So this is what i know.
1) I already know that Fresh 1.0 has A2SD support built within it.
2) I know to go to Recovery and use the format SD (I used these settings)
Swap:516, Ext3:516, Fat32: Rest ammount
3) Did this once before and it seemed that all my apps were on SD card (when i took it out and reboot, all my apps were gone. When i put it back in then reboot they all back on phone)
What i need to know.
1) How do i choose which apps/games to transfer over to SD card.
2) Where are they on my SD card? (Could not see it when i checked the SD card)
3) When you do this are all of the apps off of the phone memory? or are the apps still able to stay on phone.
What i essentially want to do.
1) i just want to be able to easily use A2SD to backup and easily transfer my apps/games back and fourth if i need to.
Any usable help would be greatly appreciated ^^ thanks.

If someone has better info please correct me if I'm wrong
1. When you install a ROM with apps2sd, as long as you have your SD card formated properly everything except for stock roms are transfered. If they were not, uninstall and install in the market and should go to SD card.
2. On fresh rom I noticed (atleast for me) that the app and app-private folders were in /system/sd/
3. All of your downloaded apps will be on your SD card. Stock apps (sprint apps and what came with the phone etc.) will still be on the phone's memory.
I use ES File Explorer and just copy the app and app-private folders when i want to backup all my downloaded apps. Pretty easy app to use and supports root.

You don't. If it's in /data, it gets moved. This means that applications that come with the phone, which are in /system, do not get moved. The symlink solution means that you cannot easily choose applications to leave on the phone.

Correct. They are on the EXT partition you created, oddly enough just like the documentation says. You cannot see this partition. If you are so inclined, you can adb into the phone and see it mounted on /system/sd.

Applications shipped with the phone stay on the phone. Data directories created by downloaded applications stay on the phone. You will still see space on the phone being used.

A2SD has nothing to do with a backup solution and is not necessary for you to back anything up. Pick one of the umpteen backup applications available in the Market and go to town.
Ok I'm looking to install new/bigger memory card (1gb to 8gb sdhc) for more memory after maintenance. I'm currently running Aloysious 2.0.9 Maps, looking to run new Custom ROM ( LiquidSense 2.1, CM6, NFX 2.2 or aospMod v0.9.7)
* My vibrate mode stop working recently could it be ROM or do i need to unrrot and take back to Sprint
* Do i Unroot to the 2.27 OR the 2.31 stock ROM? Will i be able to ROOT back to a new Custom ROM like LiquidSense 2.1, CM6, or aospMod v0.9.7
* How/What files do i need to transfer over from my old card to new card after or before i flash new Custom ROM

If you are not running Apps2SD:
- backup your current SD card
- put your backup on your new SD card
- Shutdown your phone
- Remove current SD card
- insert your new SD card
- Boot your phone and you should be good to go.
If you are running Apps2SD, search the forums... there are ways you can do it.

Did you try setting the phone to vibrate - always? Do that, see if it solves your problem.

If you decide to take into Sprint, yes you will have to run an official RUU - you could do either 2.27 or 2.31. I think, all updates, except the latest one, are rootable. So, you should be good to root and put a ROM of your choice.

Once you take a backup of your SD card, you can format the SD card before you run RUU. To flash a ROM, you will have to have the ROM and any related files on the SD card, other than that no other files are "required".

I'm just wondering about the old files such as dreamimg.nbh, and the older files I used to root my phone with, If I can now delete them..?
I'm running the latest cyanogen mod, but the old updates are taking up 100-200MB of space on my SD card..

No you shouldn't need them anymore. You would only need them if you became unrooted again

What are the diference between super froyo and cyanogen and the rest of the android? I'm a noob and would like to install one of this to my kaiser.

The "builds" you're asking about are just different versions of the same build.
The 29-8-11 build is version 2.2.2 Froyo, Super Froyo (IIRC) is build 2.2.1, and Cyanogenmods are just that, "mods" to an originally stock build, wether it be Froyo, Gingerbread, Eclair, etc.
I honestly can't say I hate or dislike any build or modded version, as they all have their benefits. The one great thing about Android is the ability to "make it your own" through customization, where-as iOS (iPhone) pretty much locks you into a certain form and functionality, which the benefit is stability.
My suggestion... grab the 29-8-11 build on sourceforge and build a kernel with 3-4mb above the total install size of 87mb, give yourself a 15-20mb cache file and install it. Customization comes with time, trial and error, and some effort, but you will be happy with the results.

I partition using the atools but nothing happen.Receive an error message someting like ext2 ext3 and something missing.Get an error using the above.Maybe it's my bad.

That is nothing to do with the D-pad, that is a fault of not installing the system to NAND, something I'm unfamiliar with as I never used or even liked HaReT.
It appears as if you're installing to SD, but the card is not formatted correctly with the 3 (maybe 4 now) partitions needed, one for system, another for data, and the rest for your use.
It should be easy peasy to install to NAND as ATools is really optimized for NAND installations now.
Now I made ext 2 & 3 to my sd card. 1st attempt took 6hrs and still installing files and now trying 2nd attempt.
I use atools and choose haret.once Linux running I choose ext 2 . I follow everything but android doesn't seems to run. Now under file folder there's only ext2 appear ext3 is missing . Have been trying to install few times but nothing happens. My card is 16gb class4.

First off, forget about keeping Windows Mobile and go straight to Android. I never liked running from a SD card.

Select the correct build for your Country (eu, us or all), preferrably an "odexed" version, download it and copy it to your FAT32 formatted SD card in a folder labled "andboot" without the quotes.
If you check around, I have a post or 2 with the "KAISIMG.NBH" file attached. I always build a new kernel for any new installs as I like to make modifications depending on build size. The one I posted is for this build with a meager 500MHz overclock, 15mb for cache and around 92mb for data with an EXT4 FS.
If you use the 29-8 build, there is no need to update anything as the update modules are included.
How many partition do i need and how many mb do i need on each partition.I'm using 16 gb.

First off, you're speaking in HaReT terms, a completely different language for me.
I only know how to install /system and /data to NAND, NOT an SD card. No 3 separate partitions on my SD, only 1 formatted to FAT32.
Again, you're running Android "through" Windows by clicking an .exe file in file explorer, not the way I'm running it, which just involves pressing the power button, so you are, in fact, speaking a different language.
Build a kernel with ATools for NAND, not HaReT, and leave everything alone when presented with where to install. /system goes on NAND, /data goes on NAND.
That is my recommendation because I'm all about speed, and a class 6 SD couldn't provide that. Think of NAND as class 10...

Make sure you are using a FAT32 formatted SD card when attempting a kernel update. If you are sure it is formatted correctly, try another. I have 5 SD cards here, 2 of which won't work for kernel update, regardless of format.
If all else fails, look around for the RUU installer for the Kaiser.

Very simply, keep your phone away from any computers!
The only problem I see is the USB is connecting and disconnecting.
DO NOT keep the phone connected to the computer.
If you have followed all the instructions for a NAND install, this conversation would not take place... its THAT simple.
Reformat your SD card, out the KAISIMG.NBH directly on the SD, not inside any folders. Once thats done, make a new folder on the SD called "andboot" and place the androidinstall.tar file inside the new folder. If you're using a rom other than Scoot's or the SourceForge, you'll need an update for the cache.
Install takes less than 2 minutes with even the slowest SD card and first boot usually runs 3-5 minutes. ALL up and running, ready to use in less than 10 minutes.
@PoxFreak, at last i manage to install Android to my Kaiser HaRET way.I think i know what's the problem.I think it's due to my radio. I was using 1.71 and 1.70 it doesn't work. So i install shipped rom to my kaiser and install android .

I manage to install CyanogenMod 6.1.2 Release 6 by using NAND.It took me .... like you say about 5 mins+.I was wondering I have 2 Kingston 4gb microsd card both can be use to install HaRET but only one of them can install NAND.So now I would like to use back my 16gb sd card as an external to install apps.Will I be able to do that instead of using the 4gb? Can I partition it?

I want to install this dual boot on my nook plus but I am not having much luck.
The nook hd plus had firmware 2.1.0 if it matters.
I downloaded cwm early 7.1 (sdcard-cwm-early7.1.img.gz and unzipped the image fie with 7zip.
I then downloaded Winimage version 9.0 and selected the E drive where my brand new san disk 16 gig SDSDQ-016G-AW46A
When I clicked the write button and I get a message the current image format is not supported. It will be resized. Do you want to continue which I did. I then appears to write the image because I see files on the micro sd card. So I stick the sd in the nook and suspecting I will get a boot loader and I get nothing but the normal nook boot screens. Also it is not real clear how I will install cm-10.1-20130719-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-sdcard.zip. IE whether I download it to the nook or the sd card and if I need to extract the zip ahead of time.
I really want to get this working soon and I really do want to run completely off the SD card. If anyone can please help without just referring to links to posts that are not written very well I would appreciate it. I have actually RTFM allot of these posts and they seam to be missing allot of important details and steps assuming you have done this before. On a side note it mentioned download other apps you may want is google play and allot of key stuff missing in these builds? Thanks.

Don't use winimage to write the image to sd, use win32diskimager free on the web.
Also some of the newer HD+'s are hard to get to boot to SD. Just keep trying to burn and boot. You have o get it to boot to SD or it can't install the CM10.1.
You copy the CM10.1 zip to internal memory when running stock. Then when you boot to the SD, install it from internal memory.

I am using this duel boot method running root on SD. I was wondering how do I upgrade the ssd to the latest sd only version without loosing my installed stuff and settings? Also can the daily builds be run on the rom only version while maintaining installed programs and settings? If so what is the easiest way using an sd card only boot? I want to preserve the original nook for now is why I am using this method. Thanks.

To update to a newer version of the same ROM, just flash the newer SD version over the top of the old version using the same CWM that you flashed the original. All your apps and settings should remain.

So do I copy the latest update to the rooted os on the sd card or do I have to boot back to the original nook os and download it there? Then is there an option in the clockwork mod to upgrade the zip file so I do not loose my installed stuff on my rooted SD card boot? What is the option in clockwork to do it correctly?

You can do everything from your SD. Just download the new zip, boot to CWM and install zip from SD. It will keep your apps intact.
