GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE!
welcome to the world of rhodium!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!
Welcome back mate!!
What can I say... Wow...

Hi there, i tried your Rom last night and just a couple of things i noticed that seem to be popping up in a few of these cooked roms...
my Gwes.exe started around 13mb and over night jumped up to 32mb, this is from a fresh install, nothing installed and hard resetted....
Your lockscreen at first fine then eventually displayed the classic only half screen cover issue...
other then that everything worked perfect though i wish total commander was unisntallable...

yeah, I know about lockscreen Its made to skin the 230xx ++ builds withe the new 6.5 GUI (big buttons etc) it works better there, but they still have some work to do on that.
Rom is using ram/xip diffrently then most other roms, use more memory, but increase speed in many operations.

Not enough traffic on htcpedia ? lol

i understand that because it uses modules over .dll however the ram does rise over 32mb and eventually the system just became totally unresponsive until a softreset...

i'm working on it right now
Sweet! I hope it's not a light version and more of a full version.
I'm using 23037 right now and it's pretty stable, but a few things like connection problems at time and NO MMS so I have to flash back to my previous ROM.

NRG is working with 23041 for his next build.
I presume that we will soon have some new rom with this build, but as chefs are working hard on it and still there isn't one, I also assume that there is non easy way.
I am personally quite worried about battery life.
It doesn't seem to me that going from 6.1 to 6.5 has got my phone better life.
Also, I don't understand why - being so few weeks before WM6.5 phones hit the shelves - there are still no "full stable" 6.5 leaks...

I def. had a BIG improvement in battery life doing the switch! I went from 4 hours tops on heavy use to 9 hours on heavy use. I still need to carry my charger with me when I go to work, but that's not a big deal.
To be sincere, and trying not to go o.t., I definitely have increased my phone calling time since last economic downfall, so I don't have a clue about whether or not my battery life is worsened due to 6.5 or recession....

Duttys HD WM6.5 Leo R5

Hi there, there's a new Rom from Dutty, you can find it here:
<a href='http://htcpedia.com/duttys_hd_wm_leo_r_6d9ad31db5a4e9bad/soft/htc-blackstone-rom.html'>Download Duttys HD WM6.5 Leo R5</a>
Just flashing her and let's see how it is.
Ciao
As always from Dutty, it's pretty rock solid.
Hope the master keeps developing for the HD now he has his new baby the Topaz!
Using it at the moment for about 4 hours...
..seems to be quite stable, and appears to speed up once Neos DriverPack 3 is installed. I have that plus Gfxboost v1.2 installed.
Newer icons, larger icons, twitter tab (not tested by me). Sms appears stable, although I haven't loaded a lot of smses in it yet.
Overall...a solid ROM

Indeed.
When you have had the startmenu att the bottom for a while its a pain in the ass going back to older builds.
Also... looking att the comments there it looks like the Twitter login problem is still there in that ROM.

23016 is NOT finger-friendly(bottom buttons and WM menu) as 23047-49-53 etc so is not a good ROM.
23016 is finger-friendly as WM5(5 years ago) so, compared to iPhone and Android is a s..t
I totally agree with you guys. The newer start menu is addictive.
I wait and wait until there will be a ROM with 23xxx and manilla 1717 (sense).
How can anyone work with that new Start menu?
I tried it with a couple of ROMS and feel its just a mess. I never hit the right button, specially when you have apps that use a soft button for things like Exit, "X", etc. Just gets you confused
I can only hope MS never puts this in a final release!
I tried to ask a simple question as to why Chefs are sticking to 23016, but got it locked before any answer...
I have not tried the newer builds with the bottom more finger friendly environment, can you still use a task switcher ?
Chefs use 23016, because it's the official RTM and 100% stable version.
All newer versions are test versions and have bugs.
Hovever, I agree that the Start and OK buttons at the bottom are much better.

I doubt that 23016 is 100% stable -in particular not for the HD.

Like you, I used to hate the button Start Menu, but trust me, once you get used to it, you will know how addictive it is and will never wanna go back to the old top-left Start Menu, as you can see from various posts here.

I do agree as I was on 23016 for awhile. Had resisted the bottom Start Menu for sometime before I finally decided to give it another shot thanks to e-native Position Fix which helps the most in changing my impression of the bottom Start Menu. It is also nice that the new buttons are skinnable.
Personally I find the bugs in Manila 2.5 seems to over-shadow those of WM6.5, but we do see both evolving (with improvements?) as it gets nearer and nearer to the final release.
Great ROM Dutty!!!!!
Anyone know how to disconnet Data Connection after XXX minutes...???

[PROBLEM][FIXED!]Hybrid ROM WM6.1 + Sense 2.1 (wired remote contol)

Hello,
I'm new to the Rhodium, but I have some experience in cooking Sable roms.
So, the WM6.5 ROMs where a bit too slowly for me, however all WM6.1 roms doesn't have Sense. I made a hybrid - WM6.1 ROM with Sense 2.1. Works perfectly! Smooth, stable and so on... I have just one problem with this hybrid, my "Wired Remote Control RC E100" stopped working. It always starts Windows Media Player instead of Manila Player. If I cook the old Touch FLO 3.0 (without changing the other ext packages and OEM's) the problem is gone. It works perfectly if I cook the whole OEM's from a WM6.5 rom. But if I do that, a lot of other programs do not work anymore (for example keyboard). I think it's a problem with a driver that is compatible only with Sense or TouchFLO, but I can not figure out with one is it! That's lame, because my ROM is finished and just this issue stops me to using it (my wired remote control is important for me)!
Any help is very appreciated.
Edit: The answer is here:
http://xdafaq.net/index.php?id=13
Post the rom so i can take a look.. Always wanted a 6.1 w/ sense rom.. ;D
Yeah, me too... Trust me, the speed is awsome...
Anyway I dont think you can help me just with a finished ROM, maybe I should post my kitchen? Everything works fine, just the crappy remote control doesn't :/ I have to find with driver controls this!

Well i wanted to use the rom of course.. And i think the best thing to do would be to go thru the 6.5 oems adding a few at a time til the problem stops. then to see what you added that effected the remote..
Requires alot of flashing tho..
If you don't use a wired remote control... The rom could fit you ;D
OK, ill upload the rom asap... I'm a bit busy right now.

I checked already the registry, nothing there... I even swaped the .rgu files!
I will have to check all the drivers :/ And this will take an whole age -_-
I checked the cab file with HTC drives for the remote control... And there is just one suspicious file: wavedev.dll. I used this driver from WM6.5 OEM, but it doesn't change anything!
Ummmm... post it please!!!! Sounds like An awesome hybrid. Does it have the smooth flow In scrolling that 6.5 has? Besides sense 2.1 that would be my only other want. Don't really care, but, titanium will be gone cus this is meant to be fast and light right...... thanks... looking forward to the release!!!

Guys, firstly I need to fix my issue xD The ROM i have created is for my personal use, it hasn't got UC, it has a lot of my stuff and so on...
If there is need for such a rom, i'll create one. But this needs some time.
Edit: Yes, it has got smooth flow, but it's taken from the TouchFLO 3.0 (dunno what you mean with "smooth flow In scrolling that 6.5 has", but I don't see any difference between the TF3.0 flow and the WM6.5 one).
I understand you posted a question in hopes of fixing the problem in your rom. Sorry I can't be of some help with that. The ROM sounds like a winner though and I am anxious to try. Thank you for your response and good luck fixing the issue.
I fixed it God bless XDA ;D

Searching for a pure 6.5.3 Update

Hello folks,
I appriciate the hard work of all the chiefs. The Roms a most of the time close to perfect.
But, since they are usually customized by the chiefs, they are not 100 % that what I am looking for.
This is why am asking now, if one of chiefs could just bring out a pure windows mobile 6.5.3. update with only the basic stuff in it.
This might be an idea for the other windows versions as well, as some people prefer 6.5.or 6.1 versions.
I thank you folks in advance, if someone eventualy comes up with that rom.
Cheers
Jens
100% pure would mean the camera would not work
the optical "joystick" would not work and the led's would not work
everything that x1 got that is not "normal" wm is a customisation
Well,
let me then adjust:
It would be nice, ifit is a rom as pure as possible, with all the basic features as there is the camera, joystick, led etc.
It should not have other software , like panels, widgets, themes etc.
This would be me request.
OR, if possible, having a software, that would allow me to delete all the precooked stuff that I do not need.
Anya, this is only an idea. Maybe on of the things is possible.
Cheers
jens
I think Christian's clean 6.5.3 ROM is pretty close to what you are hoping for.
Well, I have that one on my X1 right now,
and you are right: It is the closest I can get right now. But there is still a whole lot of MB used in that rom. About 135 Mb. It has alot of themes ands applications in it.
If I look at gtrabs pure 6.5 beta version, which has only about70 MB size.
This is why I suppose, that the 6.5.3 Version could be reduced to a minimum.
This is why I hope, somebody would upload a very pure verison.
Cheers
Jens

I have it on the X1 right now, but that rom is unfourtunatly packed with software which I do not need.
Is there a way to get rid of the unneeded software? Like deleting themes and panelmanager. It is not listed in the "remove software" section.
Nevertheless, the rom is quite fast, though not as fast as christians rom is.
@ st-mark: isn't sutys roms a 6.5 rom and not a 6.5.3 rom? I thought he has the windows start button on top and not at the bottom.

Well, I tried Sutys Roms and the 826x Rom
The 826x Rom was acually pretty nice. It was quite fast and stable, even though it was loaded with a lot of other software. People who like the X2 Stuff should have a lock at that one. (the 826x was marked as a 6.5.5 Rom)
The size of the Rom was about 136 MB as far as I remember.
Compared to Christians Rom I felt, that Christians Rom was a bit more fluent, but almost no difference in Speed and Stayability. The 826x Rom has a different Software package. There were some nice apps included like powerradio, and some other stuff I haven't seen before. So the 826x is worth a try, though it has a lot of software included.
Sutys Basic Rom was a little problematic for me. I had troubles with the screen turning off after waking the device up. This happens two to three times and then I got to the homescreen.
This procedure happend often (well, often: I used the rom for about 8 hours . Suty wrote, that this might have been because of the SmartLock Programm. I do not know if other users had the same problem.
Besides that it went quite fast, though in my eyes not as fast as Christians Rom. And there were still some apps I would not have needed.
Finally Sutys Lite Rom:
That one is for me right now the optimal rom. It does not have a lot of fancy apps included. In fact, more or less only the basic and needed stuff to get the X1 working (Including camera etc.).
The Rom Size is about 70 MB or less, as far as I remember.
It is really fast and stayable. No problems yet with this Rom. (Only one activesync thing, but that was not caused by the rom, but by my desktop).
If one needs a real clean and light version, Sutys lite Rom is the one I would recommend.
Cheers
Jens

I'm using Sutys Lite Rom too.
And I met a battery trouble, described at the page#13.
I wonder if you have the same? Or may be some of my software spoils?

Build 28205 had battery trouble on X1.
It's my conclusion after...
Reading many posts here..
Testing few X1 Build 28205 roms..
For example...
On Christian 28205 build rom (version 3.904) in 12 hours, phone lost 49% of battery (sleep time, all things off, etc.), but on build 23518 (version 4.001) battery works fine for me now (still testing).
Something unbelievable
On the last two days my batteries drained totally in ~16 hours.
Today I used phone in the same intensivity, but I have ~40% else at the end of the day. Fantastic! I'm going to renovate the ROM and use it for few days with NO third-pary software installed.
Sorry for my English too ;-)
PS: Take a look at my last message at the subject thread.

I kinnda disagree...the 4.001 also drains the battrey...i installed it for a day, charged it 100%..went for a bath, came back and saw after a couple of messages and 1 call, the battry was 86%....so, yea the battrey issue still persists...but now im looking forward for a WinMo 6.7..

Noob here...

hi i just got this phone and i love it. i have read a lot about upgrading the rom, but all these seperate roms confuse the heck out of me . there is no such thing as the best rom. u will have to find out by your self flashing all the different roms you are interested in and test them out if they fit your needs. i think christians rom is a good start. its fast and he offers different versions.
all your data (except those on the sd card) will be lost. but there are programs to back them up.
Ok, thanks. Going to try out a few now, just got the phone Hard SPLed or whatever (neardly died of a heart attack when it stuck at the bootloader and the program failed... just ran the program again and it worked phew lol). Thank you

you can back up your contacts/SMS/email, etc. with PIMBackup, SPB backup, or Microsoft MyPhone before you flash so you won't lose your data

I'm in the same boat.
What ROM did you eventually go with? Are you impressed with the result?
I have tried alot of different roms, however I have one clear preference.
IMO the best Windows 6.5 Rom is this one: http://826x.blogspot.com/
I would get the version without HTC Sense.
I am currently running the "ROM 826X Windows Mobile 6.5.5 build 23519" version, and am getting 2-3 days battery life with moderate day to day use.
ANY other 6.5 rom that I have tried has been 1-1.5 days, however these have all been HTC Sense / TF3D roms.
If you do not mind about battery life then the Agent_47 / itje / NRGZ28 roms are all excellent, and offer additional eye candy.
Happy flashing.
i've been getting 2 days battery out of the latest agent roms! thats with sense 2.5 on too!

Just briefly - what is HTC sense & TF3D?
I could probably find this out myself if I google, but I'm being lazy.

I've been looking at Agent_47's Valkyrie Rom just because it has the most page views.

I'm in the same boat.
What ROM did you eventually go with? Are you impressed with the result?

Tried Christian'd clean one and I thought it was ok, currently using the xperia x1.5 one and i like it, but im going to try some of the fancier ones before i settle.
Hey buddy, I was very much like you sometime back(a couple of months, to be precise) but if u want a plain ROM 6.5 just like ur current 6.1...then the best is Spike's Unoff...NOT the 1.5, it again has some goodies...http://pocketnow.com/html/portal/news/0000008936//xasense.jpeg
this is ur HTC Sense UI, 2.5 build...if u want this, then u wont have the basic 6.5 look..because ur home screen wil be like this..hope it helps, if u have any worries, PM me..CHEERS!

^ good advice. It's a nice ROM.
Do you know how to resize pictures for MMS? My 6.1 ROM gave me the option to compress a picture before added it to the message. 826X's ROM Doesn't.
just a suggestion: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6114197&postcount=88
I've settled with the Energy ROM, but am now trying the 23554 build to see if it's any better. With my extended life battery, I get upto a week of casual texting, and it's got HTC Sense 2.5 which I would now insist on having on the phone at all times
Thanks for the replies guys

First thing to save battery life in the NRG ROMs is to set the backlight settings. That can save a lot of battery.....

I'm currently using 23545 (non manila). I really like it. I'd like to try the Energy ROM, but I don't like manila. Plus, swapping ROMs every few days gets tiresome.

^ cancel request. Managed to find the menu to decrease picture size for MMS. Blairingly obvious too - MMS option, Photo resolution, VGA.

NRG also offers a Titanium (non-manila) version of his ROMs, look in the Sense 2.1 download folder....
