Question about warranty issues - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

Hey guys...
I made the hard-spl process and installed the infinity rom but i then reverted to the official swedish rom. But i noticed that my radio had changed... I don't know what version i had before i did all this, but after i installed the update from seus i ended up with the official r3a swedish rom 1.05.936.9 and radio version 1.14.25.55
My question is: What is the original radio version??? I had 1.14.25.55 after i installed the infinity rom, after i installed the official swedish r2a rom i got 1.10.x and when i finally installed the r3a rom from seus i ended up with 1.14.25.55 and 0.78.0000 spl...
Am i clear to send it to service??
Best regards

I doubt they would notice, I've read people have gotten a refurbished phone from them and found hard spl on it. But if you want to be cautious...
When did you buy the phone, and have you sent it in for repair since then? (They will update it for the repair) Depending on when the phone was made, the radio version will be different.
It would be safer to go with an older radio, unless it is a newer phone. 1.11 is pretty safe if its 6 months or a little older. If it's newer 1.14 would be okay. If you have no idea when it was made, put 1.11 on it, that's the most safe in my opinion.
If they call you, just play dumb. Act like you aren't good with tech stuff, and say FM radio if they ask about the radio version.
Also I've never seen a ROM change the radio, so I'm not sure about that theory. (That could be the original version.)

Official ROMs change the radio. AFAIK, no chefs cook ROMs with radio inside, so most likely whatever radio he had before he updated using SEUS.

I sent my xperia back with Hard-spl since it was in a condition where i couldn't connect it via activesync. They didn't notice

Hi!
thanks for your replies. My xperia is 3 months old and i sent it in for service 2 months ago... But i think that it had 1.14.25.55 before i started playing with it but i just wanted to be on the safe side and ask the pros.
Best regards

When you click on this link you can extend your warranty for 2 years for free:

Original HTC Rom

Hi, i am very new to this game. However I have managed to unlock the sim, what I would like to do now is either flash the original HTC rom or Duttys. My question is do I have to flash a specific radio first or just flash. My current radio is 1 27 12 32 and I have hard spl installed.
Thanks

if you are flashing the original HTC rom that radio should be fine. However, if you flash dutty's rom's you need a radio that is compatiable with 6.1roms. search the forum or the thread that is associated with the rom you want to flash.
If the Radio you have is not compatable with the ROM you are using (very common on the latest ROM/radio releases) the OS will probably refuse to boot.
If this is the case, just load the bootloader screen and flash a compatable radio.
Most chefs lift the compatable radios in the 1st post.

Ey up...
I installed the nothrills ROM over my T-Mobile default one. I didn't even think about radio. It seems to work fine. Do I need to worry about this?
No, but you might get better reception/battery life with a more compatible radio
... am I right in thinking the Nothrills ROM changes the radio too? It seems to say it does on the forum page. Sorry for asking, but I'm not clued up at all about this kind of thing.

That's what it looks like.
If you look in "Device Information" you can see the versions you are running.
If it matches the first post then you flashed the radio.
Dave
Yep, it's flashed that too. Thanks for such a quick answer.

Roms and Radio

Starting of with that I'm a Newbie to these Roms and radio will probably get alot of posts with comments like "did you try the search bar, ..". But i'm giving it a go this way
my rom now is 1.56.00.00 and radio 1.27.12.11 - quite old yeah ? Anyway its a NL ( belgian ) radio i presume.
What can i do best to get my tytnt updated to wm 6.1 with a latest radio for my needs.
Does it matter wich rom i take ? is it regio-bounded ? if yes which newest radio file is available for dutch-belgian people ?
2ndly i heard that i need to unlock my phone first before i can flash this new rom on to it. do i lose my warranty on this tytnt then ? or can i backup the system and reinstall it later back if it has to go back for reparation in warranty?
remember im totaly new to this and it would be friendly if someone could give me a descent answer. Thanks
I would also be interested in this, i have HardSPL'd and managed to flash a HTC Asian WM6 ROM + latest Radio, but after 4 hours of reading these forums, cannot find a answer as to what i need to do to get to WM6.1. is it now just a case of flashing a 6.1 ROM?
Cheers,
Check the ROM development forum, there are several ROMs posted there.
You first need to unlock your phone, as it comes it wil not let you flash any ROM
To get Windows Mobile 6.1, just flash any of the many available ROMs, some of them are HTC official ones. The radio depends on the ROM, but basically they are divided between 1.64 or older radios, and 1.65 newer radios.

Check this thread about radios:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375
Yours is new, but it's a WM6 radio
Recent WM 6.1 radios are 1.58.XX.XX, 1.64.XX.XX. or 1.65.XX.XX
Check official HTC and AT&T shipped ROMS here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
Or try any of the cooked ROMS, they come with a lot of stuff preinstalled and different looks.
cheers trying NoThrills WM 6.1 V3 ROM atm, simplicity first
please read kaiser wiki ... its in english
a rom is a rom. As long as it is for your phone it's all the same. You flash the 6.0 the same as the 6.1..

Diamond newbie

Hi there one thing I want to say is thanks to all you guys for this forum its been great reading.
I wanted to confirm that I have a Diamond through T-mobile, UK, and currently running
ROM: 1.37.110.3 WWE
ROM DATE: 6/20/08
RADIO: 1.00.25.03
PROTOCOL: 52.26a.25.09U
Looking through the forum there are plenty of ROM versions there. The HTC website won't support the DL of 31-7-08 ROM with the serial I have, which I think is down to T-mobile.
Can you guys point me in the direction of the best radio and ROM for my version of the Diamond.
Sorry to be a pain but I'm confused at all the version at present
Many thanks
Best Radio would be 1.00.25.05 0r 06 to some.
Best ROM depends upon the user. I prefer lite ROMs always as I like to customize the rest my own way. So far, Im stuck to Bepe' eLite 0.97 version! Most stable yet I believe..
Regards,
Carty..
So it seems to get one that best suits your individual needs.
Many thanks
I got my diamond through t-mobile and the best thing ive ever done with the device is getting rid of the t-mobile software that slows the handset to a stop.
Im currently using radio version .07
and have tried both swiftbl 5.0 and duttys 1.6 roms
vast vast improvement on either rom compared to t-mobiles stock rom

Is there anyway of getting hold of the t-mobile stock as I am wary with my technical expertise that I will 'fudge' the fist flashes up and need to reload the stock ROM.
I have read that it can be dumped from a reading of the phone but apprently it needs to be reconstructed!!!!
This is where I got completely lost!
Cheers

The stock t-mob ROM is floating about on the diamond forums somewhere if you ever need it. Just make sure you flash Hardspl and you'll be fine.
I have got the Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex but cant tell you a version number as it does not seem to be on there.
Basically with the HardSPL flashed the Diamond will reset and carry on with the ROM it has until you flash a different one, and the same for the radio?
Thanks for your help
pretty much yeah
check out http://modmydiamond.info
for me bepe Rom it's very good.
about radio for me 1.00.25.07 it's better than 1.00.25.05

Orange Branded HD - Upgrade ROM

Hi Guys
Ive done a search but cant find anything specific so im starting a a new thread.
I have a Touch HD which I got through Orange UK.
Rom version sis: 1.19.61.1 WWE
At the moment im told that I cant receive any updates directly from the HTC site and orange dont really seem to care about offering a good after service.
So my option is to flash my phone with a new ROM, however which version to go for is my biggest question and I really dont have any idea. I understand the flash proceure. WIll any ROM allow updates from HTC site?
Thanks
Craig
hi
i also have a uk branded orange touch hd
i flashed it with the latest official rom from htc (the one that needs a serial number to download and the orange serials dont work)
just use a serial provided in the offical rom upgrade thread to download the rom from htc and use uspl 2.5 to flash it
i used uspl 2.5 to upgrade the rom
all info can be found using the search fuction on this forum
i also made a dump of the phone before i flashed it, just need someone to rebuild the .raw files to a flashable rom
hope this helps
math
Nice one Math, that helps a lot! Will give this a go over the weekend.
Craig
Ok, where do we start? Which ROM you choose is really a bit like asking what car should I choose to buy. The choice is entirely yours based on what you want and what you like.
I think the first question to ask yourself is what do you want? What Windows Mobile OS do you want? WM6.1, WM 6.1 with Touch flow, WM 6.1 with the latest version of Touch flow or WM 6.5 Beta. I'm sure there are more but lets keep it simple.
WM 6.1 or 6.5? HTC Touch Flow or not? What is your native language as you have nothing set in your profile etc?
May I suggest you have a look through the first few posts of each of the ROM threads for this month and see what takes your fancy. If you ask ten people you will get ten possibly different answers.
Look at peoples signatures and see what most people use as most display what current ROM they are using. Maybe try a few, but I suggest use the safest route and follow the instructions to the letter.
Its always a matter of personal opinion but I like Duttys current WM6.1 with TF3D XT3. It's the latest and well tested with fewer bugs than the stock ROM from HTC (IMHO) and is based on the latest technology from the next gen HTC phones.
Do your research and enjoy!

Yes, the choose is your, but as an Orange user myself. I was bored with the official HTC Orange Rom and decided to flash my rom. Did manage to keep the back up on original rom in cause of warranty reason. I have try quite a lot of cook rom the only problem I had was mainly with battery life wasn’t good and will not last for a day or so. Since with this rom, HD|ROM||WWE|| ** EnergyROM HD Series 21042 - Final Topaz Manila ** || Build 40909 || man!! The software and battery life is incredible. Yes I would recommend to you

where did u get this rom from? link?
couple of newbie questions. I also have orange phone ...
If I upgrade to the latest HTC rom will I loose all my programs installed in the phones memory?
Will I loose my programs/they stop working (e.g. Tomtom) that have been reigstered with the phone (in add/remove programs) on my memory card?
Can I restore everything from a backup (sprite) ?
Is there any way of goign back to the older ROM if I need to send my phone back for warranty reasons?
Thanks

Thanks for info. Just to clarify a couple of things..
Will my sprite backup restore all programs and settings to the new rom version?
How can I backup my existing ROM? I'm guessing the official ROM is a HSPL?
Thanks

USPL and HSPL these are different method of putting new ROM to your phone.
you will find more information in here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Flash1
with this method you can get a backup of your current ROM

Thanks again. I never thought it would be so complicated. I thougth someone would have created a GUI for this stuff, its amazing what they have GUI's for these days and this is still command line.
Still unsure as to wether I can restore my sprite back up after going to 1.56 rom though. With the amount I have installed its probably not worth the effort for now.

HTC Official ROM - No FM Radio

I have just installed the new HTC ROM (1.19.401.1) over my original Vodafone ROM, but have noticed that for some reason I no longer have an FM Radio. I used to use it quite a bit on the Vodafone ROM, so any ideas why its missing on the official HTC ROM and more importantly, how do I get it back?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521356
or install EnergyRom Genesis (see my sig), the ROM is much better than stock and the radio app is already installed. The standard version is extremely stable, with the added bonus of WinMo 6.5, you won't look back!
Just a note of caution. You would have to install Hard SPL on your phone to install/flash any custom ROM. Which would void the warranty of your device.
Almost all Custom ROMs that are released here on XDA have FM Radio installed in them. So you can try any ROM.
But you are someone who is not aware of how ROM Flashing works... please take time to read through the stickys first before going ahead with it.
Its DEFINITELY not like installing a CAB.
Good luck.
Thanks for that. You are correct that I am new to flashing ROM's - although I have been using HTC devices for sometime now - but seeing as Vodafone have been so unco-operative when it comes to updating their ROM and also insisting on their horrible Red theme, then I figured I'd give it a shot.
I suppose worse can scenario would be if the phone ever needed to go back for repair, I could also ensure that the latest version of their ROM was installed.
Question answered.
Please search and read the sticky posts before starting a new thread. You'll find most common questions are answered somewhere .
Thanks
Dave
