For SIM-Unlock you should look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=265928
IMPORTANT: This is only for SIM-Unlock if you have a G4 Wizard!
CID-Unlock is not possible. You can either use SoftSPL or HardSPL for flashing a new ROM.
And don't use Vista!!! Use WinXP 32bit for all this stuff!!!
Hey there!
Finally got rid of Simlock, thanks for the link!
Since my lack of Windows XP I dunno how to go on modding my phone. Sim-Unlocking worked well with Vista 64 and WMDC (XP drivers though).
Visited a friend and used his XP-PC for the good stuff:
Now my WIZ is running WM6,5 by Cyberdyne and is overclocked with HomeScreen++. Running sweat. Totally happy right now.
Thanks again to all ppl who helped me to change my crappy T-Mobile MDA into some up-to-date funmachine!
