Thanks. Not too concerned about the Radio if it isnt hard to Flash. Is it true you have to do a SIM Unlock to flash a Radio? I looked at the top of the Radio Thread and it doesnt mention it.
What Radio will any of you ATT users who Flash this, use?

Anyone try this? If so, and you have ATT, what Radio will you be using? Also, can someone confirm if a SIM Unlock is required to flash a Radio

Well done
Bravo! Can anyone cab up the ATT Dialer with Video Share from this ROM

Sim Unlock required to flash a Topaz radio. Check radio thread. I am using 4.49.25.17. No SIM unlock required for that one. Just HardSPL.

Thanks. You have no problems with using that Radio I take it? My stock was 4.48.25.20.

Thanks Eras2r. It works.

Thanks Eras2r! It worked for me too.
Now if I could only get the Topaz 4.48.25.20 radio loaded up - in theory the rilphone.dll is already on the AT&T ROM so it should work.
I have HardSPL and unlocked sim. Yet, the Topaz radio will not load for me. Any ideas how to get it to load?

Not SIM unlocked, it has to be SECURITY unlocked if you want to flash a non-Rhodium radio. If you want a Rhodium radio, only HardSPL is needed.
Check this thread for more info on how to security unlock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555339

I am SECURITY unlocked - I've done the HardSPL thing and can load ROMs, Radios, etc. without a problem. I am also sim unlocked, but I guess that isn't required.
I still cannot load the Topaz radio on to my Tilt 2 though.

Any word on if/when the splashscreen upon bootup will be included or if you can go back to the stock SPL?

this build is very stable (i installed it on my tilt 2). Wierd thing tho is that the HTC Youtube app is missing.

....so you purchased the complete unlocker package from olipro WITH the security unlock included?? If not, you may not be security unlocked. When in bootloader mode, does it say "security unlocked" on top of the screen?

Security unlock, SIM unlock, and HardSPL are 3 different things. Unless you purchased the complete package from Olipro as mentioned in the thread (or were given a code directly), you won't be able to flash a radio from a different model of phone.
SIM unlock = use of SIMs other than the carrier locked ones
HardSPL = use of other ROMs, as well as other Rhodium-SPECIFIC radios
Security unlock = use of radios from other phone models (such as Topaz)

Thanks so much OP
still cannot get the whole package with rom radio huh? I guess I will wait longer. Too itchy to try different rom. ahhhh

I thought so too. It certainly won't work on mine since it is an HTC and not a Dopod. I wonder if we could use the same novenderID installer used with the Prophet and just install extracted the files? I suppose the trinity could need a new version. What do you think?

It's not possible to do a _noID utility for Trinity AFAIK. CID is checked by bootloader, and rom upgrades use NBH format.

This news is very depressing. That means that people with an HTC device will never be able to use Dopod ROMs or cook up new ROMS, for instance the GPS enabled? That's no fun. Maybe we just have to get the Trinity unlocked?
yes, you need to cid unlock it to do such thing. Is exactly the same thing as happens with hermes.

I didn't mean to use Hermes CID unlocker on trinity, that would definitely brick the device because it flashes a wrong radio.
You guys need to work together to develop a method to CID unlock the trinity, but this will take some time, first you have to gather info about the device and post it in the wiki... bootloader part is most important.
Hi, anyone has used this new ROM from dopod? What are the changes? I was not able to find any release notes.
How can i know if my device is CID locked?
has anyone extracted the extended ROM from the Dopod D810 handset?
I would like to have a sneak peak into anything that might be useful for the hermes.
thanks in advance

a question about radios

is there anyway to "shelltools" flash my radio rom? I've been missing a lot of calls lately and it really is becoming inconvenient. I havent unlocked my phone, but i am running wm6 using shelltools (mfrazzz's stuff) and i was wondering do i even need to have my phone unlocked to flash my radio? i dont want to lose my warranty so thats why this matters to me. Any ideas guys?
You may get the official (in your case, T-Mobile, I guess) ROM to flash your phone with the full set of WM5 ROM (e.g. IPL, SPL, OS and Radio). As you are using the official ROM, you do not have to CID-unlock your phone prior flashing this official ROM. After that, you may then use shelltool to update/upgrade/flash the WM6 in, while the radio is untouched (e.g. still using the one you've flashed with the official ROM).
i thin i have done what you said already. Before i flashed mfrazzz's wm6 rom i flashed the latest tmobile rom, then i proceeded to flash the wm6 rom. I didnt use shelltools to flash the official tmobile rom obviosuly, but i did use shelltools to flash mrazzz's wm6 rom.
these are my things from what i'm using now:
ipl 2.26
spl 2.26
gsm 02.25.11
os 2.18.0.0
Flash the t-mobile uk radio rom 2.19.11.. that'll work for u.

I have flashed my RADIO ONLY several times with no consequences for my CID LOCKED G4 Wizard, here´s the link for the RADIO ONLY
ftp://xda:[email protected]_Thread/T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radio_Only.zip
You have flashed RADIO only on you G4? HOW? I am having the following problem:
I had to flash a T-Mobile German ROM to use the shelltool for the latest WM6 ROM, it worked but unforunately I have got Radio 2.69 and IPL 3.08.XXX1. (from the latest official MDA Vario ROM flash before)
After the Hardreset everything went fine - I've got WM6, but after i had changed the Clock settings and restarted my device i simply have NO SIGNAL anymore. I am currently in australia maybe thats the reason???
I tried to install the offical T-Mobile AKU 2.0, but the RUU shows me error 296 as I have installed a later ROM AKU3.3 bevor my WM6 flash.
Which tools have y used? And how is the procedure?
Cheers!!!

No, we can´t flash a ROM with bootloader other than the one you have if you have a G4 CID locked device. Unless you use a RUU with no ID (see next paragraph) and the nb.nkf file lacks of IPL/SPL, such is the case of the Wizard Love which I use before to flash any other ROM with the Shell Tool.
Read post #2 of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310954
Read carefully where talks about Splash Screens and Splash Only RUU for G4, same procedure for splash screen applies to RADIO. This doesn´t work for OS, for OS you have to use Shell Tool.
Good luck!

Lots of research done, nearly ready to start. Some questions...

Will be receiving a HTC TyTN II. It will be Orange branded and sim locked.
I understand the first thing will be to install Hard SPL.
1. Now, I read somewhere that HTC haven't released any official ROMs of their own with Windows Mobile 6.1. Why is it that the Shipped ROMs wiki page has them here?
2. Whether or not they are HTC's own 6.1 ROMs, there are three I'm willing to try. They are (and I'm just copying and pasting these from the Shipped ROMs wiki page):
3.03.405.0 (Radio 1.64.06.04) updated original WWE found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365047
3.02.405.0 (Radio 1.58.26.20) original WWE found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365068
3.28.405.0 (Radio 1.65.16.25) original HTC WWE (World Wide English) found here http://rapidshare.com/files/1170540....0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship.zip
These three seem to be "original" HTC Windows Mobile 6.1 ROMs. All are worldwide English. So what's the difference between each? Should I simply assume the one with the higher version number is the better one?

Thanks. Yup, I found 3 that seem to be HTC originals. Don't know how up to date they are with HTC's e-Club but they should do. From the three I have found below, I'm assuming the higher version is the latest (3.28.405.0), but why does the Shipped ROMs Wiki page not just delete the other 2 and keep the latest one?
Here are the 3 I found:
3.03.405.0 (Radio 1.64.06.04) updated original WWE found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365047
3.02.405.0 (Radio 1.58.26.20) original WWE found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365068
3.28.405.0 (Radio 1.65.16.25) original HTC WWE (World Wide English) found here http://rapidshare.com/files/11705402...16.25_Ship.zip
Question 1: Which should I go for, the one I'm assuming as the latest (3.28.405.0), or are all three completely different things?
Question 2: Do these HTC ROMs include all the bundled HTC software that would normally come on an original HTC TyTN II Kaiser?
I'd really like these 2 questions answered before I try the upgrade.

Hope this helped in some way. The best way to find the best ROM/Radio is to try them all and see what suits you the best.
Just remember that you will need to unlock the phone too, otherwise installing a new radio (which is needed for WM6.1) will lock your phone and require an unlock code. There is free software on this site to do that for you. Just follow it to the letter and try and use sim cards that are not sim code locked (which i done and had so many problems getting it unlocked)
If it arrives soon you have a very good chance it will have 6.1. If not there is a 6.1 update for download on the Orange UK 6.1 thread. With this you wouldn't have to 'crack' it and invalidate any warranty?
This is what I did and then load the cabs you want. I think every htc cab you could ever need is in here.

I think we are referring to Security unlocking. This process ensures that you phone cannot become bricked by installing the latest radios from HTC that have extra security. Without security unlock you cannot downgrade these radios without a tool called FrankenKaiser.
I'd recommend Sec Unlock for every user, It can be re-locked later if need be.
Thanks
Dave
Yes but the Orange UK phones are radio locked too, which requires the phone to sim unlocked and HardSPL installed to (To prevent Bricking)

Thank you all for your replies.
The phone will have Windows Mobile 6.1 on it, but it's Orange branded with Orange's bloatware. I would prefer just installing the default HTC ROMs. It's also going to be SIM locked to Orange (I confirmed all this before purchase). But, buying the Orange one also worked out cheaper for me.
Question 1:The first thing I'm going to try is SIM unlocking it, while keeping the Orange ROM as it is. Then I'll try a non-Orange SIM card and see if it works. Will I be able to simply unlock the SIM by just using KaiserUnlocker.exe?
Question 2:After that, if I don't like the Orange branded Windows Mobile 6.1, isn't it simply a case of installing HardSPL v3.x.x (latest) and then continuing with the HTC ROM flash procedure as found here?
Question 3:I've just read some replies above about security unlocking. I'll need to do that as well? Is it automatic as part of HardSPL version 3.x.x?
Sorry for all the questions, I've done and still am researching the Wiki/stickies. I figure it'll save time if I clarify the steps now before attempting anything risky.

Ah, but then the KaiserUnlocker says I must also be on a Windows Mobile 6.0 ROM to SIM unlock it, and my Orange phone will come with a 6.1 ROM. And on the HardSPL v3 FAQ, it says if you're on a 6.1 ROM, you should use HardSPL v3.
So, does this mean I can't unlock the SIM, without first installing HardSPL v3, downgrading to a HTC 6.0 ROM, then installing HardSPL v1, use KaiserUnlocker, then install HardSPL v3 again and upgrade to HTC 6.1 ROM?
Or what better option does an Orange-branded HTC TyTN II Windows Mobile 6.1 Sim-locked phone have?

You need security unlock to flash topaz radios, and IIRC some hex editing too .
Dave
really? because i am hard spl'd, and on the raphael thats all you needed to flash any radio
Supposedly you can flash any radio that was made for a Rhodium with HardSPL. For other model radios (like Topaz), you have to security unlock it which is slightly different.
So your choices it looks like for now is to try one of the newer radios (I think there is a higher number T-Mobile one for Rhodium on the thread); security unlock your phone and flash the Topaz radio; or hang tight and pray someone posts the ATT Stock Radio!

Yes, the Device will only accept a Topaz Radio if it is Security Unlocked. This is also true in the Raphael.

i have reconstructed the stock at&t tilt 2 stock rom - including 0.87 spl, 4.48 radio, splash screen, and 21849 os
this is created in old rom kitchen and can be used for cooking
the main reason i did this is to offer at&t users the factory rom for warranty return reasons.

Awesome job, Thanks so much. I usually don't flash a new device untill I have the stock ROM on hand but I couldn't wait. I knew someone would get this done for us.

I'm already HardSPL (security) unlocked as well as SIM unlocked. I assume if I load this I will remain SIM unlocked, but my SPL will be security locked again?
Thanks!

if you secruity and hard spl unlocked your device than both will still be unlocked after you flash this rom as well
So does this also carry over the proper keyboard as well? So that if I flash this ROM, it's basically like it's the exact same as if I had just bought a brand new Tilt2?

this rom has everything in it that the stock rom that came on the device.
i didn't modify nothing, all i did was take the stock spl, stock radio, stock splash screen, and stock os and package it up
i didn't remove or add anything into it other than what came stock on the tilt 2
Thanks for all your hardwork.
If I restored to this ROM and then want to use a custom ROM later would I have to do the whole hardSPL thing again?
Great work Herg! This is exactly what many of us needed.
i needed it as well and since the actual rom wasn't released something needed to be done.....da_g gave some of the important files like radio, and spl so lets not forget him cause this was a joint effort to build

That's actually one of the open questions on some of the other threads. Someone had to flash his back for a warranty return and reported that the SPL did not change back to 0.87 as expected. I've got an open request/PM with cmonex as they were going to try and post a properly signed 0.87 SPL only for warranty restoration but it looks as if they haven't gotten around to it yet...
BUT to answer the question, I believe that once you restore the SPL to a warranty version (be it 0.84 or 0.87) I think you do have to run HardSPL again if you want to put cooked ROMs on the phone.
herg, da_G, or others -- do you know if there was a specific way to restore the SPL using this image since it's packed in? I thought I remember someone saying that they tried the following sequence on an older phone (not sure if it would work on the Tilt2 since it does involve going to a previous stock SPL):
1. Flash the warranty ROM to the phone (i.e. the one herg posted)
2. Flash one of the other warranty SPLs (maybe 0.84?)
3. Flash the same ROM in #1 one more time (then the SPL should be correct)
Again, as I mentioned, I am not sure if it will work since after step #2, technically you would be off of the HardSPL and I am not sure if you would be able to flash again in step #3 since the ROM is not an official ATT signed one.
even though this is a reconstructed stock rom......it is treated like a cooked rom
the only difference is this contains all the pieces to create it (spl, radio, splash, and os)

So this means that the 3 step process I just posted above probably won't work, since after step #2 you would not be able to reflash the ROM since it is technically a cooked one as well.
Herg, Been following your work here and on Mobility Digest, I've been waiting for a stock rom before I flash my T2. Have you had any luck on the 4.48.25.20 radio (exe or nbh) yet. I'd like to try one of the other radios but want the stock one too.
Yeah, the SPL needs to be signed in order to be flashable. Either signed with the olinex cert to flash against the HSPL, or signed with the HTC cert to flash against the stock SPL.
I could upload the full .nbh of the test ROM, it would be signed with the HTC certs and may be accepted by the stock SPL (but it might be signed with a seperate test cert, too)
Wish I had gotten the stock ROM by now, but it's proving to be elusive
I want to return my phone to ATT not for the warranty reasons but because i am getting a better deal at some other retailer. so can i use this rom for the same purpose ?
