Extended battery release, for when? - HD2 Accessories

The baterry leave me with an average of 1 active day of phone use... the extended battery is a must have. Changing between 2 stock batteries is not handy..
So when is it expected for real?
I've seen pre-orders in a UK based store, but for MARCH!? ouch...

What battery capacity is the pre-order?

New Battery

hello everyone,
i am planning to buy a new battery for my O2 XDA II but i was just wondering whether it will make any difference in the total running time? my device currently runs for two days with normal usage.
and on average how much does a new battery cost? it is $15.9(australian) on ebay.
thanks for replies in advance
im am using this battery for my XDA, it is larger, and with bigger capacity, note that the origina battery has 1200 mAh capacity, this has 3600 mAh. it really extended the usag time of the XDA, altough it is now BIG to look at.
http://cgi.ebay.ph/3600mAh-Battery-for-O2-XDA-II-IIi_W0QQitemZ200277754970QQihZ010QQcategoryZ38329QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
two days with old battery and normal use is not bad at all.
There are several sellers of 1800, 2400 and 3600 mAh batteries. Because of bad experience with "original Minolta" batteries on Ebay I'd prefer buying from shops that have a reputation to loose.
Ebay feedback is unreliable. Buyers can only give feedback based on if they received the goods and if the goods look like the description. Plus giving negative feedback almost in every case leads to getting negative feedback as well. The seller who sold me fake minolta batteries had 50,000+ feedback, 98% positive. The batteries looked genuine and performed well for over a month. One month later his negative feedback started to increase, he never answered my warranty claims, next month his account was gone.
Battery??
can anyone tell me approx. how long would a new battery last on a hima?
1200 mAh? 1400mAh? 3600mAh?
actually no, nobody can. It highly depends on your personal use, the software you use but most of all:
-the time per day your LCD/Backlight are on
-the brightness settings of your LCD
-how often do you turn it on/off per day
-is IR on or off or on for some time per day
-is bluetooth """""
-how often do you recharge and do you recharge till max capacity
-the quality of your charger
-Do you use it in combination with other hardware like headphone, thumb keyboard...
and so on. It might depend on the radio version that's never been fully studied in this forum AFAIK
but to compare mAh capacity is simple math. If 1200 mAh lasts 3 days, 3600 mAh should last 9 days in the same device with the same use.
Unreliable manufacturers exaggerate capacity.
hi, im a very heavy user, meaning my xda is almost always turned on for i am using unlimited texting feature of my phone, my average text per day is around 400 text messages and 30 minutes of calls per day. my battery (3600mAh) starts at 99% after 24 hours, it may have 25% left, good for another 4 hours use. Please take note that my phone rests for 8-9 hours as i sleep anyways, so continuous use of the 3600mAh batt may be 20 hours CONTINUOUSLY, my backlight is set to minimum and im using WM6.1 OS.
note that with my old 1200mAh batt and my heavy use, the old batt wont last 1 day.
also, im not an ebay seller, i just gave you that link as i had no problem with that seller.
sounds indeed like a good battery, so a good seller. I'm very proud that it takes me 4 hours to completely drain my old 1200 mAh. 5x as much from a new 3600 mah... I guess I'll have to order one...
please also take note that new batteries needs a couple of charge/drain/charge cycles before you will see the effect its large capacity. so give it 2 charge / drain cycles before you evaluate how good it is for you.
@paulpax
Liked the E-bay linked; I'm intersted. Too bad it's E-bay, if only I can communicate with the seller in some other way...
that seller has a phone number in his ebay store, i use that number to contact him when i make my orders, to date my orders have been, 1-3600mAh XDA2 battery, 1-700mAH Tanager Battery, and 1-Canon IXUS battery.
thanks.

extended batteries

Speaking as someone who uses their phone pretty darn constantly, I'm in need of a battery that lasts a bit longer than the stock.
currently, Seidio is selling an extended battery (I would link, but as a noob I'm not able to..) 1750 mAh - no new door required, but only a gain of 450 mAh..
Verizon has stated there's a 2150 mAh extended battery coming, but that will almost certainly require a new back plate.
Anyone spotted any other compatible batteries yet?
I ordered the Seidio one and while it fits behind the stock cover it also adds a bit of weight, which is great considering how light this bad boy is.
Seidio is also going to release a 3500 mAh battery in the near future! According to their website, it adds 3-5 mm of width. But for the extra battery I think it will be worth it. The only problem is I am debating on purchasing this because I had one for my tilt and well it flat out sucked after a month of use.
what do you mean it flat out sucked after a month, the thickness or the capacity of the battery?
The battery itself would barley last a day if I was lucky. Seidio just said it needed to charge like 8 times before it was full. It didn't kick in. Is this rare?

Did you let it fully drain till the phone died, and keep turning the phone on until it wont turn on anymore. Then charge it fully, unplug when it is fully charged, let it get back down to 90-95%, then fully charge again, let die & repeat. Do that a few times and your battery life should be better. This is what I do whenever I get a new phone...
We use LiION Batteries, No special charging required
OK, to start, there is NO NEED to do any special charging conditions with Li Ion batteries, it does not matter how they are charged. A standard battery will have between 400 and 1200 charge cycles before it loses 50% of its capacity (1200 if you charge at 50%, 400 if you charge at 0-10%, like when the phone quits on you). Ni Cadmium on the other hand does require special charging situations but we don't use them in cell phones because of the mass. You can do take the advice of the previous post, but if you do that I would suggest sacrificing a virgin symbian phone or doing a handstand while plugging in your phone to charge. That might increase the battery life too.
Secondly, I spoke with Verizon, and their 2100 mA extended battery will be available soon and it is supposed to fit with the stock backing, probably the best way to go if you ask me, only $60 too. I am checking their site almost daily waiting for this to become available since like many, I need more battery life, I find that I can barely make it through the day without being conservative with the use, and that's on a work day when I'm not on it that much, on the weekends I have to charge it in the afternoon.
If you want to save on battery, turn down the screen brightness, chose a background with as few colors as possible, the more black the less battery you will use since its an AMOLED, blacks mean there is no power being used on the screen. Turn off your GEO locations services both on the phone settings and in programs that run a lot. This will easily save you 25-30% battery life.

I was at a Verizon store yesterday asking about it and they showed me their documentation. Their extended battery will come with a new back cover that is slightly raised to fit the larger battery.
I'm waiting for this too because it looks like it will be the most aesthetically pleasing option.
Too bad the guy had NO idea when the accessories were going to become available. Ugh.

Verizon doesn't trust their employees very much - to prevent leaks, they don't tell people about equipment/accessory release dates til within about two weeks of the actual release. The Incredible launch announcement had one of the longest announcement to release times I've seen the the last two years.

i got my seido battery yesterday and it lasted me all day and I used it more than I usually do just to see what it could do... 1.5 hours of slacker radio at the gym... games and internet for an hour at work while on break... several phone calls and I'm still at 40% battery... and it says it gets better after 5 or 6 charges on the box...

$14.99 + free shipping for a battery that lasts all day from moderate use? This sounds great and I'm ready to buy it now! ... But is it safe to use this battery with an Incredible?

I dont know, but my seideco 1750 def gets me 3 more hours a day on my Incredible. I have switched back and forth from stock and the extended...the extended wins EVERYTIME...so Im not sure about that report.
@ suzook
I read that my OEM TP2 rated as one of the best.
TP2 OEM standard issue Rated @ 1500mAh Tested @ 1414mAh
Most Likely our stock incredible battery has a lower mAh then it actually states it is.
@ Xxq TZ pxX
Yes it will work because its in my phone now working like a champ ;O)
I also told someone else here like myself who swapped from the tp2 ====> incredible and he seen it first hand as-well.
TP2 batteries work fine
Hey all,
The TP2 battery works fine. Same size and 200mAh more than stock... in fact I've seen them sold on Fommy.com as the thin extended battery for $44.95. Don't be fooled, and just go buy the TP2 batteries. They're cheaper if you don't need the therapy session of a rebranding.
Enjoy!
P.S. Got a workaround for Skype too...
I'm sure a number of HTC CDMA phones have interchangeable batteries.
I swapped out the 1500mAh battery from my Sprint Hero and put it into my Incredible. It's easily out lasting the stock incredible battery.
I ordered the 1500 HTC battery as well. Between those to staying charged I am not worried about it.
Also anyone know of a battery charger for these types of batteries?
For those of you that want a red 1500mah battery I found this but im not sure if its oem or not it just says its an htc extra capacity battery hxxp://shop.htcpedia.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=825

Mugen Power Batteries

I though I share this site with those who don't know.
Mugen Power is a reputable aftermarket battery manufacturer, and you will find many good feedback, reviews and recommendations about Mugen batteries on XDA.
The main site is here: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
I am myself a Mugen product user and I would like to share once again how amazed I am by their customer support and social network persence, like for example if you follow up Mugen Power on facebook http://www.facebook.com/MugenPowerBatteries, they give 7% discount on their stuff. Many fans on facebook represents brand loyalty to clients, and you can see many fan comments and simple questions which are answered accordingly. If you have problems with you battery, it drains quickly, it charges slowly they exchange without questioning. Worldwide shipping is free of charge. Overall it is worth noticing.
Concerning Verizon Moto Droid Bionic Mugen has 2 products:
Its a 2000mAh Extended Battery, it fits the original cover. Slightly more powerful than original just enough to resolve the issues that might accure with factory battery.
And for extra power there is 4000mAh Extended Battery which enlarges the phone with an extra replacement backdoor, but improves the battery life at least 2.5 times.
I hope this little review will help you in your quests for battery replacements.
For questions, ask their facebook or write directly on their site, I always got my responces there so far.
I have ordered myself the 4000mAh battery for testing, and hope to post user experience results as soon as the battery arrives.
If you could, let us know if that battery will fit under the OEM extended cover. If so it would make a nice upgrade.
that is exactly what i was going to ask. let us know please

I purchased the 2000mah mugen and it does fit under the OEM door.
Battery life with it though was actually less than the stock for me.
At times it would get really hot and just drain out when in use.
I keep it charged and use it as a spare in case I need it when taking long trips.
This is just my experience with it. Yours might be different, but as of now, I don't recommend the mugen 2000mah one.
Haven't tried the 4000.

That should not be normal. I had same sort of negative experience with my other phone (galaxy nexus); i have written Mugen about it and got my apology and warranty replacement without questioning that is why i have mentioned my total respect to their customer support earlier.
If your warranty is still valid you should definitely write them a note about your problem, maybe they will help you with how to root it or something, try this one:

@mercdoc and @Noob_In_Recovery
the 2000mAh version fits in original backdoor as @dellenrules says
and the 4000mAh is a big one, it shall arrive with extra backdoor to fit in the phone, i cannot wait mine to arrive!!
The mugen 2000mah battery in actually should last longer.
Because of how it's designed, it gets hotter quickly. As a result, it kills the battery a lot quicker.
When ever I get a phone, replace the battery with a mugen.
When I'm working in the office, it's pretty much "death by AC." My phone can last me all day with no problems.
When I'm on the road, at the gym, or any place where it isn't cool, the battery dies quickly.
No it isn't just a bad battery. I purchased 2 and they both behave the same way.
The stock battery is better for me since I'm not always in the office. I use the mugen as a backup and keep it charged and ready to go when I have to take those long trips.
I already get about 15 hours our of my stock battery on a single charge.
Not too worried about battery live at the moment.
Thanks for your concern.
Mugen Power 3600mAh Extended Battery for Samsung Droid Charge / US Cellular Samsung G
Comments of Mugen Power Battery from Facebook user Anlyn Bankos:
HLI-i510XL 3.7V for Samsung Charge: This battery was a complete waste of money. It was a gift and my dad seriously over paid for a battery that won't hold a charge. It's to the point where every day now I have to plug my phone in during the day b/c my phone says "battery low", I plug it in and "wow look at that - I'm charged to 100%". Imagine this happening 5+ times a day. I can't be without a charger because if I can't plug the phone in immediately, it dies. If I do plug it in, the battery miraculously recharges to 100% in mere seconds, only to go through the whole charade again 10 mins after I unplug the phone. I have dug out the original battery and am going back to that. Crappy product.
Thanks for the site information, good news for the facebook discount too, i did not know that.
I bought a Mugen 2000 mAh battery about six months ago. During that time it worked great, average time 16 - 18 hours according to Badass Battery Monitor. (For comparison, my standard 1735 mAh battery lasts about 12 hours. I mainly use WiFi and 3G, turning on 4G only when needed.) Then last week, the Mugen started falling off a cliff. It would go from 80% to 40% instantly and then drain to 0% in just a few minutes. This happened again and again. Finally I asked my wife to test it in her Bionic, just to rule out problems with my phone, and sure enough it behaved the same way with hers. So for $50 I got a decent increase in battery life but it only lasted 6 months. YMMV of course. Now I'm using the stock battery again and getting the standard 12 hours. I ended up ordering the 2670 mAh extended battery from VZW, which is currently on half-price sale for $25. It should be here tomorrow. Probably won't order from Mugen again in the future.
I love my 2750 extended battery.

Where to purchase a legit replacement battery for the Note 2?

Anyone found where to buy a real, new, OEM battery made by Samsung? I haven't had much luck with battery life with aftermarket batteries.
Apart from carrier stores? Too many fakes out there IMO. I went with Anker, through their Amazon store and it's served me well up to today. (Not going to be used much in the near future because shamu )
Yea I'm a fan of Anker. Once mine needs a replacement, that's what I'll be getting.
I just bought an Anker a couple of months ago. Great replacement battery for my NOTE 2. Battery life is great.
I know this is a fairly old post, I bought a new OEM battery direct from Samsung for $24...I swear it lasts twice as long as the eBay knockoffs.
So...where? How? That's what the OP was asking. Provide a link.
And I'd like to know where to get a legit replacement stylus. The two I got from Ebay and Amazon were crap.
is it their link? Anker?
http://www.ianker.com/category-c62-s2-model-bid3-di57
I live in Italy and discovered Anker just seeing around Amazon.
I think it's a good product IMO and I think that if I have problems with my battery I'll change it with Anker's battery
I read a lot of people had problems with the Anker batteries swelling up and only lasting a few months before the battery life fell on its face.
You can go to samsung's website and buy the batteries right from them.
We were going to do that with our note 2's...but an OTA update killed my wife's phone so we decided to upgrade both phones.

Unfortunately, this link is no longer valid. There are so many knock offs out there that I'm worried about buying from anyone other than Samsung. Not sure if they're genuine but there's the dock and battery combo on Amazon and Rakuten for slightly less.

Thanks for the info. How's the charge time, SOT and idle time? Is it comparable to the original battery? My original SDI (Samsung Korea manufactured) is still running strong after 3 years with 7 to 8 hrs SOT but I want to have a spare considering it's harder to find the older it gets.
Anyone going this route should take advantage of the 10% off or $5 off promos.

IMO...
...charge time is pretty good, "seems" a bit better than what I recall for the OEM Samsung battery.
...SOT is OK for what I use the phone for everyday, which is just as a phone/texting, some internet surfing, light video watching (kodi, slingtv, mlb.tv).
... idle time is pretty good. Some nights I go to bed at 100% and wake up 6-7 hours later and it's at 93%. My issue is the location of my router, so the wifi drops sometimes and toggles back and forth b/w wifi and 3/4G data while sleeping. Those mornings it's down into the 85% range.
As always, YMMV based on your config. I'm on Chaz's NE2 Classic Stock, with small mods for sd card r/w cache, adaway, TiB scheduled, etc.
Weird. I just looked at that Samsung battery a week or so ago.

I'm another Anker man, at least as good if not better than the stock battery.

battery replacement

Hi all,
As my original battery with three years old, wasn't in good shape, so I decided to buy a new one on ebay and found this one with extra power. So Mi5 has an original 3000mah and I bought the 4800mah so I believe that I can achieve a full day and more almost half one, because with original one I always got 1 one day.
Now how can I check the true power of this new battery I used some apps, like ampere, accubattery, kernel toolkit and all assume this new battery as a 3000mah.
If new battery is in picture then you bought a 3000mA else a 4800mA battery is bigger then original 3000mA
GGelmi
Now way a 4.8 would fit
MIUI kernel fakes calculated battery capacity so it won't ever report proper values. That's why.
Anyways, buying DUPER MAXIMUM CAPACITY battery is always a fake and also you're in danger of burning your leg/house/car etc due to untrusted factory niche products.
