i broked my phone :( - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

ok so i just attempted to flash my sprint tp2 with the latest version of The Cell Pro ROM and once it rebooted it doesnt go past the TOUCH pro2 screen. help! this isnt my first time flashing but this is my first problem ive come across. i really hope i didnt kill my phone

You need to give more information...Did you hardspl your phone first? Did you security unlock it too? Did you verify that it took the hardspl/unlock if you did.. More information is need before we can help.

This is the GSM forum, they probably should honestly rename it to that in the title, if you go to the rhodium forum base theres a section specifically for CDMA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517. If you search around there are other people that have done the same thing (flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone) that can give you steps to fix it.

I'm gonna guess that you flashed a GSM ROM from this forum on your CDMA device. Go here, download any ROM, extract it, and rename the .NBH file you extracted to RHODIMG.nbh. Now, place RHODIMG.nbh on a MicroSD card (which is formatted to FAT32), stick it in your phone while it is off, and press the power button while holding the Volume Down key. Now, follow the instructions that should be presented, and let the ROM flash. When it finishes (it'll say when it's done), soft reset and hopefully your device should be fine.

ill give the microsd card flash a shot. ill let you guys know how it goes. thanks for the help.. for the time being i switched back to my old mogul

phones back in action. thank for the tip, but still one small problem. I flashed mighty rom and looks and works great for the most part, but i cant connect to the internet. Data wont connect nor will wifi. wifi will detect networks but itll just keep trying to connect. with data an error message just keeps popping up everytime i try to connect. some help would be great

did the cell pro rom contain a radio?
if so, i think you should get the original radio that came with your device (Att or sprint ... etc) you can find them in the sticky in this forum.

i just checked the cell pro rom thread and i didnt see anything about a different radio.

You have a Sprint Touch Pro 2. Sprint uses a CDMA radio, NOT a GSM radio. the ONLY roms that you will be able to use are in the Rhodium CDMA subforum. If the first rom didn't load quite right, try a different one. You'll get MUCH more help in the sub-forum dedicated to your device than here. We only know GSM devices here, sorry.

Yup as others say, just flash a CDMA ROM. Your phone is probably just fine...

No Love on the Shift

Ok here is my problem with the shift. I cannot get into snapview. I mean it not there. I have done the "clear shift" from HTC. Updated the ShagCTL( vista). I have even tried to flash a new rom to the device. No Love. What else can i do to get the WINMO side working again.
When I tried the flash a new rom(Thinking that I had somehow bricked or corrupted the rom) I get to the bootloader and I even see the usb connection in the tri-colored screen. but I cannot get the rom flashed.
BTW .. I have the 9500 CMDA version.. If anybody has any further ideas please let me know.. I would love to use this device but without sound( which I foun out is controlled by the WinMo side) it pretty much useless to me
Help
double check or clarify which shift you have because CDMA is x9000 and GSM is x9500. that should help you to find the correct rom you should be looking for on the forum with seach and trying to flash to your shift
Still no Joy.

in the forum there is a link for the orginal rom I also hjave this but at current do not have any way to upload or make available to you for about 2 months or you can try and MP comex she should have a copy of the orginal CDMA rom as well. also check to be sure that the display brightness is turned up all the way on the mobile side you can also try some of the other tools. last question is how did your snapvue get in the state that it is currently in?
The only thing I can think of is when I did a full restore of the device and it asked if I wanted to overwrite the MBR . I think that is what did it... That is the only thing I can think of.. but at the same time they should be separate at least that was my thought.
they are separate and 1 should not affect the other

Last Night was my first time flashing a ROM - I am bricked

Please help me. I am freaking out. I flashed the HardSPL last night without a hitch. It went exactly like the instuctions said it would. Then I chose a ROM that I thought I liked and I downloaded the .zip file. In the thread for the ROM, there were no installation instructions so I just followed the instructions on the HardSPL thread. I extracted the files to my PC. I made sure I had Active Sync and internet connection. I had 100% battery life. I ran the CUSTOMRUU.exe file on my PC. I followed all of teh instruction on the installer. It was almost identical to the HardSPL installer so I was feeling confident. The installer finished and I clicvked the FINISH button. My phone then turned on, vibrated quickly, and showed the Touch Pro2 screen. That is all that happened. When I sof reset, the screen goes blank and it immediately happens again. I took my battery out to try to reset it that way, but when I put it back in I don't even need to ppush any buttons. It just vibrates and goes to the TP2 screen. I looked in the bootlocker and it says:
RHOD400 32M SS-BC
SPL-1.00.01Nex
MicroP(LED) 0x0A MicroP(KEY) 0x04
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA
501,520 775,190
222,843 Calibrated
Serial
I have, had, a Sprint Rhodium Touch Pro2
I sucessfully flashed the HardSPL
I attempted to flash Shadowline's new ROM for Rhodium :
RELEASE_Rhodium_28014M_Shadowline
I am heading to the store now to buy a new SD card to try to flash a new ROM that way. Should I flash the HardSPL again? Is there a stable ROM that I should flash? Any warnings or tips before I start?
Thank you all for all of your posts on this site. Even though I am really frustrated and scared right now, I am still glad I learned about all of this from you.
well Shadowline Series is for GSM.
Well, you flashed a gsm rom onto a cdma device, which is bad news. Try flashing a stock cdma rom onto your device, and you may be able to recover it.
get a cdma rom from the cdma forum
What is with the recent influx of people who can't read?
You've got the right HardSPL, i.e. the CDMA one. But it sounds like you've flashed a GSM ROM. You can re-flash a CDMA ROM though, don't worry. Go to the CDMA sub-forum and have a look there for ROMs, or ppcgeeks.com (who tend to specialise more on CDMA phones/ROMs).
You're right. I should have read more carefully. I thought when I redad that you could use any cooked ROM after the HardSPL flash, there wasn't an exception. I thought that I was prepared. Please don't say any other bad thing as I feel bad enough already. I think I learned my lesson to read more carefully by the fact that my new phone no longer works. I don't need bashed by anyone trying to reinforce the point. Thanks for your responses though.
Would someone please point me to the Stock ROM download that I need to try?

There you go http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91940
Everyone makes mistakes. I remember when I first bricked my Tilt 2. Oddly it was with a Shadowline rom as well. Not my fault it was my laptop but its a bad feeling to brick a new phone.
Thank you.
Since my carrier is Sprint, I should use the Sprint ROM? I know that is a dumb question, but I don't think I can be too carefull now. I want to try to do everything right this time.
I will download the .exe file.
Extract it using WinRAR
Copy the .nbh file to the root directory of my FAT32 formatted SD card.
Change the name of the file to RHODIMG.nbh
open the bootloader page by pressing the down volume button and the soft reset button together.
"Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update" - I'm a liitle concerned
Then I restart my phone and I'm happy again.
Please let me know if there is something I am leaving out or some tip/trick I can do to prevent further damage.
Thanks again.
WHich file do I use?
I downloaded the .exe file and it has two xxxx_signed.nbh files.
Which .nbh file do I put on the SD Card?
SPL_signed.nbh
OR
RUU_signed.nbh
**EDIT**
I read that the file should probably be the RUU_signed.nbh.
Thanks again for all of the replies. I am not giving up.
The update completed successfully.
Phone is still broken.
Is there any hope?
**EDIT**
I popped out the SD card to pack everything up back in the box and the phone started!!!!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAD POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY AND HELP TO OFFER!
I've learned my lesson.
You don't have to use a Sprint ROM, but you *must* use CDMA-specific ROMs and radio versions. Just make sure to read very carefully the details of any ROM you wish to flash. If it doesn't say then it's probably a GSM ROM and you should avoid it.
Glad it's working now though
You should consider yourself lucky lol, my first experience flashing was with my HTC Titan with nTelos (CDMA) and I never did get it working fully again after flashing... And this was after months of going back and forth with customer service, tech support, etc... so I learned my lesson... Cancelled nTelos plan, switched to T-Mobile and bought a TP2 and haven't had any problems flashing since. But I was pretty upset about the Titan after I messed it up. Didn't brick it but couldn't get over 1X speeds which kinda defeats the purpose of a smartphone lol. Glad you got it working and more importantly learned your lesson without it costing you.

the thing happens to me too although I use GSM ROMs for my GSM device. When it happens I know that it's because of the PRHODIMG file in the root of my SD which I kept in there after flashing. So like you did I get out the SD card and then start the phone. No problems. I just have to move the RHODIMG file from root of SD. It didn't always happen this way before but now it does. like you described earlier the phonescreen gets stuck with messesage in the middle "serial"

u'll have to make the stock ROM ready to flash from SD. It means the .npb has to be extracted from your stock .exe. I don't know how to do that and I suppose neither do you . What I do is I create a folder called "ROMs" and put couple of ROMs in there with their folders. When i need to flash one I just copy the RHODIMG file to the root of SD and after i finished flashing, remove the SD first, set the phone up and then insert back the SD card and move the RHODIMG file back to it's place in the ROMs folder.

Actually, WinRAR extracts the .npb file from an .exe. At least that's how I got the Sprint Stock .npb file to put on my SD card. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post though. Are you suggesting that I can't just keep the stock RHODIMG.npb file on my SD card and have that as the only thing on the card and only use that SD card as my stock ROM flash?
Similar brick of my phone
Hi guys.
I have a similar problem from the first post but I'm trying to recover my brick HTC Touch Pro 2 - TMobile GSM. I think I flashed a CDMA ROM onto my phone instead of a GSM ROM.
My tri-color screen says:
RHOD210 32M SS-BC
SPL-0.79.0000
MicroP(LED) vA
MicroP(KEY) v4
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
NO TP MFG DATA
Serial
I don't know what to do next or how to unbrick.
I tried flashing a GSM ROM through USB and microSD but it just stops at the white screen with the loading bar at 0%. It doesn't move at all. Tried so many times and just freezes at that screen.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Please help.
Did you try pulling the battery out 1 min. and then doing a hard reset? Hold down End, Send, and Power until the screen goes into the bootloader and then to the reset screen. Then press volume up.

Am I Screwed?

Hello Everybody!
I recently ended up with a RHOD400 from Sprint. I use a T-Mobile affiliate. I know these phones have a SIM card slot. The phone is Security Unlocked and I flashed a HardSPL to it. Can this be used on my T-Mobile Afilliate? I realize its a GSM network but I see the SIM slot. Here comes the fun part. I tried flashing 21905_WCX_RHODIUM_TILT2_UPDATED_APPS_TABS and now I'm stuck on the splash screen. Have I bricked this phone or is there still hope for a noob move like this? After doing some reading I found Task29 and used it to clear the storage to try to get a different rom to work. So basically, what I need to know is
A:Is this phone bricked?
B: Can I make this phone work on a GSM carrier?(It is SIM unlocked and CID unlocked I think, but not sure if it still is after Task29 cleared the memory).
C: What ROM would I need to do this?
D: I am familiar with flashing as I have flashed several ROMs with my ATT Tilt. I was pretty sure I did everything correctly, so I'm not sure what happened.
Any help would be lifesaving because I dont want to further screw myself.

It seems that you may have bricked your device. You may be able to prepare a goldcard using QMAT and unbrick it this way.
If you manage to unbrick your device then there is a way to get it working with AT&T or T-Mobile. However, you will get EDGE (2.5G) at best. You can use the method described here or look for the OliPro SIM unlock. Keep in mind that both of these methods cost money. You can then flash it with a proper CDMA ROM like this one.
Note: if it was already HardSPL'd like you said, then you will only have to flash the ROM. If you are not getting service on a GSM carrier, though, you will have to SIM unlock again. Task 29 should not lock the SIM or change the radio, so that should not have had any effect. Also, once you've used Task 29, you will need to flash a new ROM using the RUU. To do this, put your phone into bootloader mode (hold down the volume down key right when the phone starts up)
I wish you the best of luck!
I actually had the OliPro SIM unlock done already, paid the money and am downloading the ENERGY ROM as we speak. Should know in a few if it will work. :CROSSFINGERS:
Ok, now I got the rom flashed over(Yay!), but I still dont know how to get it to work with my sim card. It still reads as Security Unlocked on the bootloader, and ever recognizes my Sim card contacts, but when I make a call it gives me a message saying my account could not be validated. Do I need to do something to get it onto GSM? Or do I just need a new radio? If it is a new radio, will I need GSM or CDMA from now on? And speaking of which, will I need CDMA or GSM roms for this pphone? Sorry about all the questions, I have always used ATT& T-Mobile phones in the past, so this was never an issue.
Ok, very strange. It says I have a voicemail, knows all my SIM contacts, reads my weather automatic, but I still cant make a call. I did another HardSPL, and did the SIM unlock again, went in and changed the phone band to GSM, just to be sure, but it still has a voice message when I try to make a call that says "Your account cannot be validated, please contact customer service". I'm pretty lost at this point so any help would be great. I am glad to know this phone isn't bricked though
You're in the wrong forum. This particular forum is for the GSM Rhodium, you have a CDMA forum (albeit one that can work on GSM networks too). So you need the CDMA version of HardSPL and a CDMA ROM to make it work (if it hung on the splash screen then you flashed the wrong type of ROM).
Folks in the CDMA sub-forum may be able to advise you about getting it to roam on a GSM network. Also try ppcgeeks.com , which tends to have more CDMA users.

I'm actually not stuck on the splash screen anymore. I flash The ENERGY rom over and it worked in the sense that I'm no longer stuck in splash screen. Now I can Get sim contacts, weather. I just cant make calls or send text, Internet ect. I just get a voice message that says "your account cannot be validated"
I'm still not sure
ok, but you're still in the wrong forum though. You're asking questions about a phone with CDMA ROM, and this sub-forum is for GSM ROMs. I suggest going to NRG's thread on ppcgeeks.com, there's a link to that in his thread here.
UPDATE: Finally got it, just needed to search for networks again. I thank everyone for the help.
And will remember the CDMA sub-forum in the future

Tried to Flash Radio on Sprint Tp2, using Tmobile Sim. Now phone cant start or charge

OMG HELLPP!! I was trying to put in a new radio for my sprint TP2 with Tmobile Service. I had a radio of version 2.3 something. Anyways I decided to download a radio and I extracted the nbh file from my computer using winrar. i put the extrated nbh file in my storade card section(no folders) I renamed the 4.1943.nbh file(downloaded radio nbh file) to RHOMIMG.nbh and used the bootloader program to update my radio as I do with my roms. After it said successful finished i pressed the reset button and it turned off. I waited but nothing happened. Now I cant turn on the phone or even get it to charge. Anyone know whats wrong?? This is my first time flashing a rom. Someone. Anyone let me know how I can fix this.
The Radio was the 4.49.25.91
I have unlocked sprint touch pro 2 phone. Using my USA Tmobile SIM card.
Sorry I can't be of any help, but I'm curious is your Sprint TP2 a hybrid of both CDMA and GSM?
You are probably screwed. You flashed a gsm radio on your cmda phone. Try flashing a cmda radio back on it and if you are lucky it will work again. If not, you can probably throw your phone away.
From what i've read in the past, people who did the same thing couldn't get there phone back to work.
If you are sure you have a cmda device then flash a cmda radio. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578659
Dude you are not as screwed as you think. I did the same with my tp2. All you need to do is flash a factory Rom. You can search onthe forums for details. Btw , the tp2 is dual mode and can be switched at will if properly unlocked.

I think you're confusing flashing a ROM with flashing a radio. If he only flashed a GSM ROM onto a CDMA phone, then as you say, he can simply flash a new CDMA ROM. But if he flashed a GSM radio (as seems to be the case) onto a CDMA phone, then he's totally screwed. JTAG re-programming of the radio is needed. So the only hope is to try a warranty replacement and *hope* they don't figure out what he really did.
Damn.. I didnt know about the radio GSM OR CDMA. I have a sprint phone which i guess is CDMA. I got a radio from this forum XDA in the radio section where I downloaded the "4.49.25.91". Is all the radios on this XDA forum GSM?? If thats so then thats the reason why. But how is all GSM and no CDMA radio.... god..
I cant reset or nothing I tried. As I said the charger light wont even turn on when its connected to the charger. Theres no light on the phone what so ever. IDK is said successful after I flashed the rom.... then I hit the reset button and since then it wont charge nor turn on...
Yes, all radios in this forum are for GSM TP2s. Sorry but I think you're screwed, totally bricked.

have you tried going into the boot loader.. and then flashing another radio cdma ofcoarse.. but yeah try going into the bootloader by pressing volume down and the power key.. after you do that connect to your pc as always and flash another radio.. im not shure if this will work but im really hoping that it will.. gud luck..
or if wat i just posted doesnt work you can try to flash task 29 into it also in the bootloader mode and after you do that go bak into the bootloader and flash a radio again.. im pretty certin that this will work cus what task 29 does is formats your phones memory.. oh and since this will format your phones memory after you do task 29 and flash another radio you also have to flash another rom into it.. its going to be a long process but if its to get your phone to boot back up then go for it..
task29 doesn't touch the radio area. And I would put money on the fact that he won't be able to get it into the bootloader, unfortunately.

well if he is able to get into the bootloader then hes good but if hes not able to do that then yeah i think your right hes pretty much ****ed. and gots an expensive paper weight.. lol
from what i just read, it seems he flashed a RADIO and not a rom, in this case you are screwed, regardless if your Sprint TP2 is unlocked to use on a GSM network you still can only flash a CDMA Radio and NOT a GSM radio, as they have different radio hardware....if im right
but anyways you got a paperweight, like other people said, try you luck at a Warranty Exchange
Lets say I get a Tmobile touch pro 2 phone and I have Tmobile service. It obviously can work but can I still unlock it so i can use like maxsense and still use my Tmobile sim card?

You can do a HardSPL and then flash a new ROM with maxsense, if that is what you mean. A T-Mobile SIM card will always work with a T-Mobile TP2.

i dnt know what ROM you flashed but if you got stuck on a white screen it might of been a bad flash due to maybe: a bad download or wrong SPLor something else (multiple reasons) first make sure you are hardSPL also that you phone is GSM & to get the best answer on you question post on the correct threat where you got the ROM from.

Sorry that's not right. The CDMA phones also have a SIM slot for when roaming.
The best way to tell is to take out your battery and look at the phone model number, near to where the serial number is written. GSM phones are RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD300 (and variants which alter the last two digits). CDMA phones are RHOD400 and RHOD500.
MR.X_RhodiumW_2.5 is a cmda rom. Flash a gsm rom. (check battery first)
If you did flash the wrong type of ROM, it's easy to fix. Just put the phone into bootloader (hold the Volume Down button and keep it down while you press reset, and wait for the tri-coloured screen to appear), connect it to your PC and flash another ROM.
