Screen Protector? - HD2 Accessories

Does anyone here know of any nice and good screen protector for sale online? Cant find anything much over at ebay.

I've read in a review of htc hd2 that a screen protector will not be good because capacitive screen (I don't know if it's right or not)

Well there are none included in the HTC's boxed HD2 which seems to be a hint.

galaxys> yeah, I read about that too. I think i should just go ahead and buy from ebay as I don wanna risk my coming HD2 having a scratches... especially on the screen.

Having not put a screen protector on my Blackstone as soon as I bought it and then put a deep scratch on the screen I will be fitting one to my Leo when it arrives. I was not sure about there being one in the box - thanks for that galaxys - so I ordered one with my Leo from HandTec.

Well iPhones have screen protectors....

well,
this are my 2 cent of thinking about screenprotector for hd2 (or iphone as well)
1. there display surface of capacitive screens is made of real glas not plastic!, wich makes it more 'scratch resistend' then the plastic ones used in other devices.
2. you have to use your finger and not the fingernail (pen, or other hard and sharp things) to make the display reacting. so this is another 'scratch preventer'.
3. the display films today are that thin, that i dont think they prevent the display from responding.
so after all i thing i will buy a screenprotector for my hd2 but im realy not in a hurry getting it. its definetly not a 'high priority' thing on my 'todolists'
regards mad

!!! WARNING !!! - I've now tried this product. Touch screen doesn't work at all with this screen protector fitted - !!! AVOID !!!

Looks pretty good - 3M film pre-cut, full face. 3M docs suggest 3-6 months life from film. It's a thin film 5 mil and is fine with capacitative display.
Have you seen the new apple mouse - that's a capacitative touch screen with the sensor loops under a plastic shell...

Its a misconception that Screenprotectors reduce sensitivity of a Capacitive screen. That totally BS. Capacitive is in no way affected by a screen protector.
And believe me, you will need a screen protector for even a glass based surface. After all you dont wanna see even 1 little scratch!
Im getting a Zagg Full body protector as soon as I buy this device.
Please fill in the request here for Zagg to make a Guard for the HD2 :

There's probably a reason why HTC sell screen protectors for the HD2 at their online store.
But if we really need one, then i don't see why the didn't include one :s

I've used a Martin Fields on my X1 and it's brilliant. I'm waiting them to release one than I'll be ordering mine!

If I end up getting one, then it's because I want an anti-glare protector to help with fingerprints, smudges, glare, & sunlight legibility!

You can never be too safe with these screens. I've got a Cowon S9 which supposedly has a toughened glass screen, still manged to put a tiny scratch on it though, highly annoyed!

Is this good?

Yes, really impressive indeed, but me, I'm going to order a screenprotector "just in case" I'd rather be overprotective here

"helped out" with the zagg shield thing
hopefully the pouch will be enough for me, but you never know

Using Adapt Screenprotector
Because you can never be too sure, I use the Adapt Diamond Screenadapter for HD2. It works fine for me. I do not notice any difference in screen handling what so ever. (But then again, my TomTom doesn't show any lagging either )

Screen Protector?

Anyone got any exeperience / preference with screen protecetors for the Tattoo?
I just ordered a cheapy on (fle)ebay - ill report back on effectiveness.
My seller put a screen protector when I buy it. Could be a cheap one.. but so far I dont have any issue
The only ones I could find are slightly too small - they are for a 2.8" screen and cover the active part of the screen, but not out to the edges. TBH, you don't really notice unless you are dragging your finger off th side of the screen.
Can't remember where I got them but a UK seller
I got the BW UltraClear PDA S/P ( http://shop.brando.com/bw-ultraclear-pda-s-p-htc-tattoo-_p03844c0018d008.html )
It covers the whole screen and the black border around it. It's invisible. Noone even notices it.
The invisible shield should work great.
htc diamond screen protector fits... kind of
you can use the screen protector from a htc diamond. the width is perfect, but the length is a bit longer than required. i used a sharp blade to cut off part of the length from it.
i had to do this because i didnt find a screen protector for a tattoo
go to zagg.com, they have the screen-only and full body protectors for 14.99 and 24.99 respectively.
Im waiting for dealextreme to add Tattoos screen protector
I found an official pack of screen protectors from htc on ebay. Needless to say, it works perfectly.
I recently Baught 2x screen protectors for this off ebay, didnt think that the price would matter so i bought them for £1.60 it total, what a total rip off, arrived today basically 2 pieces of ****ty plastic thats sticky.. first one would'nt stick and second one i have on but its poor quality & has bubbles on... avoid cheap ones!
Is a screen protector needed in your experience with Tattoo?
Is display too weak?
It seems good..
I always buy a screen protector for my touchscreen phones. I have always used Martin Fields screen protectors and they are absolutely awesome. Put it on once and forget about it forever. This time I put Invisible Shield on my Tattoo, cos I got a great deal on it and hate it. I is not Invisible at all. When the screen is off it is very visible. I will see if I can live with it otherwise I am buying myself another Martin Fields.
Thanks Jabe for your answer, i'll check Martin Fields screen protectors

I bought a screen protector from boxwavecorporation
It is the best screen protector you can find on the market
It fits screen perfectly it covers also black screen outlining.
you can wash it under the water, and later on reuse it

The only thing to bear in mind is that when you remove the covers (tattoomyhtc.com) you can loosen the screen protector - I bought HTC original screen protectors from ebay (hong kong) the first one came off when I took off my original phone cover. I would recommend taking off the front of the phone and trying to get the screen cover as perfectly positioned as possible on the screen. Then re add your phone cover.
I have an Invisible Shield for 2 months and it's very nice.

Help choosing a screen protector

Hi everyone, I just bought a Xperia X1 and this is my first post on the forum so be gentle
I'm really enjoying my X1 experience, so I don't want it to suffer any harm. I haven't got any screen protector yet, so it has never got out of home. Or is in my hand or is in the case where it comes, so I'm going nuts to take it out of home with me, so I really need help choosing a good screen protector.
This is my first touchscreen cell phone and I realised that is very easy to the screen to get a awfull grease "skin", so I would like to make my choose on 3 characteristics:
1) less fingerprint friendly than the screen
2) quality picture not very different from the one without screen protector
3) usable at direct sunlight
After a lot of search I' thinking of one of these products:
Bodyguardz Full Body
The screen is optical clean, has a good touch feeling and is made of anti-scratch/sel-healing material. From what I read it prevents fingerprints/smugdes a bit, but I don't have any ideia if that bit would be good enough. I'm also worried if it is usuable at direct sunlight.
SGP Shield
This pack comes with a clear protector. I'm a bit afraid of this tipe of screen protectors because they usually smudge too much. Once again I'm worried about it's usuability at direct sunlight.
Steinheil Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint
I'm a bit divided about what to think on this one, as I read both good and bad things. They seem to act good as anti-fingerprints, but it seems they are hard to use under direct sunlight.
Brando PDA Screen Protector (anti-glare)
I read good things about the this ones and I would be willing to give them a try. Are they a good anti-scratch protection? How is the image quality with them?
DC MUGEN MATTE (anti-glare & anti-fingerprint)
The cheapest of the ones I've selected. I saw a video at youtube where it seems they act good as anti-fingerprint, not as much as anti-glare. I'm worried if this would be a good protection against scratches and if it would allow a good image quality.
The two first are "full body" sets and that is a pro but please don't take them as a decision factor. I have already bought a case (expecting deliver), so I'll have the phone body protected. I only put them here because I think it's a better deal to give more 10$ for the "full" set instead of the "screen only" as I might don't like to use the case I've boughted.
Please feel free to comment your experience with this screen protectors, you're advice is very important to my.
I don't know about BodyGuardz, but do not buy the Zagg/Invisible Shield full protector. It sounds like the material is the same: it is very "sticky", leaves fingerprints and does not give good feedback on the screen.
Best to go for the traditional screen protectors. I bought one from Boxwave, similar to the Brando one (which I used on a previous phone, excellent).
Unless anti-glare is a key requirement of yours, I would go for the crystal-clear variant. With glare, you can always tilt the phone away from the source of light (or up the screen brightness if you plan to be outdoors & using the phone). Anti glare looks less clear indoors.
I find most of my screen use is indoors. I happily pay €10-15 per protector, and think it will last 9-12 months, depending on use.
Thanks for the reply =)
Yes I know that the zagg screen protectors aren't a good deal, but for what I read the Bodyguardz are alot better for the screen, as they don't have that orange peel texture, they don't get yellow and they don't distort image, neither creates color aberrations. I really demand a anti-glare protector, just want it to be as usuable as the screen is outdoors. I just want to fingerprints to be less noticeble (and protect the screen obviously ) and for that anti-glare protectors seems to work better than the clear ones.
I've always used Boxwave ever since my Treo 600
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easyfinder/buy-best-sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-accessories_3351.htm
Martin Fields
I've done MArtin Fields, I've done generic matte, and I've seen the light with the Boxwave glossy screen protector. It is excellent with a great fit, and reliability. I've had mine for a year now on the X1, and it is still going strong with just one half a centimeter scratch on the protector after all this time. The best part is you don't even know that it's there.
Thanks to all that have answerd so far =)
About Martin Fields I read some good things about them, but I saw some people complain about how easy scratchable they are, even nails using the touch screen, would scratch them. Maybe it was a bad shipment.
Boxwave screen protector for what I've searched it seems a good product, maybe I'll give them a try.
Please feel free to continue giving you're opinion

I'm pretty satisfied with this cheap protector - I bought two of them, just in case. Very easy to apply - fits perfectly.
The problem with this cheap protectors is that usually they require a "luck factor". If you are lucky you get a very good product, or you have just burned a few bucks.
I use the Steinheil LCD Protection Film Premium, specifically cut for the X1, available on ebay. no matter of opinion, no argument, this is the best. you can't tell it's on the screen, doesn't impair responsiveness, it will never scratch, and wipes grease away perfectly. i love it

I agree, but the brand linked to a few posts back is one of the good ones at a cheap price.
EDIT: I just got these today; http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23639
Delivered to the UK 9 days after ordering. The feel of the screen is actually better/smoother with both finger and stylus than the bare screen. Very much recommended. Better than screen protectors costing 10 times the price that I've tried.

Did you get the crystal glossy screen protector or the anti-fingerprint matte screen? I can't decide which would look better on my phone.

Okay, I really need the perfect screen protector!

Please help me. I am tired of trying so many different screen protectors and none of them seem to fit the HD2 perfectly.
I've tried many about 3 sellers from ebay and even the invisibleshield screen protectors.
I cannot seem to find one that is perfectly aligned to the HD2's screen from top to bottom and side to side.
Here the invisible shield screen protector. Look how badly it aligns around the speaker and from side-to-side!

Can someone please recommend me a perfectly aligned screen protector!
I don't care if it's glossy or matted. Just as long as it is perfectly aligned, sticks very well and high quality and NOT cheapy!
Thank you so much guys.
And if you can please take a picture of your recommended ones...That's be great!
the alignment around the speaker is done with a purpose. this cutout in the screenprotector makes sure the lightsensor and proximity sensor are not blocked.
if it fits tight around the speaker hole the proximity switch isnot working anymore. this sensor is controlling the switching on and off of the screen in a call. when the screen protector covers this sensor this means the screen goes and stays dark when making a call and when you remove the phone from your ear the screen will not light up. so you will not be able to control the phone by the screen.
i had a screen protector where it had a hole for this sensor but was not properly aligned so had the same effect and i had to cut it the way yours looks to getit working again

Can you tell me where she got her's then? Brand? And also, is the SP aligned edge to edge?
Because I hate a screen protector that does leaves about 1cm of screen unprotected (see pictures).
Not to step on anyone's toes here, but let's also remember that the purpose of the screen saver is to protect the screen from damage, which I highly doubt is likely to occur in the nanometer of space at the edge of an imperfect screen protector. I do realize that we want to do the best we can to make things right, but I am just trying to throw a little perspective into the mix.

I will always vouch for Martin Fields... however you can also consider PDair's screen protector... mine fits ALL the edges perfectly... it also follows the speaker grill... you can't even tell its there. Because they claim (and I believe it after using it) 99% transparency... it is so clear my light sensors work perfectly even though the SP covers it...it also isnt cheap

I use that one too. Very nice feel in use, and washable too so you can have multiple attempts at applying it perfectly.
However I have a slight bubble on my screen but its not visible when the phone is switched on. With skilled hands there's no reason you couldn't apply a perfect fit.
THE GENUINE HTC PROTECTOR LINES UP PERFECTLY ! MADE BY HTC THEMSELVES WITH ACTUAL PDAS NOT DUMMY MODELS LIKE OTHER SCREEN PROTECTOR MANUFACTURERS !
Cheapest on eBay, not kidding ! Another search shows one for 3.75 pounds total. Get it here for 3 quid if bidding and if you want to buy now for 3.5 quid.
These retail for about 8.22 at Clove Technology.

in another hand if the SP is a bit too large this may not stick well/make bubbles on the sides depending on the product.
1mm gap can't really bee seen and is not on the touchscreen field.

fits perfect but 15 dollars for just one screen protector, the oem iphone one is 10 for 2 and theyre the best ones they make
we have a saying here: "you get what you pay for". As the chances of me scratching the screen or even just the protector are very slim (haven't scratched a screen yet) i think it was well worth the money. Also, big plusses for me were the button cutouts, instead of it not covering the whole glass area like ebay ones, the feel when touched almost identical to the glass screen, and also the free install by a professional, which guaranteed a perfect, bubble free fit. Also, if you don't have pro to install it for you you can take it off and just wash it..

Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Fits the Urbane perfectly, easy to put on, only $10. It's nothing super special but it does the trick (It is made for the LG Watch R but it fits the Urbane).
I don't like screen protectors very much but my buddy sent me a pic of his Sony Watch 3 which would have been scratched/gouged beyond repair had it not been for some crappy protector he put on it.
I'm pretty rough on watches and figured I better get this before I fcuk it up

Have you had it on for a little while now? How is it holding up? Is it exactly the size of the Urbane screen or does it leave a lip? Fingerprint magnet?
Thanks!
It's held up well and has done it's job. I hit the face of my watch on a table corner which cracked the glass protector but did no damage to screen.
I had to order a new protector so I decided to get the flimsy rubery one just to try something different. I had it on my watch for about a week and then reordered a glass protector. The ruber one really got in the way of the touch sensitivity and took away the nice feel of solid glass.
I ordered a second glass protector which I managed to crack while installing it toy watch. This was my fault. I wanted to get it lined up perfectly so I added, removed, pushed, etc the glass screen protector a lot which eventually cracked it. Again this was my fault. Ordered a third glass protector and installed it without issue. Still have it on now.
Only complaint is that the edges haven't stayed perfectly flush with the bezel of the watch. This is very hard to notice doesn't effect the usability. I've ecided to live with this slight imperfection mainly because I do not want to get another protector if I break it
I will totally buy again if I needed to.

Pics please!
I would like to see how noticeable the screen protector is and also how big the gap between the glass and bezel is.
Thanks in advance.
Here you go
Those are some pretty deep gouges on the bottom of the case, have you found a product to take those out? I have some minor ones on mine now.
I'm pretty sure what you're seeing are partial fingerprints. Looking at watch now and dont have any gouges.
I got one from Montong on amazon, fits my Urbane perfectly.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ne tempered&qid=1447700538&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2
I bought this screen protector and it's not quite large enough. I was wondering if that's pretty much how they all are, or if someone could recommend one that fits better. It's also not that great with the fingerprints. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
Has anyone found ones that are slightly larger? Are they a bit smaller so that they can be removed, if need be?
How are they with fingerprints? And, how come it doesn't appear to be a perfect circle - there seems to be one spot where there is a little corner/protrusion. Are they easy to install centered well?
Does anyone have the "Skinomi TechSkin™" screen protector? How does it fair versus a glass screen protector?
So, I just got a brand new LG Watch Urbane. I am about to open the box, attach a nice metal band to it, and I don't know whether or not I should install a glass screen protector I bought for it.
What is the glass on the LG Watch Urbane made from? Is it Corning Gorilla Glass?
I baby my devices and I am very careful with them. All of my phones and tablets have screen protectors and heavy duty cases. I am not clumsy at all, but I like to be preventative for any potential mishaps that could arise.
My dilemma is that I don't know whether or not I should put a glass screen protector on my watch because it will certainly change the look of it and I'm not sure placing the screen protector on it is actually going to protect it much more than it is already protected on its own.
Please tell me your thoughts. Thank you.

I've banged mine into various pieces of metal while working on cars, and drug a piece of sheetmetal (a roof ridge vent) across my Urbane - which saved my arm from what I imagine would've been an uncomfortable experience. The bezel has a few little scratches, but the screen has none. If you're actually reasonably careful with things (like, have never broken a watch face before), then I'd leave the protector off, as you'll just end up with an ugly sticky edge on a protector (which is probably weaker than the screen glass itself) for no particularly good reason.
I bought an IQShield clear full body skin from Amazon. I'm wondering if I would be better off installing the clear skin to everything but the screen, and getting a glass screen protector. The skin/protector is "self-healing" plastic-stuff. Looking at the install videos, I have to spray stuff on it, and then let it cure overnight. I think it's a little overkill. I don't know. I see a bunch on amazon with lifetime warranties.

A tempered glass discussion

i'm thinking of buying this

anyone has it? other recommendations?
I'm interested in this tempered glass.
If you buy please update this thread!
Thanks
Dont have that. I found on previous phones that the tempered glass options are usually to thick for me. I have a screen protector on but its a thin one and does the job for me.
cheers

i'm still thinking of it. my biggest concern is if it will fit with a case
https://www.honorbuy.com/1065-redmi...otection-tempered-glass-screen-protector.html i have this one (looks like the one you wanna buy). so far so good, it covers the whole screen. the black area has some sort of adhesive that takes care of the 2.5D area near the edges. touch works great on the buttons bar too (doesn't feel as well as the original screen but good enough) the screen colors/contrast are a bit worse, but you can adjust for that from settings.
it's not gonna be as good as without the protector, none of them are gonna works as well as the original screen, but if you don't like it, can't adjust to it you can always take it off.
edit: aaand 10 days later the protector cracked/broke on the buttons cover part. had to take it down.
markw is a cheap phone, and with ugly white upper and down sides, i think it is better use it without any glass.

if you can see the tempered glass got border around it. Actually perfectly match with Redmi 4 prime screen 5" but it would look kinda weird and made me feel unsatisfied due it covered original phone border. I wanna share a picture but i don't know how, and I a new user. Or you can search on youtube for more detail.

Same problem with http://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_591930.html - the border of the tempered glass is covering like 0.5mm of each side of the screen. I made me crazy , I had to tear it off.
just got this one and find it looks better due to lack of visible gaps around edges due to 2.5d screen. Found previously screen protectors cracked easily for the same reason, found this causes the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen to be less responsive which is a bit annoying, will report back when had it on longer than a weekend.
I originally ordered a screen protector for mine from Ebay since I got the phone pre-launch. That screen protector was excellent, it had no borders and just worked a treat. It was completely clear and the only issue I had was on the edges. It didnt make full contact. Over time it eventually got a small crack and that was the end of the it. It lasted approx 4-6 months though.
My wife on the other hand got that one you linked (with the borders) from Gearbest and it was so bad I just asked for a refund. The border was actually smaller than the screen and it was just really bad. Do not get one with a border. Dont do it!

Just ordered two, as the borderless I ordered the last time broke when I tried to remove the protective film
I'm a little late but to add my experience to that.
I had such a black color frame.
+ it looks nice
+ perfectly fits
I was not satisfied
--- the adhesive is only on the periphery under the color
--- when you knock, it floats, because the transparent part is in the air
--- Some models do not see bottom-buttons at all
Total failure.
hello.please someone suggest me a good t.glass that is antioil and fingerprints free.I tryied asling t.glass but phone gets so dirty from fingers that in daylight is almost impossible to see the screen!also it has to be 1-2mm smaller to fit perfect..thanks!
I don't see any t-glass that'll fit, I only use TPU films. They r a bit flexible and often labeled as anti-break, nano explosion...etc. They can cover almost the edge (mybe only 1-2mm from the end side of the screen, abt the inner bezel of the side screen)
thanks dude. can u suggest me one from ebay please?

Try searching for "nano film" or "anti-explosion" and TPU films for Redmi 4 Prime. Nano liquid will work too but only protects from scratches, doesn't protect from LCD breakage. It's abt US $5+ in my local market and they mostly will specify its full coverage, which is NOT possible for ANY tempered glass
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Nano-TP...6f:m:ml_kfYd27Uqd8wea7U0gqHQ&var=422957604565
This is a sample posting but not for redmi 4 prime
