Skin the google search widget - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

Does anyone know how to skin the google search widget?
Since adding google voice search the widget has turned white and id like to get the black transparent one back.

where to get google voice search, cant find it in market..

the google one was always white.
the black one is the HTC Search widget. they created a black one to match the theme of the touchflo.

I find it kind of pointless having a search widget, when there's a search hardkey.

kind of a waste of homescreen estate when you can just press the search key and have a search bar drop down from the status bar to type in to.

exactly

Its an "Iconic Symbol"
The Google Search Widget is rather an "Iconic Symbol/Logo" denoting the legendary "Android OS Homescreen"...We all know its not of much use though...

The Old HTC Hero Clock widget

Does anyone know where to get the old clock widget that would let the analog clock flip down?
You should add fact 13.
13. Use search button.
I agree, use serarch button, but I'll still answer that for you "lazy" people.
There's an widget called "Weather Widget donation" or "Beautiful widgets pack 1".
signature line 12 is wrong.

Well maybe I didn't make myself clear. Im looking for an old clockwidget.apk that would allow clock widget to flip down. I've already looked so if you dare want to try that noob bs with me to make yourself feel better go to another thread I just need help. I know that they are optimized so they can't anymore but since the hero roms are so fast now I wanted to see if one would work well.

HTC Widgets without Hero ROM

I've searched and searched and haven't come up with a definite answer.
Can the HTC Widgets be used on Cyanogen, or any non-Hero ROM?
No.
Definite enough?
No, short answer, the hero widgets were built for rosie/sense whatever you want to call it, basically it's another home replacement app. Widgets are not compatible with standard launcher.
Like above the answer is no. Although there are a few widgets on the market that look like the htc wigdets.
Beautiful Widgets-Digital Clock Widget
Contact Bar- People bar
Pure Grid Calender- Calender Widget
Pure Messenger Widget- Email/Message Widget
Damn, all I really wanted was the peep twitter widget, but I'll live I guess haha
Use Twidgit Lite!
I've always wondered since a Home Replacement is basically a stand alone app, and widgets on the standard sdk can't be animated like the hero's in most cases.
Couldn't we just make a HR that runs applications as widgets type of thing.
Like if anyones run a pulse rom and used taskiller you'll see it's cards widgets or whatever it's called running and working with sense UI styles.
I don't see why we can't just run touchflo on cyanogen... most Hero ROMs are based on 1.5 right now, so... hmmm

Thanks! Found it! However, with the limitations it imposes (not able to scroll and have more than 4 contacts) I think I will pass on this one, for now. Dev states they are working on a solution for that, once found, it would be worth the purchase for me.
I have purchased many apps, especially the Pure apps (Calendar widget, Grid calendar widget and Messenger widget) that help make the phone look/perform nicely.
Keep up the great work Dev's!

Also known as touchflo. Download a taskmanger and see what the process is called...

Photo Album & Bookmarks widgets?
Might there be alternatives to these HTC widgets that I'd be able to use on my 1.6 based g1?

This what I am trying to figure out. So I posted here asking if there certain things "built-into" the phone that was used to make Calendar popup. Like is there some "shortcut" that causes this. It seems like I touch something on my phone screen and it pops up just not sure what I have done.
Thanks

Are you using a custom launcher or TouchWiz? On LauncherPro, you can customize a swipe action on the dock icons. Only thing I can think of is IF you were using a custom launcher and a swipe action was set to open Calendar.

Do you have a clock widget that also displays the date? If you do, they usually default to the calendar application when you touch the date, and the clock application with you touch the time.

Thanks that was it. I have Beautiful Widget Clock and Touching one area makes the Calendar pop-up.

Is there any way to remove the white search bar on my device? I am searching the web but the only answers i can find is change launchee or disable every google service... My device is rooted so if there is anything alse advice me please
Disable Google search bar where? on the recent apps menu or home screen?
Home Screen: Change launcher
Recent apps: use a custom rom that lets you disable it (e.g. Chroma)

Remove persistent Google search bar

I've been looking through the settings on my Lenovo Zuk Z2 plus for days, but I cannot find a way to REMOVE GOOGLE SEARCH BAR from all pages of my homescreen. Please help me to get rid of it! Long-press on it has no effect like regular widgets so can't drag and drop it.

It's the stock interface that came with the phone. Long press on the search bar does not select it. Long press anywhere on the wallpaper opens the widgets, wallpaper and settings, but what further? I cannot find the option to turn it off in the settings either. I can't believe it's so hard.
