[ROM Dec 18] MoDaCo Custom ROM for Blackstone 1.08.12.17 - IE6(!), CF3.5, UC + more

So here's a custom WWE (English) ROM rom for the Blackstone, created it for my own use to try out IE6 and thought y'all might like to have a play!
It's based on the 1.19 Asian ROM.
Changes...
- Added IE6 Mobile!
- Changed IE6 Mobile default search to Google
- Added official MS build of Flash Lite
- Added .net CF 3.5
- Added Remote Desktop Mobile
- Added AppToDate
- Added Batti (with main battery meter disabled)
- Added Donate
- Added 'Blackstone Additions' performance tuning (AppToDate compatible)
- Added Business Card Reader from Euro ROMs
- Added RSSHub from Euro ROMs
- Added MoDaCo News and MoDaCo Podcast to RSS Hub defaults
- Added Google Map from Euro ROMs
- Added TouchResponse (uninstallable)
- Removed Windows Update
- Removed Welcome Center
- Removed MS Sample Music
- Removed .net CF 2.0
- Using JBlend JVM
- Changed Opera 9.5 and skin to be uninstallable
- UC Compatible
Known issues:
None as yet Be aware that if you are on T-Mobile, the auto config puts in a proxy that screws a number of things up. Immediately after completing the wizard, hit up settings -> connections -> connections and disable the proxy!
Update format:
- Custom RUU - ensure you have HardSPL installed from here first! You can also install by extracting the EXE with WinRAR (PC) / Betterzip (MAC), renaming ruu_signed.nbh to BLACIMG.NBH, placing it in the root of your storage card then turning on your device with the volume button held down. Handy for mac users like myself...

iplayer, youtube, IE 6 on HD
Using wifi -
youtube - works but is grainy probably due to quality of video. little jumpy and seemed smeared when objects moved. still great to see it work within browser. Ability to go full screen too. When doing this it just uses 1/2 screen still.
iplayer - starts to load but so far unable to get video playing.. just keeps loading. Very close.. to being very cool.
Hulu - still states must be in USA so no suprises.
In general IE 6 is as slow as it ever was maybe a little faster. As soon as you get to a heavy site like bbc.co.uk it takes an age to load.
Maybe future performance tweaks will help it render pages quicker? I'm no expert.
May try others later but so far will stick to opera. BTW.. UK ! Opera now works with Iplayer out the box. Just hope BBC will increase video quality as it looks nasty on the HD screen.

Funny, I would have thought that there would be more interest in this ROM. I flashed it last night and it's running great on my Shadow.

I think there is interest, they just don't bother posting here since its just a thread with a link to another thread. All the support for this is at AllShadow.

BAD as in good? Or BAD as in totally sucks? I think it's pretty good, although other than the menus being larger I can't see any huge difference from WM 6.1. Oh, and the IE6 on 6 or whatever the new browser really is bad as in not good.

this is such a beautiful upgrade, i wanted to say that first, but for some reason my ActiveSync doesnt work anymore! i used it for the upgrade, and then i tried to hook it up again to put my files back on, and it just shoes the charging indicator. HELP!

I successfully updgraded my JUNO to WM6.5 but I have some problem on my keys.
Here's some of the issues:
On the SMS if I enter the 9 it will go to SYSTEM with volume gauge
SMS window upon typing my message and disable the T9 then "num" it will open address book automatically
SMS window space key automatically enter "[email protected]" character.

But i wonder to know if you got T9 in turkish ?? it is a big lost for me?

This rom is pretty sick but my earpiece no longer works. My speaker is fine and it's actually the only way I can hear others. I don't know if maybe a driver got damaged or if my speaker crapped out coincidentally at the same time I flashed the rom. Good thing this is not my primary phone. Anyone else have this issue?

MP3 Ringtones don't work - WHY WHY WHY??? is there a fix for this?
weather tab causes HTC Sense to crash.

Try to tap on the clock on your hometab to get to the WorldClock, click back and the weathertab should work....will try to find a fix for this.

Put the mp3-file in the root of your memorycard, then choose it from Sounds & Notifications.

I have cooked in a better version of EZinput, so it should work now.

anybody encountered problems when launching Opera 9.5? It takes forever to load, even just after hard reset. thanks.

I really don't get it !!.....this rom si excellent but for me its far from usable for several problems......what I really dun get is why none of the expert chefs seems to consider cooking a 6.1 leo.....if this rom had some of errors in settings and video playback fixed it'd be the perfect rom....ppl need to try this to feel the speed difference !!

The speed is quite amazing I found with WinMo 6.1 and Manila 2.5.
I don't understand why so many people have said that 2.5 doesn't work on 6.1. It does. It just needs some experiences chefs to iron out the bugs.
WinMo 6.5 has really grown on me. However, the speed of Manila 2.5 on WinMo 6.1 is actually very good.
I wish some of the chefs would see this =(

Good ROM and very smooth but why i youtube is not cooked in? I install it but it's not working "This video cannot be played" why??

This is a very stable and fast Manila 2.5 ROM!
Faster than 6.5 I think
Bugs I've noticed:
- Opera is not able to start
- HTCAlbum does not play any videos
- Camera button starts camera app, but you cant use it to focus / take a picture
- When you change in HTC Sms to landscape, the screen does not fit properly
Other things that might be my fault:
- The language of the hardware keys can't be changed properly. I edited the regkey to 407 (german). y became z but symbols are still wrong.
- you cannot disable 3G

Then use JDownloader, and have some patience. It works.

I just downloaded it through the given link (RapidShare), it is so slow, but i use FlashGet to download it.
Finished the download after 40 minutes, it is slow but just be patience rather than nothing at all.
And haven't tried the ROM though, still trying other ROM.

Version 2 brought FAST YOUTUBE AND ALBUM PLAYER AND WHOLE SYSTEM SPEEDUP! Not to mention fixed stuff!
After many months of Kaiser and playing with TP2 I finally made it to Rhodium's public release.
My ROMs won't be for everybody. Why? They will be pretty stripped!
After first boot, you have over 300MB free ROM and about 115MB RAM!

You might ask, why is my ROM special? Because of two things:
1 - it's done by ME
2 - It uses old Manila 2,1 aka TouchFLO3D - the one before Sense came out. There are no fx, so it is FAST AS HELL compared to any Sense

For some unknown reason, the default ringtone wouldn't work, so I cabbed it up and added to first. Install it or you won't have ringtone sound till then, sorry

I didn't have this problem? I had a call immediately after flashing and the ringtone was working. I just rang it again to make sure and it's fine.

Uh? File trasnfers over BT aren't working? This is haunting me since Kaiser, I had there the same problem.

I am loving the speed of this ROM by far the fastest of any rom that i can remember! can someone post a the autoconnection cab? and how do i access MMS i can not send any pictures or have the option too. Also every time i reset my phone all my emails that i deleted come back. thanks in advance for any help.
