Windows 7 and Vista Pearl boot animations for all resolutions [FIXED DOWNLOAD LINKS] - Windows Mobile Themes

26th July: Finally fixed the download links, they're now on MediaFire. Sorry guys.
There is already a Windows 7 startup animation (by remyc), but it has horrible dithering .
So I made a new one and a Vista Pearl animation, which was displayed in Windows Vista before the login screen appeared. All credits for the woderful graphics and creativity go to Microsoft, I only extracted them from OS resources and converted them to GIFs.

Note that the CABs contain a welcomehead, the still image displayed after the animation, made of the last frame, providing a seamless startup experience .
You are not allowed to modify any graphics or other resources that come with this, nor are you allowed to distribute (upload) it anywhere else. Instead, always link to this thread. If you want to cook this into your ROM, you have to ask for explicit permission by posting in this thread and providing a link to your ROM. Thanks.

Will give it a shot asap

Did you see an animation on startup before? If not, your ROM doesn't have the HTCAnimation.dll cooked in. Then, it won't work .

I saw you need some feedback in here, so...
When I installed it nothing chanced so I had to unpack the cab and rename the gif file and then put it directly to /Windows, because on my Omnia (WQVGA) the startup file animation is Ani_poweron.gif. But the gif file is great, thanks! So, if you want to, you could make a new cab for WQVGA.

Over 500 donwloads and almost no feedback...
This way, I won't be able to fix or improve anything, so please post some comments .

Do you know which key in the registry is responsible for that animation? If you could find out (by searching the registry for "Ani_poweron.gif"), I'd be able to make the CAB work for more people.
If not, I'll upload the GIFs seperately. Thanks for you feedback!

Feedback
The graphics on this version is way better than Remyc's version. However, I would like to have the accompanying sound. Would you please have a version that incorporates it? That would be awesome!
Thank you!

On a OMNIA II the file is welcomehead.192.png

works on stock htc rom, but not on a custom rom. However, the windows mobile 6.1 splash screen shows up right after, so it's kind of clashing. Goes from "Starting windows" to "windows mobile 6.1." Anyway to remove that and just show the custom one. Also, is it possible to get it working on a custom ROM?
edit: btw, the animation shows up when shutting down on the custom rom...

cool!
thanks Livven!

Can you make Vista pearl in 240x400??¿?

Your Startup is awesome.
I would like to have it with the welcomehead from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570880 - It would be the best of two worlds.
A Windows Startup plus the Windows Mobile Welcomehead... sounds great?
Please...

Yes, that's the still image displayed after the animation, but I need to know the nameof the GIF file .
Correct me if i'm wrong, but there is no animation in the omnia welcome. We only have an png image.

The Windows 7 animation was a little choppy on my Titan, but the Vista Pearl looks great. Thanks.

I'll make additional versions which fade away into a black background, allowing you to use any welcomehead without clashing.

Topaz and Rhodium Manila 2d Themes (Links FIXED!!!)

Thanks to mbarvian because I used his skin as a base, and to poorlyduck for the clock, I made 2 manilla 2d themes, one is based off of the rhodium's touchflo 3d, and one based off of the topaz's.
The zip files have the images for the theme in them, you have to use the Manilla 2D customizer to apply the themes, which can be downloaded from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392
also, I am not sure if everyone will have this problem but if the clock doesn't show up correctly I recommend installing poorlyduck's clock because that will fix it, I will try to make my own fix later, but for now poorlyduck's should fix the problem, you can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2756661&postcount=2667
other than that, please leave feedback, report any bugs that you find (although I tested it and am currently using the topaz one) and enjoy!
Of coarse as usual I am just going to say I am not responsible for any damages hardware or software related ext, but I am pretty sure applying a theme can not do anything like that
BTW- I would prefer a touch pro 2 over a diamond 2, but I am using the topaz theme cause I think it looks better

Check your PM. What type or error? Make sure the files are .zip or .cab format.
FYI
Remember using M2D Customizer to add custom texts (HTC) and eliminate carrier name, so the Date gets sent to the bottom like the original Topaz/Rhodium.

The clock isn't working right for me
It gets put into the bottom right corner, like the XML for the digital clock isn't being changed to the middle of the screen, but is staying in the right for the original MD2 theme.

Is there an easy way to change the initial windows logo screen to like the original "Smart Mobility" logo how about the windows 6.5 screen is that still named "welcomehead.96.png" also is the a beta rom or the original release?
It's for QVGA, isnt it? So WQVGA device can use it with full screen
The links doesn't work for me. All I get is a 0 kb zip file.
Would you please fix it? Well of course I know a long time has past since the last post.

WM 6.5 Titanium/Chrome Theme Project WQVGA QVGA?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ripple Theme Project WQVGA QVGA??
This is for Windows 6.5 Roms Titanium/Chome B.23047, and up
Credit to NikichZ, and XDA.
I am going to call it "The Ripple Series" because it was original based off my Blue Ripple Theme.
It contains some pre installed program files.
Ccomm, Titanium Weather, Opera9, CHome Editor, Clauncher, Cmanilamenu, and Mortscript.
All other panels can be added with CHome editor. (Showaco)
I loaded this on to a clean Rom.
It seems to work very,very,well...
Was alot of work to put together.
Here's a couple Screenshots...
Still a work in progress

}
To install: Device Only! (Never tested on SD card It may work idk.)
First install the Titanium Base files cab.
This will install the original "Blue Ripple 2" Theme.
To make things simple I made update cabs for different colors, this preserves your settings so you don't need to set everything up again.
Then install one of the Update Color Cabs...DO NOT remove the base files.
When installing a new Update Cab simply install...
It will remove the old, and add the new. This will clean the graphics, and icons to add the new color scheme.
To complete the install go to Start/Settings/Home/Appearance, and select the Theme you wish to use. (XXXX)QVGA thus adding the tsk
That's it...
This Theme/Skin is very customizable, and very finger friendly.
All the png icons I added for the Manilamenu are located in the Clauncher/icon folder.
If you need more just drop them there.
To change colors simply install a different color update cab.
No new setup is needed.
Also:
This will also work with any of the pre installed tsk's on the rom.
Note:
When Uninstalling base files be sure to remove Mortscript, and Checksum from Windows/StartUp, and opera9 from Windows Folder.
If Theme won't fully uninstall, Disable Windows Default, and try again then soft reset.
All other Plugins can be found in the Programs Files Folder.
To disable or add a panel use...
Chome editor (included) located in Start Menu/Utilities Folder
Still a work in progress...just thought I would share what I have so far.
CAB files can be found here......
Titanium Base Files (Original Blue Ripple Theme)
Titanium Base files.cab
Color Updates
Blue Ripple Update.cab
Green Ripple Update.cab
Purple Ripple Update.cab
Red Ripple Update.cab
Please post your findings so I may make improvements.
Also if you post this anywhere please give proper credits

Thanks for the post, its got tons of views but no one has said anything until you :-D
As for tutorial, there really isn't one but i will try to explain...
There is a WONDERFUL program named CFC GUI at THIS XDA POST
Once in that program you can extract manila files into their respective .pngs and edit them with your favorite editing software
Then throw them back into cfc gui and convert them back to their respective manila files
looks like you and I had the same idea at about the same time. I started working on a few yesterday my self. Check em out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614824
differences between CFC and NonCFC
I just recieved a question regarding what the difference between CFC and NonCFC are....Im going to add it to the thread so anyone who is wondering will know!
CFC and NonCFC are the exact same manila files, but CFC is a compressed version of the file.
Your ROM is the determining factor in whether you can use CFC or not, alot of the custom ROMs use CFC patched manila files to use CFC pictures and it makes manila(sense) run alot smoother because the graphics processor isn't having to open/read a larger image.
To find out whether you have a CFC patched manila file please ask your ROM creator
Very nice!
Nice work, glad to see people are working on these now

We REALLY do need to find a way to add more, i think that if we find out what tells manila what to do with those files then we can add more files into that reference....i dont know programming though
Can you see if this rain mod works on WVGA?
After installation, go to homescreen>Menu>Weather Demo

Thanks for the post, its got tons of views but no one has said anything until you :-D
As for tutorial, there really isn't one but i will try to explain...
There is a WONDERFUL program named CFC GUI at THIS XDA POST
Once in that program you can extract manila files into their respective .pngs and edit them with your favorite editing software
Then throw them back into cfc gui and convert them back to their respective manila files

Hey guys,
Awesome mod, but when I try installing, nothing happens. Currently running RomeOS 4.07a on my HD2, with Cookies Home Tab 1.7 installed. Can we confirm all you have to do is copy and paste the attached files into the Windows directory???
Cheers
RR

Do you have done the soft reset or manila restart?
Please, ... Read The Fantastic Manual
With png files you must use cfc gui to import the png to the right manila file.
Then download to temp directory, then copy from temp to windows directory.
Then restart manila or soft reset the device.
Copy tool:
Total Commander here on XDA, please use the search function. Thank you for reading .
And now please fasten your seatbelts and hacking away..

actually cfc gui will export them directly to your windows directory and reset manilla with the push of a button. no need to do anything directly on your device.

That's true, but there are allways user they don't find the feature, believe me...
Thanks for your help guys,
I've managed to do the whole cfc compression thing, and currently have Black-Yellow version running. (Very sweet by the way!!!)
But for everyone else, I've attached the manilla files so all you have to do is copy THESE to the Windows directory and soft reset.
Once again, this clock absolutely rocks, so thanks for your work!!!
