Mountain bike holder for HD2? - HD2 Accessories

Anyone seen a decent and strong bike holder anywhere for HD2 for the mountainbike?
thanks

The only bike holder I've seen is that one. Though I'm not sure how good is it.

Hello,i've bought this one ( brando ) for my HD :
Available soon for HD2 ...

http://www.geardiary.com/2008/05/23...from-usb-fever-takin-your-tech-into-the-wild/
i had one of these, for my tytnII and it was good, i had memory map ordnance survery running and a cycle computer at the same time it was cool.
but i wouldnt go crazy over jumps and stuff i even had a elastic band round the holder body and bottom of phone and its good enough for cycling around but not actual racing thru forests
hope this helps

do you really want a bike holder?
i think, it looks not so good, if your hd2 have a bike ....

and what abiout the vibrations? won't they cause a problem to the HD2 ???

I need one for on my motorbike... I have my Diamond on a Herbert Richter holder, and it's great - but they don't do one for the HD2 yet, which I acquired 2 days ago!

ufff the mind of having my HD2 at my bike gives me the goosebumps.

RAM mount
I'm pretty satisfied with the solution offered by RAM mount (RAM UNIVERSAL PLASTIC ATV HOLDER).

maybe at w w w . b r o d i t . c o m ???

Try Krusell for HD2 and Multidap clip with bike holder. The best for me. Use to have on my Touch Pro .

I got that one from Hong Kong:
http://4u-kidi.com
Fits the Herbert Richter bar clamp holder I already had for the cradle for my Diamond - So it's solid. The bar clamp that comes with it is rubbish, though - tightened it & it snapped!

I am hoping these guys will do a larger verson of the case that I used with my TP http://www.boxit.net/engine.php?cat=328
On a bike it has to be a waterproof/splashproof holder, those car type mounts would be way too fragile for my liking.

Waterproof, now that would be the Holy Grail... I'm trying to reach that goal by using a silicon case and a good screen protector...

I can't post a outside link... -> so you must copy & paste please

Thanks for letting us all know.
My only concerns are that the http://www.bluetrade.eu/index.php?page=product&id=8720 case found here will do exactly as the free case does, scratch the inside of the screen, and also ensure that all the letters wear off as there is no protection from the keyboard.
the great diffence is that
you can see the external screen when closed
and !!!
there is a belt clip !!!
The one from Case Logic seems promising but I don't think it will fit:
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
Please report when you receive it and post pictures if you can.
Regards,
S.

Let us know once you get the case with the belt clip. I want one like that.
This one will work, and has a velcro belt loop:

I like the looks of the bluetrade.eu one. Cant wait for a mini review. How exactly will the x7500 fit on the belt for daily use.... Will it make you limp?
Looks to be about $49 USD for it after all shipping and paypal tax. The shipping to the US is more than the case costs
Looks to be about the same design as the Piel Frama and about half the price for people in the US. We will see what the quality is when someone gets one.

Thanks looks good indeed.. I did order one asw ell yesterday evening, let's see, they states it will take at least 10 days to deliver...
Hi,
I like the bluetrade one BUT ... I don't think the display will work proparly because the keyboard will a little bit separated from the Athena so the magnet will not recognized the keyboard is there (as it happens with the case it comes with the Athena). This is due to the smalls grips to hold the Athena.
4 weeks ago, I found this camera bag that fits to my Athena.
The brand name is TUCANO (www.tucano.it).
When I'm wearing a suit I use to carry the Athena in my jacket pocket without any kind of case.
But the rest of the time I use to carry a small backpack. For that reason, I was looking for a case which it could be complitely closed.
As I said, the one I'm using is from Tucano and is a camerga bad. There are several sizes. My one is 'Medium'.
I hope this would help anyone.
I will add some pictures so I'm sure you will have a better idea.
Best regards,
Alberto

i received it yesterday
... don't fit or nearly
X7500 gets in with dificulty but it gets
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
there 's 1,5 cm left
so it's get in but it is too stretch and it is hard to get in and get then out
I'm trying to stretch it with something biger but after 24 hours still the same
it depends on the using of each one but for me for a constant use every day it s not usefull at hall
but if the "forced" stretch work i will tell you
for the bluetrade case still not received
i found this one too

It's under the HTC X7500 category on their website so I'm hoping it fits. Aesthetically, it does not really tick any of my boxes but I've actually ordered one to try out until I get the case I really like.

It does look better but personally, I do need a belt-clip/attachment option for carrying it about.
belt clip
I says it comes with one!
you can also use the aircompact casing for a nintendo DS. it fits perfectly with side pockets and extra flap in the middle to protect your lcd and the keyboard from rubbing against each other

And protects the keyboard from any attempt to type on it.
It's not a BAD case; some aspects are well thought out, but it has NO belt clip option, and the keyboard is covered with a plastic sheet that warps and isn't quite flexible enough - even when new, before it had warped so much the ZXC row of keys was utterly unusable, pressing E or R would often send a half-finished reply to an SMS as it activated the soft key as well.
After a month of ownership the plastic was so bad, I traced the edges of the keyboard and cut a section out, leaving only the top row of keys covered and an edge around to hold the keyboard down.
Oh, didnt realise it had a crappy plastic cover over the keyboard! I assumed it had a magnet on the back like the original case... damn.

Is there a decent bike mount?

The Sapphire, along with the MyTracks app and music output, seems like the ultimate bike computer. I'd like to replace my wired computer, but I can't find a decent mount.
I've seen this:
http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=HTC&model=HTC+Magic&skuno=81612
but I don't really trust it, plus it provides no water resistance.
I've seen this:
http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045072079076045065081051085/Default.aspx
but it doesn't allow touch through on capacitive devices.
And I've seen this:
http://www.otterbox.com/2600-series/2600-series-pda-case/
Which would still require a bike mounting solution and gets pretty expensive.
Has anyone seen anything better?
i just use a car mount zipped tied to the handle bar cross frame - works a treat. Not water resistant granted!

which car mount?
It was a suction one i had for my HTC HD from Ebay, because it was large it fits snug when i have the magic in it with its silicon case on
Sounds somewhat appealing since I could just put the phone in a ziploc. Is it something like this one?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Bicycle-Bike-Handlebar-Mount-Holder-for-HTC-Touch-HD_W0QQitemZ260445807421QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item3ca3c7a33d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
or is it more like this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Bike-Bicycle-Holder-Mount-for-HTC-Touch-Pro-HD-Diamond_W0QQitemZ350247298931QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item518c5da773&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Those are better, mines zip-tied to the handlebars.
Right. Those both have a handlebar mount thing, but my concern is getting something that the PDA won't come out of.
Is your PDA holder part like those one of the links?
Come to think of it, since you mention zip ties, maybe the Otterbox is best anyway. I could drill a couple of holes, zip tie and then add some silicone caulk to shut out the water.
are those universal bike mounts?

I dont know, I have two and have had them for years, one I bought maybe 12 years ago, the other came attached to a second hand bike I bought.
The HL-500 is very common. As cateye says on their website....
The halogen light that set the standard, the HL-500 is the most copied light in the history of the bicycle industry. CatEye HL-500 was the first bicycle light to use a halogen bulb. The original. A classic. And after more than 15 years, still very popular!
you can probably pick one new for about 10-12 bucks at cheapest. Check second hand bike shops, they are so common you will probably find one there, or even a regular second hand store.

Brodit - HD2 Passive Holder

Just to let you all know, the HD2 Passive Holder is now listed on Brodits website, it's not available to buy yet (just says 'coming soon') but there are pictures.
I emailed Brodit asking them when it will be released and this was their reply:
"This is under construction will be ready any day so please check our website for updates."
Mmmh nice, but need an active one
Hope they make a model voor landscape
Always liked Brodit...hope they can come up with the "goods" for the HD2 soon.

I got my Brodit holder today. To be honest, it fits a bit too 'firmly' for my taste. Since the HD2 has these 'rubberized' sides I'm afraid it will rub them off as I keep squeezing it in and pulling it out.
I have no intention of using the phone landscape in the car, IMHO that's a waste of time and space as most of the time I'M more interested in the forward direction than what is left and right of me, so portrait suits me just fine. I don't need it to copy the layout of a GPS to use it as one.
So now I have a piece of wood wedged into the holder to 'untighten' the unit a bit.
This is my first HTC with the rubberized exterior. Does anyone have experience with the outside material and how lasting it is? IIRC the Touch Pro had issues with this rubbing off too quickly.
TIA

Sports armband?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has one, or has seen one, that will accomodate the HD2? Should be collecting my HD2 within next couple of hours and would love to fire up run.gps for a test this evening...
I use the Run.gps branded armband. It's really designed for the HD but works okay with the HD2
the hardware buttons do get covered by the case, but I don't tend to use anything other than the power button when I'm out and that's easy to press.
also the cutout for the headphones is in the wrong place. If you decide to use a corded headphone, then you would need to cut a small hole in the neoprene.
other than that it's great
little bit off, ...
nice to see some run.gps users ou here.
does the run.gps work well with the 800*480?
thanks!
Yes, there is an armband for the HD2 Leo :
Hello Leo users,
I have searched the internet, and up till now, dec 2009, there still isn't a running armband for the HD2. and i could not wait...
As mentioned above, RunGPS sell's an armband that all most fits. You can also buy it under the name - Tune belt / Tunebelt AB82 - it's fully Neoprene, and fits "like a glove" on your upper of lower arm. Thight, the HD2 will not slip out of it during running.
It fit's my HTC HD2 only after a little tweak : removing two sets of stiches at the bottum en re-sow the neoprene. that's it !.
Indeed the 4 standard buttons are hidden, but the Run GPS buttons and screen works verry well.

The Run.gps branded armband isn't the same as the Tunebelt one..
I tried the tunebelt one and preferred the run.gps branded version.
I don't think (despite the similar names) the branded one is made by tunebelt (but I could be wrong).
Tunebelt AB8
Run.gps ABX2
FWIW I don't think the branded one needs your stitch work, (but I may stitch the hole where the original headphone hole was)
Would something like this work or would it be a very tight fit?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-ARMBAND-...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories?hash=item4ceb7913ad
I'm thinking about getting one and reading the size differences between the 3gs and HD2; it could work but i don't know.

And the verdict is.......
straight in the bin. doesn't fit and tbh i don't think you'd fit an iphone in it either.
you could probably mess about modding it to fit but it's fugly enough already
just so you guys know, i bought this and it fits the HD2 perfectly.
The seller was confident saying the HD2 would definitely not fit but i bought it anyways. It's made for the iPhone but the HD2 slides just fine with a bit of stretching and a new whole made for the headphone port.
It's extremely high quality too.

yep same link ! my hd2 is to wide for it? my friends iphone fits ok
It stretches though and doesn't require that much stretching anyways, i'll post a picture of it tomorrow.
I dunno man, not much is available is for the HD2 so i found this as the best alternative.
Bought one of these for £4.99 and it fits no problem!

Why oh why.. doesn't smasung make desktop or window mounts for our phones?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00470Q7X8/ref=s9_simh_gw_p107_d2_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1EXAMQFNMYYRXNX1PBHC&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
http://www.amazon.com/Vehicle-Verizon-Samsung-Fascinate-Galaxy/dp/B0043H2CE8/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_img_b
Ok I've been looking around for a desktop charger or window mount for our phones and found nothing. But yet the other Galaxy class phones have them. Also.. I think each desktop and window mount is diffrent cause I tried the one for verizons Fascinate and it just didn't fit. So that's kinda dumb not to try to keep the mount specs the same where you'd only need to have 1 desktop charger and 1 window mount type.
Have you seen this stand?
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/SGH-I917ZKAATT-product
yay.. kinda generic thoo nice thing about one where you plug your phone into it is you don't have to worry about the port getting damaged from plugging it in and leaving it lay around. eh maybe they'll make it in time because the ATT store doesn't even carry the captivate one.
i have th Samsung one http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-CS01SBEGXAR . It is just OK.
A better solution is to go to Wal*Mart and in their automotive section is this stand. It works great for only $8.
I bought 2 of these in black:
elago M2 stand and dock from Amazon (link not allowed - sorry) @ $24.99 each
I had to bend the bottom prongs out just a little to handle the BodyGlove hard case, but it sits nicely either portrait or landscape. Granted, they aren't cheap but they are nicely made and generic enough that I could use them with a host of different phones.
Hmmm pretty nice find.
http://elagostore.com/elago-M2-StandDock-For-iPhone-4/M/B002OLM56K.htm
Or another choice...
I just received the Clingo stand for my wife's Focus. I like it even more than the elago stand, and it costs about the same. Go to www dot clingo dot com to see it (their price is full retail - again, I bought it through Amazon for something like $25).
This stand has a 360 degree pivoting head and MAN is the grip on the phone strong. It has a feed hole in the stand for the power/sync cord. Perfect for the nightstand while charging.
-Dave
Hmm I was looking at the clingo but some people didn't give it a good rating and explained about it not really holding their phone too well. I was looking for something portable too like

Key chainable one looks nice, and it looks to be a bottle opener too..
I'll probably get 2 of them to try out, because I've been sitting in the coffee shop using my cup to hold my phone up while watching podcasts.. lol
Stay away from the Crabble
The first link - I bought 2 of those a while back, and it SHOULD have been spelled "Crapple". It is nothing more than some stiff cardboard. In a couple of days the stands were virtually unusable and I ended up throwing them out. Seriously, not even a week's use.
The second one below looks interesting as a mobile stand. Still, I am really digging the Clingo stand so far, enough so that I am ordering the mobile version (they have one on the site which clings to a laptop while holding a phone). Granted, I have no long term data on how well this will stick, but it seems to be working great so far.
The best car holders I have found are those by ProClip USA. A little more expensive, but well worth it.
I just ordered my holder for my Focus.

From the info it looks like the charging mount doesn't rotate.
If you have it can you do a quick review pls.

this looks nice... very interesting... about $90 for the holder, charger, and vehicle specific mount...
Not sure it would work with my thick-arse casemate case on it though...

I don't understand what you mean? It actually says tilt swivel in the title.
