I've seen on eBay a screen and tool to replacement:

...but I have no idea how to change the screen and I need a toturial (or video tutorial) to change the screen
¿Can you help me?
Thanks

what the heck did you do?

when I left the car, hd2 I fell down from the seat

eek... that happens all the time to me with past phones... now I am really scared. Your leather case didnt do anything to save it eh?
You may want to check out Cnn.cn. It's a great website for buying spare parts too.
http://cnn.cn/shop/htc-hd2-oem-digitizer-p-7979.html
They are selling it for $65.99. They usual post how-to videos also. I suggest maybe looking at comparable phones.

Thanks drewX2 and inku79 for the links.
DaveMC1979, thanks. Very useful. But there isn't any picture of how to separate the LCD from the touchscreen, or how connect this:
Does any other site, or videotutorial tutorial?
Thanks a lot for your help

did you break your screen when your HD2 is inside the noreve leather case?

Yes, but it was open 'mea culpa'

Ouch sorry to hear about this. I read somewhere about it is better to get a kit with the LCD and digitizer together. Some people seemed not to have luck trying to separate and replace and put back together. Just what I read, I have no idea.
Good luck and hope you get it going soon.

Thanks bobsbbq. Some questions:
1.- Then, if I bought together (touchscreen and LCD) it would be easier to replaced them
2.- Where can I buy them together?
Thanks bob

I dont have instructions for you how to swap the display, but I can say the following: I had an Samsung Omnia, and the resistive touchscreen there was very bad. But there was an replacement which seemed to work much better. So I bought a new LCD + digitizer and started to disassemble the whole phone. I have to say, I'm not very good in disassembling electronics or reparing them. But after an hour of hard work where I sometimes had a bad feeling by pulling out the different flat-cables, the touchscreen was replaced and worked like a charm.
What I wanted to say with my post: I think you can do it, if you have the right equipment and some time. Good luck.

I broke the screen on my Diamond2 and tried to fix it myself, but broke it beyond repair.
Be careful!

I don't know I found it here in one of the threads when I was just browsing and looking in about screen protectors and screen sensativity. There was a thread with a video, but I did not watch it. Just look around or try to search.
Sorry I can't help more.

oh man... I feel for you. You can check out a thread in the Accessories section of the HD1. Basically you are better off buying TouchScreen and LCD preassembled and replace the whole thing

Same thing happened to mine although the damage is lesser. Is the bezel around the glass (same piece of plastic that makes the back cover) damaged?
Mine is chipped heaps in the corner
I successfully replaced the screen on my Touch HD but was unable to remove the LCD screen from the digitizer so had to purchase a whole kit for about $200.
I can't find any for the HD2 though
To the people saying so: are you sure that the LCD is stuck to the digitizer like in the Touch HD or just speculation / thinking you read it somewhere?

Hi there,
I remember seeing the inside of the HTC HD2 online once and the screen had a suction pad on in it abit like this one. Maybe you should investigate that. I will post the link if I can find it.
You may also want to check your warranty you never know.

New screens

My own screen has some scuffs and scratches, and i was looking for a new one. Now i know because of my old job that having it replaced at a repair-center (i worked at one) that will cost me something like 160 euro's.
But now i found a company (www.iiparts.com) on internet that sells the "samsung LTP280QV" displays for $75 a piece (for minimum of 5 pieces) and thats a good price i think.
These displays are used in the wizard and the magician ( :!: but Toppoly TD028STEB1 is also used, and they are not interchangeable :!: )
Maybe if there is enough interest for those displays we could buy some together (saves a lot of postage costs  )?
It is not my goal to make money out of this, but to all save money.
So if anyone who is seriously interested could PM me, then i'll see if its worth it.
Goodluck.

That's not what he is asking guys.
There are a lot of users who won't use protectors because of disadvantages with it.
So if anyone is interested in a new display and don’t mind to do some DIY then please add your thread.

thnks drifter, thats what i want to say. And as i saw on the forum, there are a lot of people who dropped their device and have a broken LCD. For them it's also a lot cheaper, and DIY doesn't matter for them because their warranty is already voided because of dropping it.
.....
I already have sent my 9100 to the repair center....
If they will ask me a lot, I will contact you soon.
Today I got back my PDA....
I have disassembled it to check the type of the screen but it is a "Toppoly TD028STEB1"
Do someone know where to buy this kind of screen?

BUMP!
Hallo?!?!?
anyone?
is there anybody out there?
My question is there a screen which has decent sensitivity. I have had two T-Mobile MDAs and both are pretty poor when it comes to screen tap sensitivity. Also I have a continuous problem with alignment. After about a week I have to carry out a hard reset. Example if I am searching in my contacts database and use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen instead of scrolling the contact the stylus is adjacent to is selected. I have tried screen recalibration and that does not correct the issue. The only resolution is to clear storage and that is getting very aggrivating. Any suggestions. I am running Mr. Clean rev 2.4a. Am I looking at a software glitch or a bad screen... My guess is a substandard screen.
Bump again....
I still need to get the screen!!!!!!
Do you know if there's an easy way to determine which screen is installed without having to disassemble the phone? My Wizard100 (Cing2125) is fairly new and I just want to avoid disassembly unless it is really, really, really needed...
Sorry but I have no idea how to get that info without "explode" the PDA.
It will help to keep the guarantee as valid
Taking the Magician and Wizard apart
Hi,
How easy is it to take the magician and wizard apart?
...and put back together
I've looked on the net for hours and not found any instructions. On this site I have seen people talk of repairing their phones but no guides or indication of how easy/hard it is
thanks,
Graham.
OK, I found the service manual for the wizard at:

but what about the Magician?
thanks,

Hardware Hack Pixs!!!

There are many awesome hack on the software side!
Now let's see some hardware hacking... Especially mod to get the second camera on the tilt.
POST YOUR HARDWARE HACK PIXS HHAARRRR!
I will start with mine, nothing crazy really, just replaced the ugly AT&T silver keys with the original all black keys.

I turned the flash off to get the light on the keyboard, but the LCD screen glares
I predict this thread may die .__.
The original AT&T keys was ripped out off the Tilt, got destroyed
Behind the keyboard keys is an adhesive (sticky) layer that sticked to...
The flex board, plastic keys with adhesive will be laid on top of this
(This is a broken flex that ripped out of the Tilt. This flex is permanently adhesive to the original qwerty housing, rip it out will break the flex, which I did... but I have another one so I am safe)

I think a safer option would be to sell the Tilt and then buy a model that has the front camera.

But it's still kool to have a front camera for self-shoot photos.
Branded phone are often a downgrade, from design to tech >: ( They either screw it up with bad colors ~ or downgrade something.
The T-Mobile version is so feminine ~ and AT&T decided to have silver keys in between black keys?!!! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?!!!
I don't care what it is, it's just kool to unbrand a branded phone!!! Branded phones (modified by some non-artist-eyes marketing retard) are often not as kool as the original factory design.

Hehe.
I have an idea for you: Buy a TyTN II (with front camera). Dismantle it. Open your Tilt, remove everything, and drill a hole in the front plate. Take what was in the TytN II, put it in the Tilt case. There you'll have a modded Tilt with front camera
Or you could just keep the TyTN II.
On a more serious note:
Yup!!!

There have already been numerous threads about it, and if all those who have had that idea gave up, there must be a reason. One is that front cams are pretty much impossible to find. Another if I remember well is that there's no connection for the cam in the Tilt anyway, so you'd have to replace enough components to end with what I was actually saying earlier, a TyTN II in a Tilt case.
In the end, why don't you just try it yourself if you want it so badly?
Well, spending for a TyTN is too expensive, spending on a Tilt make sense during this hard time. With the right mind and skill, I think anything is possible... next attempt, making the Kaiser into a Helio Duo slider ~ YEAH!!! LOL, jk ~ ... hrrmmm... maybe it's possible ... let's see...
RU high on caffeine or something? JK
I wouldn't call keyboard swapping a hack really... :/ additional ram, leds, irda, speakers, anything... but an ordinary swap one for another?? meh....
I for one think that this thread is a Good Thing®. It's nice to see people still doing things with the Tilt (and Kaiser in general). Some of us like the tilting screen!
Thanks kaiser_user, and let's see some more hacks!
Well.. I'm an electronics engineer, and hacking is nearly second nature for me... adding backlight control to HDTV, adding internal 3G modem to laptop, adding remote trigger to digicam,...
But my Kaiser is one of the very rare of my electronic devices that hasn't even been dismantled once. Simply because I wouldn't see what to do to it as it's fine for me as it is, I've had no problem with it, etc.
BTW, mine is a TyTN II with front camera, I got one because it was just frustrating me to buy a tilt without one... and I've never used it even once. So, it wouldn't be a hack I'd consider either...

What is the name of this part of the phone?

That's your LED screen. Google "screen replacement for (your model)" Should pull up a bunch of sites. Install yourself if able, cause some of these companies are ridiculous on prices. Did my wing for $28.00, I think. Been awhile. Good luck

I assumed it was the screen itself. Is the screen plastic or glass. I would think plastic, but who knows. Google it. Most screens include the digitizer when the screen is purchased. Personally I would replace both at the same time if cheap enough. You'll have the phone apart anyway, If you plan on doing it yourself.
I found it fun & a bit educational. might have to order a tool or 2 but there very cheap. Be careful of the ribbon connectors, you can break them very easily.
Wow sorry to see the HTC Dream/G1 suffer the way it did.
I think its time to hang up the phone for good.
Save the money you would pay to fix it and move onto something newer.

Is that really a fair comparison ? It's a non-rooted G1 running 1.6. I'd like to see the results on a rooted/flashed w/Froyo 2.2 Also not overclocked like some of them.
Screens are cheap, relatively easy to install fix for a $400 phone. Seems a waste to "hang it up".
Interesting info @ site though.

The HTC Dream/G1 is dead last in benchmarks.
Unless he can find a screen for dirt cheap I believe it would be a waste of cash.
If he is eligible for a full upgrade discount from his provider let him decide for himself.

it shatters, just like the ifags phone, its a pitty but thats a bad thing about a glass screen
Gorilla glass or not it is not that resistant. First time in my pocket with a key (I took it out immediately) and it got slightly scratched.
Gorilla Glass is far from indestructible, sure it's better than regular glass, but at the end of the day, it's still glass.
I am also curious. Can you please make a picture of the screen?

Hi there,
I know this threat is old, but I recently crashed my phone glass, and I can't fin any replacement. I found a video on YouTube where you can see how to replace it yourself, but not the spare part itself.
The links you posted above take you to several spare parts online shops, but they don't have the P990 ones (I already asked).
So would you tell me a place, virtual or physical, where I can buy a replacement glass?
PD: I'm from Spain, so a technical service where they may fix the problem would be nice too
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_n..._odkw=optimus+2x+digitizer&_osacat=0&_armrs=1
Doubt it's hard to fit.
You could send it to germany. Repair costs about 65 Euro (including the new screen). Look at german eBay "Optimus Speed Display Reparatur"
Optimus Speed is the german name of the 2x
If you need any help PN me
Good luck

Edit
I found this image in google, and in an approach of it, we are able to see the replacement:
is it just me or it is the one provided by Global direct parts (because of its slots)
please let me know your opinion!

To me they look really similar why don't you ask this ebay seller http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Nexus-One-W...0561840998?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item43a6d5d766 he's selling his Broken Nexus with water damage I'm sure if you offer 10 bucks with shipping he might sell the motor to you. In one of the pictures you can tell he already open the bottom part trying to fix it.
I'm sorry to necro this thread.
I'm just confirming my success replacing my faulty vibrating motor with the ebay part from this thread. It's not exactly identical: the rotating metal piece is a bit smaller than the original and the exact shape of the plastic is different, but it fits perfectly, and the vibration feels solid, even though it vibrates differently, it's better that a failing motor.
this is the link in case anyone needs it

It's hard to describe.
Considering that my old motor vibrated like a sledgehammer on crack, this one does feel "weaker"
the new motor feels "sharper", something like if the vibration came from behind the screen, instead of from the surface.
It's really hard to describe it, but overall, even though it feels different, I'm very happy with it since it's now usable.

I also confirm the good quality of this vibrating motor and this is the easiest component to replace on this phone, excluding the battery.
For just 5 euros with shipping included, the vibration on my Nexus One feels like new :victory:
