Hello everyone,
Back in the CM-4.0.2 days, I briefly used the HTC Hero 1.5.0 theme from tehseano.
I have now taken bits and pieces of it, and updated it for CM-4.2.12.2.
Please note that this replaces the classes.dex file in services.jar. This theme may cause problems with any other version of CM, and may not work with any other ROM. If in doubt DO NOT apply the services.jar subtheme.

In the future, themed music widget, themed calendar widget, and some fixed icons are coming. Please bear with me, it is near the end of the semester, and I am working full time, and going to school full time.
4.2.11.1 has re-vamped dialer icons.
The Power Control widget theme is now included.
Music Widget is now included also.
I have not forgotten about those that want a Dwang's ROM port, I am looking into it.
I am also going to work on a version to be flashed over Stericson's Lock.
Hopefully the next release will also include themed music/calendar/search widgets.
Sorry about the gap in updates... The holidays are a hectic time.

Apparently 4.2.6 made some changes to the Phone.apk images... it will look a little off until I can rework the images. You could just skip that sub-theme until then.

It sounds as if you did not apply the services.jar sub-theme. I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but the reason I have to use that piece is because those colors (for date and time) are hardcoded in the classes.dex file. I wish there were a better work around, but this is the best I can do for the moment.

That is the "Power Control Widget" (Part of Donut, themed with this.)
Sorry I don't have an update for 4.2.7.1 yet, guys. Full time work and School hasn't left me with much time as finals are coming up. I am going to try and have an update this weekend.
I'll also look into posting a theme for Dwang's ROM.
Great work, it makes me love my G1 all the more.
Even with the small issues with clock and dialer, this is a fantastic Morph!

4.2.7.1 is posted. I am hard at work attempting to theme the music/search/calendar widgets and fixing a couple of images that aren't of the quality I would like.
I have fixed the dialer bug in this release.

ive never used metamorph before but is it supposed to take forever on "framework"
it was taking to long and it kinda of killed home to the point where I had to unlock my sim card.So i exited out of the program and everything seems to be running fine except all my widgets were not loaded.
should I try again and let it finish?

framework-res should take 30-45 seconds (maybe more with the latest MetaMorph update)
Widgets are notorious for needing to be re-added after theming. You should delete them and re-add them.
I am also replacing a decent number of icons in the Home screen, so Home will generally need to be reloaded afterward.
Not to mention the fact that any changes to framework-res should be followed by a reboot .

yea I ended up doing that
I "morphed" framework and the other last one separate and rebooted.I dont know what it does but everything is working so Im happy.
I was looking for a hero theme for the longest on 4.2.7.1 so thanks
Everything worked out fine with the install. I started to leave my job last night and turned on my bluetooth headset. It would not connect at all. I was thinking to myself, "This guy is taken this hero s*** too far. No working bluetooth!!!" I just rebooted my phone and the bt connected again, LOL! Other then that BT prob, everything is working just fine. Thanks again for your work.

I have a question, can I delete the files the theme creates?
I have 700 images now on my phone and going into gallery to look at my pics and wallpapers is like going through a jungle.
@m0zes:
You should put a .nomedia file in your morphs, that would solve the issue with the images showing up in the gallery.
You can take the file from other morphs cause it's universal and contains no data.

Hello to all.
This is BETA 2 of my first theme, Ghost Black. For the time being, it is RC30 JF1.41 only, but I am planning on doing RC8 and ADP1 once I redo this for RC31.
As stated above, this is a BETA, and with that, you are responsible for any/all problems you encounter trying this theme. I have tested it myself, and have had no issues, but that doesn't mean you won't.

Thanks to everyone for all their input and suggestions so far. Even though I haven't implemented everything yet, I will in the upcoming days/weeks.
Still to do/current issues:
*Help finish this up for a proper metamorph release!
*Due to the black icons, they look really bad on the open slider. I have experimented in V2 with the Music and Browser icons, giving them a white glow (which makes them easier to see against dark backgrounds). If all goes well, I will convert the rest of the icons to have the whiteglow

Downloaded and installed with no problems.
Very slick. The icons look great against a light background.
However...When viewed in the applications tab, they are hard to see unless you highlight them with the trackball.

Just installed on my g1 gotta say it looks amazing as is just wondering if you can post that wallpaper you used because without it it dosent go well with a dark background
I found out that the current version you have of the theme, when I went to music the song icon is still green I guess you forgot to put it in there its just a heads up

I found 2 problems with the theme, in the music section the song icon is still green and when you pop out the keyboard in landscape the icon to pull the menu out has vanished. I will report more bugs when I find them in this post so check back.

I kept getting corrupt downloads while doing so. I found it works better to download directly through the browser. Hope this helps!

I think that you could fix this by simply making the background black and the icons white,but I don't know if this would take away from the theme as a whole...
Just installed it on mine. looks really nice, especially for a work in progress. A few minor details to change:
- Make the GSM signal bars look like the WiFi signal bars.
- Make new Data Status icons (G,E,3G) that fit in with the skin.
- The icons in the launcher are too difficult to see with a black background. If the background was a few shades lighter it might be easier to see.
Agreed on the issues posted so far. The big thing I came across is when I installed it my browser uninstalled. I use the auto rotate browser build which could've been why. When I put the browser back on though it still uses the old icon

a bug report...when trying to set a background from pictures this theme doesnt work with it....the picture viewer begins to act buggy.

Idk But i took it off of manup's bluestar.
So here it is, been meaning to do this for a while but I've been so busy....
First of all, the credits for the new lockscreen go to two people.
JDWME -- Came to me with the idea of building a lockscreen for a theme of his, and as a result JDWME pretty much designed the look of the lockscreen, meaning the layout. So if you like how it looks, you can thanks him for that. He is the designer, so to speak.
Stericson --- If JDWME is the designer then I am the Architect. I took the images from JDWME and the idea of what he wanted and built it. It took me well over a month to do this. I dont have alot of timke for Android with school, family, and work....so you may see why it took so long.... I also implemented features of my own such as the fade in and out animations and the settings panel.
JDWME will continue to have a large influence in this lockscreen design as I consider him to be a partner in all of this.
Others who have contributed to the lockscreen: MoonsSpoon (Text shadow, makes text stand out on lockscreen), Manup465 (suggested having two different images for the docks instead of one)
Moving on...
One of the most important things I want to point out is as follows: If you flash a theme with our lockscreen you wont be able to simply switch to another theme without the lockscreen without having to reflash a full update...
Why, do you ask?
Well, I'll tell ya....The themes that have our lockscreen have 4-5 files in theme for the lockscreen to work. These files include, Settings.apk, framework.jar, framework-res.apk, services.jar, and android.policy.jar.
Most other themes only contain, at most, framework-res.apk and services.jar. So when you flash this other theme without the lockscreen, my android.policy.jar is looking for things inside of framework-res.apk that are not there annnnnd you get a bunch of problems.
What can I do about this?
What you can do is pull these files out of the full update and flash them back to your phone is going back to a theme without our lockscreen. Then your issue will be resolved...just make sure you do this in recovery.
What else?
Until Cyan puts this in his build I cannot make this perfectly compatible with his build. Mostly because it is difficult to absolutely replicate his source. This means that the video controls not working, will remain that way until he officially releases the lockscreen in his build, which he has made announcements that he would but again it is his build and it is his choice whether or not he does so and when he will do so....

If you are running 4.0.4 just pull services.jar, framework.jar, framework-res.apk, and android.policy.jar. All of these go into /system/framework. Also, pull settings.apk and put it into /system/app. then you should be good to go.
Also, it doesnt matter to me whos you use...Let me clarify, when I say JDWME was the designer I mean the icons being at the bottom, the clock and date being at the top, etc.
While other themers may theme it and make it look different, it will still retain JDWME's layout that he chose to use for the lockscreen.

The music hasn't been fixed, it still says "Music controller, work in progress!" I can't wait for the music control to happen, I've been longing for it for a while, as someone who uses his phone regularly (~3 hours a day) to listen to music. I even dabbled with Hero for the lock-screen music controls, but Hero was just far too slow.

Do you know if this is regarding your lock screen or specific themes. When receiving calls it current stays on the lock screen so i am unable to see who is calling unless i press menu first. This is ok normally however is rather annoying when catching a call late and having to enter a call blind so to speak.

good work. I do have a concern though. There's a lot of files involved, and this kind of renders the lockscreen usable only for the framework version it was designed for, since further changes (or backwards compatibility) could pose a problem. Do you think it would be possible to have the android.policy instead call on a separate program and launch a custom lockscreen, making it, thus, slightly more modular. Cyanogen's builds are a moving target and, though his framework hasn't changed much lately, i do feel it's going to be useless once he gets more work into donut and abandons cupcake for good.

I need screenshots of your battery position...In the newest updates the battery should always be centered, make sure you have the newest updates...
The last icon, undetermined yet what it will be, is inactive.
As for the problem with the lockscreen not unlocking when a call comes in, this is not a lockscreen problem, rather it is a problem with my status bar mod. I believe I may have found a bug in Googles code....Still looking into it...
Also, this will still be good for donut. Cyan is going to implement this into his source and it will be available on all builds there on. As for making a custom app for the lockscreen, calling a method in android.policy.jar... It would still require changes being made to these files which would have to be done on every rom, and it would still be rom specific...so it wouldnt solve anything...I have provided my source so this can be put into other builds....

Have you tried the colorChange.jar thread? I use that everytime an update comes out with the files from the lockscreen and have not had an issue

if you did this without flashing the ROM in between, then you're in for quite a number of FCs from multiple programs

ok, I found an easy way to take them with an app =) I'm uploading them now, I'll edit OP when done.
I'm working on a new dialer right now, because the stock one pisses me off... Does anyone know how to get into all the Blur images for the launcher, btw? I'm trying to find the images for the app dock and stuff, but everything I have is odexed and I can't seem to find it...
EDIT: Ok, I've run into a bit of a snare. I edited the dialer keys, but they are only showing up on the dialpad that is used in-call. They looks great, but I can't find where to put the images to have them replace the normal keys too. Thanks =)

you need to edit phone.apk and contacts.apk.
ok, I got the dialer working, I also got the app launcher skinned and the blur backgrounds added. If all goes well, then this will be close to 0.3!

very nice theme. i got tired of all the "black" themes and gave this one a try. seems like there are a couple of bugs though, Gmail (process com.google.android.gm) force closes every time i try to open it. when i first boot up, i get this message process com.google.android.partnersetup has stopped unexpectedly.
and a couple of minor suggestions, i really like the see through window shade and wondered if it's something that you can modify on this one. and the black font on the steel gray buttons can be hard to read.
i look forward to future updates, but for noe, i'm going back to the base theme.
Thanks for the feedback yeah, I had planned on changing the buttons a bit to make them more easily readable. I had problems with a few apps at first too, but I did a full wipe and reinstalled and it works now. Does anyone know how to change the text color on the buttons without changing all of the text on the device?
Yeah, I should've wiped, but have wiped each of the last two days and honestly didn't feel like doing it again

Ok, just finished up v0.4 I edited the dialer, fixed the warp home screen tab, and a few other things. Uploading now!

man i love your theme...its perfect, the thing i don't want to change is Home screen. Keep this launcher, plz don't put this transparent launcher that we can see in others themes.

I'm not sure why my phone doesn't like this theme. Had same issue as before, so I fixed permissions and nothing. So I decided to wipe and got a black screen after the splash screen. The animations are sweet, hopefully futures releases will play better with my g1

I would try repartitioning, but I understand if you don't want to do that =) I'm uploading a slimmer version without all of the unused apk's, maybe this will play nicer? Try doing a complete wipe and flashing this new one afterward

What ROM are you using? You might want to try it out once I upload the slim versions to see if it works. I don't know if it would or not to be honest.

Hey everyone, I have been down at david1171's place for the past week and he's been teaching me how to theme. Seeing as this is the first go-round for me, I would appreciate any and all feedback you care to give.
This dark theme is my adaptation of david1171's Minus-X theme and includes brandenk's app drawer tab and a calendar template from Ted417 (thanks guys). I have posted a barebone version of the theme for cyanogen roms cause the different adp google apps can break on i know at least the 32a magics so this is without google apps or the lockscreen, the dvanced launcher is included though. Add-ons include David1171's skinned 2.0 apps, Stericsons lockscreen, an add-on for Google Nav
Special thanks to david1171 (buy the man some noodles) and pretty much everyone that he thanks for his theme, ted417, brandenk and pershoot for keeping up Stericson's lockscreen. If I forgot anyone, please shoot david a PM or find me on androidoverdrive.com and I will include your name as well.

what errors are it throwing up? saying you can't get it to work does no one any good for debugging your problem. what ROM are you using? is it on a mytouch or a g1? are you trying to use the version with the google apps?
The new dialer and boot screen look sweet. Lol funny story about the boot screen. My daughter was playing with my G1 and she rebooted it by mistake. So when the boot screen comes up i hear her start to wine. After about a min she throws the fone at me bursts into tears and tryes to hide. Now she doesnt even want to touch my g1 lmfao!
pretty decent update new screen shots, more from that fool later.

Sorry about that. I'm using dwang 1.13 on g1. i've got the zip for navigation so, i don't need that. it boots ok but gets stuck at the android boot screen. The button lights come on like it is going to work but never gets any further. backlight goes off. I can then press menu to get it back on but it is still stuck at the android screen....any thoughts?
Sounds like a bootloop, try doing a wipe or it could be something on the ext partition hanging it up, it should boot no problem on dwang 1.13, I have tried it and it worked perfectly
If you are able to pull the notif bar pulldown than it is an advanced launcher crash, you could have gotten a bad d/l so try red/ling the theme if that doesn't work than wait for the dwang v08 that should be coming out later, a version could also be made without the advanced launcher also later on if requested

downloading the newest version and going to try it now.
Its here... this is a hybrid of some new and old, I asked permission from the ppl I sampled from, minus some of the various icons i manipulated from iconspedia.com... but credit goes out to manup456, david1171, opasha, sir*mez and a few others, including XDA in general for hosting a site full of such genius that could teach a newb like me a thing or two...
Some of what she includes:
- Custom APK's (Handcent, Facebook, Myspace, Backup for Root, Ringdroid, Google Finance, Bible, Pandora, Audio widget, Astro, Backgrounds, Terminal, the standard 1.6, plus a few more that i cant remember...)
- Custom Dialer, Launcher, Lockscreen, Caller Id Screen, Keyboard... too much to think of, its late... Ill be more detailed tomorrow
Im gonna do some patch updates cause im short on time, but tomorrow she should be up and complete... this is just a taste test.
Tomorrow or the next days update:
- Custom Calendar, Myspace, Facebook, and updated versions of some of the apps..
- Re-Zip Align and Optipng some of them (been too busy to do them all... Job, Gym, Work, plus GF lol)
- Fix main wallpaper, Add a few
- Extra Modded Apk folder so you can choose what you'd like
- Cyanogen Version
- Custom Smilies
- Better Boot Screen
- Fix a images in the dialer (edit tab pics, add gloss to the buttons, etc)
but thats it for now, try it out.

i had this problem and i solved it by using the embed in forum link on the right hand side on imageshack when you open each screenshot, hope this helps
ps just paste the text directly in the message body dont use the embed image option also place a space between each link

so i do apologize about the delay, im still working out a few kinks and putting in a couple glossy touches... theres a lot of subtleties that Ive focused on, cause im a detail fanatic. I just suck at photoshop, so if anyone wants to help me out with some of the graphics, Id love the help, just shoot me a PM. Im going to try to steer away from doing too many incremental updates. Itll be more of a wham bam thank you man, but if they come along itll just update over the current version.
tonight though, the first release should be up

Flashed this morning. The theme itself looks awesome, though I don't want a majority of the apps you've included with this theme. Some problems I've found...
*Can't access WIDGETS when long pressing on home screen because you get "Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." (Force Close)
*Can't access SETTINGS when clicking Menu > Settings because you get "Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." (Force Close)
*Market icon stays red/black until you click on the Market and exit, it changes back to green/white.
The two biggest problems I've found right now are the Widgets/Settings because I can't put anything on the home screen without getting a FC and I can't delete any of the apps. that I don't want because of FC's as well. Going to flash back to Droid Red by Opasha until these are fixed, once fixed I will definitely be using your theme. Keep up the good work.
Suggestion...can you make an optional red/black icon for ChompSMS because I do not use Handcent. Will post more later after I check everything out on your theme. =) Thanks and keep up the good work! Look forward to the updates!

yea, the apps get installed to the system partition so you have to open up the zip and delete what you dont want.
As far as the force closes, I installed it once as a test run on a fresh build and it worked just fine. If you did these things and still get fc's... Go to settings, applications, manage applications, find the apps that force close and delete the cache... its a simple solution you can do without wiping. I know about the market switching back, its because it updates you to the newest version (which is the same, but they added bill to account)
to fix, just follow the same steps as above, but choose "uninstall application"
It does not allow me to go into SETTINGS I get a FC message as soon as I click on the SETTINGS icon. I wiped data before flashing this theme. I'm going to wipe data and ext's now then reflash Dwang and reflash your theme to see what happens.
UPDATE: Wiped data/ext's...flash Dwang 1.17 and then your ROM. Those two problems are fixed. =)

ok, that will work for sure... i think the problem was that i optipng'd and zipaligned the system apps at full threshold, i just read in a forum that it can corrupt some of them... but to answer your question, yes... it will work with 1.17, thats what im using.... with zero force closes.
