three replacement splashes for mytouch

here are three replacement splash images I made for the mytouch
all you need to do is to copy the image you want to flash to your sdk tools directory and hook up your phone is fastboot mode. Turn phone off press and hold back and power and then connect usb cable and run the following command.
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 image.rgb565
just replace the word image above with the name of the file that you have and then use
Code:
fastboot reboot
enjoy new splash

im still a little confused....

What are you confused about? All it is, is a replacement splash screen. The screen that you see the first when the phone is powering up. All you do is extract to the SDK/tools folder on your computer from the android sdk that should be installed on your computer. Start the phone is fastboot like i mentioned above and the type the commands. with a more direct example say you want the middle one, once you have extracted and done the other steps (if you are unsure of above search around the forum there are steps elsewhere)
the command for the middle image is
fastboot flash splash1 badtouch.rgb565
fastboot reboot
and then that image will be your new splash screen on the device. very simple.

Sounds like you still have the original locked spl. You will need to flash a unlocked spl to do this. Just look at the how to root unroot MyTouch thread. It goes over the how to.

Help! Cant boot g1 after "danger spl"

I updated my phone's SPL to "Danger SPL" and now my phone wont turn back on! I press power and the black Android screen with the little green android next to it comes up but wont boot my phone! The only thing I can do is get the white screen with the 3 android's skateboarding by pressing camera + power.
Ontop of that, I had tried to update my phone's recovery image too, and I erased the old one and now it would let me upload the NEW one! So not only do I have NO PHONE but NO RECOVERY either!
What do I do!? HELP!

can you get into fastboot? (back+power)
if you can, get adb running and flash your recovery image with fastboot

you are gonna have to fast boot in the screen with the three androids on it, either a rom or a recovery
guess you betta learn how to use adb

Yea I can get into fastboot, thats the ONLY thing I can get into. How do I flash my recovery image?

boot your phone into fastboot. plug in your usb cable to your pc. this should change the fastboot icon on the screen to fastboot usb. from there, load up adb on your pc and make sure you have the fastboot option available by typing fastboot devices. it should list your phone. once that is good, type:
fastboot flash recovery and the correct name of your recovery file.
for example:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.2.3.img
**also note...put the recovery image in your android sdk\tools folder**
this should give you a recovery to boot into.

I did that already, it wont work.

i am gonna be the one to ask this question but did you put .s between 123 like 1.2.3.

you need to be in the tools directory, not the android directory.
c:\Android\tools>fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.2.3.img

and you need the recovery file IN your tools folder for it to be found as well.

No I didn't put .'s between each number I renamed my file recovery123.img so thats the way I put it in.

ok, so go to the correct directory and input what you had the first time, WITH the file IN that same folder. and then report back.

i justed rename my recovery the shortest way i can like for amon ra"s i just put amon, less typing is always better

It says C:\Android\tools is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

from your c:\> prompt type this:
cd c:\android\tools
(this is assuming you have the android sdk in the c:\android folder on your pc)
if it is saying its not a folder, then that is not where you installed the android sdk.

This is not true. You can have it anywhere as long as you can cd to it and you have your fastboot.exe in the system32 folder.

First thing is first. I'm betting that you don't have the new ADB driver for the Danger SPL.

Whatever recovery file you're trying to use rename it to "recovery.img" and put it on C:\ then open command prompt (start > run > cmd > enter)
cd c:\
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and it should show a progress bar in the top right corner.
While the dos screen shows 'sending' and then 'writing'.
After you see ...done a second time then type:
fastboot reboot
and it should reboot just fine... but you may need to do that "3 finger solute" (talk, end, menu) while holding the camera button down to get into your recovery. You should be able to flash your rom. Just make sure the rom doesn't have a radio update (unless it's the 2.22.19.26I).

No problem. I just hate it when something this simple drags onto multple pages. Call it a peev. So many people get intimidated by the "Danger SPL" because they don't want to risk bricking their phones. The odds of bricking your phone are extremely small if you follow directions and read everything. And sure the possibility of accomplishing this by different means exists. But when you try to tell someone to put this file in that folder and type in the full names of the files to include all the dots and dashes, it's going to get confusing and intimidating and thus these posts keep popping up.
If someone follows those very short and simple directions they shouldn't have any problems. Granted that "**** happens" and things don't always go as they should. So in that case, search for your answer. If you've searched on XDA then search Google. Out of the MILLIONS of G1's that have been sold, I am fairly certain that someone out there has had a similar problem. If not then you and your phone are literally "1 in a million" (technically it was 1 in 1.5 million a year ago so you can bet that it's well over 2 if not 3 million by now). And if you really fall into that catagory then please post a new thread (in the appropriate catagory of course) .

well the good news is u didnt brick ur phone but try a enter adb and do a nadroid back up if u hav 1 that will bring u back 2 the way u want it

either flash a nadroid or flash dreaming.nbh....i had the same problem and a nadroid worked just fine

Help! changing boot screen!

I've been reading a lot,i have a mytouch3g,already changed the spl,now i have i.33.2005 on it,on the device manager of my computer apears the ANDROID BOOTLOADER INTERFACE,when i go to command prompt on my computer and start typing `fastboot splash blah blah blah' and hit enter,it says that fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file,i have yhe sdk,usb driver instaled already!!thanks for any help!

1) you need to have fastboot.

2) unzip and put that into the SDK/tools.
3) use command prompt to get into your SDK tools folder.
Have your splash file in the tools folder aswell, now you can run fastboot from C:\SDK\tools from the command prompt

Help with framework-res.apk & animated logo
I've got replacement images for the animated logo that is the 2nd boot screen, attached, but I can't seem to resign the framework-res.apk file the right way because I keep getting stuck with a black screen after it plays the boot animation.
I'm looking for someone who can take these images and make me a framework-res.apk that will work on Cyanogen 4.2.6 on a 32b MyTouch. Any takers??

Hi everyone.
This is a tool written in JAVA for easier flashing of the following partitions:
Radio, hboot/spl, recovery, system, boot, userdata, kernel and splash.
It can do much more, like:
Conversion of 24bit BMP images to ready-to-flash splash files.
Erase/wipe multiple or single partitions.
Reboot device either to system or fastboot.
Print of device info.
Flash of kernel.
Possible to run custom fastboot commands instead of using cmd/shell.
Flash of signed zip files (E.g. fastboot flash zip myzip.zip)
The above(Flash of signed zip) should not to be confused with flashing of custom rom files!
It's only meant for signed HTC roms with complete system layout.
Flash multiple files in one click by using custom folders and tags.
It's basically a GUI over most fastboot commands.
It works for Windows, Linux and Mac.
No need for Android SDK, the jar-file has all needed files bundled!
It's well tested and have more than +10000 users.
It works for all devices which has fastboot :0)

That is not correct...
The javaw.exe command is identical to java.exe, except that with javaw.exe there is no associated console window.

it seems that there is an issue with the splash screen creation. It fails on Mac/Linux and windows.
I've managed fixing this on Mac/Linux by renaming nbimg to nbimg.exe in the Tools folder.

As stated in the OP, this feature is only for Windows for now... i have not bundled the Linux binaries with this version...
But, if you have those versions (Specially for mac, i cannot test that feature) i will very much have those sent to me... I will PM you :0)

Try to install the newest java... it should also make sure that java is in your system path..

Sprint Zio stuck in Fastboot is a BRICK? (Quick GUIDE to fix))

Does this mean its bricked? Can't get into any other thing other than fastboot.
Lol but I just fixed it a few minutes ago. Was just wondering because If it is a brick. I will make a thread showing a how to Unbrick Sprint Zio.
GUIDE TO UNBRICK SOFT BRICK SPRINT ZIO
1. Know which Zio it is. (This guide was made using a soft brick Sprint Zio MIGHT WORK ON CRICKET.)
2. Install the necessary Zio drivers for your PC. Kyocera and Cricket have different ones. Also figure out which bit of windows you are running. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I couldn't install any drivers, but I got it to work nonetheless.
3. Download the STOCK Rom for your phone.
4. Move that folder to your DESKTOP. Makes everything a lil bit easier.
5. I renamed my folder to ziosprint, but you can name it whatever you like.
6. Make sure you have 3 files other than your STOCK rom image files. They should be in the SAME folder too. The 3 files are: AdbWinApi.dll, AdbWinUsbApi.dll, and a fastboot file.
7. Once everything is ready. Open up command prompt. For me I just click start button (windows icon) then typed "cmd" hit ENTER.
8. You should see a window with the words something similar to this "C:\Users\Administration>"
9. Next type cd desktop then hit enter, then cd ziosprint (same as above) hit enter, then type in fastboot hit enter. A bunch of options should come up. Last type fastboot devices. If you get a "?" dont worry it'll still work, for that's what I got. If you get something else like a bunch of words cool! If you get an error you did something wrong.
10. Assuming you've done everything correctly. Now it's time to put your phone in fastboot. Once your in fastboot all you need to do is connect it via USB and type the following.
NOTE: (name of boot follow by extension type) example: fastboot flash boot (boot image name).img SO this is what it should look like for example. If ;your image file name is boot you can just leave it as that.
Fastboot flash boot zioboot.img Do this for all of the Image Files.
Fastboot erase system
Fastboot erase boot
Fastboot erase recovery
Fastboot erase userdata
Fastboot flash boot
Fastboot flash system
Fastboot flash recovery
Fastboot reboot
I had a Splash.img file too, so I flashed that too
Fastboot flash splash splash.img
That's it! You're DONE :}
PS: My first guide. I made it really quick, and I hope I didn't leave anything out. I hope it all makes sense and be of help to all that needs it.
