[UPD-9/03/08] PointUI 1.02 black iContact skin(s), NOW with more variation goodness!

Update 9/3/08 - I have now made my PointUI 1.02 black iContact skin in more variations.
- I reworked the skin to make the call time on the "Call History" screen show better. Just lightened the phone on the right and changed the text color.
- Changed up the colors in the hover bars so they match the theme better and the text shows better.
- I believe a black theme is what shows better in bright sunlight due to the contrast. I hope I have made a good attempt at making that show in these themes (at least the black background).
There are a total of 4 black skins for more variation goodness
1.) Black top bar with black background (pointui 1.02 b-b)
2.) Black top bar with white background (pointui 1.02 b-w)
3.) White top bar with black background (pointui 1.02 w-b)
4.) White top bar with white background (pointui 1.02 w-w)
These are all in ONE ZIP FILE now, see below for download link to the PointUI 1.02 iContact_black_skin_pack.zip
Copy one, or copy all of them and switch the theme daily to switch it up.

NOTE: Some of the icons aren't in the "PointUI" theme. I couldn't find any to match so I just left those from the default iContact skin. If I find anything that matches those, I will change.

Just unzip and copy the *.png and the *.skn files to the iContact "Theme" folder. Or just in iContact folder (Ender edition).
Please let me know what you think. Also, since I have only tested on on my Mogul I don't know what it will look like on other devices. So please, report any bugs.

I'm impressed, I have never liked any of those white skins for icontact but this one is really good. Any chance of getting this skin but with a black top bar?

i prefer the black backround instead of the white .. i like the way it looks when i go to a contacts details with the black background...
its tough to see when u have your favorities highlighted yellow with a white background
the call log screen . the time is imprinted over the icon making it hard to read ... also with white background there are names highlighted with yellow and green ... making it once again hard to read ... maybe make default black background and details page have the white backround ... i like the skin ... with some tweaks it will be real nice

arturo..Yes, i have a black top bar made from when i started this. Back before i knew how to change the colors in them file to match it.
iTouch24, Isherif...I will do some tweaks and make all screens black.
When i set out to make a PointUI 1.02 skin. I wanted to make it match as closely as possible. Such as the white list view to the black detail view. And right dow to the white top bar.
I will be gone for a few days. But when i m back i will make the changes and upload the different variations. Thanks

Wow, that is awesome that you started using icontact due to my skin. I'm happy that I was able to provide you with a skin to use it.
kwill...as I am using burts edition. Can you confirm for me how my skin(s) are working for you in enders edition? I was using enders but switched to burts. There may be a few things missing in the *.skn file that makes the skin not show properly. But I believe I have all of the parameters covered for each of them. If not, I can make the changes.
That is the problem with having 3 different versions. It is hard to keep up with the changes that they have made in the skin files. Since ender has based his version (from 1.02 I believe) off of burts edition they have concurrently been updated which is why I think they work. There may be some things in burts version since 6.2 that enders doesn't have in his latest 1.03.
-->> I do have a black version for subpro's version which is a much simpler skin. I just need to test it with his latest version to see if it works properly.

I installed the same cab. the thing is - in HOME screen - its white. When you click start, its color........ a mixed mode.... also ok for me..... 2 in 1 theme....lol

Strange. On my phone start icon on the color start flag theme is always colored.

Great Theme, I like it Works good on my Incite (WQVGA)
I had the multi-colors when I installed both cabs to try them, but now with only the black theme installed, everything looks good

The colored start button occurs when you install the theme and not activate the .tsk. It's a glitch in WM 6.5.1.

Is this for wqvga too?

I don't know - somebody wrote it works on WQVGA, so it may work, but I don't give any guarantee.

OVGA themes work for WQVGA and VGA themes work for WVGA as well.
I see that your new version has only four images which are not from my theme, and further, of those four two are just slighty modified, one is an all-black image and the last is from Ahen. So, I don't see any creative work done by you (renaming isn't creative work) .
I hope you acknowledge this in your description and, at least provide a link to my theme or just take that new CAB down. After all, unlike some other theme makers, I did not use any stock images from HTC, but made everything from scratch (even radio-buttons and checkboxes), so it's very frustrating if other people use the images without giving proper credits.
But, don't misunderstand me, I hope you'll learn from this and rework your theme, as I like your previous one (the overall style) pretty much .

I wanted to use a theme with black background also on the newly (to Omnia2 at least^^) ported WM 6.5.3. (as the Samsung black theme is not working anymore on the new WM versions)
So I made a mix of many themes along with some custom made images to get a full black theme with item selectors in blue and some glossy effects.
Details v7:
- WM 6.5.x (but it should/may work also on wm 6.5 other than the bottom bar of course)
- (W)VGA and (W)QVGA
- black blackground
- 7 themes (.tsk) to choose different styles of softkeybar and taskbar (details in the screenshots below):
tacchan23Black 1: complitely black bars without any border with Manila style buttons
tacchan23Black 2: glossy black bars without any border with Manila style buttons
tacchan23Black 3: complitely black bars without any border with "squared taskbar" style buttons

Just one request, if possible? Is it possible to make the taskbar all black? Because in the 2 themes you made, the upper right hand corner of the taskbar is not pure black. It's almost grayish in appearance.
If you could make one which is all black for both top and bottom bars, I would truly appreciate it a lot.

Maybe later I'll change v1 to a pure black if I manage to get a black bottom bar too.
In the meantime you can replace the taskbar.png in My Documents\Themes\tacchan23black with the one attached here (and soft reset).

i have some small bugs would be great if fix possible
-in skyfire address bar all is black so its not seen what is typed
-notifications shown black background (screenshot 1)
-some items unseen unless selected(screenshot 2&3)
and bug i have not sure its because of theme but i suspect it:
even after uninstalling black theme and setting back to original some places are gray instead of white, example notification in screenshot 1 after reverting to default white theme the black square becomes gray instead to white.

screen2&3: which application is that exactly?
screen1: the notifications look like this (screenshot) to me
skyfire: for me the address bar background is in black and the typed text is white (you have the newest skyfire version?)
You using WM 6.5, not 6.5.x right? maybe some of the problems may come from that... if anyone else is facing similar problems (with 6.5 I think) let me know please.

in screen 2,3 its resco 2010 b2 registry editor>export reg file.
i think notification is graphic file maybe you know which one so i can skin it?
i use 6.5 build 21884 and newest skyfire i think its cause you got samsung (if i understood correct) and samsungs apps (like notification manager) maybe work better with some things...
now when i'm setting back to white some places becomes gray what i need to change for this to become white?

I'll try resco registry later.
About skyfire and the notifications it's strange... maybe it depends on 6.5 vs 6.5.x. When I try to go back to a "white background" theme it's working correctly and there is no gray areas.
And sadly I really have no idea how to solve it
At least I'd like to know if anyone else is facing the same problem (with 6.5 or 6.5.x) on non Samsung devices.

mainly bc this new one IS NOT dusk, its Bright!!!
on the new one i have created the icon's background from scratch....hopefully making it POP a little better......dont think this will be a dusk, but it will be similar....
the other BIG change is brightness/glowing... really make icons STAND OUT imo.....
would LOVE to have some feedback on this....
removed the dusk taskbar and made it solid black...think it really makes it look nice...

Great idea, looks good, a few color options would be nice (blue would be super). Thank you! I must say you do a fantastic job and love all your hard work!
If not all problem a blue batery woul look great with the blue themed oned (iinstead of green)

okay, i have made a New Battery....it is not so bright and only changes from the matching color of the taskbar you download...
so if you download purple you will have a purple battery...
Once the battery is down to 25% it turn RED on ALL colors
should post soon!!!

this will be fixed in next release with updated battery

Alright Green, Blue and Black white all have matching batteries.....
purlple is next...then i will add red.....
also i know the blackwhite battery numbers are hard to see. will fix soon!

I think going a little brighter was a great idea. They look really good.

[THEME]!*Blue Tribal Dragon* *Blue Simple* Sense/Manila 2.5 Theme!

I decided to post in the general themes since this is for any WVGA device with Sense 2.5 (not sure if certain versions are/aren't compatible).
Hey everyone this is my VERY first theme and first contribution but I'm pretty alright with Photoshop and was very disappointed with the Sense 2.5 themes out there (sorry guys but I like blue !) so I decided to attempt to make my own.
I always wanted a super blue them lol and I finally got enough motivation to make one haha ;p.
I also plan on making a really sick looking red/steel theme even though I don't like red but the best-looking themes tend to be red hah.
I also plan to make the Sense 2.5 selected item highlight color blue but eh maybe at a later time lol.

Left is with the Blue Background.cab. Right one is with the Blue Clock Dragon Background.cab.
If you want the AM/PM to be white, the cab I use is called "MykCer Sense 2.5 Black Flip Clock.cab" and THEN install my clock digits and blue transparent background.
This is my own highlight for the HTC Menu and if you want me to make yours that same color then send me your HTCMenus.png from your Windows folder in a PM and I'll do it for you.
Installation:
All the cabs are in the .rar and all separate for people to be able to mix and match with different themes and properly named so no one is confused.
Download the picture and set it as your wallpaper in Sense.
Download the .rar and extract to your phone then install the cabs and enjoy !
Even if it says to restart to see the results just ignore that and either
A: Disable Sense 2.5 in the Today Settings
or
B: Just go to Customize>Tabs>and move a tab up or down on slot then press ok, this is what I do as it's the fastest way.
You only have to restart to see the results with the top and bottom bars (which I HIGHLY recommend you use with the default blue.tsk today scheme).
I didn't make the picture exactly, I took 2 pictures and just photoshopped them together lol very simple but it looks nice !

NOTES:
The top and bottom bar images ONLY work in WM6.5 and the version of Sense I'm using is 2.5.2018 running on Jacko's S2 Sense 2.5 ROM W/CHT 2.0.

Here is my current theme, I'm going with the dark blue/black thing lol but going to probably post the files later but only if there's some sort of feedback and people are interested lol.
This is with the new Cookie's Home Tab v2. I like to change my wallpaper a lot. In order to get the taskbar with the black icons then what you should do is look up "Dark Ninja Desire Taskbar V3 WM6.5 (Windows Start)" and if you like the black bars then keep it, if not then just install the "Blue Tribal Top and Bottom Bars.cab" and then copy and paste the png files that are in the dark black and blue bars.rar to your Windows directory and soft-reset .
For just the dark blue/black top and bottoms bars just:
Install the "Blue Tribal Top and Bottom Bars.cab" that is in the "Blue Tribal Dragon Sense 2.5 Theme.rar."
Download the top/bottom bar .rar you want (dark blue or light blue and black).
Then just take the .png's you find in the rar and put them in your Windows folder and soft-reset .

How did you get Calendar instead of Voicemail on your home tab without CHT?

Oh uh no idea, it came like that? The chef of my ROM would know sorry .

Very nice theme
I am currently running Energy rom with MaxSense UI but if I go back to another rom with CHT I will install this theme with it for sure.

The clock/digits/ calender and stuff are all included in the .rar and I'll upload the dark blue/black taskbar and softkeys in a bit.

Hey there, i have manila 2.5.2012 and when i install all works but transparent clock backgoround leaves a white box where am/pm should be and if i install the calendar, alarm one all icons beside calendar and alarm are white boxes...its on a fresh install all by itself am i doing something wrong?

Hmm odd... my transparent clock ONLY modifies the clock background and doesn't touch the am/pm. Even the black digits don't modify the am/pm color. The version of Sense I use now is 2.5.2016... maybe your manila is one version too old? I have no problem installing them.
Also, the calender/alarm blue bars only modify the bars, it doesn't touch the icons :/.
I can only recommend flashing a ROM with a more updated version of Sense... that's the only thing I can think of that could mess it up?
