I thought Bloo sucked.

The new free version of bloo that the dev released is actually pretty good. Its being updated a bit more regularly than the old one as well.

I AGREE

moto droid!

So you guys giving answers I assume you've tested all three droid/cliq/bloo?
It'd be nice if someone can do a comparison. I personally have Babbler and the Droid Facebook app. I like the native facebook app but I use Babbler for the lacking features in the native app. Mainly being able to upload a video and being able choose what album a photo gets uploaded to (I suspect that with the native app photos will always be uploaded to the "Mobile Uploads" album and they're not going to change that).
I've never seen the Cliq Facebook app (and didn't realize it was different, I guess it's tied down to the whole MotoBlur thing?)
So yeah, if some has had a chance to test a few of those and could do a comparison that would be awesome.

Honestly, Babbler is by far better imo.
You mean the native app that isn't the official app right?
MAYBE
The facebook app on android market is the official app despite what it says, if not, check the Facebook page and find the right information.
Thanks
PD: Also I'll post in a few hours a link to download GAMEBOID an Game boy advande emulator with 127 Games to you my friends.

FBook is little more than a wrapper for http://x.facebook.com.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

Why not just goto it in the browser then? Same thing.
Bloo/Babbler are better and native. The new Facebook for Android hopefully will be improved to the level of those, or better.

the native android facebook app is going to be killer, just give it time. FBook was good, i liked it while i was using it, but it was slow and didnt give me full accessability. I tried AndroidBook, it was good too, but was also slow. the native app is fast and streamlined, exactly what a facebook client app should be.

Twitter Facebook and MySpace combined app

Hello All
I have just stumbled across an app called Vodafone Application Update (on the Market), although this does not appear to be an official Vodafone app (at least not a UK one anyway).
The app itself sits in the Taskbar and monitors your social networks pulling into a combined inbox similar to the Motoblur with the exception of the inbox.
I have found it pretty useful and wondered if anyone had heard of it before.
I cannot vouch for its authenticity or as to whether it works on other networks (as I'm on Vodafone anyhow)
As its a free software not a paid for app if someone can tell me how to extract an apk from my phone I'll post a link for those that cannot see it on the Market.
Thanks to XDA for making my whole Android experience better
Just trying it on T-Mobile UK, seems to be working so far, will update in a moment. Nice find
EDIT: Sure seems to work for facebook atleast, I don't use any of the other services. Awesome .

Good news if it had a widget it would be awesome
also working perfect on US Tmobile G1. Thanks.. never would have known about it.
Pure messenger widget, just a few posts down from this one seems to be a good widget interpretation of what you're looking for.

apps dont slow down phones...they eat up memory and wear down batteries.
Use task managers and kill widgets to control these memory leeching, battery eating apps, and your phone will speed up.

im app

well im looking for the app that has "im yahoo n msn messenger" i saw it in one of my friend rom but cant find it... where can i download it.. i remember android had it but cant find it...
I'd like it as well
i think the name of the app was "androind client... forgot the rest...
Android 1.5 had that built in. 2.1 doesnt. I'd use Meebo. Thats the only halfway decent IM client out there for Android.

[Q] Tablet friendly IM App?

One week for today I'll be getting my gTab and I am new to Android in general. Are there any IM clients that play well with the gTab?
Scott
Honestly... I have yet to find an IM app that doesn't play well. I should also state: that is if you're looking to chat only. Getting into video is a whole other can of worms.

Just straight up IM, no need for video at the moment. New to android so I don't know the popular IM apps at the moment, should probably just search the market and see what is well rated.
Scott
For chat they all seem to work well.
I like imo.im the most.
It just looks better to me,
Its one of the newer im apps.

Personally i use ebuddy which incorporates all my gmail accounts yahoo accounts facebook chat accounts and etc.
I forgot about ebuddy. I tried it before when I was running stock with enhancement pack and it wouldn't work for me. Now im on tnt lite 4.2 and haven't tried it again.
I went with Trillian; I'd been using the PC version for ages, and love the elegance of what they have on Android. YMMV.
I just use google voice. Click on your contact's cell phone number (the smiley face to the right) and text away. You have to set up google voice once and you are good to go. Do a search on this forum for the thread on this topic

seconded.
i've tried ebuddy, im+ and a few others and Trillian seems to offer the cleanest UI in my opinion.

google+

Just an FYI - looks like google released a fairly big update for the Google+ app. Also from what I hear, they opened G+ registrations to the public:
-'hangouts' is now available via the app
-Huddle is now 'messenger'
-you can share photos via messenger
-added notification settings to the app
-improved app notifications
-other improvements and updates

I can confirm it is true! I signed up last night. Gonna see what it is all about.
it will take a few minutes to get accustomed to it but its much better than fb, imo.
It does take some getting used to, but I too think it has the potential to be better than fb. The only thing missing is the mass number of people. That should come in time. I expect fb to fall in a similar fashion that my space fell.
I think I will look into google+ and maybe sign up as well. I just don´t know if the world need another social network...
