Will 2.0 go on Dream (g1)?

Is it quite possible that there will not be an update to the G1 for android 2.0? This was my fear with the G1, that it would become outdated. I read an article saying that it was planned for the Hero, but the Dream and Magic haven't been discussed yet. I know that we can rely on Cyanogen to fill in the gaps, but doesn't he have us get the google experience apps from HTC? Are we gonna be SOL on these if HTC chooses not to provide updates for them? Thoughts on this please.

swap camera from one rom to another.

i dont know if this is possible or not, that is why i am asking the experts here at xda... i had the mlign 3.0 hero rom on my g1 it was to laggy after a while for me so i switched to cyanogen 4.2.5 which is faster imo.. but i really like the camera in the mlign rom though, both video and picture quality was better. so is there a way i can take the camera software from mlign and port it to cyanogens? any and all help would be great!
NO YOU CAN NOT NEED HTC FRAME WORK.
and next time SEARCH first please and ask your Q in the Q&A here

I did a quick search and found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=507 try putting your question there and see what happens. You never know you may be supprised
maybe XDA needs to put in place a process that only mods can reply to messages that have been posted in the wrong category. I too am tired of looking at question threads in the development forum but do we really need multiple people filling a thread saying the same thing over and over.
Hello, All.
I want the exact same thing, I want the camera from CM 4.0 build. Because this 4.2.5 Camera sucks. It really does. And looked through out the Q&A. No luck. Please. Help someone, anyone.

itransmogrify

I have recently come off of using an iphone and started using the dream and was wondering if it was possible to port itransmogrify to the dream. I am posting this because I here so much complaining about lack of flash support and wondered if this could be a possible solution to the problem. I am well aware that this is far from full flash support but I found myself constantly using it on the iphone and to say the least it is very convenient to have. Here is the link to the itransmogrify website http://joemaller.com/2008/1/12/itransmogrify/.
Please do not flame me if this is not useful or if it needs to be posted somewhere else if it already is posted somewhere else I am simply trying to help the community out by showing the developers something they may not have previously been aware of. I really hope this helps.
P.s
I own both the iphone and the dream and hands down the dream is better!
if u look into it you will see that there is nothing to "port" it is just an javascript. the only problem is that the Android browser will add an "http://" infront on javacript, so you cant use it as an bookmark. but if you klick on the link on his page, it works on android the same way like on iphone
hmm
I wonder if there is a way to stop the browser from putting html in front of java ill look into it and let you know of any break throughs thank you for the help.

gallery mod???

I've searched everywhere and have only found one other post like this which didn't really help.
What I'm looking for is a modified galler.apk which will have multitouch and use swipes to navigate through photos. I know the hero roms have it but I want to stay with dwang.
If anyone knows of an modded .apk like this, please can you redirect me.
Or, as I don't know a thing about this technicall stuff, maybe there's someone smart out there who likes the idea and wants to develop one??

Looking for tips on cooking my own ROM

Hi,
I just got my XT860, the GSM version of DROID 3. I have tried some ICS roms like CM9, AOKP and even the new KEXEC one. Sadly for me none of them have support for video camera... the hardware codec drivers are missing, and that's a show stopper for me.
So I'm sticking with the official gingerbread ROM but I want to customize it a little so I feel more confortable with it.
I need guidance on how to deodex/zipalign it so I can remove all of motorola's bloatware and change some things like the launcher to the one I like, I also want to change the loading screen to a customized one, change the phone's theme (I *need* those xperia arc icons badly, theyre just gorgeous!). Oh, I also would love to know how to make the rom be compatible with hashofcode's safestrap.
I searched trough many topics on those subjects but I didn't find much information so any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for taking your time to help me.
I have read the first topic u linked before posting, but it says thats for HTC devices and information on adding support for other devices is either really vague or i`m too dumb to understand. Propbably the latter.
I honestly have no idea.
Are you fluent in any coding languages? If you don't know anything then making a rom is pretty far away.

That and google. Apks arent usually manufacturer dependant, though it depends on the app. Instructions can always be followed and tweaked, you dont have to s-off etc... Google will help you though or you could just rip them out of a pre-existing rom and repackage.
