I use this prg for couple of years now. It is complicated but when you make all adjustments to mach your needs is very stable and it can give all the information you ever need almost at the medical level. I have even a HRM band and a arm band for htc hd and is amassing. I didn`t find anything like it anywhere. It is very expensive but is wort all the money if you train regulately. I highly recommend this prg (I don`t work for them an I don`t have any commercial interest connected by them). the only thing what i don't like to that program is graphics, it is made for qvga screens and even if is working fine in WVGA it is ugly.

What he said. Pretty ugly, but excellent performance. I haven't found any other app to match it, or even to come anywgere close.

theres also so sporty pal

I tryed sportpal, but i find it kind of dif to understand the program :S

Just to add to the list of programs, even if it's not aimed at runners, it could be well used to keep track of your movements, it's a program called NoniGPSPlot.

Sportypal difficult it's very easy to use, click on start and start running

Just wondering if there are any other apps out there, specifically apps that upload to the web your progress, example: Nokia Sports Tracker and RunKepper for iPhone

I'm with Sportypal on my phone, i just came back from skiing, it worked great, also have been using the running and cycling mode.
The option for goal is nice and on some versions there is even voice feedback.

Pocket Dyno ?

Is there anyone programming a Dyno/Quartermile -Measuring Application?
I've found one for the *uaaah* Iphone/Ipod Touch *uaaaaah* called "Dynolicious"
http://www.dynolicious.com/
Looks great!!
Time to get a competitor on Diamond *g*

yeah i agree with that its looks very nice.
nice idea for the diamond. i'm looking forward to how this program works
GPSSkinner should be able to give you most of the info and even with a design you choose yourself

Wow this is just what I need. Would definately pay actual money for that app on the diamond
I like this idea also. GPSskinner only use the GPS, it would be nice if this can be done with the G-Sensor we have in our diamonds....
gps thingy only measur speed that can my tomtom also ^^ the dyno program from dynolisious has much more options then only speed
I would definately buy an application like this for the diamond.
My car is going to be tortured so much, as soon as this app is available.
Looking forward to it ;-)
yeah now we need someone that can make this
hehe i can't still learning c and java :O
This certainly looks awesome.Anybody looking into making this for the diamond?
that's great
i have used up to now the gti.sis from www.tempes.com with an symbian phone and it works not bad
but measurements with the g sensor you get better values for a reproducible
acceleratin.
i hope someone can do the hard work
I would like something like that http://www.veypor.com/veypor.html
It is accelerometer - based!!
If it can be developed on the iPhone, and HTC is "The phone with all the things iPhone STILL misses" then it should be possible to program it for the HTC aswell ! Just requires a programming nerdy with fuel in the blood
Yes, please someone make this program. im happy to donate for this

I gonna donate a cup of coffee at starbucks to the guy who makes it for Touch Diamond!
i'd donate $25 for a comparable program like the iphone version.
there's a new video on yt, where the [email protected] is compared with a dynojet + gtech.
iphone was much more accurate and much better to use...

Here's a couple other standalone hardware examples. Maybe they would write the software?

http://www.g2xtreme.com/faq.htm
PDA Dyno exists:
http://www.nology.com/pdadyno.html
I by no means know enough about the hardware required, but there is a fast sampling time required for gps data logging. Googling the topic brings up plenty of discussion from SCCA forums.
i'd donate $20 for a comparable program like the iphone version
I got a reply from Traqmate:
We have jokingly spoken about doing an iPhone implementation. The
problem is that Traqmate uses a high-speed GPS chip chosen for speed and
the phones use a 1Hz chip that is chosen for sensitivity. Good idea but
I am afraid a phone would not make a very good Traqmate.

[ADVENT] Rom Adventures Ended

After Touch (Elf) I bought an Iphone 2G, sold the Iphone in favor of the Nokia E71 (better GPS software for my neck of the woods!)
Dusted of my old Elf, downloaded a rom from this forum, to see where this TouchFlo was all about....
Hmmmm, not bad. Used my Nokia as a bluetooth GPS module for the Elf, and found some software...
Oh. Thats nice. Lets see whats new from HTC?
So I fell in love with the new Touch Pro2 through youtube, but it was not available yet. Oh Boy.
Can I wait a few more months?
No.
Hmmm, TouchHD in the mean time?
Ok.
Already when the HD was on its way to my house I read this forum, to see what was going on.
Lots of nice things, abut I resisted HardSPL'ing my HD for 5 days, while wading through the often chaotic posts and new releases while playing with colored icons.
But then, I couldn't resist. First tried a radio, you have to start simple. 1.25 is not ok. No GPS Bars. 1.10 Works. Don't really see a difference.
Yesterday I tried most popular roms. All of them have their greatness, but also sad bugs making the HD a strange thing at times. Not to mention the often very personal customisations made....
Enough. No more. All I want is some extra speed. My stock rom is actually fine. I don't need rotating screens. or 90% 95% or claimed 100% Topazes or Rhodiums, where Thumbcal doesn't work.
Who wants a Topium calendar where the finger is too thick after two beatuiful screens?
Standard Manila is fine, if ThumbCal is included.
I extracted my own rom, and had the nice cfc_gui.exe make my Manila work with compressed graphics, and cooked it.
"Borrowed" the Ramdisk from another rom, and made it work. System and Opera are Very Volatile now
Had SKtools set the HD to performance.
I have a bit of extra speed, I think...
Thanks Guys, you know who you are.
Back to work, and waiting for the Pro2. (and the announced 1000mhz Qualcom, but thats for next year. I hope.)
No more flashing, for now.
ahahah, i doubt it...
This sh#$t is really addicted.
.....
hell of a rant................
huh?
i just read that twice...without sounding rude or anythng, what was the purpose in writing that?
it was no purpose, i think. Its like report called "my life with HD".
But no more flashing....man...i doubt it
Friday celebrations have started early in this wonderfully useful thread!
Agree.
Only one thing I would like to ask: how did you manage to "borrow" the RAM disk?
Can you lend me one?
I can understand. I use to have a Polaris and really found advantage in flashing it : new interface, faster response times and especially : no regressions
Currently, I don't feel the same with Blackstone Roms. So, mine will waiting to be deflowered.

no sorry.
I still use it.
But you can have one from onkolog. He has plenty, first flash his rom. He doesn't give the dll if you ask him.
Then replace the dll found in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382944
with onkologs dll, and you have a ramdisk. 16mb doesn't get noticed by the HD.
Flashjunkies. A phone should work.
Hmm, Iphone 3G? In most cases one button press (or slide) less to reach what I want..
Or can I disable my all my bzzz buttons, I press them too much by accident, scaring the **** out of me...

Paml Pre- Anyone got one?

Anybody get a pre? I've seen one really great review of it and one kind of crummy review, very curious about getting this phone for my wife. Any recommendations on a good site (the XDA-Dev's for PalmPre)?? Thanks!!
not sure, but i dont believe HTC is manufacturing the pre
XDA = HTC phones.
again, not sure, if it is manufactured by HTC there would probably already be a section on the forum devoted to the pre.
I have heard a lot of good things about the phone.
only 2 cons so far: small keyboard, and programs lag a little.
other then that, Its a great looking phone, with new innovative GUI
I don't think I would be able to use the small keyboard. I can barely use the one on the Treo Pro, and the one on the Centro is too small for me... and I have relatively small hands!
Yeah, I know there won't be a section here as it is most definitely NOT an HTC device, hence my posting in off-topic. I was jut wondering if anyone knew what the best Palm forum is.
I've heard from another member of the forums here who has one that there are some hardware probs with the phone, dead pixels and bad overheating problems. First run Blackstones had similar issues so we'll see if this doesn't get straightened out in the next shipment. I'm not too worried about the small keyboard as my wife has doll hands and long nails anyway ;-)
Best bet is Precentral.net
Its not nearly as robust as XDA in regards to the manipulating and hacking of the device (possibly cause its just brand new) but its probably the biggest Pre / WebOS focused message board at the moment.
Yep i have red this is a crap
A piece of crap... is the way that many people has referred about the new PALM Pre.. why? i dont know, but I think its not powerfull than other device from PALM or HTC, but, does this palm have WinMo? maybe this feature can make it a little stronger.
I saw a few videos and i cant remember about it, cause it doesnt matters to me... Palm doesnt matter for who is a HTC user, you know...
BTW that litle qwerty seems to be for a kid... they are very happy cause the edge of the device is soft... what an amazing development!!!!
Well let us know if anyone has a little toy like that.
There should be a Pre section on this site...I dont see why now. There's 2 for the Palm Treo's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=321
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=466
I might be getting one after some of the initial updates and bugs are worked out. 2 of my friends have one and they seem to like it so far comparted to their HTC TP.

Makes sense...Thanks
I played around withh it for a bit an the keyboard is soft and hard, but maybe your wife's doll hands will be fine lol
The web browsing is great. And I like that it's slim. Other than that, I like my Pro. And I don't know of any other issues. though. Good luck!
I do have to say that the Pre UI is pretty sweet. I hope the Android team takes not and realizes that the built in apps can also look good. As noted a few posts back, the Pre does have a bit of lag when you launch new apps, but the card manager works great for switching once they are open.
I have to say that I love the hardware design of the thing. reminds me a lot of the HTC Touch Dual. I hope HTC brings back the Duals form factor in a new Android handset.
I played with one today at the Sprint store...
The keyboard is better than I expected, better than the Treo Pro, much better than the Centro...
There is a "slight" lag when opening applications, but it doesn't seem to be with all applications.
The card interface is really cool and works great!
I have a Pre, so I would know stuff:
The in-store Pre's are running demo software, so they will have more lag than the real model
There is no file explorer - This is a huge change from what were used to on Windows Mobile, lol, but you don't necessarily need it.
Multitasking is AMAZING! Nothing can match it. Using Turn-by-Turn GPS while streaming Pandora in the car is seamless and works just as you'd expect.
The app store, well, give it time!
EXCHANGE: If you're exchange server doesn't use a SSL connection, then you're screwed. Palm has to release an update before this will ever work. Trust me, there's no other solution.
Synergy - I wouldn't know how well this works because I can't connect my Exchange server, which pretty much defeats the purpose.
Overall, I'd say that for your wife, the Pre would be perfect. It's like an iPhone, but you can do wayy more. It's not Windows Mobile though, so don't expect a bunch of functionality. But this phone works perfectly for what you want it for. Everything just works the way you would expect, like how the phone wont lock the screen unless you put it in your pocket (brilliant!)
But watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9uNABNcCoY It's an Opera Mini vs Palm Pre browser comparison video. Opera Mini smokes the Pre, lol.
So I would say, get the Pre for your wife. Everything is soo seamless on the Pre and works so nicely. If you want to be an advanced user, then WinMo (or Android maybe) is for you.

I didn't know about the lock in the pocket things, that's really cool
My sever is SSL, so I'm fine there.
And, of course Opera Mini wins, the Pre is doing all the work itself...
HTC did make PALMpre...i remember when it was announce back in january...i have to say it is a very solid and good device and i love winmo phone, current xperia, touch pro, and HTC HD user. Palmpre WEBos impressed me i would pick one up when a gsm version release. I believe this device took whats good with winmo and iphone and combined it together very well and have lots of room to improve as well...one thing i notice about it that is bad is the battery...make sure you read up on the tweaks n so on so you can conserve battery but most people say it dies out very quickly i dunno if its the way they using it or not but i used a unit for 2 days and still have 50 percent battery...i say your wife would love this device and make a fan out of u

Sick and tired! Where is sky map!

I'm tired of all this andriod talk that you can have sky map or google sky map whatever... I want it for htc touch pro windows.... I don't like the boring ones I got I want to be able to move around and look at all the stars while the phone is being move...i dont want to drag with my hand thats lame and outdated...

agreed. i want skymap too.
indeed, if i possessed the knowledge or the will to obtain the knowledge.... this app would have been created long ago
you would need a compass in the device to get that type of movement accuracy.
I know someone that has somthing like that for his android, just need to port it to wm.

and his android device also has a compass.
any sort of augmented reality program will not run usably on our devices. the gsensor just isnt enough. we can define y axis and x axis, but no z axis. which is what the compass does, it gives the device a control, a constant, a place that is always going to be the same. it can then use the other relevant info from the accelerometers to always know exactly how the phone is positioned.
run one of the xandroid builds, install skymap, and just try to use it. if youre some how able to get it lined up, and move VERY slowly, you might be able to get it to work. again, one small jerk of the phone, and you will be looking through the screen in a totally different area.
the only wm phone i know of with a compass built in, is the hd2. there might be another one, but i never heard about it.

3d games on G Tab

I've done all the market hacks and tried all the tricks but im wondering why most of the actual 3d games i want to get to show off the muscle that this great little tegra 2 tablet can flex.
it seems like the games i want on here right now "pocket legend" and "rocket bunnies" don't show up in the market and I was looking forward to "dungeon defenders"
I think there needs to be a big push of actually finding a way to get the full market that my Nexus One gets...
This is mostly why i bought the tablet, and thanks to all the great devs here we've been able to get "almost" everything working (Thanks roebeet, et all)
maybe we can make a nice thread with some different market fingerprints and post market results? (or any other suggestions)
I am currently running the latest Vegantab beta4 fyi.

Well, as the guy who has tried all the market fingerprints and build.prop stuff and wrote the thread on the "full" market fix, I can tell you with some confidence that Pocket Legends and some of the other 3d games are a known issue - I have tried changing every build.prop setting to match that of my Nexus One (which finds those apps with no problem), and there are still a handful of 3d games that will not show up. I have also found that if you change too many of the settings in build.prop, you will eventually bootloop your G Tablet because Android itself gets confused about what it's running on.
You can find my notes on the subject in my posts on my thread in this forum on Full Market Fix.
In summary - the issue seems to be more than just using a different Market Fingerprint. That does not solve the problem, though it may make a few addition or a few less items show up. Right now, by most of my metrics, we have at least 95% of the items in Market showing up.
BTW, I have seen posts stating that the work around for Pocket Legends has been to download directly from their site, though I have not done so myself.
My understanding is that the CyanogenMod ROM for G Tablet does not require the Maket Fix and has no issues with missing items in Market because of the way the ROM image is built. I think the person to ask about this is bekriebel who built CyanogenMod for G Tablet - he can explain the concept of release-keys better than I can and how Market supports it out of the box on the CM ROM.
Unfortunately, it's a bit outside of my time availability right now to work much more on this, having already spent a day or more figuring out what I figured out. But please keep me in the loop if you figure anything else out!
I just thought it would be good to have a good constructive conversation about why else it might not be working... so the build.prop isnt the thing then.
its sad that 3d games are not showing up when this device was built for 3d gaming!
Pocket legends shows up on mine. got it installed...lemme try the other one..
EDIT: Strange they arent showing up anymore. when i was on Cyanogen 6.1 i Had them showing up. then again I didnt have the new market that looks like xbox live. strange...

this is what I'm refering to its so spotty. there is this great drawing app that i purchased that id love to use on the tab called "sketchbook mobile" but its not showing up for me either.
I know there have been lots of people working on it but it would be great if we could somehow compare market search results on some of them to find the best?
also if cyanogenmod has more working downloads is there anyway that the market from cyanogenmod can be rolled into Vegantab?
Dungeon Defenders is amazing its based on the unreal engine and really shows off this hardware.
If we are patient I am sure there will be many amazing games in the future for this CPU/chipset.
I had originally intended to only use the gtab until a good windows7 tab was released but after seeing Dungeon defenders on this system I seriously doubt any windows based tab will be able to come close to this tab for some time and I am sure the cost of a system like that will be much higher.
U need to check out this game to understand what I mean.

Agreed, DD plays perfectly on the gtab. Hopefully this is just the beginning of things to come once Honeycomb is in place and developers start making apps with tablets in mind.
