Do Hero Roms support bluetooth now? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am using CM4.0.4 and I am attracted by the usability of Hero so I would like to have a try of Hero Roms.
However, I knew that Hero Roms' bluetooth is broken before.
Is it working now?
Which one is better for G1?

No they dont
and i recommend ether
Jacxhero ski or
MLIGN hero

if bluetooth worked the OP of every hero post would have it written in amazingly large flashing letters.

So many hero rom's, still no bluetooth?

I really appreciate all the developers for there hard work. I just dont understand why they make back to back hero roms, slightly better then the other, still with no bluetooth. They all appear to be fast. I'm not posting this to discuss the speed of one hero rom vs another, but seriously. Let get that bluetooth working!
go check out towards the last few pages of the bluetooth in hero thread the shafty023 (can't recall exact digits) started, bluetooth works in the mytouch, but not in the dream, despite them having almost similar hardware, there is a slight difference in the bluetooth (or something) chip that is causing it not to work on the dream but in the mytouch. that thread explains it a lot better than i can.
its not that people don't want to get it working, its just very hard and doesn't actually pay as opposed to other things that do.
I've gone back to trusty Donuts, currently WG Build Y2.6 - btw, great work guys! - but I'm still looking for my HERO. Such a great accomplishment with all development attempts, monkeying around to achieve variety of flavors.
But no sound via bluetooth is a deal breaker for me. I have yet to find ONE hero that would give mytouch the sound via bluetooth.

Confused on which rom to follow.

Now that the whole Cyanogen deal happened I've been having a hard time finding the perfect donut release to follow. Any suggestions? Also what would you guys say to be the most stable Hero to be used day to day at this current time?
This is in the wrong section, but I use KingxKxKlick 1.9
Wrong section....
Yes, this definitely in the wrong section, check out Q&A instead. Soon a mod will fix this, but keep it up, and you'll be temp banned.
That said, CyanMod is still an excellent, stable, fast Donut build. If you're looking to try Hero, I have used about a dozen, and Kingklick's is easily the best, and since about 1.7 has been completely stable--no swap partition or cpu overclocking needed, and it's still so fast it's just disgusting.
Cyanogen is still actively developing his ROM. I would suggest following him on twitter.. @cyanogen
I would suggest that you just keep using Cyanogen. If you have too much trouble installing, just install this version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569825
In theory, once installed, you can just install Cyan's official updates when he releases them.
With Hero ROMs, I found that in EVERY Hero release people claim its THE best Hero ROM available, so you gonna have to do some flashing to find out for yourself.
Now I use Hero3G UNI, others swear by Evil Hero 3.0 and MLIGN-HeroV2.5.5. These 3 ROM will need different and most likely customized user.conf settings. For Hero3G I found 196 swap w/100 swappiness and CC OFF works best. For Evil Hero you also need 196 swap partition.

There are some that are good, but some are the best. It all depends on how it runs on your device and how you config the user.conf.
Just remember, even with Donut, Hero ROMs have a lot of bells and whistles, but still lack core function like BT or Google Voice Support.
Cyan is my recommendation, and cyan is hinting at a very very soon update.
If you want to play with a new toy, try Motoblur, just be aware it lacks wifi.
it all depends on you. right now we have 3 working roms not including the pulse rom.
original android by cyanogen, [everything works]
hero by about 8 people (htcs own google ui), [bluetooth doesnt work, also im noticing flash doesnt either.]
blur [stable but slow, but good for social networks, no wifi]
just download the 3 different roms and test em out, dont just test one hero rom tho test em all and find what you like. but please do post in the q&a.

Google Voice works fine for me on KingKlick's 1.9...
Also, some other Hero threads claim to have bluetooth working, but I have tried them and keep going back to KingKlick because they are all too slow.
I also wouldn't recommend MotoBLUR yet, unless you are very experienced and want to help the devs. It's still waaay experimental, way more than just wifi doesn't work.
But all the Hero/Blur/experimental stuff aside, if you just want a good, stable, feature-rich, fast ROM, stick with Cyanogen. Hate to be so blunt, but he is simply the best.

Oh Nice! You can use it with the normal dialer? Not through contacts?
i've been using enomther's donut rom. seems to be working very nicely. haven't used cyan's 'newest' rom because he kept saying 4.2 was around the corner and I kept waiting. Last week also said he had some updates for the .999 build and was going to add another 9, but never released it. Also enom's rom has a hero theme addon for his latest release. Whereas nabzilla is also waiting on cyan's 4.2 to release an updated theme for that.

Dude why u being an ass u r not a moder to treat some1 with perm ban, I think they can deal with this with out.
But yea Cyans roms r good but its been running kinda slow for me so I started flashing
hero roms I tried a few and so far Mlign's worked the best for me. its something u have to find out for urself

Is there any hero ROMs with donut or bluetooth??????

Looking to see if theres a build of hero with bluetooth of donut..... I heard no build of hero has bluetooth but I would like to know why.
Hero ROM's = NO BT. Trust me you'll know when it happens. Its an issue of running a ROM with different hardware than what it's intended for. They just got the LED's fully functioning (which is a huge feat)
Why is that?

O ok thanks for clearing that up but how about a rom with donut?

LIke a hero ROM with donut? Not yet, I haven't actually seen this mentioned (It broke CoPilot for me so I don't care)
afaik the heros that are out there are only built off of cupcake. if the build was based off of donut or had bluetooth, the dev would be more than sure to let the world know

MT3G vs G1 Hardware/ROM

Is there that much difference in design that makes the G1 harder to create ROMs for? I'm just surprised when I looked into their ROM development thread and saw they had fully working Hero ROMs with everything working (BT especially).
If there is a Hero ROM for the G1 that has everything working please link me? The main reason I haven't used the Hero ROMs for our G1s is because I use BT when driving (stupid CA laws).
If there are G1 ROMs that can work for MT3G, can someone port some of their fully working ROMs to the G1? Someone might suggest I just go out and get a Hero or MT3G, but I love having a hardware keyboard.
Just my curiosity at work.
there is a lengthy discussion thread based on this in the development forum

best daily use HERO ROM

Hey guys, I am a bit tired of donut 1.6 and would like to jump up to hero (because 2.0 is pretty much a dead os, and 2.1 is not at the stage where its dialy use)
I am wondering what your favourite hero rom is (hopefully with a link).
Are there any hero roms which are still updated, and have any hero roms. Come to the point where they are suitable for daily use?
I like MLIGN's with 96mb swap on a class 6 sd, but you just have to try them out for yourself.
I know there is mglin and sense hero. Is eclair hero, hero or eclair?
A hero rom is basically a rom with a custom UI that HTC calls sense.
Most of the hero roms here are based on android 1.5 (Cupcake) Like MLIGN's.
Eclair hero is android 2.1 (or 2.0, but I am pretty sure it is 2.1) with HTC's sense UI. I have no experience using this rom.
Lol "Jump up to hero" From a 1.6 ROM?
more like fall down a huge cliff but yeah MLIGN is one of the best ways to go.
running V3.3 now and loving it.
lol, i havent tried a hero rom and would need to make my own kernal for it so i wanted to know which was the best before jumping in, i guess ill go with that one then.
What exactly do you mean by jumping down rather than up, i know the speed will be less what else?

Nah its that you said you wanna jump up to a Hero rom that's not 2.1 from a 1.6 rom.Normal hero Rom's are 1.5 so its more like jumping down then up. there arent really many differences. Hero ROM's are pretty quick so that's not gunna be an issue.

I like jcarzz more. although its bugging me out all of a sudden!
Personally, I had bad luck with MLIGN. But maybe that's just me. It ran fine for awhile, then I started getting random freezeups and reboots up the ass. Tried a wipe and reflash, ext repair, etc, but alas, no luck. But I'm also running a Class 2 SD card so maybe that's what did me in. I'm sure MLIGN is a great ROM
I'm using SenseHero 1.4, with BFS 300 + RAM Hack, and so far I'm nothing but pleased . No random lockups or reboots yet, everything's veryy smooth and I haven't had the loadscreen for Rosie come up at all yet (aside from initial boot, of course).
Current continuous uptime is at something like 15 hours right now (my battery died this morning - I've been using the ROM for a few days now).
Bottom line though -- ya just gotta try em and find what works best for you.
I'd say top contenders are MLIGN, SenseHero, Jac's Hero, and King's Eclair Hero.
