Is it ture the the MT3G Fender has a new music .apk and if so can some one post it up...?
I have the Fender Mytouch coming in the mail. its the first android device i'll have ever used so i dont know how to extract files from it. if its anything like WinMo, im sure i can figure it out, but in case i can't it would be great if someone to give me a quick tutorial.
I want to get everything i can off this new phone and get it up here.
It's nothing like winmo,I had a touch hd and when I changed to magic I bricked it cos I thought it was like win mo. Android will let u flash the wrong thing thus bricking.
Read up like mad and make sure you quadruple check everything! But you will love android!
I downloaded it from one of the devs on twitter... it wont install on any rom i have tried though so it seems useless
could always ask a dev to work theyre magic? they managed to port hero keyboard for us by removing some stuff?

i wasnt able to firgure out how to do it. if it means anything, though, i dont even use the default music app. its a little slow and kinda bland looking. meridian is better.

New MyTouch 3G Owner here , just switched from a unlocked and jailbroken 16GB 3G iPhone. Got tired of not having 3G, i mean the phone is awesome, just got bored with it. And you need to jailbreak in order to customize.
So basically, I was on the market, and noticed themes, i downloaded one but said i needed GDE, sorry but i am new to this phone. And i heard you can do actual ROMS, but stuff like gtalk, and other main features of the phone wont work. This is why i got rid of the iPhone, i dont really wanna root, just want a cool theme like the xRoms, but i know i need extra widgets.
What can i do to make this happen?

If you look on the market there are applications called aHome and dxTop which are home alternatives that allow you to theme your mytouch without actually having to root it.
I have played with both and actually liked both but decided the world of ROMS are so much better and worth it. If you ever decide on going that route feel free to pm me for any help. i am by NO MEANS an expert but have learned from here and can point you in the right direction.

That theme you downloaded requires a program called GDE, its another home replacement application, should be available in the market. But like djflipnautikz said dxtop, aHome or OpenHome are other good ones aswell, just install em have a play and decide which you like the best.
The roms are best way to go though and is no where near as daunting as you might think and you don't lose any functionality if you pick your ROM well

I know ROM's are so much better, i actually want the Hero ROM, but isn't it true that if you do a ROM you lose a lot of features that basically makes the phone useless. I check out ahome and dxTop and dabble with it.

i did a search on GDE but nothing shows up, I would love to do a ROM, but i use GTalk a lot, i mean if you can link me to some good tutorials and recommend a ROM that would not lose all my abilities i am all for it. I could unlock and jaibreak iPhones like no ones business, so i am sure rooting wont be as difficult.
na_rsx, search on the forums about changing your rom but personally Ive used cyanogenmod roms for a good while without trouble and I use services like Gtalk, gmail, google calendar etc every single day, everything that works on the stock phone works on the modded one with addition of some stuff that isnt available on a stock phone yet =o)
This isn't iPhone where you get nerfed for making modifications

Any way Road SMS could be ported to the Eris? It seems to be a Samsung Galaxy-only .apk right now. I'm not aware of whether it is a processor heavy app but it looked interesting when I read the article.

I wonder if the apk I used on my Dinc will work in my wifes eris. I tried road sms. It was ok. It would be sick if they can somehow combine it with swype though.

i downloaded it in astro, unzipped it to a new directory i named roadsms.apk and installed
i have it on my hero and its SOOOOO laggy and inputing a contact is LAME.

I noticed that the GSM hero and other HTC phones have a working PSFreedom Jailbreak recovery image that doesn't break the touchscreen. Is anyone working on this that we know of? I would really appreciate knowing because if I keep having to nandroid/restore/wipe/nandroid every time I want to restart my PS3 i'm gonna go nuts!

the intention of the hack is to Run code that Sony never intended to be run. You can do illegal things with it if you're that kind of person *waves finger at all you naughty people out there* but the coolest part is that it pretty much gives us total access to the PS3 system. Think of it like you would rooting your phone, only the PS3 has been locked down so hard for so long that its a big juicy target and tons of people are feverishly writing cool apps for it as we speak. Each day brings tons of cool new stuff.
One example. The PS3 has a feature called Remote play that you can use with your PSP ... IF the game developer turned it on. Even if they didn't, you can enable it with a hacked ps3. Need to get up and go to the bathroom but don't want to miss the cutscene or the next battle/race? No problem, just pick up your PSP and head out of the room and keep playing :-D
There are emulators working for it already as well, SNES & Dreamcast to name two.

Yeah it is, you can find the apk on XDA, but videos won't play on the Hero...you can browse the instant play queue, but that's it. I am trying a few of the widely talked about edits to spoof it into playing but no go on the Hero yet.

you would need flash 10 for netflix to dont u or do they have it mobile formated now.
I believe it's mobile formatted...it plays fine on my iPod Touch...

That's what I was thinking about trying too. I'm thinking the app itself needs to be changed somehow, but I'm a newb so it's just a guess. I don't know if it's even possible to do that.

just becarefull when your modding apks because everyone got into trouble for fixing angry birds awhile back my suggestion is if you get it working keep it for yourself. and dont distrebute it on xda.

I hope we won't get into trouble. I would imagine they would praise the mod since it'll allow pre-existing customers to access their paid service account.
Just tried this, didn't work. Even got rid of at least some of the heroc's.

im pretty confident it will not work on the hero ever same reason as flash, i know they said they would only be supporting new snapdragon processors due to some sort of DRM compliance
i am also pretty sure that it needs an ARMv7 processor for some sort of hardware acceleration much the same way flash does, so its going to be more than just some build prop edits

The Optimus S/V has it working, they have a ARMv6 like us. Also, according to someone's twitter update (just saying, it might be true) Random Google Search they got it working on the HTC Hero.

That's what I've gotten so far. I only used the method in the description, and I posted above.

Trying the Optimus' way now. Hopefully it'll work. I'd love to have this on my phone, even though it will overheat the heck out of my battery .
By the way, I'm on AOSPCMOD 4/29, and it worked with AOSP's other ROM for the Optimus V. But then again, they have a working screen on-off animation, and we don't .
That I am pretty sure is because of the gpu esp for how choppy they were when they do work

Using Honeycomb Streak, plays VERY well, solid on screen touch controls, even zoom in and out support. Also the bigger perk is the "anywhere analog stick"

Yes I am on R8, which when the game 1st launched, I bought it from my DS7, installed, it, played it. So not sure why they are trying to say its not installable now. So Thought I would come here and see if anyone heard anything.

you could always side load it, would save the hassles of trying to sort out what is/isnt working correctly with it
Side load it? Granted.. now that I have my Galaxy S3.. gonna be hard to talk myself into playing it on my tablet hehe.. Tho the tablet with that large screen.. very nice when I did play it!

adb install <app name>.apk
its as simple as that if you have the apk in the same dir' as adb
Oh manually. lol. I always just used push and pull back then. =) I still have it all installed anyways. I just thought Id ask in here since 1st it was up here, then it was stopped. Saw one post somewhere saying that it talks about on tablets (not just DS7) that 3 hours into it, it would crash out and not go past that point. Now not sure if thats based on stock roms, 2.3 or 3.0 based, or whatever.
