Is there a way to alt+tab like windows in xperia? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I find it annoying having to press OK all the time then going to task manager (which is laggy and have to wait for it to load up the running pprograms).. any light on this?

You can use a third party task manager like Showcase (free), and assign it to a soft key.
Also, AEButtons Plus has an Alt+Tab function that is assignable to many different keys. It also has a Switch to next app function.
I'm sure there are many others.

Showcase, Taskfacade, and Alt-Tab, any of which could be mapped to one of the little silver keys.

[Request] App like Hbutton

I love Hbutton from you can launch apps when pressing telephone hard button. But you can only assign 5 apps and only to this button.
Is there any way to customize more buttons with Hbutton?
Is there any similar software with the possibility of customizing all hard buttons? I'm looking for one small application like Hbutton, do not want a huge program like spb pocket plus.
No apps?? nothing?
The ONLY application I know that works for now is AEButton Plus, sadly it isn't freeware and not as good as HButton.

Task Manager Suggestions?

I'm looking for a task manager that I can launch with a hard button with the help of AEButton,
in which I can scroll though my open programs using the scroller not the touch screen and close each in turn or close all.
I've tried a lot and they all either;
- They dont have the facility to use the buttons as a scroller, touch only.
- They cant be launched to open using a hardware button, as in the program launches but all I get is the little cross, dot button appear in the top right of my today screen, not actually open the task manager.
- Or they dont have the facility to close all apps.
there must be a simple little program that does this, and im starting to feel like i've tried them all...
I can distantly remember using a version on RomEOS 1.2.1 but cant find any reference to it, it allowied me to 'check' each program and close them, and launched as an actual program, rather than enabling a cross on my today screen. And it wasn;t HTC Taskmanager.
Any suggestions you lovely people? I think one handed PPC use is they way to go and this is frustraiting me.
Install SPB Pocket Plus
Soft reset
Go to Settings-Buttons
Assign "Alt-Tab" on any button you want.
Press button, see all open prg's and scroll with the wheel to the one you want, press wheel and you are there.
Hi,
ever tried WkTask (freeware) ?
Quickmenu does the trick for me. Much better than WKTask. Also freeware. X button closes the app, gives a PC feel to menus and you don't ever have to use stylus.
Thanks for the replies
tried both WKTask and Quickmenu, but evenually settles on HandySwitcher, turned out to be a bonus that you can customise the colours, since i have a white background and couldn't read the white text on the menu.
Success!
Why wouldn't you use the task switching part of phoneAlarm?
You can set the default function to the switcher and be managing open tesks with 2 button pushes.
I second Quickmenu. Once you click the exe once it'll auto start after soft resets. Goto the settings and customize the startmenu the way you want. I set mine up to have Running programs first and that set to be shown as submenu and then it allows you the close one or close all feature, quickmenu popout second, then a break and then program, settings, and office folders all set to submenus and then my regular programs as links below. I can control it all with my finger or with the jog dial. Retains your windows TSK theme and if you set it to replace windows start menu it is like the other never existed. Excellent program and very lightweight. To fix the text issue I use UI Tweaker. Also helps me match the color to my TSK better. Just my personal preference.

Improving HTC Task Manager

I really like the included HTC Task Manager as it is, particularly what I really like is the popup menu when on the home screen that allows you to close some or all apps or jump to any running minimized apps.
The functionality I want added is so simple I wouldn't be surprised if it's already there and I'm missing it.
I want the X button to close apps as normal, but if I tap and hold the X button I want it to bring up the Task Manager popup, in ALL programs.
The reason is I really want an easy way for switching between minimized apps and the Task Manager popup is the perfect simple way to do it but I have to be at the today screen to bring it up. If I could be in Word, tap and hold, then switch to a minimized Excel sheet it would be much easier than having to hit the home button then bring up the task switcher. I've tried alot of 3rd party task manager apps but they either don't do what I want or add too much complexity to what should be a simple task changing app.
Does this function already exist or has somebody made a cab that extends the Task Manager dropdown to all programs that have an X?
I been wondering the exact same thing but have not found the answer as of yet during my search.
Anyone?
Thanks
lakeridgesoftware wisbar lite is a good apps for htc taskmgr replacement but will cost lil' money

Remap Home button

First of all, thanks for all good advices and programs from you guys!
My question: How could I remap the Home button to go to SPB Now instead of WM Today?
Thanks an Happy New Year!
Remap...
You can use this application, which uses the touch panel to scroll in apps and use the four hardware buttons to launch apps by touch, thus giving you 4 buttons to map applications to. It's worth a look at least.
I've not heard of anyone actually remapping the 'Home' key itself.
you probably cannot remap home key unless you modify its keypad driver. By the time I bought this, I also thought I could remap or hook the hardware keys to other actions as other WM devices can but it does it in an unusual way that limit the possibility of the OS itself. Moreover, the keys often does not response or response wrongly, you just cannot rely on them as you could on other PDA.
try dredsensor!
it works~ but it doesnt go well with my BSB WM6.5 rom's titanium screen. can scroll or use arrow (up or down) on the titanium.

Task switch and kill with hotkey ?

Hi,
I have test many app, and no one solve properly my problem.
I want a task switcher, very fast, can be launch with a key bind (find ? find + back ? 500ms on home ?), which allow to switch between the launched app very easily, or kill it easily too (throw app up maybe, like Palm Pre).
What do you think about that ?
Thanks
Hi,
If you press for a couple of seconds the Home button of your Hero, you will see a built in task switcher Nice because it shows the open apps and also the latest used apps so you can reopen them

can somebody upload och mail me a full vrsion of taskiller ? I want to ignore more then 2 apps... And i can't buy it in sweden...
if you still didn't find any: HButton
you can define a key for switching (holding or pressing 1 button)
and closing/killing (holding another button for half a sec)
but you need to have definable keys in winmo enviro,
rhodium don't have just searching for something similar, any ideas so far?
wish I could define switch-to-prev in Rhodium Keyboard Controller
