Need help flashing Bootloader/Radio/ROM - Touch Diamond CDMA

I've recently gotten a Touch Diamond from Verizon and I'm looking to flash it. I have experience from flashing and cooking for my original Touch, but I've found this Diamond to be much more stubborn/fickle.
I'm interested in flashing a new Bootloader, Radio, and ROM on to the phone because the default install is disappointing (resource usage). I've all over this site, google, and modmydiamond.info and haven't been able to resolve my issue, so I'm looking for additional help by posting.
When trying to load a bootloader (Hard-SPL 1.40 Olinex SIGNED, and the Jockyw2001 Hard-SPLs), my phone will prompt me, saying something is trying to run on my phone, I tell it to allow it, and the spinning color wheel comes up then freezes after a short amount of time. The installer on my computer will eventually time out. I restart the phone and it's good to go. I guess I'd like to start there, I think if I can get a Hard-SPL loaded I should be able to do the rest without much issue. Current bootloader information reads:
Security Unlocked
DIAM400
SPL-0.58.0000
MicroP-Diam (LED) v81
PSOC-Diam STAGE_EVT_v20
Serial
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I've done some more digging and trying and, I've obviously come across this thread in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544872. When trying to lock or unlock my phone using the links provided in that thread I get "Invalid Model ID".
Edit: Just realize it's not intended to work on Verizon phones... Any help is appreciated.

God I cant find a solution for this either

Did you try the HARD RESET and after the HARD RESET not letting phone load, instead pressing POWER/DOWN to go into bootloader?
Uhm... Is it Sprint? or Verizon?
If it's Sprint, let it reboot and install .NET CF 3.5 before launching Diamond Unlocker.exe
If it's Verizon, try using the SSPL-manual.exe <-- it's posted everywhere.
Good luck!

That doesn't work
sspl manual just gets you to the point where you realize that the hardspl doesn't work on verizon diamonds... wrong model #. us VZ users could really use a new cellphone company that doesn't cut the specs of a great phone down to that of a Motorola VU204... stupid big red...

Scared to post but I am stuck must take your wrath

Aloha everyone,
I have tried to not post for about 3 weeks but I just can't move forward. I have read and tried to follow everything on the site but I am just confused. I know this is a developers site and I am very intimiated to be castigated by you guys but...it's the internet so what the hell.
I have found numberous instruction threads pertaining to updating ROMS on the Wizard. It seems that up until recently there was only one way to do things but now there are many. As I try to answer questions I come into conflict over which way I shoudl be heading.
I currently have a working WIZ100 that boots with IPL 2.21.0001 SPL 2.21.0lip with GSM 2.25.11 and OS 2.25.11.1. I somehow got to this point, I think by following the instructions to get hardSPL on my device and booting on startup. I did not know if I next needed to find a ROM and if so then how to get that ROM activated on my device or what programs to do this with. I know that the threads spell it out but the threads pertain only to direct assumptions; the assumption that my head is not in my ass.
I wanted to attempt to put a new rom on here, for fun and to play around with something new. Perhaps increase reliability or to get WM6 going. I am stuck now though. Part of me wants to turn back and load the original ROM from the HTC site and the other part of me wants to try a new ROM as I already have this thing booting to the 0lip SPL.
Is anyone out there willing to help me either via this thread, personal message or IM?
Since you have already installed Hard SPL you should be safe to go ahead and pick virtually any ROM you choose on there. I don't have a lot of experience with Hard SPL yet, except for installing it on my kaiser, but the one thing I would guess that you should make sure that the ROM you want to flash doesn't have would be an IPL/SPL update included. As far as I know, I don't think any of the public ones that you find on here have them but make sure you read the chef of the ROM's entire post to make sure. And, if you magically happen to find my ROM somewhere, which you shouldn't since I only gave it to 2 people to try, don't flash it because mine does include an IPL/SPL update.
From my best understanding you have already loaded HardSPL and now are CID unlocked. If this is the case then I would recommend going forward and flashing a new rom to your device. Just go to the Wizard Mobile 6 thread and find one you like, and flash it.
Simple as that.
I appreciate your replies.
1) I am clarified like butter! What program do I download and use to flash the ROM to the Wiz, this has been a source of confusion for me.
2) If I download and install the HTC Cingular ROM from HTC, will that overwrite the HardSPL and return my phone to Factory Default, including the radio areas? In other words do I rid myself of 2.21.0lip?
Thanks for not beating my head in...very polite you devs are...
I like beating people's heads in, and you are far too polite, that I am actually having a very slight guilty twinge! Damn you. I have a G3 myself so I cannot help much, however, I found this sticky which may help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332320
I do know that once you choose your rom, you open the folder and run the item marked as ruu.
Now if you only had a G3, then I could fry you like the noob you are.
I suppose at some point, I should make a point of reading/learning about G4's. I know they are a far different animal from my G3.
That's the reason I said not to flash a ROM that contained an IPL/SPL upgrade since there is the possibility that it may overwrite Hard SPL, although I'm not positive of that, but better safe than sorry especially if it it's not an official ROM that carries the correct IPL/SPL format for a G4. If it doesn't contain the correct format for a G4 it could ruin your phone. If you flash an official ROM though and it overwrites it you can always just reinstall Hard SPL again and keep flashing. I hope this makes sense.
As for the files you need to flash a new ROM, they're usually included with the ROM. If they're not then just let me know and I'll upload them for you.
Good that you asked before damaging your (expensive) device...
Every Flash version comes with a RUU (Rom Update Utility) you just run that proggy and it does the rest.
To make it easier, look for a rom that states it's G4 safe (no IPL/SPL included), so you don't have to mess around with the inner files. If you want to, begin your tests with the TNT series, the latest build, stated in my sig is G4 safe, after that you'll be able to know the initial procedure.
Good Luck.
Thanks for the info.
Do I execute the ruu from Windows XP or from the SD card ont he device?
Why am I have a hard time searching for and finding TNT 5.2.1921 TouchFlo ROM?
The rom update utlity gives me an error when I try to update. Should I try to do all this from the sd card?
Well, I am plugging along. I rebooted after an error 300 came up on the rom utility. Any suggestions for me?
I found this thread, back in business, thanks for your help guys.
I guess my only unanswered question is...if I use the HTC ATT exe from htc.com will it kill the hardSPL and restore the computer back to normal?
If you have ROM on your desktop, Connect your phone to your computer via USB, open up Activesync, uncheck the check box in settings that allows USB connections. Make sure you have at least 50% battery, then put your phone into bootloader mode. (soft reset while holding down the camera button- keep holding the button for 5 sec.) a tri-color RGB screen should come up. This is boot loader mode. Then run the rom update utility program, and everything is automatic from there on. once it is done flashing the phone will restart itself.

Try it and find out. I'd kind of like to know the answer to that one too, although my phones a G3 and already CID unlocked anyway. You can always reinstall Hard SPL over again if it does.
So this worked out well for me overall. Installing HardSPL to my G4, and then using a correct bootloader with the right ROM (to review).
I am having one issue.
I have the OEM ROM, however the RUU gives me an error. Is there a documented way to restore the phone to an original status? Is it even necessary?
I ask due to problems since my upgrade to the TNT rom. I am noticing a lot of missed calls and people have complained. Is this an issue with the 8125 and the particular ROM?
I don't know what to ask, or how to search for this. Thanks for any input you can offer.
Otherwise the TNT rom is awesome. I do miss the voice dialing though. Thats another search.
Actually, that's usually an issue with your radio version. Try using either version 2.19 or farias 2.69 and see if that fixes your problem. You should be able to find both of them in the wiki and you may want to try both of them and see which one gives you the better reception because sometime one will work much better than the other for you depending on your location.
By the way, you don't have to be CID unlocked or have hardspl installed to update your radio so you shouldn't have an issue with the RUU giving you an error. If you do, let me know and I'll upload a different RUU for you to try.

So the Rom is broken up into major parts. Those parts must ineract with one another, so that would be why my radio version may be at cause?
Yep. The ROM can contain the IPL, SPL, OS, Splash Screens, GSM (the radio), and extended ROM, any of which can be changed or upgraded individually without affecting the other parts of the ROM (for all intents and purposes anyway). That means you can change your radio version without it deleting all of your settings or your installed apps in your OS, etc etc.
Since you still upgrade each individual part using a RUU that is able to update any of the parts you still get a warning when you run it that it will delete all of your files, but as long as the update that you're running doesn't include a new OS you can ignore those warnings.
I decided to back out of the entire upgrade and move back to WM5 Official Cingular HTC ROM. I am stoked that I now know the full process of taking a G4 through hardSPL, ROM updates and restoral.
I was too scared to try any radio updates or fixes. Maybe when I upgrade phones I will come back to playing with the 8125 but for now, I just need a good functioning phone for work.
Do these Cingular radio fix cabs apply to a standard phone or only to upgraded ones?

PLEASE HELP! "no gsm" ....BRICK?

i posted this in another thread but no one replied so thought this one mite be more busy. forgive me if this is the wrong place to have posted this.

i have IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.04.
it will allow me to connect to my PC with USB but active-sync does not recognize i have connected the phone.
please help someone. i just need a way i can get this thing working again. if i could just get the phone into a state of use again that would be good.

I don't think you'll get much help here as this is the WIZA100 & WIZA200 forum, not the HERM300...

You say that your device is still able to enter bootloader...? If this is correct then you do not have a brick. I understand that you do not have a Wizard, but a Hermes.
This is what you need to do:
Download the Hermes Official WM5 T-Mobile Rom
Put your Hermes in bootloader mode
Connect to your PC via USB
Run the ruu_hermes_tmhu_1.21.116.4_1.05.02.00_wwe_ship.exe that you just downloaded and you should have a working Hermes again.
Next time you want to upgrade your phone, you will want to read into what you are doing VERY extensively. You will find volumes of information under the Hermes sub-forum or in the WIKI under Hermes.
Good luck. Post back here if this was helpful just so I know I didn't waste my time.(thanks)
Non-Free Way to Unbrick
I bought one of these that was bricked one time. (for super cheap). After hours of trying stuff I broke down and paid $30 at imei-check.co.uk They sim unlock and CID unlock all at once. The result was an UNBRICKED phone. I still sold it and made about $100 profit. I think an HTC employee with insider info runs the site. Good luck.

Error 262 Updating any Custom ROM

I am new to completely flashing a custom ROM. I've been trying to flash a new ROM on my tilt, with the latest AT&T updates(ROM 1.62.502.0 Radio 1.27.14.09). Each time I try to flash a custom ROM I get Error 262 Update Error. The progress bar never gets past 0%. I've tried multiple PCs and tried reinstalling ActiveSync. Am I missing something, or do I have to do something first before being able to flash the new ROM?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Steve
i suggest u read all the wiki's and stickies regarding flashing a custom rom before taking any action...u obviously havent read it or havent got a good understanding of it which is why ur getting this error...and btw..i also suggest u search for solutions rather than just posting a thread like this which can be answered through a brief search of the forums.
I am about 100% sure you searched, didn't you?
Here, baby boy, let me spoon feed you and you can ask your mommy if she can whipe your drool:

I have searched the forums over the past week or so. The solutions suggested such as soft reset, hard reset, reinstall activesync, switch USB ports, etc have not done anything. I also came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370205
which would suggest that I there is an incompatibility. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of which radio version etc I would need to update to in order to update to a WM 6.1 ROM.
edit:yes I have run CID unlock.
Steve
AT&T 1.62.502.0 w/ 1.27.14.09 radio should flash fine on any Tilt even without CID unlock, since it's signed by AT&T. While I'm glad to hear your phone is CID unlocked, it's still strongly suggested that you flash HardSPL & Security Unlock your device.
Regarding your current issue, have you:
* Tried another computer to flash from?
* Entered tri-color bootloader mode on your phone prior to flashing? You can find out how to on the wiki.
Hope this helps!

My error 262 fixed
I don't know if this is the best place to put this, but I didn't want to open a new thread.
I too had been getting repeated error 262. And I spent a couple of hours searching for answers, and while there have been many questions raised on this subject, there have been few clear solutions (and certainly none that worked for me).
I have the HTC branded Kaiser installing from Vista. (By the way I am new to this, but as I had such a hard time working this out, I thought I should at least post what worked for me.) I unlocked the CID with pof's Hard-spl v1 tool. Then (as I want to stay with Mobile 6.1) I upgraded the hard spl to v3.28 by JockyW. I then downloaded a number of Roms I wanted to try. That is where the trouble started.
Each ROM I tried would get past the tri-color screen with no problem. Then it would hang at the 0% until finally showing the error 262. A soft reset would reload my previous rom unchanged. I tried many things: removing all USB's, firewall, virus protection, hard reset, reboot windows, every suggestion I could find (and understand).
While the hard spl I had should have worked, I thought I should try version 3.29. When trying to upgrade to that I had a similar problem with error 260 this time. Looking over spl update instructions I realized I had forgotten to uncheck "disable usb connections" in "Activesync" at the proper stage. Once that was unchecked, the new spl loaded. After that I was able to load the cooked roms with no problem.
It appears there was something wrong with the HardSPL v3.28 I was using or in how I installed it. The tricolor screen was showing 3.28. In any case, after I reinstalled a new hard spl (this time 3.29), I had no more error 262.
A bit long-winded, but hopefully this might help someone else.

My Blue angle is dead HELP...!!!

I was upgrading my ROM, when it was reached 76% the upgrading process is stay stil until almost 1 hour, so i reset my device, but...... My device is blank. I've try to entering the bootloader or reset my device but it doesnt work at all.
showing nothing on screen....
Please help me what should i do......
Thanks....
when i first had that problem, i first of all tried to load the batterz for several hours, after that didn't help i took it out for several days and then i constantly tried switching it on or entering bootloader. i am sorry i cannot tell you which of those points actually made the change, but in the end it worked again, i. e. it entered bootloader and i was able to re-flash the device. try something out, i don't think you actually bricked your device, and in a state like this, the device wouldn't get broke-r maybe one of the methods described by me will help you get your device back up, be sure to tell me, what it was then
Chef_Tony,
Actually i have upgrade the ROM, but what i have install is ROM for GSM not for CDMA device....
How can i have the ROM for CDMA device...??? please help me....
or can i just release the batteray for couple days will bring my old ROM (WM2003)??
it wouldn't bring you back to wm2003se, because the flashing process overwrites exactly that part of memory in your device that contains your old wm2003se. the general problem is that the gsm version is so much more popular than the cdma version, i don't know for sure, but i think there is no wm6.x rom for the cdma version, so actually you don't have the blueangel, but the harrier. a thread handling with that, you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=244534
probably that would also be a good place to ask for the shipped rom, which you need to flash on your device, but remember, also for the original rom you need to put your device in bootloader mode and use the maupgrade_noid.exe, since you already manipulated your device information and therefore the upgrade tool will give out several errors like error code 101 country id error or 150 the rom is not suitable for your device, but apparently you know how to bypass these errors, as you already managed to (start) flash(ing) your device. there is also a section for shipped roms in this forum, in which you'll probably find the link to the original rom for your specific device from your carrier in your country, or you look it up yourself
good luck with that, and i will stand by for further questions
greetings, Chef_Tony
EDIT: a collection of manz shipped roms you can find here: just look for your country and carrier: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476675
Oh, God....
Its so difficult for me.... I'm a newbie in this world....
Can just you teach me step by step to get fix my device.?
Please...... I beg you.
Thanks alot for your help
ok, first of all, go by the steps, descibed in my first answer, try to get the device into bootloader mode by any means necessary. try different ways:
- charge it by cable
- charge it by cradle
- try to turn it on
- take out the battery and retry
- try hard reset
- try hard reset+record button
...
whatever comes to mind that would do the trick and get the device back on in the first place.
2. tell me your country and what network you are using, and i will try and find the latest shipped rom for you and give you the download link.
EDIT: here you can find several shipped roms and directly download them: http://harrier.atspace.com/
3. i will try and find the MAupgrade_noID.exe, in case you don't have it yet.
EDIT: here you can find it in 2nd post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=250099
4. you put that file in the folder, together with your shipped rom, where you should also find BAupgrade.exe, but you start MAupgrade_noID. your device should be in bootloader and you put it in the cradle to start downgradning process, wait until it's finished, shipped roms sometimes contain radio update files, so this might take 40minutes. and i hope you are not using vista, because this would make everything terribly complicated, which is not exactly great, since you are rather unexperienced.
so, awaiting your post with your country and carrier, while i try and find the other things necessary and re-post. don't panic, we'll get through this
harrier?
the harrier shiped Roms chef tony are in the Mr Xplode or wiki links... seems that the main batt and backup are dead... need to charge then enter to Bootloader and run his own carrier rom as you say if the Ruu cant do it.. the MA you can use the one that is on the Helmi_c WM6 Rom... it works for me instead of any other BA MA no ID...
the link i posted is taken from xplode's signature. i forgot to mention that. and while we are giving credit to people for uploading and sharing files, i want to thank ramram for posting and attaching the maupgrade_noid in the post i linked to. EDIT: the version of maupgrade is the same you offer in your downloads, so it should be the helmi version, which works for everybody.

HELP! Softbank X04HT cannot be flashed!

i am trying to unlock this freak that i got from a relative from japan to work with any sim. i have downloaded diamond unlocker by olipro which is a three step-by-step process. so there, everything all set. but i cannot get to flash hardspl! tried all versions of it, signed, unsigned, developers edition, even jockyw's mfg spl. but none of them worked. unable to start the process because i cannot even do the first step which is the hardspl! i've here for a while and played with many htc devices but this is the first time i've encountered something like this. even tried flashing by bootloader, via activesync, internal storage, all possible methods i can think of, but to no avail. all just end up stuck at 0% and nothing happens until an error message comes up.
is there someone out there who had the same issue before and found a solution to this?
seems like it is nearly impossible to unlock this.
the phone is in japanese language, and the annoying "usim nag screen" keeps popping up! really frustrating! someone pls help!
here are details:
